About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Companion1661800 contributionsGood ride on the boat but unhappy with how wildlife attractefThe boat trip was great but didn’t like the look of the fish farm with the captive Ray in one small area being man handled by all and sundry. It would have been good to have seen the eagles and kites without them being fed so frequently from the boats. Lunch was ok.Written 15 January 2025
- overintwo0 contributionsGreat tour!We had a great tour with Geson. He was very informative and we got to drive to the top of Kek Loc Si! Unfortunately we didn’t get to do the Penang Hill because it was closed.Written 11 January 2025
- FabianA14060 contributionsAmazing Nature, closeup eagles, great guide, fun captain. We recently joined this mangrove tour in Langkawi and had a fantastic experience overall. The guide was knowledgeable, engaging, and made the entire journey both informative and enjoyable. Watching the eagles soar and dive up close was absolutely breathtaking — a true highlight of the trip. The captain clearly enjoyed navigating the boat, making the ride even more fun with his skillful and enthusiastic driving. The included meal was simple but good. However, we had some issues with the transportation service. We had to wait about an hour for pick-up at the start of the tour, and the return trip was delayed by an additional 20 minutes. This was a bit inconvenient and is the reason we are giving 4 out of 5 stars instead of a perfect score. Despite the minor transport hiccups, we would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Langkawi!Written 11 January 2025
- GIDraco0 contributionsSpot OnWas very lucky to have this guided tour on my own. My guide, Raj, was just perfect. Honest, polite, chatty, attentive and a good sense of humour. The waterfalls and springs were lovely to see. If I was in more of an "immersive" mood, I would've dipped in but the weather was poor. The caves were an incredible spectacle to see, well worth the journey. A few hidden surprises of the fabric shop and metallic factory were a great addition to the tour, also. Lunch was very tasty, always good to try new food in new ways. Dropped off with no hassle, even when the traffic started to get busy. Highly recommend!Written 10 January 2025
- Curious3207740 contributionsNot worth the long drive !!!!Dreadful driving throughout the trip. Tailgating at 140 kph is absurd and dangerous Still doing that speed in pouring rain must rate as suicidal Felt rushed throughout and I would question if the journey is worth the visit to the sanctuary. The knowledgeable ranger promised on the island hardly spoke at all and had to be asked questions before giving dubious answers. His overall knowledge seemed poor The trip to the cave gave insufficient time to really explore the whole temple having been told we must return in an hour but being urged to return quicker. We took our time and returned after an hour where upon the driver disappeared and left us hanging around for a further 30 minutes Think carefully before booking this trip it is not worth the money and if they all drive like our guide then someone will end up deadWritten 7 January 2025
- Dream351486900300 contributionsTerrible experience and tour-guide.A tourist-trap. Tour is not well planned. No proper explanation of sites was given. The guide was biased to a few vendor shops that she wanted us to visit (for obvious reasons). The visits were rushed and mal-coordinated. She kept insisting on getting tips several times. She was also biased against Muslims and Muslim culture (she didn't know that we were Muslims ourselves). A terrible experience in my humble view. Find another company.Written 3 January 2025

- Melissa S0 contributionsSkip this sad place. The saddest place ever. The elephants are obviously under stress as they rhythmically bob and weave, they have nowhere to go dispite advertising 280 acres and everything is just in a small cage. The tiger looks like it’s bored to death and lives in a 40x30’ pen. This is awful. What zoos looked like in the US 30 years ago. Skip it.Written 30 December 2024
- SAMANTHATAFFURELLI0 contributionsWorst tour everThis was the worst tour I have ever done. There was 3 adults squashed into a small budget old car and another 1 adult in the back for the whole day. It was very uncomfortable. Very inadequate. The hot springs were just in the middle of town and small not what I was expecting It cost 4 MR to get in for the car. We went to the waterfalls only cost to get in was parking. No cost to get into the Caves. The pewter tour lady spoke so fast you couldn't understand anything she said. No lunch provided but given 50MR to get lunch for 2 which didn't cover it at 4pm which was too late No water provided. No schedule. Not professional at all and we have been on many tours. This was not worth the money at all but I'm sure you made plenty. Won't be using you again.Written 29 December 2024

If you really want to visit the tower go to internet buy a ticket and go with taxi. It’s more convenient. They pick up you from hotel and give 2h to visit. You will stay minimum 30minutes to wait inlet. Not give cut line ticketWritten 24 December 2024

The tour is much more than the fireflies! Rajah our guide pick us up on time, he truly made the difference: he brings such positive energy that made us feel comfortable since the start and made us laugh, while he was sharing interesting facts about life in Malesia and KL The tour included the visit of a Hindu temple. To pay apart there’s also the opportunity to see the sea eagles and the luminescent plancton - which make sense to do… also watch the birds at the sunset (close to the restaurant) - really beautiful to watch them while they gather for the night on trees .
Finally, 10 days later we bumped into Rajah in Chinatown KL and again he spread joy, advices and positiveness! 🔝

We went to see the Firefly colony in Selangor with Aani Tour. The guide, Fauzi, was very polite and answered all the questions we had. We were a small group - just 4 people in total.
We got to see a Hindu temple, feed and interact with silver-tail monkeys at Koti Melawati and then had a nice dinner at seafood restaurant next to the boat pier.
The boat ride to see the fireflies is nice. The fireflies themselves are mostly hidden in the bushes along the shore, so don't expect something grand and majestic - but it's an interesting lights show.
For an additional RM 50 we upgraded our tour to see the Blue Tears plankton as well, fluorescent blue in the river.
All in all, it's a nice, calm trip. There aren't any huge highlights or crazy views, but the sum of it all was a very positive experience.

