About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Sam R0 contributionsA must see in DelhiDefinitely a must visit when coming to Delhi. Super interesting to see wander around the old markets which are extremely active and not at all just for tourists. Be aware when using a guide that they will regularly take you to shops that give “best prices” but are in fact extremely overpriced compared to anywhere else that sells the same productsWritten 6 March 2025
- cj_punk_0090 contributionsAmazing Tour. Definitely go with these guys!I went on a Street Art tour, and Dolly killed it! I actually went on a tour in the morning with a guide and driver that also went to Lodhi Gardens, but I learned way more from Dolly. I also very much appreciate perspectives on current news and events in India like she discussed. I'm going to book another tour with them based off this one, and honestly, kinda wish I did my multi-day tour with them. And all that is just based off of the quality of the tour. When you throw in that the company is an NGO that not only 80% of their profits to better the community, but also that they give people in the slums the skills to get jobs and better themselves, and additional opportunities for employment... Yeah, these guys are awesome.Written 6 March 2025
- Mert13000 contributionsOff the beaten track in DelhiI wasn't sure what to expect from this tour and am so glad I chose to go. I was the only participant and my guide Komal had an obvious passion for her work. She gave great insight about the activities and industries being undertaken by residents, as well the history of Sanjay Colony and the work of the Reality Gives organisation. I recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see one of the other sides of Delhi.Written 15 February 2025
- O7401BRrebeccaa0 contributionsInteresting and beautiful street muralsVery interesting tour of the street murals in Lodhi Art District. The murals were very interesting and beautiful. The guide was very knowledgeable about the murals and offered many times to take my photo or record a video. We also visited a nice garden, but I skipped the Khan market because I was very tired from jet lag and needed to get back to my hotel to rest.Written 31 January 2025
- O7401BRrebeccaa0 contributionsExcellent tour - don't missExcellent tour. I highly recommend this tour. I was mostly interested in the markets, especially the spice market, however, the tours of the temples and mosque were very interesting. My tour guide was Dolly and she provided so much information. I think the highlights were the Sikh temple and community kitchen and learning about the communal meals; and the Jain temple, seeing and smelling the offerings of spices and rose petals - really a wonderful experience.Written 31 January 2025
- U9390QGsusanh0 contributionsExperince another side of DelhiI went to India to immerse myself in Indian culture. This tour was part of the plan. Our guide, Kushi was very knowlegable about the colony. She was also very respectful of the community we visited. No photos allowed as we were "not visiting a zoo". We really toured the nitty gritty but felt safe the whole time. It was also good to take the metro with our guide to get there as another experience of Indian life. I would highly recommend this tour.Written 29 January 2025
- AdamB52340 contributionsA Must-See TourThis is a must-see tour, the art is beautiful and meaningful. It was nice to take a bike tuk tuk around to see the art as that sped things up. Ending the tour walking through the Lodhi Gardens is a great way to experience some greenery and hear birds chirping away. The tour guide did a lovely job explaining each mural and was filled with information as we walked around Lodhi Gardens. This your gives you a great way to see a different area of Delhi. Highly recommend.Written 20 January 2025
- Susan H0 contributionsExperiencing another side of DelhiKushi was a wonderful guide She carefully guided us up down and around the Sanjay Colony She was full of information and very respectful about life in the colony. This tour was a once in a lifetime walkWritten 19 January 2025
- Evetei0 contributionsHeartfelt experienceI had a lovely afternoon with my guide Kiran at the sanjay slum. She was showing me lots of different places in a slum and she gave me lots of understanding about people's everyday life in Sanjay Slum. Heartfelt experience 🙏🏽❤️Written 17 January 2025
- JMC22220 contributionsGreat tourWe had a brilliant tour with guide Naresh and driver Dharminder. WE were clear as to what. Interested us and that shaped the tour. Naresh really knew his stuff and was able to fill us in on lots of aspects of Indian life - not just where we were. We were very happy with our experience. We chose Reality tours as they are a social enterprise and 80% of their profit goes into support for the disadvantaged in IndiaWritten 5 January 2025
- 259candice0 contributionsHappy community doing the needful day to dayAmazing experience! Naresh was so informative and patient with our young son who is 8 and asked A LOT of questions. Very well organised. A must to see and very family friendly. Thank you again!Written 28 December 2024
- naturegirl20190 contributionsDo it!The tour guide was very sweet, knowledgable, and an interesting person. She was so patient with me, even as I took a break to feed stray dogs. The only issue was finding the tour guide, as there is no signage. But, I called the agency, and was able to find her after that - It wasn't her fault at all - it's a signage issue.Written 25 December 2024
- Mgraffin0 contributionsHiring the local guide in Agra was the best decision I made when booking this tourI booked with this company on the basis of their Tripadvisor reviews and the fact that they support a local NGO. I had originally planned to take one of their Dehli specific tours, but the prospect of spending a day in the terrible smog forced me to revise my travel plans. I booked the Same day Taj tour with the optional extra of hiring a local guide in Agra. We visited the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, and MK Handicrafts, a marble inlay workshop run by one of descendants of some of the craftspeople who decorated the Taj Mahal. My driver was right on time in the morning (which is pretty amazing for India, especially considering Dehli traffic) and very professional. We picked up our local guide, Pradeet, in Agra, who helped me navigate the rather overwhelming crowds and ticket purchases at the various attractions. I would strongly recommend bringing a few thousand rupees in cash for the entry tickets and tips - credit cards are apparently accepted, but its a bit of a process. We were very blessed to visit Agra on a smog free day, and the tour was well worth what I paid. It was a long day, but I was able to fulfill a lifelong dream, and learned a great deal about India's long and colourful history. I look forward to travelling with this company again when I return to India.Written 15 December 2024

