- 660kathryng0 contributionsIndia travelsWe went on an Indian tour, Taj, Rajasthan and Beyond, booked through MyCruises, which used GoIndia, a local tour company. I have nothing but praise and gratitude for our amazing tour guide, Rasvir Saurana. He went above and beyond to make our holiday really enjoyable and exciting. He was extremely knowledgeable and expert and went the extra mile to accommodate the large, varied group of people on our tour. He was able to manage and ensure that we were all considered and looked after, as when in India you can expect the unexpected and nothing goes to plan. The driver and copilot were also very experienced, professional, friendly, helpful and extremely good at their job. The bus was always in tip top condition, clean, reliable and punctual. Overall we very much enjoyed the tour and have returned with so many wonderful memories.Written 24 November 2023

- stefan_47110815189020 contributionsMany great adventures in RajasthanWe travelled in February 2020 just before the whole world went into corona lockdown. Our trip announced as multi adventure tour has fully fulfilled all the promises made upfront and much more. We took airplanes, buses, bikes, boats and also made a lot of walks - even this was a nice adventure. Specially at the three days biking through Rajasthans landscape we saw people living on the farms, working on their fields, a school from inside, marriages and much more. In the cities we saw many cultural highlights, all the colors of the markets and people and even had a lot of of fun with the nice group of people we travelled with. Sarah and her team from Chalo made these weeks to a wonderful experience - not only the tourists view was shown but also a view of the real life in India with all the nice things but not ignoring the problems and issues they have to deal with. It was our 2nd trip to India, and this trip was much better than the 1st one organized by another company (and we saw the tigers!). We would always book another trip with Sarah to experience new India adventures.Written 3 February 2021
- 255janar0 contributionsAmazing! I am ready to go again :-DI did several tours with Sarah and Chalo Travels, 10 and 5 years ago and it was just amazing! Sarah knows a lot about the places your traveling with Chalo and showed us beautiful local places, she and/or her colleagues told us interesting stories about history and traditions and we did a lot of fun activities like hiking, biking, cooking classesi, camel safari. Sarah felt in love with India and you can feel this - I am very impressed by everything she build up with Chalo Travels. You will get a intense and lively impression of India - and once it is to lively for you, Sarah will know some quite places for a little rest ;-) An extra plus: Sarah is a very experienced Yoga teacher, so you can combine your trip with some extra yoga classes!Written 2 February 2021
- JuliaFrankonia0 contributionsFull with exciting and great experiencesI started the tour in February 2020 - so before the world changed. The 2 weeks flew by so quickly and I enjoyed every minute. I felt so welcomed and cared by Sarah and her team - that was amazing. Also the accommodation was always a very good and suitable choice. The programme was full with exciting and great experiences, but you also had the chance taking some time to relax. Thinking back, I have so many colorful and happy pictures in my mind, I don't have that single one outstanding. Highlights for sure starts with the bike trekking, calming down and arriving in indian's way of life. Wander around Udaipur, Jodhpur, Jaipur and enjoy Pushkar. Most amazing - Tiger in Rathambore NP and last but not least the Taj Mahal. To finish this trip with some relaxing days at Goa before returning into everyday life - that was perfect.Written 2 February 2021

The full day cycling tour is amazing. David, the guide adjusted the tour according to our wishes and fitness level. He showed us beautiful places and tried his best to make our day as perfect as possible. We would definitely like to go on more cycle tours with David.

The idea of a bike tour in India was very attractive, but the organization and structure of the activity leave room for improvement. We don’t just cross India for a bike ride in the forest; it would be interesting to incorporate more tourist and cultural attractions to enrich the experience. The itinerary sometimes seemed improvised, with no real conductor, which somewhat reduced the interest of the circuit.
In addition, the level of difficulty of the route should be clearly indicated to the participants. Some climbs are particularly demanding and the descents sometimes resemble downhill, which is not accessible to everyone. A better explanation of physical expectations before booking would avoid surprises and allow everyone to make an informed choice.
The experience still has beautiful assets – beautiful scenery and a change of scenery – but a better balance between physical effort and cultural discovery, as well as more precise communication about the level of difficulty, would make it a much more attractive activity.
