Mumbai Dhobi Ghat and Dharavi tour
Guide was really informative and as he lived in the slums he was the perfect person to give a true insight to life in this part of Mumbai. Great tour finishing with chai after lots of walking.

    Superb!
We had a private programme with Hareshbasbour guide. He met us at the meeting points on time and accompany along the boat through the caves. He explained and told us many stories about the cave and Hindu believe regards Shiva. It was very interesting and enjoyable through the programme.

    Very good itinerary
This tour was very good and covered a lot of territory. Both the laundry and Dharavi were thoroughly explained and we were provided with an invaluable and culturally sensitive perspective. Upon arrival we were told the Dabbawalla portion couldn’t run because of the holiday (understandable) but no partial refund or alternative option was given. We also spent an hour waiting for/tracking down a guest which took away from the substance of the already trimmed down tour. None of these unfortunate happenings was the tour guides’s fault. He was professional, approachable, and clearly loves his city. I would recommend!

    Eye-opening
Dharavi is a vibrant, multifaceted community, once entirely informal but now with homes, factories, schools, supermarkets and more. This tour is eye-opening because, despite the haphazard buildings, narrow alleyways and such, it's not what most of us would imagine when we hear the word "slum". It's more like a working-class neighborhood. Our guide Alam lives in Dharavi and brought the place to life for us. Guides work in consultation with the community, to avoid intruding too much - photos of people's homes are discouraged, for example, and relatively conservative attire is best to avoid offending those who live there. There's a plan to redevelop the area, with investors set to make a lot of money from the prime Mumbai real estate. The question is what kind of community that would leave for the residents.

    Beautiful and unexpected
Our guide Harish was on time, charming and informative and he lives on the island, which made it even more interesting. There was no wait to get on a ferry at the Gateway, and the 1-hour ride to Elephanta was smooth - you might have to wait at busy times on a Sunday. The island is green and quiet despite being surrounded by large-scale examples of India's modern infrastructure. The caves themselves are stunning in scale and the rock carvings are beautiful. The walk up is not too taxing, and there are distractions like amusing-annoying monkeys, while the toy train ride from the jetty only goes along the flat part and takes about as long as walking. The tour finishes with the ferry returning to the Gateway with great Mumbai skyline views, smog permitting. It will take 5+ hours total and is 100% worth the time.

    Automatically humbling and eye-opening
We both really enjoyed this experience and the guide we had added and made it more enjoyable. Filled with knowledge and being a local himself. We felt it was such a humbling experience for us both and definitely would do it again, given the opportunity.

    Perfect tour
Personalized which made it even better- some of the stops on the tour I had seen so the guide pivoted and gave me a unique experience even though I didn’t expect it. The morning markets are a great insight to the people and my guides willingness to help explain questions and give a truly unique experience. I’d book this tour again in a heartbeat.

A wonderful step back in time
This is yet another must do tour while visiting Mumbai. The tour of the caves was incredible and our tour guide Nitin was excellent, not only giving us great information, but also serving as our photographer to ensure we got the best pictures with the best angles. After the tour of the caves he even showed us around his village and his home, to give us a real view is what life is like for the people of Elephanta Island. A once in a lifetime experience that is highly recommended. Thanks again Nitin!

Amazing not to be missed Mumbai tour
From start to finish we were well looked after by our guide Maze and our driver. Very comprehensive and personalised tour. It was all superb, but we loved the train ride, best of all. Cannot praise Maze enough. He really knows his stuff. Only in Mumbai a few days and this tour allowed us to capture the flavour of the city.

Very nice guided tour through Mumbai
You get to see the most important sights of Mumbai, like the Gateway of India, the Dabbawallas and the Dhobighat (which I have never heard of before!). Included in the tour is also a walk through the Dharavi Slum. At first I did not want to go because I felt it would be voyeuristic as a white german woman. But since my guide Dawood was from Dharavi I felt more comfortable taking the tour because he told a lot of personal stories and explained a lot about Dharavi and I had a real change of perspective here. He even recommended me a nice restaurant after the tour ended. :)

Punctual pick up at port and very friendly knowledgeable guide (Daz) Daz met us at the port entrance and then called the driver who was with us in minutes. Friendly good driver with nice air conditioned car. Daz then explained all the places we were going to visit and the sort of schedule for the day. At every stop he would ensure that we had seen and understood everything and we were happy before moving on. The inside laundry tour was excellent. The lunch stop was also good and again we were looked after with authentic food. Overall we would highly recommend this tour you get to see lots with a knowledgeable guide and a great day was had by all. Easy port drop off at the end of the day. Thanks

I did the private tour including a visit to Elephanta Caves.

When I visited Mumbai I did two different private city tours, both tours were great. If I would summarize the difference I’d say the other tour was a bit better organized, both guide and driver met me at the hotel (here just the driver), the other tour has water in the car and the guide wore a shirt from the company. I also had a bit better personal connection with the other guide but that’s personal preference and Rameez was always friendly as well.

