- andrewbT3989AN00Outstanding ExperinceWe loved every minute of this great tour. Our wonder guide - Hitesh took us on an amazing adventure exploring the narrow alleyways of the amazing area and the cottage industries that have developed - from recycling to garment making to pottery and leather tanning and leather goods. The day was finished with lunch prepared and cooked by a local family in their home. What a moving way to finish our India adventure. I can not recommend this tour highly enough.
- andrewbT3989AN00Amazing Street food TourWhat an amazing tour. Our guide, Janna, was fantastic, meeting us at Churchgate Station, we travel by local train, a great experience, to Chowpatty Beach to sample a great range of street food from the local vendors. We then travelled into the heart of the city experience street food from different cultures that make up this amazing city. To add to our great experience, we happen to be in the city during Ganesh Chaturthi festival which lasts for 10 days. We had the opportunity to witness the local traditions and customs up-close, with the evening streets coming alive with drummers and dancers. Janna, knowledge and help was outstanding. A highlight of our time in Mumbai.
- Wanderer39598100European vacationWorst experience ever. The driver they found couldn’t enter the city center. Lost luggage. Booked a flight on business class, but the return was overbooked. One person doesn’t even have a boarding pass. Two people got bumped to economy. Agency didn’t even try to rectify it. We had to call the airlines ourselves and even the airlines couldn’t help us. Stay far away from this agency.
- seanmcw00Fascinating and informative tour of DharaviThis was a fascinating tour that was led by a young woman from Dharavi. It was informative about the poverty and difficulties faced by people living here as well as the resourcefulness of the people. We felt safe at all times and it was great to visit Reality Tours and Travel centre where they educate young people. Overall one of the most interesting experiences in India.
- Karl B00Fantastic eye-opening tour of Dharavi SlumA great guide showed us around this fascinating place. He was really knowledgeable, cared about the place and people that live and work there and we felt safe the whole way round the tour.
- Reinoud7300Reality tours is excellentReality tours is unique. We did 2 tours: the Dharavi tour and the Bollywood tour. Both guides were intelligent, enthusiastic and very nice guys. Already travelling with them in Mumbai and speaking about life in Mumbai was worth the money. So different from many more commercial tours. The Dharavi tour was an absolute eye opener for us. On the back of the shirts of the guide is written 'see the real India'. Well, that is what we did in Dharavi and it was so incredibly interesting. I will never think of slums again the way I did before this tour. The Bollywood tour was ok. Our guide was fantastic but he was not allowed to guide us in Bollywood. Someone who works there did it. Bollywood was nice to see but I would have preferred doing other tours with reality (markets&temples for example).
- Getaway1571520756100Authentic way to connect!A engaged company with the reality of thousand of people. A great way to discover in an authentic way India.
- 630eli_kam00The best part of our Bombaj visitThis was unique and fantastic experience we definitely recommend to everybody. To see life in slum is the oportunity everybody should take. Our guide was excellent and explained everything we asked, it was really amazing to have a conversation together. It was a pleasure to meet people from the community, they shared so much with us and we are very grateful for that. Please, do not hesitate to take this tour!
- Lekkerduiken00Great experience !!!We did 2 Tours with our family (4). The Mumbai Bicycle Tour and the Sanjay Colony Slum Tour in Delhi. Both very interesting. Nice to talk to the guides and see parts of Mumbai and Delhi that you would never find yourselves. Both tours ended with enjoyable meals. Great experience !!!
- chriswF6388QK00Go hungry 😀Another great experience with reality tours… go hungry, pace yourself and don’t order too much so there is no waste… at the end we were certainly full, tried all the street food types you see and it was all safe, we did not get sick. It was a great evening
- chriswF6388QK00Amazing tourThis was an amazing tour. Our guide explained all about dharavi and put our minds at rest about whether it was okay to visit. We discussed many of the issues they face in Mumbai. It all came across as such a positive experience and well worth you time to give them your support
- chriswF6388QK00Great tour and primer on BollywoodWhat a great tour… we did not no much about Bollywood to be honest but do now, having had the process and history of styles all explained. We were taken on set to see the props and how they were made, even seeing part of a shoot. (Note these are series not films)… a great morning and great guide
- AONE500An excellent experience with an ethical company that gives back to the commnity.I took four tours with Reality Tours, and all were excellent - all had very knowledgeable guides who took the time to answer my questions and provided a great running commentary. In addition to the slum tour, I saw Temples and Markets, Public Transport and also sampled street food. You may be concerned about the street food, though I suffered no gastric issues at all and the experience was excellent. I recommend this company not only for the quality of the tours and guide, also for the reinvestment that they make in the local community. Clearly, they are not there just for personal gain - there is a whole ethos around building better for the areas they tour in. Extra kudos to them for continuing to run the tours I booked despite the low numbers booking due to the monsoon lull. Drop them a mail and they will combine tours for you. Please support this worthy enterprise, as others have - you won't be disappointed.
- Culture2352336140800Good Driver ,Exxillent tour!I did the Mumbai street food tour with my partner and we had a great time. It was a good introduction to Indian food and we learnt so much. The food was delicious and there was a lot of walking to help off set the large amount of it. Would recommend to anyone to do!
- LakshmiW1900Brilliant food tourAn EXCEPTIONAL street food tour. Everything was delicious and our guide was so knowledgeable. I would do it again tomorrow! Make sure you have an empty stomach, there is a lot of food to eat!

