Both Christ the Redeemer & Sugarloaf mountain are amazing, and a must see when your in Rio. For me this tour was disappointing, Unlike other tours we have done in South America, usually the tour guide helps to bring the tour to life with there enthusiasm and knowledge. For me this time this was not there. Most of the tour was spoken in Portuguese and I found it differcult to hear the guide in English particularly on the accent to Christ the Redeemer. I brought this to his attention for which he said he would repeat again on the decent, but did not?? We went on a Saturday morning which I would avoid if you take the tour due to the crowds. We were also asked to wait in the baking sun for a considerable time for a photograph that most people did not seem to want. Tips : Take plenty of water.

The description for this is very misleading. We have participated in food tours all over the globe (usually booked through Viator) and have immensely enjoyed. Calling this a “food tour” is WRONG! It was merely overcharging for a meal and sending a taxi to take us to a restaurant. We could have done this ourselves for less! A food tour implies that there will be a guide to explain origins, preparation, background information and possibly more than one location. There was no way to communicate with the proprietors since no English was spoken. I’m not sure this place was properly vetted because we were TOLD it was the best place for feijoada, yet the beef was very tough. How can that be? The Trip Advisor site compared this activity to other food tours that just wouldn’t work with our schedule. My advice is just don’t do this and remove as an offering. I reread the descriptions and my communications with the company and STILL feel misled! Very disappointing.

I had an amazing experience exploring the popular sights of Rio with knowledgeable details provided by our guide Monica Bertazzolo. She was well read and explained everything in Spanish and English for the clients. She was so patient as well as there was huge long queues at Christ the Redeemer and Sugarloaf. I learned so much about Rio and Brazil. Highly recommend!

The tour was excellent! Very well organized, prompt and a lot of fun. Our guide, Marlady, was incredible! We have never had such an enjoyable, knowledgeable and motivated guide. She was amazing!

Guide contacted us before pick up and collected on time at our hotel. Given ongoing commentary as we toured through the city towards Christ The Redeemer. Up the winding road to the top and a change over to the buses to the top. The views at the top are spectacular but even on a Monday, having been advised to avoid the weekend, the area around the statue was extremely busy (not helped by people lying on the ground to take the "perfect Insta picture"). The trip up Sugar Loaf Mountain in the cable cars was smooth and once again the views of Rio from the top were spectacular. Tour guide was very informative and engaging.

Tremendous fun! Go! I loved the vibe and the atmosphere... A local parting crowd for sure in the historic area that honors all things African. The caipirhina with all sorts of local fruit were fascinating...and strong. The music was like a jam session surrounded by a lively crowd. (Too crowded to dance.) We felt good that we were with a local looking after us.

Marlady, Our guide , was the best we have had in decades. She got us into the scenic viewpoints ahead of most because she knew what she was doing. A very nice tour made even better by Marlady, our guide.

The tour was well planned and organized. The guide, Monica was very knowledgeable, kind, and fun. For those who don’t have much time to look around Rio de Janeiro, I recommend this tour.