However this tour gave the better informational value. I visited a few spots again with this tour but Rameez added a ton of additional information about each destination that was not given before. So in the end I might have had the nicer personal chats with the other guide but here I got much more city knowledge, you decide what’s more important.

Rameez also made some adjustments to the tour so we don’t visit all the same destinations again. Most memorable was visiting a temple and we were lucky enough to catch a ceremony in exactly the right time so we could experience it, which was something I won’t forget.

One recommendation I have is cool it with the upsell. Each tour tried to sell me additional tours from them, some kept bringing it up too often. Here I think it was okay not too bothersome but borderline.

On the Elephanta caves there is a different local guide which is required. It’s a 1 hour boat trip and I was accompanied by our patient driver who then sat at the docks waiting for me to accompany me back and then drive me to the hotel, so thank you Mr. Surrender for your patience.

Elephanta caves were great, lots of information given here as well. My guide explained all different forms of Shiva to me (it was almost too much information to digest). It was great, I haven’t seen anyone else getting such a detailed explanation. The only small issue that clouded the experience a bit was at the end when I was asked if I want to purchase anything I declined and I felt the atmosphere cool down a bit and the guide was then just rushing me off the island although I made sure to tip him, that was a bit of a sad end to an overall great tour.

All in all if you want to visit many of the local attractions (train station, hanging gardens, laundry etc) and want to learn a lot from Rameez I fully recommend this tour and the guide.

A truly comprehensive and enjoyable tour of Mumbai. Our guide Alam Taught us some amazing facts about Mumbai’s history and have us an invaluable insight into the city’s different religions. Although there are COVID restrictions in place, we were able to see everything we wanted to see. Alam even went to the effort of taking us to additional sites. He was an easy man to get along with and we had a lot of laughs along the way.
The car was immaculately clean and air conditioned. We also had water provided for us, as well as hand sanitizer. Both Alam and the driver wore masks throughout, and the restaurant we went to had amazing food and impeccable hygiene standards. I would recommend this tour to anyone and if I revisit Mumbai I Will do the tour again myself.

Our hotel was quite far away, and Amaze Tours was upfront with the extra 1000 rupees this would cost for pickup... Well worth it for the drive.
They also let us add another couple to the tour last minute so they were very accommodating.

Our tour guide was Oves, and he had excellent knowledge about all the stops and went above and beyond. We stopped at the open air laundry, and we were blown away by the view of it. We happened to say "would be neat to go on there" and he said "come on" he talked to the manager, and they toured us through the whole facility.

He gave us a heads up when anyone was trying to sell us anything, what was a good price for it or if the prices at that place are already fair.

All the other stops were excellent. Stops included the train station, the gateway of India, Ghandi museum, and the local market, and a few gardens. Other landmarks were pointed out along the drive. Oves was extremely knowledgeable and was able to answer all of our questions. Should I ever want to do another tour of Mumbai, it will be through Oves.

If you're coming to Mumbai, you must do this tour. There's no better use of time and money than to have this experience first-hand. Our guide Alam was knowledgeable, well-spoken, and friendly. We were able to get a feel for each part of the city without ever feeling lost or vulnerable. This is the best way to experience Mumbai. I recommend booking at the beginning of a trip so that you can get your bearings when visiting the city for the first time. Leave all your expectations at the airport and bring an open mind to truly experience the way the locals live. It's a humbling experience that provides a great deal of perspective in life. I'm appreciative for the wonderful service that Amaze and Alam provide. Book this tour. You won't regret it.

Fantastic tour with our guide Dinish (apologies if spelled incorrectly). We were staying on in northern Mumbai and so had an early start. We took in so many sights on the trip and Dinish was very quick to fill us in and show us this amazing city. Our driver was a lovely gent who dropped and picked us up from each sight we got out to see. Definetly recommend this tour!!

We only had one full day in Mumbai and this was the perfect way to spend it to really feel like we had seen as much of the city as possible. Our guide Rameez was wonderful and made sure we were well taken care of and well informed during the tour. The bus they provided had way more than enough room for our group and was comfortable. The driver was capable and we felt safe even in the crazy Mumbai traffic. I would say without a doubt this tour is worth your money and more. Would highly recommend.

Had an amazing tour of Mumbai on 20th December. Myself, husband and daughter really enjoyed hearing about the city, the history and traditions. The tour was very thorough covering the main sights and also taking you to places you might not usually have seen without a guide.
Dinesh (our guide) was a friendly guy, whose knowledge of Mumbai was excellent. His English is great and explains things well without feeling rushed. We experienced the real Mumbai and have fantastic memories for life. Suresh (our driver) was very experienced driving in Mumbai’s traffic.
Mumbai is an excellent city. This tour is highly recommended. Thanks for a great day Dinesh.

Fantastic whistle cultural and heritage tour of Mumbai. Tour guide Alam was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. He and the driver Babu went out of their way to introduce me to a taste of the real life of Mumbai residents and workers as well as the major heritage and cultural and religious sites. I would strongly recommend to anyone who would like to get to know this bustling but charming city and its everyday life