- Passenger347166060910 contributionsFun and educational toursMy husband and I toured around Old Delhi markets and temples with Kavita. It was interesting to see such a bustling part of the capital, and we also learned a lot about its history (just be ready for the strong smell of spices!). I particularly liked that the tour includes temples from three religions. Our guide Kavita was so nice and fun. I also did the Sanjay Colony slum tour with Tavrej. Again, it was a very educational and worthwhile experience. Tavrej is a great guide, and it was inspiring to see the work of fabric recycling as well as Reality Gives’ activities in that community.Written 11 December 2024

This is a must do in Delhi! Before finding this tour, I wanted to indulge in the flavorful and delectable street food, but I was afraid of falling ill. Sourav assured us all the many delicious stops were completely vetted for sanitation and food quality by reality trips and tours. Sourav hunted down the best of the best food stops, rich in flavor and history, that were passed down generations. This was the perfect experience, with a balanced blend of entrancing history of Old Delhi, insider information on the architecture and the markets of Chandi Chowk, and countless food stops that sent us spiraling into food paradise. Sourav was constantly checking in us, ensuring comfort, answering questions, and ordering all the food and drinks that we were aching to try. Sourav was an exceptional guide, not only leading us safely through thr chaos of Chandi Chowk but becoming a true friend, recommending lesser known must-see Delhi attractions and offering his assistance for thr rest of our duration in India! This food tour was very reasonably priced and exceeded our expectations and more. Each day I find myself craving the mouthwatering food we shared!

Food tour was so much fun! The streets were bustling as it was a holiday weekend, but that just added to the experience. Our tour guide, Sam, was great and gave great insights on the food and history of the city. I highly recommend checking out this tour of you want to experience where the locals eat.

We did the afternoon food tour that started at 1 pm. We met our guide at the Metro Station and he explained what the tour would encompass and what we would be eating. After that was complete, he walked us into the Metro to take the train to Old Delhi.
Once we got off the train, it was one great food item after another. The tour was not only about food, but we learned a lot of history about Old Delhi. We stopped at about 10 different places and tried all kinds of foods.
At one point, we passed groups of people sitting in two groups outside restaurants while walking down a narrow street to our next food spot. I asked our guide if they were waiting for free bread and he explained that they were waiting for a free meal as they were poor. People eating at the restaurants can leave a few Rupees and when they have 50 Rupees total, they make a plate for one person. As we were eating our fried chicken, I asked if I could buy a bunch of meals for these people and my friend also wanted to do the same. The guide walked us back to the restaurants and explained that we wanted to buy meals for those people. They agreed and we paid them. Before they passed out the plates, they had us touch the first one to bless and it then started to hand out all the food. It warmed our hearts that we could at least help them with this one meal.
This was an incredible tour and the part of the proceeds go to help the poor, so I cannot recommend it enough.

