He was honking at everyone including pedestrians and very impatient and constantly lane changing and swerving. Batu Caves was my favorite stop, although I would have preferred him going in with me. He did go into other stops with me which were great.Written 21 March 2025

First stopped at Pewter factory he was very knowledgeable, we learnt so much that we would not have known if we went on our own. Albinhar was so friendly and informative, we were so lucky to get him as a guide. The Batik and Pewter Tour were wonderful and possibly our favorite part of the tour. The artists at the Batik Tour were so talented, and our tour around the Pewter museum was so interesting. This trip has definitely made us want to come back and explore more of Kuala Lumpur.Written 6 March 2025
- NorthStar031479049150 contributionsGuide yourself, it’s easy. Avoid lazy guides.Do not use the guides. They are uninterested and do the bare minimum. Get a book and guide yourself, you can then utilise the off road trails, not the lazy tarmac, and bird until you are satisfied. Guides will leave you totally unfulfilled. The birding can be incredible if you max your time. The whole place has a colonial ghost town feel these days.Written 5 March 2025

Me and my family consisting of my spouse and daughter booked a Genting Highland Day trip with Skyway Cable Car ride, we had a great time, thanks to the punctuality and patience of our car driver Mr. Albinhar or Al as he wanted us to call him. He arrived as per schedule at 9.30 a.m. and he was courteous enough to text us 15 minutes before he came to the Hotel. Even though he politely told us that he is not a professional tour guide, he was kind enough to answer a few questions that we asked him.
Even though the Batu Caves was not included in the itinerary, he took us to the Batu Caves temple complex on our request and allowed us to have a comfortable period of time to visit the temple in a very relaxed manner.
As soon as we reached the starting point of the Genting Highland Cable Car, he made it a point, to accompany us till the reception area and texted our Cable Car ride tickets and informed us the place where he would pick us up, once we came down.
After a couple of hours trip up to the Genting Highland, we returned and Al was there to pick us up (as I had texted him, on the way down) and drove us down to our hotel.
As the Gondola Ride was not working, the travel agency refunded us the amount which was collected from us towards the Gondola Ride.
Overall, it was a great and pleasurable trip.

We enjoyed our visit to the Genting Highlands last month. About 1800 metres above sea level we took a cable car to the top which offered Panaromic views of the adjacent rainforest. Visibility was good with few clouds thereby giving us an opportunity to enjoy the scenery. We took the glass bottom cable which is a little more expensive but helps to beat the queue.
At the top there are many things to do including indoor and outdoor theme parks for all ages. We spent more time indoors which suited our two year old Gson. On the top there are many restaurants, shops and the adventurous can hike to explore the surrounding rainforest and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
Prior to visiting check the weather to ensure that you have nice weather there.
Any visit to Kuala Lumpur is incomplete without visiting this attraction.

I would have rated this higher but the trip was spoilt by our transport, which broke down on the way to the highlands and the replacement bus on the way back had brake issue (not what you want on a steep descent) which saw us wait on the side of a very busy road for them to cool down.
Our guide (sorry his name escapes me) was very knowledgeable about the history of Kuala Lumpur and he was very friendly and helpful all day long.
There are lots and lots and lots of shops at the top of the cable car but the outlets, which are cheaper, are at the bottom.
I would recommend this tour as I hope the issues we had with the transport were one-offs and we were just a bit unlucky.

Before I start my rant, i would like to say that the driver/ guide tried his utmost to stay calm. 2 young ladies joined the tour and immediately started asking the guide to change the tour to suit them, completely ignoring anybody else (me). He refused and advised them to book a private tour which would enable them to change the itinerary. At the Genting Highlands, they decided they were not done and kept us there for an extra one and a half hours. They were unpleasant, spoke almost at the top of their voices and played music on their phone speakers. They finally accused the driver of being "hyper" when he tried to talk to them. An extremely disagreeable tour.

