About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Shanga760 contributionsThe Guide was a little off-puttingThe tour overall was fine, with some truly memorable highlights, particularly the Bollywood Studios experience and the broader exploration of Mumbai. However, the slum component was very confronting, as expected, and gave us a lot to reflect on. Unfortunately, the experience was soured towards the end. Despite giving the guide and driver a generous tip, the guide followed us out of the car, begging for more money to buy medicine for his sick mother. While we value generosity and understand the challenges many face, we found this behaviour off-putting, especially given the emotional impact of just having toured the slums. It left an awkward impression at the conclusion of an otherwise interesting day.Written 6 December 2024

- BackPacker8262320 contributionsOn-Screen Magic and Real-Life SetsThe organization of the tour was seamless, and Lawrence, our guide, truly brought the magic of Bollywood to life, sharing captivating insights into both the on-screen glamour and the hard work behind the scenes, with glimpses of live sets in action. Pushkar was a fantastic driver, ensuring we reached each location safely and comfortably. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a glimpse into the world of Bollywood!Written 11 November 2024

I appreciated the fact that he was not pushy as in having to up sell additional services or introducing to his contacts. Would highly recommend him to provide you a tour of MumbaiWritten 5 November 2024
- O6502HNelsam0 contributionsA great day!Wonderful day with our guide Lawrence who showed a lot to us and always adapting with what we wanted to see, even outside the studios. He was always making sure that we enjoyed each moment!! Perfect!! A little bit disappointed with the settings compared to what is shown on the website though. Thank you very much Lawrence!! It was a great day thanks to you!!Written 26 October 2024
- javiereM5359UA0 contributionsExpensive but coolIt was a great experience being able to see two different studios making part of the bollywood industry. As a fan of bollywood movies it was a dream coming true. We could also see two different set being live filming and could apreciate the way how they organize everything before the regisseur say 《action and cut》. It would have been great if we could get some more details about the camera equipment or have a look into a storyboard. The sound recording in which we also took part was also a great experience. Although we did find the dance show a bit disapointing, knowing how dance choreographie look like in bollywood movies, it didn't represent half of it... The meal was ok... I was maybe expecting to be able to choose my order... Our guide Rahul is a very cool, nice person and we were fewling very comfortable around him. Also the driver Sarfaraj was very very kind and nice to be around. Finally we can say that we had a great experience as fan of bollywood movies, but to be honest the price was for sure exagerated.Written 23 October 2024
- francisn20170 contributionsAbsolutely perfect and unforgettable experienceOh my god this was a totally unplanned trip and upon arriving at our Hotel in Mumbai, we asked at the Hotel Desk for a day trip tour as we only had a day in India. To our surprise we were told we could go to Delhi and Visit Taj Mahal and Few attractions and return within the same day and we were referred to Bollywood Tours. It just took a matter of minutes to send our details and everything was booked, Airline tickets , pick up and drop off. To our surprise we were given a VIP tour of Taj Mahal which took so much less time than it would normally have, Our Drivers made sure we were on time to airport and back and everything was just perfect. I would recommend anyone needing tours in India to feel absolutely stress free and let these guys do what they are so amazing at !!!!! Our Tour Guide at Taj Mahal was definately very knowledgeable and knew what he talking about, attention to detail and well versed, not scripted. It felt natural and some of the stories about the Love of Mughal Emperor actually raised goosebumps along the wayWritten 19 October 2024
- Bongtrvllr0 contributionsA Great Expedition to Behind the Scene of a movie makingThe Bollywood Tour experience was simply amazing. We did got a detailed understanding on the efforts being put in while making a movie or a Television mega serial. Our tour guide Mr.Rahul Sharma was simply superb. He explained everything in details... Be it the designing of sets, shooting floor, activities and roles of crews, camera man, art director, directors, producers etc etc. We enjoyed thoroughly and look forward to have another round sometime in future.Written 17 October 2024
- B6136EOlilyd0 contributionsGreat experience! Thank you Divya! This was a very fun tour. We did the Bollywood studio tour plus the city tour option and had a lovely tour guide with Divya. We had been in Mumbai for a few days, but certainly felt the city tour was worth it, even though we had toured the city by ourselves previously. We went to a few new places, and Divya was a kind, informed guide who gave us many new insights! As for Bollywood…wow. We went through the sets, but the really remarkable moment was getting to watch multiple filmings and speak with the actors! Between takes, they would talk to us about their work and families. Can you imagine anyone in Hollywood being so nice? (Hint: probs not, haha). We got to see two different shows being filmed, which felt truly incredible that we were allowed to do so. Definitely a once in a lifetime experience. Very glad we did this tour. We were so glad to have Divya taking us around. It felt like walking around Mumbai with a friend. Thank you for your knowledge, kindness and interest in your city!Written 13 October 2024
- styrmire20210 contributionsAuthentic local delightsWe were really happy with our guide who was both a relaxed person but also very on point when it came to the tour. He took us through very busy streets to the best tasting restaurants we’ve been to on this trip. From street snacks to dessert puddings! We also went on the city tour which also was very nice although some areas were closed… very happy about the tours and thanks to our amazing guide!Written 12 October 2024

