Exceptional Host , unforgettable Experience: A heritage walk tour with Koonan.
Koonan Proved to be an exceptional host during my exploration of the by lanes of the Latin quarter . Our journey included admiring the vibrant building , a visit to an old bakery , and exploring a Heritage home. Koonan, with pride of his Portuguese connection, shared insightful tidbits and even taught us a few Portuguese words along the way. Beyond the delectable food at the cafe , i cherished the anecdotes and local stories that only someone deeply rooted in the area could provide. Koonan's attentive demeanor ensured that everyone in the group felt valued , readily addressing any queries that arose.

      Ancient Goa Colony
A worth to visit this place which is more colourful, beautiful and very well maintained. I was very impressed after getting to know about the ancient history about that particular place. We also got a chance to visit the oldest cafe of Goa and tasted some of the unique items of Goan. I would really like to thanks Adolfina who was our ambassador for the entire journey. She is knowledgable about the place and taken us through the walk with some important and relevant places and persons who were really not know to the world. Thank you for this opportunity Soul Travelling.

Every stop of the Goan Hinterland Experience shows a different Goa than the beaches or colonial one.
We did the The Goan Hinterland Experience (Quepem) with Rajat (who was seconded by Saish). The tour was really interesting and very different from the two other trails that we did the previous days (Margao and Chandor), starting with an unusual temple dedicated to two hindu gods and heading then to a spices' plantation where we had a good Goan breakfast. It's a very different Goa than the urban / colonial side that we had visited. Every stop was worth it. As usual (third trail in a row), Rajat was passionate, clear and open to questions. The three trails were presented by three very different guides, showing the diversity of Goa and the openness of Soul travelling. Another much appreciated point.

A must do experience in Goa
A crazy town exploration with Pankaj. Many times we visit places but don't understand it's culture and history. So travelling has managed to integrate fun learning and experience based tourism in the most delightful way. We say old Houses, Mansions, architectural elements all from the eyes of the local. A must do thing when you are in South Goa.

A must of you are visiting Panjim
Royston Braganza was our tour guide. He was such a lovely soul and really knew about the history of the area. It was a small group and I met 2 other lovely ladies. We saw the local architure and had a detailed history of the area. We visited a local home filled with artefacts, which was a real treasure trove. We were taken for pastries and chai, and the whole experience was fabulous. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone visiting Panjim. Claire

Nice tour to see the beauty of Margao
On a very hot sunday afternoon I had the great pleasure to explore Margao with Mufeed as guide. On this tour I was the only guest, but my well-known guide was very motivated to answer all my questions. He offered me a lot of interesting informations about Goa and Margao and showed me a lot of details at the buildings we seen. Inbetween we had delious indian-portugies snacks and a refreshing drink. All in all, it was a good time and a nice tour to get deeper information about Margao. Thank you very much, Mufeed!

      Goa with Soul Travelling
I was one of the lucky few people who did two walks with Soul traveling in one day. Started with the heritage walk in Majorda and ended with secret food and Tavern trail, covering one trail each in North and South Goa. Soul travelling you indeed are doing a wonderful job of showing people the heritage and culture of Goa which indeed goes unnoticed. Both Pankaj and Vaastu are gems and did a wonderful job of taking us through the history and food of Goa. Looking forward to the next walk. Thankyou ❤️

      Margao cultural walk
The streets were pretty, we had mufeed as our tour guide and he was very passionate about the tour and gave us insights on the history of goa while walking through the streets. We took a lot of pictures and ended our tour with eating some local goan snacks at The Goan kitchen. ✨

Lovely, informative, enjoyable visit to Latin Quarters Goa.
On 18January 2024, my elderly aunt and I was accompanied by the soul traveler Ms Adolfina Thamm to the Latin Quarters Goa. We met at the Panaji Post Office where Ms Adolfina gave us interesting details and history and culture regarding our visit. Then she took us to the Latin Quarters showing us around. We had lovely fresh baked snacks and tea on the way. We wrote pastcard back home (which however, never reached back home😁). We visited a house in the LQ and got a glimpse of typical LQ family life. Ms Adolfina took photos for us. We had a great time. My aunt loved the walk in the LQ.

