    Great tour with Paul.
Paul did a great job of guiding us through the Historic Center of Quito. He has a strong accent, but I could understand his English. He was upbeat and appropriately funny. He seemed to know a lot of people as he walked through the town and was greeted warmly by people.

Perfect way to start learning about Quito
Whenever I travel, I find walking tours to be a great way to get a feel for a new city and learn some interesting facts about it. Our guide Myriam, from Free Walking Tours sponsored by Community Hostel, was a star! Her knowledge and enthusiasm were infectious-- she likes engaging tour participants by asking if they know something about whatever they're looking at, prompting curiosity. What I loved the most about this tour was that it wasn't simply a list of famous buildings and monuments. Myriam took us to some quirky spots that illustrated aspects of Quito's history and culture. For instance, in exploring the unusual floor of an old house, we discovered we were in the doorway of a brothel. That was followed by an equal opportunity stop at a still-active convent where nuns are never seen and observe a vow of silence. We visited curanderas selling medicinal herbs and spiritual cleansings in the market and tasted unusual (to us) tropical fruits from another vendor. The grand finale and chocolate- tasting at a fair trade chocolate shop was treat. This tour should be on the top of any first time visitor's to Quito's list!

Free Walking Tour-Great jump off point to explore Quito and beyond!
Carolina was excellent. Over the course of three hours we got to see all of the main attractions in Quito, try some native fruit, experience a chocolate tasting, and take in some incredible sights. We learned so much about the history and culture of Quito from Carolina and her stories. She was also an excellent resource for some of the other attractions we wanted to see outside the city as well. I would highly recommend this tour!

    Unique free walking tour
Miriam, our tour guide took us to unique and interesting places in Quito, told us a lot about traditions in Ecuador in general, history, architecture and we did some food tastings that delighted our mouths. One of a kind walking tour. Totally recommend it.

    Walking Tour with Diego
Diego was a great guide! His English was perfect, although he was totally willing to speak Spanish to help me practice and he was very easy to understand. I enjoyed the fruit tasting, the history, the canelazo, and the chocolate tasting on the tour. Diego also took some time after the tour to recommend some activities for the rest of my stay in Quito.

    Fantastic
I absolutely recommend it, you learn everything you need to know about Quito. Our guide Etiel had an incredible knowledge of the city and gave us interesting insights into Equadorian life. We were able to taste fruit at the market and explore many sights. The tour takes about 3 hours A tip is given at the end of the tour, which finances the organization, I just say bravo and thank you Etiel

    We would thoroughly recommend
Great free walking tour. The guide was friendly and very informative. As well as seeing the sights of the historic central area we learnt a lot about Ecuador and Quito. We also tasted the exotic local fruits and herbal drink as well as a chocolate tasting.

    Free walking tour fantastique
Very good free walking tour, lots of stories and helpful advise. Also sampling fresh fruit from the market, chocolate tasting, local drinks and more. The guide is excellent and super friendly. Great way to get a summary of the city for further exploration. There’s a lot to see. The hostel start point has a great roof top with views and coffee and breakfast before the tour starts. Excellent

Best walking tour we have ever done
Having done lots of walking tour across South America, Europe and Asia this one was definitely the best so far. Iván, our guide, was really engaging for three hours packed tour of Quito old town. Between tasting local alcohol, chocolate, traditional dance and some great views of the city we had so much fun. I would really recommend this tour and if your lucky enough to get Iván, your in for a treat!

Great introduction to Quito and Ecuadorian history, culture, and food - the tour of old town also helped us determine what to do for our time there.
