Amazing tour of nothing remotely relatable to anything I’ve seen before
We had an amazing 1/2 day tour with Martin, a knowledgeable and well known guide in the area. We were never afraid, and had our 18 year old granddaughter with us. It’s quite a strenuous tour with lots of stairs up and down. If you have bad knees, better pass on this one.

    Excellent private tour
We booked the private tour and we highly recommend it. You can travel at your own pace and don't have to wait around for the group. Monica was an excellent guide and it was very easy to chat one-on-one with her. She made excellent coordination with the driver who was always at the designated meeting point and ready to take us to the next spot on the itinerary. We were able to select the specific combination of places to visit.

The guide (Lavinia) was amazing, she knew all ther is to know about futbol, stadiums, clubs, etc. really the highlight of my time in Rio. She was very thoughtful, and ass we had some time to spare, she took me to a beautiful view point so to better understand Rio’s history and reality. 100% recomended.

    Misleading
We were picked up in a battered car that had a broken chair back inside. Not a good start. We crammed into the car to go to the restaurant for dinner. After complaining about the broken seat, we were given a better car for the next leg of our tour. We booked a salsa dancing lesson - so expected to be escorted into in a room with a dance floor and an instructor to show us the ropes. What we actually got was standing in front of our chairs in the theatre and doing some moves, shown by a man on the stage. The show was overlong, very loud and the theatre very dingy. Disappointed.

Rio de city tour, Sugar loaf mountain, Christ the Redeemer and Celeron Steps, marakana stadium, sambradome and cathedral
Well priced tour. Excellent tour guide named Gustavo. Tour included all entry tickets, cable car and full delicious lunch.Christ the Redeemer is a must see to experience the religious beliefs of the statue. A bit overcrowded so it's best to go early. Sugar loaf mountain has spectacular sights of Rio ie. Copacabana beach ipanema etc.the Celeron steps are a must and the history of Mr Celeron is intriguing. Areas were fairly safe and lots of police presence. Americanos are supermarkets wher tbings are really reasonably priced. Overall good xperience

    Great day tour
I booked a day tour to see all the highlights of Rio in just one day. Pick up at the hotel, max 14 persons in mini van with airco. Even in fall is it 35 C degrees. Highlight were Christ Redentor, Sugar load mountain, São Bento cathedral, soccer Maracanã stadion, favela, mosaic stairs Escadaria Selarón. Our tour guide Kiko was really great and very helpful with making pictures. Roberto the driver turned out to be a great salsa dancer ;-). We had lunch at a typical Brazilian steakhouse in Ipanema Beach. On the other side On the other side of the street was a cute local market with nice products made by artists. I bought a lot of souvenirs here. In short, a perfect day with a drop off at my hotel. I would recommend it to everybody to see Rio this way.

    City tour by bus
This tour shows you the highlights of Rio de Janeiro. The tour leader and bus driver are really friendly and from my experience it is not easy to find a tour leader that really speaks and understands english and spanish in Rio. So this was a plus point for this tour leader. The sites we visited were also very well chosen and gives you the most important highlights of Rio for the fee of this tour. Scenic routes compliments your visit to Rio and photo oportunities are available most of the tour. I would sure recommend this city tour to all who wants to get to know Rio in a short visit.

    Get your Yellow Fever shot
No one told us we needed a yellow fever shot for this tour. We cancelled because it was too risky to go without the shot and we were highly advised by the concierge of our hotel and locals that we knew not to go. Still waiting for our refund from the Tour Company. I hope they do the right thing by refunding our money. If so, I will update this review so it’s not so unfavorable.

    We love RIO❤️!
We used Blumar Turismo through Trailfinders and our guide, Eugenio, was great! His English was excellent, he was knowledgable and has a great sense of humour-all of this made our trip so enjoyable and memorable. We did the trip up to Christ the Redeemer and the cable car to Sugar Loaf Mountain with lunch at a Degustare (typical Brazilian where various meats or fish are brought to you table) with a view of Sugar Loaf. When our helicopter flight was delayed Eugenio took us to places in the city which made us feel part of the Rio scene rather than tourists! He gave us good advice about what to do and where to go on our own- we went to the Fayre Hippie, a Sunday market in Ipanema which was great. The helicopter flight when we did it was amazing- definitely book the one which flies round Christ the Redeemer- fantastic! Eugenio even managed to negotiate an upgrade for us as we had booked a private 7 minute trip just for the two of us along the beaches but another couple wanted to do the 12 minute trip around the Redeemer so we agreed to share their flight for no extra cost! Superb! One of the most memorable moments of our lives! We met Philipe , Eugenio's son, who is also a Blumar Guide who was there for us and another great person to ensure you get the most out of your trip. Thank you, Eugenio, for making our time in Rio so special! Linda and Steve from England

    City Rio 1-day tour
We doubted at first to take the full day tour as I was still recovering from an ankle fracture and was walking with an elbow crutch. However, it was a very good decision anyway. Our tour guide Carla & driver Mauricio were excellent and very nice & gave all the necessary attention to make sure I would take elevators where these were available. We visited the Sugar Loaf mountain.. awesome experience & beautiful views. Then we went for the beaches Ipanema & Copacabana, visited a small souvenir shop and had a nice all-you-can-eat buffet-lunch. Subsequently, we went to visit the Carnaval Dome, Maracanã stadium and the old cathedral Lady of Mount Carmel with a different structure than you will see in other cathedrals. Very beautiful. After that we went for a short stop at one of the favelas to visit the Escadas of Selaron. Last but not the least we went for the Christ Redeemer ..so impressive and a full around view of the city of Rio de Janeiro. Our tour guide Carla was very good in explaining the history of the places we were visiting.

Viator full day complete tour of Rio - an excellent value for USD$125
We booked this tour online a month before leaving for Brazil. The cost was $125 per person. This price included pickup and drop off from our hotel (the Windsor Atlantica Hotel, which we highly recommend - it is right on Copacabana Beach), touring in an air-conditioned 12 passenger van, a multilingual guide who spoke excellent English, and tickets to go up to the Christ the Redeemer statue atop Corcovado Mountain. The price did not include our cable car ticket to go up Sugar Loaf mountain, nor did it include any meals or drinks. There were nine of us on the morning half of the tour that focused on the two must-do attractions of Rio - Christ the Redeemer and Sugar Loaf. The tour started at 7:30 am to beat the large crowds. That early start is a huge advantage and made our visits to those two sites so much more enjoyable by not having to wait in lines and being able to take photos at will. We had lunch in the Ipanema District at a small and very inexpensive (less than $8 for the two of us) ethnic Brazilian restaurant recommended by our guide, who also ate lunch there! We had "feijoada" which is the national food dish of Brazil. It is slow cooked black beans and pork, and we were told that it is available only on Fridays. Think of it as a Brazilian form of cassoulet. After lunch only three of us had booked the full day tour, so we had a lot of room on the van. The major afternoon activities included a photo stop at the world-famous Maracana soccer stadium, a visit to the truly spectacular Metropolitan Cathedral, a half hour stop (not enough time, in my opinion) at the Escaderia Selaron - a staircase that is an unbelievably interesting work of art, the very ornate chapel at the Sao Bento Monastery, and the unique Carnival samba parade "stadium". Numerous other sightseeing attractions including museums, monuments, churches and beaches were also pointed out by our guide, who did a great job and who fully deserved the nice gratuity we gave him.