      Excellent walk!
It was an excellent walk and well done by Mufeed. We enjoyed our selves very much and will recommend it to others. The little snippets were interesting. The town itself is quaint and full of history. Additionally, the snack break was tasty and gave time to chat and exchange thoughts with the others.

Visited the Island of Chorao on the 25th April and we were led by the very warm and lovely host Pratik. We departed from the Ribandar ferry to head towards the island at 7 AM and headed first to the temple of Lord Krishna and were given a brief insight into the importance of this island in the relationship of Lord Krishna and his biolgical mother Devki. We then headed towards the Dr Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary for a boat ride through the mangroves and spotted several local and migratory birds and even managed to spot two crocodiles! Our next stop was at a local yoga training center for a lovely and hearty meal for breakfast which was situated at a hilltop and the view from the center was absolutely breathtaking! The next stop on the tour was at the St Bartholomew's Church which was built in the 15th century and its importance in regards to the Portuguese ruling of Goa. The last stop on our trip was at local Goan tavern hosted by a lovely lady for a very intimate tasting session of the famous Goan alcohol, Feni and Urrak. The entire tour from start to finish was absolutely brilliant and well planned out and wouldn’t have been possible without the expert guidance of the highly knowledgeable Pratik who made sure we were well looked after through out the tour! I would very highly recommend this tour, which is absolutely bang for the buck to anyone who is interested in getting a very raw and wonderful insight into the hidden gems of Goa!

Goa is beyond its beaches and cheap liquor and to experience it you must do this tour. After living almost three months here and getting saturated with the crowded beaches we were longing for off road exploration and something different when we can across this gem of an experience.
Believe me Goa itself is so pretty in monsoon that every road you take gives you spectacular views and humble happy people but the history of Goa is so blended and diverse you need ALOT of time to experience it. This tour is a small yet significant effort to show how less we know about it.

The whole experience from taking a ferry ride to an island to explore mangroves around spotting beautiful rare birds in a local boat was amazing. Our tour assistance was very well informed and made this experience super interactive. Also, we met amazing people on this tour completely different from us making it an interesting experience altogether.

We went forward with a spectacular breakfast and an even better view making you appreciate Goa's beauty a little more if that's even possible.

There's is a lot in these four hours we have learned and experienced that cannot be described in words. I'd recommend this tour to all who loves adventure and seek cultural knowledge about places that are stereotyped because of less exploration. We have experienced cultural tours like this in other parts of the world but I'm glad Soul trails are taking this initiative in India and I hope they grow changing the perspective of responsible and slow tourism in india.

Lots of luck to the team.

PS - if you ever come to Goa and taste feni sold commercially in green bottles, this will blow your mind as that is NOT feni. Try this tour for THAT.

    Morning well spent!

This has been the best trail I have had so far. The itinerary was not only well-planned but also well-executed.
The travel ambassadors Pratik Joshi and Bob Abreo were excellent at hosting us and were very attentive to our needs throughout the trip. The detailed information; weaved with their impeccable story-telling skills elevated the experience.

Kudos to the whole team of Soul Travelling for their innovative thinking and for translating it into memorable experiences.

I would recommend Soul Travelling trails to anyone who wishes to explore Goa beyond the conventional Guide book ways.

I am surely coming for more!

We booked this trip via our hotel, but also due to our hotel's tardiness we arrived 1.5 hours late to it. Still our tour guide Mr Karan Koonan accommodated us and took us through each item on the itinerary even after our severe lateness. Where other guides would have thrown up their hands and denied liability, he chose to bend over backwards for our sake even when he or his agency Soul Travelling was not at fault in the least. This is the kind of hospitality you can only receive from people and agencies that genuinely care about their customers.

Now of the tour, it was amazing. The island of Chorao has it all, a mangrove forest, a bird sanctuary (Salim Ali), farmland, hiking trails and even a town. It is huge and diverse and Soul Travelling has curated a thorough yet pleasant tour of this island. Nowhere did we feel rushed or unsatisfied, the pace was easy-going and Mr Koonan being the accommodating guy he is, conducted the tour at our preferred pace. In the meantime he regaled us with deeply researched facts about the area in a fun and engaging way. His way of telling stories of this magnificent place is so enthralling I felt like clapping every time he finished, as every good performance deserves.

