    Bandra with Jimmy
Jimmy, our guide, was exceptionally enthusiastic, knowledgeable and enlivening. Being a born & bred (cynical) Bombayite, it’s strange how hitherto unknown nuggets about your home city can get you excited and awestruck. Thanks guys, it was a fun eye opener and a breezy experience! I’d easily recommend this to anyone…

    A thriving and smiling Dharavi
While I started off very hesitant to sign up for this tour, I am glad that I went for it. The trip gives you an insight into the hustle and bustle of Dharavi, shared through the lens of individuals who grew up there, know every inch of the place and are passionate about their community. The trip focusses on how the businesses in Dharavi contribute to reducing the waste generated by different businesses and brands such as plastic or even single use soaps from the hospitality sector. The trip provides perspective on how diverse communities can co-exist and thrive, even while encountering certain hardships. Highly recommend this trip to anyone who has a pre-conceived notion of Dharavi courtesy, what is showcased in media.

    Great day at Elephanta
Did the Elephanta Islands/caves private tour with Mrs Pan. It was so good to have someone with so much knowledge take us around the caves. We were looked after from minute one, with everything taken care of by Mrs Pan, including the entry and ferry over. I have been before to The Elephanta cabes but without a guide, but learnt so much more with Mrs Pan taking us around. Her knowledge of the site details on the interpretation of the carvings provided great insight and information on the meaning of the everything and made the experience so much better. We would recommend a private tour with khaki tours and Mrs Pan for anyone looking to experience Elephanta to its fullest.

    Jimmy Jimmy Jimmy
Although I have lived in Mumbai all my life and visited Bandra atleast once every month, doing this jeep ride with Jimmy brought in a completely new perspective. He showed us spaces which we would have either never found or even if we found them never known what to they stood for. Thank you Jimmy. Also a big thank you to Javed bhai for skilfully manoeuvring the narrow bylanes of Bandra so smoothly. This is the first of the many south Mumbai walks I plan to do with Khaki and Jimmy. BTW we also passed through one the very early houses of Bappi Lahiri in Chuim village. Felt like serendipity !!!! Jimmy Jimmy Jimmy.... aaja aaja aaja !!!!

    Mumbai Basics — Essential!
Faredoon Bujhwala was my guide on Khaki’s Essential Mumbai tour — he was excellent, and what he shared was essential to understanding the roots and culture of a complex and historical city. The pace was a perfect mix of walking and chauffeured touring. We went from the Taj to the Gateway to India to Churchgate to a hidden temple to Shiva. Our time was packed with insight, background and knowledge about what we saw along the way and that set us up to explore more of the city in the coming days. Faredoon has a great passion for Mumbai which was infectious and inspiring. Thank you!

An amazing day visiting Mumbai with Faredoon
My husband and I had an extraordinary tour of Mumbai “ The Essential Mumbai “ with Faredoon Bhujwala. We can’t thank Faredoon enough for such an exquisite tour. We were exposed to the historical timeline and architectural landmarks in an elaborate but yet friendly manner. Faredoon’s enthusiasm and deep knowledge of his city really helped us understand the multi layers of this amazing place. Our tour was completed by the visit of a few temples which brought joy and serenity at the end of an amazing day. I strongly recommend this tour.

Rediscovery of the sights and sounds of Bandra
It was an exciting experience -discovering places and little tidbits of historical story that I knew nothing about despite being a Bandra resident for a very long time. The quaint village atmosphere in the midst of a big city like Mumbai was indeed very interesting especially when it comes with stories and pieces of local gossip! An open jeep ride on a cool January morning - who could ask for more! Juzer, Jimmy and Javed the J trio are founts of knowledge when it comes to Bandra and its surroundings ! All in all a great trip and highly recommended for both residents of Mumbai and tourists!

Often we pass also the famous attractions of a city without realising the amount of history linked behind what makes that part of the city unique and pertinent to our current landscape.
Being a full time resident of Bandra in addition to her interest in the architecture and development through ages of this part of town resulted in a very well curated walk that we enjoyed every bit of, making it all the more interesting to get more than adequately informed with familiar monuments, walkways, buildings and. She's well versed with the history and significance of various places, narrated the history with crisp humour, no overload of info, while answering all our questions with calm enthusiasm!
I highly recommend any lover of architecture, history, culture to simply try this walk and enjoy looking at familiar objects with a renewed sense of awe :)

We learned about Bandra’s history and visited sites that many of my Mumbaikar relatives were not familiar with. Our host Sagar was enthusiastic, full of information and answered all our questions (took excellent photos) even though the tour went past the two hour period. Highly recommend it .. even to residents of the busy city .. a walk through Ranwar village and surroundings give you a feel of what Mumbai must have been in the early days.

