Great way to see Munnar with a different perspective!
Wonderful way to see a side of Munnar rarely viewed! Started on time with Mukesh. We walked thru a side street quickly gaining elevation thru Tea plantations and onto the highest point. Saw tea leaves being harvested and Mukesh also shared stories of tea plantations and various fauna and flora. Mukesh also pointed out various water reserves and hydro projects seen from the highest point. Baring a few spots the hike is a nice walk thru different landscapes. It was a great way to see a side of Munnar away from the Tourists!

Good evening hiking !!guide was great
We went for the evening trekking with munnar valley tours and found them with postive reviews and guide provide to be very knowledgable on plants and view was amazing. The walk itself was scenic and amongst nature which was very pleasant. We had snacks at the top of the hill before trekking down into the forest and back into the town. All questions were answered by the guide and we really enjoyed our time here.

Beautiful trekking with a great guide
The tea plantations are one of the most unique landscapes of the world. But you need a guide who has a sense for the beauty and knows all the paths that bring you to the most beautiful spots. Mukesh is this guide. He really takes care of you and explains you the 200 years old craft of tea cultivation. He also brought tea and cake for breakfast and fruits and snacks for lunch. He is very caring. We had a wonderful time and took great pictures.

      Good length, distance and scenery
Really good length, great variation in the route of tea plantation, hill country and forest. Not hard and not too easy. Plenty of food. Definitely got my quote of scenery and tea plantation photos! Not much chat from the guide, bit more at the end about plants but didn’t say much unless asked. I got left behind at one stage because he didn’t say ‘right shall we go type stuff’ would just make eye contact with someone then start walking, and I was there on my own sitting in front of everyone looking at the view when noticed it was quiet and turned around to find I was alone and we were up high a few hours from the start! Found the group after a slightly concerning 5 mins and the other walkers apologised to me but the guide clearly thought I’d just walked off to do my own thing because I got told off. I tried to explain he needs to communicate and check everyone is there. However! Despite that I really enjoyed it. Perhaps guide just needs some more training.

      Great hike !
Great hike ! The guide explained the flora around us, and the behavior to adopt if we cross an animal. The view was amazing and the hike medium, not hard, with a bit of elevation.

      Very enjoyable and informative
Really enjoyed this tour and would recommend! There were 5 in our group and we had a lovely walk through the tea plantations, seeing how the tea grows and taking lots of photos. Our transport was a nice blue jeep. We then went on to the tea factory tour where we learnt more about the different types of tea and how they are all produced from one plant. We joined a large group for the factory tour but this was OK as the guide there had a microphone so we could still hear him clearly. The tea tasting came at the end of the factory tour was enlightening - we now know what goes into our teabags. Fruit, snacks and drinks were provided along the way. Overall a great, well organised tour. Nagu our guide was friendly and also a good driver - important on the windy mountain roads!

      Great trekking
I recently completed a half day trekking in Munnar, and it was an unforgettable experience. The trek offers spectacular views, and I was particularly impressed by the stunning scenery. My guide, Mani, was exceptional. Throughout the trek, he explained various things, from the different peaks and places to the entire tea-making process and even various types of medicinal plants. He was open to any questions I had and even took several photos for me, so I wouldn't have just selfies. I was the only participant in that time slot, even though they neither canceled nor rescheduled it to a different time to accommodate more people. Instead, they waited for me to arrive despite my bus being significantly delayed. Their dedication made the experience truly special. I would highly recommend this trekking experience to anyone visiting Munnar!

Best tour to start my trip
This is my first time in munnar and the tour was the best start I could ask for. Paul , who was my tour guide did an amazing job of showcasing the tea plantations and taking me on a walk to the tea plantations along with to the munnar town. He is a very knowledgeable person and taught me a lot about munnar, its history as well as helped me familiarize myself with the town. This is a must trip if you are visiting munnar.

My day trip in Munnar was nothing short of spectacular, thanks to our wonderful guide, Raj. From the start, the tour was beautifully organized, covering numerous fascinating sites around Munnar. Our guide was incredibly attentive and professional, displaying an in-depth knowledge of the best times to visit each location to avoid crowds, which made our experience very pleasant.

He was exceptionally caring throughout the day, always ensuring we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves. One of the highlights was watching a stunning sunset while sipping tea, a moment that felt truly magical. His optimism and humor never waned, and he shared many interesting stories that enriched our understanding of each place.

For lunch, he provided a delicious picnic that catered well to Western tastes, which was very thoughtful. I highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to explore and truly appreciate Munnar—it was an unforgettable experience!

We found the description of this tour doesn't really match what you get so if you wanna know what you will actually do, read on.

Don't get me wrong, we really enjoyed this tour even if it wasn't entirely what we expected. The listing states 'trek' however no trekking was involved, we were taken in a jeep through the tea plantations and stopped a few times to take pictures. Unfortunately our 'knowledgeable' tour guide didn't speak much english so when we asked questions we weren't able to get answers! We didn't learn anything about the tea or spices grown in munnar and we didn't go anywhere where you could sample or buy tea. This may have been an oversight on my part, however I thought it may have included something similar to a vineyard tour/tasting.

We visited some waterfalls which we were told to go and explore and come back when you are ready.

We then went to a 'tiger cave' which was not mentioned within the tour description and of course had no tigers. Here, we enjoyed a home cooked lunch from our tour guide which included sambar, chutneys, appam and roti followed by fruits.

We headed to more waterfalls and then on to Anakulam for elephant spotting. Here we relaxed and met locals. Unfortunately we didn't see the elephants as they had been the day before - it became apparent that in winter months they only come every other day and in summer then tend to come any day. The come as early as 3pm or as late at 11/12pm - our tour guide was willing to wait until whatever time for us to see the elephants.

Overall we had a great time and saw loads but there was room for improvement.

Dear madam, It's really surprise for us to read your review , we have clearly mentioned all details briefly in the each tour itinerary separately, you had booked wild elephant & waterfalls tour with us, In this tour we have never mentioned about any trekking or tea tasting or tea factory visit, I think you got confused and had read the itinerary of tea trail tour and wrongly booked the wild elephant tour with us

We had a great afternoon. Our guide was very kind and let us stay on late to see a second group of elephants appear at the waterhole - it was magical! He was a very competent driver and we enjoyed the drive down through the tea plantation, stopping often to take photos. The picnic was lovely and we especially enjoyed the walk/ climb down to the tiger caves. We would highly recommend the company and the tour.

Amazing trip, and we saw elephants! Raj our guide was fantastic and took the time to explain the spices and tea plantations along the way, and explained things multiple times to make sure we understood :) we stopped at some amazing waterfalls and swam as well. Our guide also waited for us so we could continue watching the elephants for a long time, which we really appreciated.

There were 10 elephants, including a baby which was only a few months old. They were tentative at first but settled in, despite a festival starting in the neighbouring town. It was great to see them in their natural habitat.

    Amazing trip, definitely recommend.

We had a great tour with our guide Raj. Raj freely shared his knowledge about local culture and nature, and I specifically liked the many details about herbs and plants he showed us on the way. Raj went out of his way to accommodate our time schedule and all wishes for stops and foto opportunities, and also perfectly timed our arrival at the elephant city! Thank you!