The slum part was very good. My guide's name is Rahul, he made my slum tour a happy journey. He is a resident in the slum so he basically knows every single part of the community. If you only had half day in Mumbai and can only visit one place, I strongly recommend the slum tour, but doesn't necessary come with the Bollywood tour if you were not a big fan of Bollywood.
Don't get me wrong, the Bollywood part of this tour is good as well. My guide (sorry I don't remember his name) is helpful and passionate about his job. You really get the chances to stand right behind the cameras to see how lots of popular Indian TV shows are recorded. Right, TV shows, not movies, if you were not extremely lucky. Movies may only come here if they need to film in a court, prison, or hospital. Normally Bollywood movies are filmed in a big studio called film city, so all the "Khans" are normally working over there. But I heard visitors can't get close to any camera or Bollywood celebs even paid for a tour over there. So this tour is more real, and we can get much closer. However, you may not recognise any face in the studio if you were not a big fan of India TV shows. Please don't expect to get a photo with Anil Kapoor like the ad shows. You would have been extremely lucky if you got the chance to even see his car parking in the car park...
And, yeah, the lunch was awesome! Not a typical tour group lunch place. It has high rating on Trip Advisor. My lunch was included in my package.

The slum tour was very informative, personalized, and non-invasive. I felt safe and comfortable for the majority of the tour. Our guide was very flexible and informative about the slums and their inner-workings.

November 24 2019 I did the Bollywood with slum tour. It was two very different but great experiences.
The guide Ms Asmita has great knowledge about Bollywood and we really got behind the scenes. We got to see a real Bollywood dance performance with amazing dancers. The only bad thing was that when we got to the studios they told us that there is no recording today because it was Sunday. The whole place was pretty empty. I think they should have informed us about that when we made the reservations.
In the afternoon we went on to the slum tour. The slum tour was a great learning experience and we had a fantastic guide named Rahul. For me it’s important with authentic experiences and I have to say this was the really the thing. It can’t be more authentic than this. Rahul did a great job showing us that it’s so much more to the slums than you see on tv

We did the slum and Bollywood tour. Our tour guide for the slum was a very knowledgeable guide and he had very much understanding of the industry and business activity taking place in the slum. This is a tour where you will see things that a typical tourist experience will not see such as people taking trash and converting it into useable metal/plastic (recycling process) and how large pieces of leather are taken and converted into useable products such as a purse or wallet. We saw the actual production space where workers are in conditions that would be considered poor by Western standards (ie. lack of air conditioning, poor lighting, etc.) For the Bollywood tour, it was actually only a single studio in Mumbai that we saw. We got to see how they actually setup and film scenes for a television show. The lunch included in the tour was pretty good, too. It was a set menu with a chicken dish, biryani, and naan. I believe they can do a vegetarian offering, too.

I had a wonderful tour by the amazing guide Rahul. It is very much worth the time (half day) and cost and I think anybody passing through Mumbai should do it!!
Firstly, I am a young Asian female and did the trip by myself, but felt entirely safe and comfortable the entire time.
The tour of the city including Dharavi was extremely informative, with depth and facts, but also with fun emotional stories. We went to hanging garden, Ghandi Museum etc.
I also did the Bollywood tour the next day, with a different guide.
Although the guide was extremely professional and knowledgeable, I personally thought spending a whole half day in one studio was a bit excessive. I personally would prefer a cheaper tour with a quick 2 hrs. But still fun to see the sets and some stars ;)

I did the half day bollywood and half day slum tour with a group of friends from around the world. Our tour guide was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic. You could tell that he was having so much fun himself on the bollywood tour! The slum part of the tour was done incredibly tastefully (you cannot take photos) and once again, our guide was extremely knowledgeable and easy to understand. The slum tour is definitely a not-to-miss educational and important experience when visiting Mumbai and India in general.

Had a really great experience walking through the Dharavi slums where "Slumdog Millionaire" was filmed with Vishal. He was knowledgeable and is a local in the are. Went with Asmita to see SJ studio, which was so amazing. We got to play in the recording studio, meet soap opera stars who let us take pics with them, see Bollywood dancers perform, and watch a movie being filmed. Couldn't have asked for a better day.

It was a comprehensive tour spread over two legs; A Bollywood studio tour and a tour of Dharavi Slum.
Initially both tours were supposed to be on the same day. However, because Wednesday was a public holiday, there was no filming on. They facilitated us and split the tour over two days.
The slum tour was a very good and sobering experience and we’d recommend it to anyone visiting Mumbai. The guide was a Dharavi local so provided excellent insight into real life in Dharavi.
Our guide Gurmit was very nice and helpful and brought us to a lovely vegetarian restaurant after the tour for lunch. Cost of the lunch was included in the tour costs.
Gurmit and the driver took every opportunity to explain different sites as we drove through Mumbai, even stopping to allow us to get out or take pictures where possible.
We would definitely recommend the combined Bollywood and slum tour to anyone visiting Mumbai.