We just moved to Mumbai and did the Bandra Bygone tour with Sagar. We absolutely loved the experience and found it to be a unique, creative way to connect to the city. His unique perspective on history, social constructs and pop culture made it all the more interesting. Would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic and immersive way to vibe with the city.

I have done many Khakhi tours over the years in different locations in Mumbai and always been enriched to know a little more each time about this maximum city's heritage and hsitory. And there is so much to know and learn. On the Bandra heritage Walk yesterday, our guide was Ajay Hattanagdi, a resident of Bandra himself for many years. He started the talk by giving a detailed half an hour history of Bandra right from the time when Mumbai did not exist as we know it today, it was a motley group of 7 islands and another bigger block called Salcete and how the arrival of the Portuguese who defeated the Gujarat Sultanate really changed things. The portuguese gave away the 7 islands in dowry to the English....not knowing that these mosquito infested marshy lands would develop into the most valuable harbor port for the British. By then Bandra had been entirely converted to Christianity by the Portuguese and the 25 hamlets comprising of the East indians (originally the 4 indigenous communities of Bombay) to be joined by the Goan Christians later on came to have their own customs, way of life, culture and identity. Christmas time is really when it all comes alive in a blingy way with the lights, stars, wreaths, crib and nativity scenes and more!! Bandra becomes magical. Our 2.5 hr walk in the evening saw us touching many points walking past today's glitzy star studded bungalows and how heritage is also slowly vanishing sadly. We visited the famous pilgrimage centre Mount Mary Church and offered our prayers to the Mother with Infant Jesus in her arms now knowing the history of how she has survived so many centuries of bloody conflict thanks to Ajay's lucid details. Our walk culminated at St Andrews Church finally. But not before we saw plague crosses and other village guardian crosses along the way. Hope to come back to bandra next year again. So much to see and perhaps even more to learn and appreciate. Thanks khakhi tours!

On a balmy May early evening we took the Ballard Bolt walk with Ajay. As regular visitors to Mumbai we knew a little of the area in advance, however the walk brought many aspects of the Ballard Estate to life and filled in many gaps in our knowledge. A good sized group we wandered around for over an hour and half and enjoyed the relaxed style of Ajay and also his knowledge of the many important buildings around us. We will undertake further works on subsequent visits.

We really enjoyed the walking tour of Bandra with Jimmy. What was nice was that he came prepared knowing that Antonio was from Brazil and customised the narrative to make it easy to relate to. The tour was pleasant and felt conversational as opposed to a script. I would recommend it highly for those interested in Portuguese/ British history, the refugee influx and the East Indian community in particular.

Our guide Sagar Joshi made the historic places come alive with the very well researched past and legends about every location that he took us on a walk thru . He is passionate about what he does , his story telling skills and engaging his audience while he weaves them into a bygone era are exquisite . We were lucky to have been hosted by him . I have come away richer in my knowledge about not only Bandra but also the chequered history of the city I love .

We explored Bandra with Pankaj Pradhan of Khakhi and it was a great way to spend the last evening of the year! From the crowded Bandra bandstand to the quiet quaint lanes of Ranwar village, Pankaj guided us with ease and plenty of interesting stories along the way. This has made us fall back in love with our own city, and whetted our appetites for more. We strongly recommend these tours for anyone who wants to explore the city and see it with new eyes. Thanks khakhi and Pankaj!

Our group of 4 went for the BygoneBandra tour with our Khaki tour guide Pervez Panthaky.

The history and the stories woven in with the leisurely walk made for a very interesting morning. As a resident of Santacruz for over three decades, I was surprised how little I know of a neighbouring suburb.

While the history and the architecture was fascinating, what I found particularly interesting was the street art, the serene Ranwar village, and the fusion of faith, creativity, cultures and style that the Queen of suburbs today portraits.

A big shout out to our guide Parvez who kept us engrossed with big stories and smaller anecdotes.

Strolling through the narrow lanes of Chuim on Christmas evening with Jimmy of Khaki Tours was a one-of-a-kind experience. The charming homes, with their canopy of stars, adorned with twinkling fairy lights and inviting Christmas trees added a festive vibe. Jimmy's engaging narratives, fascinating trivia, and amusing anecdotes wove a captivating narrative of history and contemporary culture, making the twilight walk an unforgettable experience.