mumbai is an amazing city and I loved it but there is a city with the city that everyone should visit- #dharavi the largest #slums in the world. Made famous by the film #slumdogmillionaire and book #qanda we went on a tour with realitytoursandtravel - part of the NGO realitygives who give back to the community and employ Dharavi residents. We had the brilliant Sabina as our guide. You can't take pictures when in Dharavi and tbh it's so nice to just be in the moment and respect that you are in someone's home.Learnt so much about life there and how innovative people are and what and how supportive the community is. We also tagged on a #streetart tour in a neighbouring area, where we could take pictures. A must do in mumbai

Very thoughtful and a meaningful look at a community it would be hard to access without a guide. Still frustrating that the sewage issue is so intense, but glad to see the school and community center.

This was absolutely a highlight of our trip. Raj was an amazing guide; he patiently answered all of our questions, and we learned so much about Dharavi. It was especially wonderful meeting members of the community. The street art was also gorgeous! We enjoyed this tour so much, we booked several more with Reality Tours, and they were all fantastic. 10/10 would recommend!

I was a bit unsure of touring 'the slums' but Chathan explained their work and culture so well it put me at ease and I didnt feel uncomfortable just really impressed with the work/industry by those living there. A fascinating trip finished off with a tour of the the street art - loved it.

80% of the profits are returned to Dharavi and other communities. Our guide, Chetan, was exceptional and grew up in a similar community. I find it difficult to use the word ‘slum’ after the tour. While the people live and work in difficult circumstances foreign to me, I discovered hard working people, welcoming and friendly, clean well maintained homes, close family and community relationships and so much more. Thank you for educating me, helping the community with your programs and breaking down my misconceptions.

I've been to Mumbai several times over the years and held myself back from doing a "slum" tour for fear that it may be intrusive and taking advantage of less advantaged communities. Reality Tours put my mind at ease - booking with them was fast, met the tour guide Javed at the train station and we began our walk through the commerical and residential parts of Dharavi. It was informative, eye opening and humbling. A very different experience to what I had in my head and what Reality Tours is doing - changing perceptions about the hard working community and their lives - is amazing. We had a hundred questions but Javed was so knowledgeable and kind, patiently answering all we asked. I'd book with them again the next time I'm here, and highly recommend going with someone that is working to fund educational programs within the community. Thank you for a brilliant experience.

We chose a great time to take a tour as the Ganpati celebrations were taking place. Nano and Raj were very personable and didn't miss a beat after a two year pause due to COVID. I plan on doing more tours with this company in other cities.

We did the Dharavi Slum tour. What an experience is this. We learned a lot about the life in Dharavi and got the chance to see a lot about the life people have there. Our tour guide was really kind and really took the time to explain, lives there by himself, We had a lot of fun with him. Thanks for the amazing time. The money you pay for the tour is defenitely worth it, big part goes also to the community.

This tour from reality tours&travels was one of the best tours i‘ve ever done.
Javen has been an amazing guide growing up in the slums itself. So he knew every corner of the streets and could show me around easily. He spoke english very well and explained everything in detail.
It was a great experience to see Mumbai from e different side, talking to some inhabitants and learn how people live and work there.
Thank you very much!