Coming to India for the first time can be overwhelming but our guide, Abhi (pronounced like Abbey) made us feel so comfortable and safe during our tour! Abhi had a wealth of knowledge about all things India. We appreciated his kindness and attention to detail throughout our day. We really didn’t know too much about Indian dishes beyond Chicken Tikka Masala at our local Indian restaurant, but Abhi really taught us a lot and introduced us to the culture. He answered all of our questions with detail and explained so much history as well. We enjoyed our time very much and would recommend Abhi to anyone. Thank you Abhi for such a great time!

Spent a great few hours with our guide Dolly on Monday evening doing a street food tour in Delhi. From start to finish Dolly looked after us and transported us to the various stops using a mix of Metro and Rickshaw, both bicycle and motorised. My wife, in particular, had her reservations about doing a food tour in this way as her constitution is not as robust as my own!! No need to worry though as all the eateries were well established and served delicious dishes, both savoury and sweet. Dolly was engaging and a pleasure to spend time with. As well as the food she gave us historical references and information throughout the 4 hours. We would not hesitate to recommend this tour and ask for Dolly if you want a smart and friendly guide.

My wife and I met up with Naresh for a food tour through Old Delhi. We took a quick and easy metro ride to the heart of the city and the second we arrived we were thrown back in time to a bustling market. It was amazing. The sights and smells were incredible. During the tour Naresh stopped at various food stalls with each stop being entirely different than the previous. All of them were wonderful and provided a well rounded sampling of India’s local food scene. We can’t recommend this tour enough and think anyone who visits Delhi should see this for themselves.

I did both the Delhi and Mumbai street food tours with Kavita Chaudhary and Javed Sheikh and it was a brilliant experience. both Kavita and Javed were wonderfully informed and made the tour 'come alive' for me, explaining the history of the vendors and what's in the food, alongside bonus information about life growing up in Delhi and Mumbai. It was genuinely the best thing I did in my two-week trip to India, and I would recommend everyone to engage with Reality Tours & Travel if they're travelling in India.

Easy meeting location, Rajiv chowk Metro station. Very central.
Met ahead of time by Sam, who was friendly and had great knowledge of the local area and the history of Delhi.
We travelled via Metro and Rickshaw around multiple street food vendors and eateries.
All the food was delicious, some more than others, but all of it was tasty and fresh.
The company does thorough research, so the vendors who you eat from are hygienic and registered.
This way, it prevents any illnesses or issues.
They company is a great company which also help out local communities in addition to providing top-level tours and guides!
I would 100% recommend this tour if you want to eat authentic local dishes, and also travel Old Delhi safely whilst being informed of its history.
Well done!!

We had an incredible time exploring Old Delhi with our guides Sourav and Ajay. They were both extremely professional and friendly. We felt very safe the entire tour, despite the area being somewhat chaotic. Some locals approached us throughout the tour, but Sourav and Ajay spoke to them with empathy and kindness. Reality Tours also have an NGO program where a large percentage of their profits are re-invested into local education, so you can rest assured that your money is being spent with an ethical company who cares about the community. Very grateful to be able to see a part of this city that we would find difficult navigating on our own. Oh and the food was delicious. I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Delhi 🙂

VJ was amazing! He led us through the streets of the market of Old Delhi like a pro, finding us things to eat that were safe and delicious and explaining them and watching them be made. We had enough food that we were all full by the end of it, and he gave us some history in the meantime. Afterwards he loaded us all on the subway and told us how to get where we needed to go which was very helpful! I would recommend this tour definitely!

I’m looking to book this with you, we have a 2 year old.. is he okay to come along?

I agree with Bess G. It would be too challenging to manage a 2 year old during this tour, but is a lot of fun for adults.

Hello, I was looking to book this tour for a Sunday - does the market still open to the same extent and timing on a Sunday or would a weekday be better?
Written 3 March 2019
I checked with our tour guide and she said that the shops are closed and the food stalls are open, but she recommends that you try and book this tour on a weekday.
