A full day of adventure awaits with this tour. We begin at the Dai Temple, to understand its importance, and the role it played throughout history for pilgrimages to Mount Tai. Overlooking the temple is Mount Tai, which is where we will spend the rest of tour. Our day tour includes bus and cable car to near the summit, where you will have 2 hours to explore.
To begin the day, our guide will greet you at your centrally located hotel to explain the day ahead at 09.30am. Please ensure you have adequate footwear and sun protection for the day and adequate water. A local lunch is included.
The Dai Temple is the traditional starting point for hikes to the summit of Mt Tai for visiting emperors and pilgrimages. Before we tackle Mount Tai, we will spend 1 hour exploring the inner workings of Dai Temple.
Built over 2000 years ago, the temple is part of a larger complex of Taoist temples, courtyards and monuments – home to the famed Zhengyang Gate and Yaocan Pavilion. Dotted around the temple complex are exquisite examples of statues and monuments dedicated to Taoist beliefs. The temple itself plays a significant role in the mystique of Mount Tai, has it hosted royal emperors before their holy trek to its summit.
The UNESCO protected Mount Taishan, is considered to be the most sacred of all mountains, and plays an important role in Chinese history and folklore.
For the last 3000 years, ruling emperors have all visited and climbed atop Mt Tai, to be blessed by the Gods – it has long been a place for pilgrimage and sacrifice. Furthermore writers, poets and artists have long visited to witness its beauty.
Confucius himself scaled the peak and was impressed, in which he remarked “The World is Small” from the peak, to give you an impression of the view.
Today it can be hiked via the 6660 steps – those who are successful in reaching the summit can expect to live to at least 100 years old!
To help your knees and health, our tour will include a short bus to Midway Point for the Cable car to Moon View Peak, offering break-taking views over the canyons and forests below. Allowing you to maximize your time on top of Mount Tai.
Once near the peak, you will have up to 2 hours to explore its Jade Emperor Peak summit, and visit the numerous temples and monuments. Your guide will explain the significance of Mount Tai and the numerous the temples and monuments you will see . They will also guide you to the best viewpoints and photographic opportunities. During this time, we will stop for a 45-minute lunch.

We will descent from the peak, until we reach the beginning of the trail where our driver will meet you to take you back to your hotel.
