- lilgoldie0 contributionsPrivate Tour With Tack!Tack was an excellent tour guide. He helped us navigate our 2nd day in Tokyo, complete with our first journey on the subway. We got to pick the places we wanted to see including the fish market, the Imperial Palace, and Asakusa/Senso-ji Shrine. Tack was very patient with us while we ate and shopped our way around town.Written 9 October 2024

Our tour guide Yuri was wonderful, she pointed out may interesting points about not only the main sites on our tour but all along the way. We learned a great deal about the culture and felt really good about venturing out on our own for the rest of the week. Thank you for such a great introduction to Kyoto and a wonderful day! - nswburgess0 contributionsAbsolutely fabulous 4 hour tour of KanazawaWhat an amazing tour. 10/10 from us. Toshiko (Jasmine) was our fabulous guide. She created a perfectly timed itinerary fulfilling all our requirements and the pace was perfect. Toshiko had so much knowledge on the places we visited. She provided printed timelines to more easily explain the Edo period and other printouts to explain visually the historical hierarchy. She chatted to us throughout about life today in Japan, and answered all our draft questions. Absolutely worth every $. I wish we could take her to Kyoto on our next city adventure. We probably would have been so lost on our own but she made it a really great day out that even the rain couldn’t dampen. You can choose particular sights of the city that you would like to see, there’s just so much to fit in. Would definitely recommend. Arigatou Takako!Written 8 October 2024

- photchan0 contributionsSmooth and easy easy trip to HiroshimaWe did a day trip to Hiroshima and the surrounding area with our guide Kay. A couple of weeks prior to the tour we were in touch with, and she wanted to understand our preferences to craft an ideal itinerary. I can say that on the day, it was very smooth and provided us with insights when needed but also knew when to give us our space such as at the peace museum when we wanted to just read about peoples stories. Overall, it was a great tour.Written 8 October 2024
- Discover470761770260 contributionsBest Decision of Our Trip!Booking this tour was one of the best decisions of our trip! Our wonderful guide Naoko was very accommodating and was a great assistance in planning the best use of our time. Thanks to her we were able to see and experience so many great things and everywhere we went was able to share information and history about the sites we visited. It was great having an asset like her to ask one-on-one questions and discuss the history, culture (and pop-culture) this beautiful country has to offer. 10/10 would recommend to anyone who wants to make the best use of fun filled afternoon in the city.Written 8 October 2024
- jodieannm7530 contributionsCultural experience: Shinto & Buddhism in Japan explainedOur tour guide, Sammy, was great! He was very proactive and helped us to decide the places that we would see on our tour based on our interests. His information handouts and shared personal knowledge made for a very informative tour. He was also very considerate towards the members of our group who required a bit more assistance. He also took a ton of pictures of our group and sent them to us along with a photo video compilation. That was wonderful because we could listen & enjoy instead of fumbling around with our phones for the best shots! Thank you Sammy!Written 8 October 2024

Our guide Ichiro was excellent! We booked this tour during our honeymoon and would highly recommend.
We decided to book a private car for the day which we would 100% recommend if you want to visit places that a bit off the beaten track and makes an 8hr day more relaxing!
Ichiro was very knowledgeable, professional, great company and sense of humour and created a very thoughtful itinerary for us so we missed the crazy tourists peak times. You can tell he is also passionate about Japan’s history! His English was very good and we would highly recommend Ichiro!

Tomoe our guide was excellent in showing us Nara. We had so much fun for a family with a 9 year old. Nara Park was a super attraction for young and old. Breathtaking Todaiji Temple houses the largest bronze Buddha (Vairocana) in the world. Medicine Master Buddha in Eastern Golden Hall of Kohfukuji Temple was equally breathtaking. Also the five storied pagoda of Kohfukuji Temple in Nara, a famous icon of the place. Kasuga-Taisha Shrine was another famous landmark in Nara, that the deer are messengers to. Tomoe was an excellent guide, careful with every details, speaking to the locals on our behalf and made us appreciate all things every step of the way, showing us to local delicacies, sharing great insights into the ancient history and even brought us to a toy museum filled with ingenious handmade toys.

Thank you very much for a really warmhearted review!I’m sorry that it was a rainy day, however, we enjoyed Nara with few people, didn’t we? I was impressed to see how deeply religious you were. I hope that I can see you and your family again. Thank you for booking the tour.

Haru Yamaguchi gave us a fantastic private tour of Nara! He communicated with us immediately and created an exceptional itinerary for us. He even provided a beautiful flow chart with pictures and options. Even before the tour we felt like we were in good hands. On the day of the tour, he met us at Kyoto Station and guided us through the process of buying tickets, changing trains, and leading us through the beautiful sites of Nara. He explained the sites, gave us the history, gave us tips, and had a beautiful binder full of pictures and timelines and maps that made everything clear. He was funny and kind as well. He also helped us take wonderful photos that showcased the sites and us as well. Since we do not speak Japanese and we had never been to Japan, we were very reliant on him and he did brilliantly. We highly recommend him.

