Nothing will be done if you’re not happy with the service
First I’ll start with the positive, the tour guide was prompt, friendly and the tour was thorough. However, I would have loved to say this tour was amazing but it was far from it. It was the most miserable day that I experienced on my trip to Rio. The day we went it raining the whole time and extremely foggy so ultimately you couldn’t see a thing of what you went on the tour to view. The tour guide mentioned at the start of the day that the tour may not go ahead, however they decided to go ahead anyway. It was raining all day long and left us completely miserable. I feel they should have made the call to rearrange the day, as I then had to pay additional money to go and view the things I wanted to see on a clearer day, I’d have happily have done that had I’d been given the choice to rearrange the day. Since this tour isn’t cheap, compared to if you go directly with a service in Rio, I believe they should have given the option to postpone the trip or offer a refund since they could in no way offer a quality service which would you expect paying that extra (you can get it at a fraction of the price in Rio). I had other friends that tried to go on this day directly and they wouldn’t even sell them a ticket! Everyone was just looking round at each other in confusion because you couldn’t see a thing, just fog fog and more fog. Then they would have you waiting around in the rain for ages, I assume they usually do this on the tour to encourage people to buy souvenirs etc but it felt drawn out when everyone was just standing around in the rain looking at nothing. I requested a refund, but it wasn’t accepted which is pretty disappointing. I’d advise just booking a trip directly with an operator in Rio. Since if you’re genuinely not happy with the tour, they’re not willing to do anything about it. It’s basically against your consumer rights and unfortunately I’ll never book a tour with trip advisor or viator again for this reason.

        As above
My trip with Cariocas was cancelled by them less than 24 hours before scheduled visit. They said next available date was in four days time. I requested to reschedule if possible. Less than 14 hours before visit still awaited response from Cariocas . When asked they were unable to advise about either the visit or repayment. It would appear that booking money is taken one, two or more weeks prior to tour but Cariocas do not buy any requisite tickets until a day before scheduled visit. No financial outlet by them , whilst money paid earns interest. When you ask about reimbursement the response - let me have your booking reference. At best this is utter incompetence, or worse a scam. Unreliable service.

Paqueta, the best island în the world
We recommend Paqueta Island if you are looking for an extraordinary experience. The island is unique, has many legends and is very quiet. Here you will see baobabs (one of the biggest trees, originally from Africa), various architectures, churches and many traditions. Also, there are no cars on the island, so you should have comfortable sneakers with you. Thank you Monica, for this great experience, the best guide in Brazil.

        Awful customer service!
Booked the Champions Parade at Rio Carnival with Viator - in Rio- small group tour. As a single woman alone I was concerned to be safe and be picked up and dropped off as stated in the terms. However it was very bad service : tour did not pick me up and had to go to a hotel . On the way back the tour guide Lydia was very unfriendly and refused to arrange for my drop off back to my hotel at 4am until (her much nicer and more helpful colleague Elio) convinced the driver to - since it was unsafe and my tour terms specifically provided for drop off . She did not say good bye or explain anything - she hurried us at the event and was impatient - and spoke no English . A very bad service from a company I’d not recommend again.

        Bad experience
We didn't have a tour but only the bus moving us there from point A to B, we stopped at Maracanà for literally 1 minute. Terrible tour, I should have Uber there by myself. Luiz was a good guy but maybe not on his best day. Food was good tho

Really great tour with a wonderful guide
This tour is best in dry and clear weather. The views at the Christ statue and sugar loaf are amazing. The sights were good and probably because of the bad weather on my tours, there was not much line to the things. Monica was a great guide. Sweet and patient and she did her best to make sure we got the best experience possible at the sights. She was making sure all followed around gave clear instructions. I recommend this tour which is also good to see different areas of Rio which might give inspiration to new sights.

        Amazing !
This trip was amazing! Monica has alot of knowledge on everything you will see! She is funny, made me feel safe and was super sweet. She speaks perfect english and Italian along with other languages. It rained on the day we went and they offered to give us our physical tickets to the mountain if we wished to return on a nicer day (at our own expense) I appreciated the offer. An amazing buffet is included. Not too cramped in the bus, enough time at all of the stops and educational. Highly recommend! And thank you Monica :D

Wonderful Venue .. poor tour guide
We were waiting for the guide for a long time. The place is nice with a lot of history and antiques, but the guide never showed us around nor did she teach us any samba moves.

Christ the Redeemer, Sugarloaf Mountain Tour
Excellent Tour, with the very capable and humorous Mar! Did what it said on the tin: Morro da Urca, Sugarloaf Mountain, Selaron Steps, Maracana Stadium entrance, Sambadrome Entrance, St. Sebastião Cathedral, Christ the Redeemer. We never had to wait long and Mar gave a knowledgable commentary throughout. Lunch was a buffet so all tastes catered for (only downside was soft drinks not included in price). Otherwise a great day. Thoroughly recommend.

        Not Worth The Long Trip
The trip from Rio de Janeiro to buzios is about 3 to 3 1/2 hours one way 6 to 7 hours round trip and we spent about 2 hours on the water. We where told that the excursion was going to involve 5 stops which it never happened after 3 stops they called it quits and went to have lunch and drove back to Rio de Janeiro. 6 to 7 hours of sitting on a bus for two hours in the water? NO THANK YOU. I would think twice before taking a tour like this again, there’s better things to do not to far away.

Wonderful Rio de Janeiro city tour and Corcovado Mountain
Wonderful tour and visiting the most important places in Rio. Our excellent tour guide Monika showed us the Christ the redeemer, stadium Maracana, Selarom steps, Sambadrom and many other locations. She had perfect knowledge of the history of Rio in general and the visited places in general. During the tour she was very informative and took great care for everyone in the group.

A must visit for nature and art lovers when in Rio.
We found this garden and presentation of Roberto Burle Marx fantastic and beyond our expectations. Even on a rainy day its was exquisite to walk the gardens and hear off his wife crammed with so much achievement. The guide we had Matthew was really knowledgeable and interesting.

        A special place on earth
If you love design or are looking a one of a kind Rio experience this is the tour for you! The house, studio and grounds were hands down spectacular- a highlight of our 11-day trip. Monica, our guide, couldn’t have been more gracious or knowledgeable. You could tell she loved this special place, and her enthusiasm was infectious and made for great story telling. We quickly became immersed in Burle Marx’s philosophy and grew to understand how his approach to landscape design was revolutionary. From what I see, not that many people book this tour and I can’t understand why. It’s just a short drive outside the city and the walk through the property is serene, stunning, and helps give context to the overall evolution of Rio as a city. Don’t hesitate to book with Monica today!

It was a full big bus of people not a a private tour. The guide did speak at length in Spanish (seriously for 20 minutes non stop at at time) and 2 sentences in English afterwords. The explanations and guidance were minimal in English. The beaches were not just overcrowded but people were almost on top of each other. Forget about swimming. The boat cannot dock at the beaches so it stays away from the shore and a small motorized boat takes you to the shore for 30 minutes after 3 hours of bus travel to two different beaches each time. By the time you disembark, find some place to stand in the water and come back to board the boat, you have realistically 15 minutes in the water which you do not enjoy. You stand in the water because it is just too many people. The time to enjoy pretty water and beach is minimal. But time to travel to the place depends on traffic (3-5 hours one way) and makes it almost not worth it at all given what is offered at Arraial. Also note that by the end of the tour when you are coming back to the dock to board the bus back, the waters get really rough. If you are only going there to see the nature and put a check mark on your list, do it. Otherwise, it is really not worth it the way it is organized at this time.
