Our Taj Mahal guide was minimum effort. Spent half the time on his mobile phone too. We could’ve done just as well going to the Taj Mahal on our own.

10th March 2020, in the midst of the Covid 19 pandemic, we set out on our escorted tour of North India arranged through Mercury Travel. It was a very well organised tour and good value for money as all meals and entrance fees to tourist sites were included. We stayed at The Park Hotel in Delhi at the start and the end of our holiday The standard of accommodation was better at the start of the trip although we had an extra unscheduled two nights at the end of the trip due to issues with Covid 19 restrictions so did not complain. This was by far the most expensive hotel for drinks with the inside bar charging more than the pool bar. We did not find out till later that they were run be two separate companies. Loved the Ranthambore Regency, would have liked more than one night here, our bungalow style room was great. Lovely pool and bar area with best prices and best food too. This tour was very well organised, there was a lot of coach travel but we were given sufficient breaks. As there were only 16 in our group on a coach, not a small mini bus, we had plenty of room and were able to spread out. We had not done an escorted tour before but would do one again. Our group got on well together and this made the tour even better. You have to be prepared to interact with the group as you spend a lot of time together.

My wife and I did the Golden Triangle tour with the TripaDeal group in February.....Delhi - Jaipur - Agra - Delhi. It was a great tour, seeing and experiencing the true Indian culture and way of life. Well worth doing.