Thank you very much for positive review of the tour. I greatly enjoyed the guide.
What I feel a little bit regrettable is that it rained in the afternoon and the roads were muddy.
But this rain made the moss look more beautiful.
I am really glad, if you enjoyed Nara and being with me. Thank you.

We arrived in Kyoto and were so excited to see Nara. Junichi picked us up from our hotel, having woken up way earlier to travel over an hour to Kyoto from Nara just to turn around and take us back : ) He was awesome, knowledgable, and kind. Junichi was the best guide we had on our trip. He grew up in Nara and so he had so much to say and teach us about his hometown and we learned history and the whys and wheres of each point in Nara. I would recommend him to everyone - actually recommended him to a couple we met in Takayama a few days later and Junichi was already booked. He is a popular guy and if you are lucky enough to get this fine gentleman, then I'd jump on the opportunity to learn from him.

I feel very sorry for the guests because all the restaurants in the Nara Park area were so packed that they could not have proper lunch. I feel very thankful for the guests because they were very interested in what I talked about the history and religions in Nara as the oldest capital of Japan. I wish I could have had another day with them so that I would be able to tell them much more colorful history of Nara and Japan.

Mr Junichi is an awesome tour guide. My wife and I had a great time in Nara. We will recommend him to our family and friends any day. Since I booked it, he has been very prompt and reached out to me by email, asking my preferences and what I would like to do in Nara. He made sure the itinerary was customized to meet my requirements. He is very thorough and detail-oriented. He explained to us the history/culture of the temples we visited in Nara very well. He is a very friendly and cheerful guide. He was born and raised in Nara. So, he had a lot of inside stories to share, which was really lovely to hear. If someone likes Tofu, he knows the perfect place for you to have your lunch. Absolutely unforgettable. Depending on what you like, he can change the itinerary to fit your needs. He is very adjusting and considerate of your choices even during the trip.

I was a very lucky guide because the guests gave me beforehand a lot of information about what they liked to do in Nara. While visiting places and enjoying communicating with deer, we talked hugely about religions and history in Nara and in Japan from the ancient times to now, which made the tour all the more interesting for me as well as the guests. Tours are the best when they are the collaboration by the guests and the guide. I am very thankful to the guests for giving me this wonderful experience in guiding.

We are a family with a 16 month old baby and we decided to explore Japan. In the Kansai region we stayed in Osaka, then visited Nara and Kobe.
Momo, our guide for Nara, very kind and knowledgeable, accompanied us to discover a beautiful, yet incomparable, Nara.
Always attentive and thoughtful about every detail, as well as very attentive to our little girl.
I highly recommend visiting Nara but above all letting Momo guide you along unexplored paths!
We are waiting for you in Italy, Momo!

We saw incredible temples, fed wild deer, and learned so much from our wonderful guide, Junichi! He was born and raised in Nara, and knew so many interesting facts and stories about the city’s history. He even treated us to his favorite mochi! We truly could not have asked for more, and were so lucky to explore this fascinating city with such a lovely human.

The guests and I spent a day in Nara playing and feeding deer, and of course visiting UNESCO World Heritage Temples and Shrines. While walking through the Deer Park, I told stories about what Shintoism and Buddhism are, and their histories in Nara and in Japan from the ancient times to now. The guests were great listeners and gave me awesome questions that made my narrative easier for me and more enjoyable for the guests. After the tour, we ended up enjoying talking till 20:00 exchanging our views of the world and its politics. I heartily thank the guests for giving me such a wonderful day and inviting me to NY!

This tour was an exemplary experience in an exemplary place. Our guide, Momoyo-san was an extremely knowledgeable and well-spoken teacher who clearly knew all the ins, not to mention, the outs, of this painstakingly beautiful city. Through her knowledge of the largest temples to the smallest one chambers, we were painted a vivid picture of the historic capital of Japan. I would highly recommend this tour to all who are interested.

We had a great time visiting the golden temple, the silver temple and Gion district with Kaeko. Very knowledgeable and incredibly kind, she enjoyed so much telling stories and myths of the different places to us. Her enthusiasm is contagious and makes you want to keep going. Thank you Kaeko!

Thank you for your kind remarks.
Even though we had a heavy rain at Kinkakuji Temple, your family enjoyed going around there due to fewer people there!
I’m glad to hear that you enjoyed our tour. I’m also surprised that you had researched a lot about Kyoto.
I hope you’ll visit Japan again someday.
Thank you very much.

We had Toshi as our guide for Nara and he was wonderful.
In the lead up to the tour, we made contact via email and planned our itinerary.
Toshi collected us from our hotel and we hot footed it to Nara on the train.
The pace was steady and we saw everything on our itinerary and more.
Toshi's English is very good and he has a great knowledge of Nara.
Could we have done Nara on our own? Yes, but we wouldn't have had the insight into Nara which made the day.