My favourite parts of the tour were the boat ride through the mangroves, the hike through a cashew plantation, and the feni cocktail tasting we had at the end. Do not miss out on this gem of a place, it was one of the highlights of our stay in Goa.

My husband and I visited the island of Chorao trail, which was organised by Soul traveling. This was our third visit to Goa but our first experience of an island visit. We loved the experience!
The outing included a ferry ride from old Goa to the Chorao island, authentic Goan breakfast, temple visit, cashew plantation, seminary and church visit, a beautiful boat ride in the mangroves for bird watching, and finally authentic fenny tasting. The highlight of the trail was the bird watching where we were lucky enough to spot a crocodile resting amidst the mangroves as well. Our guide Binita (Bini) from soul traveling, ensured that the entire experience was smooth. The entire group was captivated by her storytelling on the historical background of each spot along the trail. At the end of the outing we got beautiful Goan postcards as souvenirs.
We had a wonderful time with the entire group on the hike. We would love to cover more of these activities on our next trip to Goa.

After taking a boat ride through the sparkling narrow mangrove creeks, an experience of a lifetime, it was a wonderful way to escape the monotony of everyday life and feel re-energized. Bird watching and an uncommon sighting of migratory bird in the sun was the icing on the cake. This has been the best trail I've been on so far. The itinerary planning and execution were both excellent.

The travel ambassadors Mr. Pratik Joshi was excellent at hosting: punctual, graciousness and willingness to share information about local cultures, food, wildlife experience and religions as we travelled. Touring the island with Mr Pratik makes you feel as if you live there. He showed us the natural beauty and rich history of this island with every ounce of enthusiasm possible. His fluent storytelling and in-depth knowledge of the history's origins enhanced the experience.

Kudos to the whole team of Soul Travelling for their innovative thinking and for translating it into memorable experiences. I would energetically recommend Soul Travelling trails to anyone who wishes to explore Goa beyond the conventional Guide book ways.

So Goa for most of us is beaches and booze....
But a land so beautiful and with a rich heritage has so much more to offer. We decided to explore the Goa beyond the beaches....
So we booked a "Chorao island tour" with the Soul traveling group in Goa.
Oh! What a morning it was.😀😀
God has truly blessed every corner of Goa and more blessed are the hearts of Goans !!
We met this amazing tour guide Pratik Joshi. An engineer by profession, a video editor by passion and a soul traveler at heart. With his warmth and tit bits of knowledge, he gave a whole new meaning to our morning that day. Shaurya and Shanaya will always remember him fondly as their Pratik Bhaiya.
He later shared that, the entire group of soul traveling has Goans who love their state and wish to present it proudly to the world. They have young engineers, chefs, designers who have come together out of pure passion for traveling and have formed this awesome tour group.
Feels so nice to interact with this younger generation who are not restless to migrate, have the courage to follow their hearts and live a life doing what they truly enjoy.
So we have actually done a lot of walking tours outside India and have loved them all.Take a bow "Soul traveling group" cause this tour was the best of them all. You have raised the bar. 👍👍

One of the most beautiful experiences ever! So much up and close with nature, the boat ride into the mangroves of Dr Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary is extremely tranquil and serene. Watching so many species of the birds and with the right information provided without even asking for it makes it super fun. Moving on, the visit to Devaki Krishna Temple , the Church and Chapel of St Jerome was filled with interesting folk tales, facts and history that I love. The best part of doing these trips with Soul Traveling is the warm hospitality, extensive knowledge and experience with which their team members conduct these tours. Despite the fact that our tour host Binita was just 3 months old in the system, her knowledge about the places was vast, extensive and accurate. Her warmth made us feel connected and each time when the tour ends, I feel I made a few more friends and connections. This is something I have experienced only with Soul Traveling. So if you want to explore offbeat Goa beyond beaches, bikinis and booze, experiences with Soul Traveling should top your list.