The trip to the temple and the monkeys was good. Feeding them was fun. Our driver looked after us well and drove safely and was on time. The food in the restaurant was good although not a seafood buffet as described.
However, the Boat trip to see the fireflies was ruined by the boat being overloaded with tourists who would not turn the lights off on their phones and impaired the vision of the fireflies. This did have an impact on our enjoyment of the trip. The captain did ask for the phone lights and flashes to be turned off but it was ignored. Also the captain spoke in Chinese, and we didn’t understand the commentary. Would otherwise have been a nice trip.

We had a wonderful time on the private tour with Aris. Aris was very friendly and knowledgeable and made our tour feel relaxed and enjoyable. He was accomodating to our needs (such as toilet stops and purchasing mosquito repellent). The monkey centre was great fun, dinner was nice and made good adjustments for myself who is allergic to shellfish. We paid extra to do both the firefly and blue tears tour which was well worth the money. Would highly recommend this relaxed tour for anyone looking to get out of the city and see what Kuala Selangor has to offer. Tour was seamless start to finish, ask for Aris!

Our driver guide Rajan was excellent, informative and friendly, excellent vehicle, safe and comfortable.
Fair value for tour. Option to do eagle feeding out in the boat, 50RP, before the firefly trip, and blue plankton on the sand trip, after the fire flies, where the ocean meets the river, also 50RP. All 4 on our tour declined, I guess that you would have to wait if some went, if you choose the share option in the first place, but there is a restaurant where u can wait.
The boat is basic, one engine, fits about 30 people, so others join you for this part of the tour. I loved the fireflies and was very happy, but others in my group were disappointed, I guess it depends upon what u expect! I saw the odd one, then groups of five, then a few groups of about twenty or more, all flashing very bright. Great what a little bug can do!
Meal was fine, nothing to sing home about, but good and plenty.
Monkeys were georgous, seemed gentle and not scarey, but beware of feeding them if u dont want to be jumped on!

This was the worst experience I had ever been in. First the bus was full of roaches and upon telling the driver he did nothing and shrugged it off. Then we went to a Hindu temple I think, and in the rain had to remove our socks and shoes and walk thru the rocks. Then we went to the firefly’s and it was aweful. The plankton blue thing was cool but so not worth the money. Don’t be expecting dinner because even though it said it in the ad it was not included neither was the blue plankton thing had to pay extra. All in all not worth it to me. Just make sure you buy the right trip and read what included first. TWICE!!!

Mr. Rajan not only acted as a driver, indeed a friendly guide. He told us the history and culture of Malaysia during the drive. We love durian, he found and stopped the car near a road side durian shop for us to taste it. He didn’t mind waiting, but cared about how much we enjoy it.
When we arrived at our first destination, monkey feeding, he told us not to be scared when a black monkey climbs on your shoulder, because they are very friendly, etc etc. Then we went for the eagle feeding. Tens of eagles caught fishes close the boat. Then Rajan introduced a nearby restaurant to us for dinner at a reasonable price, the food is good! Finally we've the boat trip to firefly seeing. It was amazing, although a little bit short.
Overall the trip is great, and Mr. Rajan is great, thanks.

We did the private tour for the firefly boat and dinner and had the best time. On the way to Kuala Selangor we stopped at Istana Negara for photos and were just in awe of the palace. We also stopped at a temple along the way which has intricate carvings and was another great photo spot. Our guide, Aris, was knowledgeable and a lot of fun to talk with. We also made a stop to see the lighthouse and the monkeys and that was the highlight of the trip for us. He stopped for us to get mosquito repellent as well since we didn’t have any. The dinner was delicious and Aris ordered for us (we aren’t picky eaters) and we had seafood fried rice, vegetables, prawns (our favorite thing), fish and an omelette. We also purchased the blue tears tickets while we were there. The boat took us first to the fireflies and then to blue tears. We had light rain jackets which were nice for the boat ride. It was a lot of fun in a pretty fast boat in the dark. The blue tears weren’t very bright this night but we still did see a bit. Afterwards Aris took us back to our hotel. Overall this was an amazing day and we have zero complaints.

It was great to book with private tour as we can spend more time at each tourist spots and no need to rush. Also driver explained many things about Malaysian culture. Tour included going to some places such as Muslim palace and Hindu temple.
Probably because of the weather we couldn't see that much fireflies, but bioluminescence water was incredibly beautiful. (Too dark to take picture, enjoy with your eyes!) All the procedure from booking to coming back to hotel were all very smooth. Something good to try when you are in KL!