Our family escapade to Genting Highlands from Kuala Lumpur was a whirlwind of joy and thrills! From the breezy drive up to the cool highlands to the jaw-dropping Skyway Cable Car Ride, every moment was a blast.
The highlight was zooming over the rainforest in the cable car, our kiddos went wild spotting waterfalls and greenery below. It was a smooth and safe ride that etched a big smile on our faces.
At the peak, Genting Highlands unfolded a treasure trove of family activities. The Skytropolis Indoor Theme Park stole our kids' hearts with its thrilling rides and colorful aura, keeping them giggling for hours.
A serene break at the Chin Swee Caves Temple provided a peaceful contrast to the lively park, offering a touch of culture for the little ones.
And can we talk about the food? Oh, the food! With a range of family-friendly eateries at First World Plaza, even the fussiest eaters found a treat to savor.
In a nutshell, our day at Genting Highlands was a rollercoaster of fun, blending scenic rides, exciting attractions, and kid-friendly facilities. Whether your crew craves adventure or prefers a chill vibe, this gem has it all!

We caught the 8.45am bus up from KL Sentral booking the return trip the day before. We arrived at Awana sky station and purchased a ticket each to go up in the cable car- no waiting lines. The cable car stops half way up where you can hop out and look at the Pagoda but we did not do this. We continued up to the top of the hill where there is an outdoor and indoor theme park, casino, shopping centre and plenty of restaurants and eateries. We spent 3 hours there. When we came back down we also spent time around the shops at Awana station. It was such nice cool weather and the views were very beautiful from the cable car. Well worth doing. We did notice when we came down to Awana station about 2pm there were at least 2 hundred people waiting to catch the cable cars up. My advice go earlier in the day.

Lots of great things to do. Spending a couple of day and you still could not see or do everything. Indoor Park rides start at 2PM. Outdoor Park has one entry fee all rides are free. Chinese Temple could spend a half to full day to see everything.

I would say it was a memorable and beautiful experience on 26th April when we visited Genting Highland.
To begin with Mr Mohd Fauzi was a perfect tour guide with Excellent Knowledge and Information on the Genting Attraction, Tourism, Demographics, History and Economy of Malaysia and with great sense of humour and patience he answered all our areas of Interest questions and Guided us perfectly from Pick Up to Drop.
The Genting Island is a must Visit destination and with Light Drizzle and Clouds Resting on the Mountains gave us great Views of the Location.
The Sky Cable ride both ways with the Chinese Monastery And Temple Visit in Between was a Memorable and Beautiful Experience.
The outside theme parks were very Organized, full of Thrilling Experiences and were Beautiful with Mesmerising themes. We could not explore much of Indoor due to lack of time.
I would say - A Beautiful Day at Genting

The trip hosted by Lawrence (driver) was great! I was able to fit in two extra sight-see's into my day which was a great surprise and much appreciated. There was a malfunction/miscommunication with the ticket I needed for the cable car up to Genting Highlands, which took time out of my day to troubleshoot and fix but got there in the end. The driver was very prompt and I felt safe throughout the whole experience. Highly recommend the Genting Highlands day excursion / one for my travel books, for sure.

Great experience with family for the first time to genting highland. Booking from online apps is just one click. One day before the trip, operator will inform you the guide driver and car number who will pick us up at the hotel, and send us the return e-ticket for cable car. Mr.Rajan drives and guides us very well, he gives some information during trips. Before going to genting, we stop by at batu cave and batik shop. We are drop off at awana station and continue the top by cable car. 3 hours exploring then we are picked up again at the same point we are dop off, then back to our hotel at KL. Thanks for the smooth and enjoyable trip

Does the sharing tour allow you to stop and explore at Batu Caves?
Written 17 December 2019
I reached Batu caves on my own by taxi, spent some time there, then took another taxi to reach Genting Highlands. Both are in the same direction away from KL and it is advisable to visit both places in the same trip. If you hiring a sharing tour to Genting Highlands, thenthey may stop to Batu Caves for some time - Need to check with your tour organiser. I did not use any tour organiser. Went on my own by Taxi on the same day. Hope this is helpful.

You can spend enough time there, no restrictions, but it is always advisable to come back before the sunset. Reaching there early hours is a nice experience.
