      First time in Tokyo 10/10
Our Tokyo guide Yoshii was absolutely spectacular. He immediately made us feel comfortable and relaxed during our tour of the city. This being our first time in a new city with two children ages 6 and 10. He began with a very informative history of Japan and answered all of our silly questions. His knowledge of the city was impeccable. Navigating the city with him was a pleasure. Highly recommend, the entire day felt like traveling with a family member. We will always be grateful for the time we spent with him and enjoyed every moment.

      Yuko:a highly extrovert Japanese guide
We had a walking tour in Hiroshima guided by Yuko. She is a very charming person, with profesional skils and human tuch. A swift guide able to connect with you in few minutes. Is the kind of guide that you consider -after a while-that you know eachother. She communicated im perfect English, with all of us (4) adults and seniors Thank you Yuko :=))

      Hiroshima museum , point Zero
Yuki was Excellent and very patient as our immigration for disembarking was 2 hours after our meeting point. Still we saw the Museum and pat plus a shop I asked for and then she took us back to our boat. Would recommend her again.

      Really great!
Had an awesome time exploring Tokyo. My guide Hiro was very friendly and informative. He took me to Senso-Ji and Meiji Jingu Shrine, and we had lunch at a local sushi spot near Tsukiji Market that was so delicious. He also gave me some very helpful info on how to navigate the train system in Tokyo. Overall an excellent experience and a great way to start my vacation in Tokyo.

An Engaging and Extensive Tour of Hiroshima and Miyajima
We very much enjoyed our experience on this tour with our guide, Miyu. The first half of the tour (or maybe a little more) was exploring the island Miyajima, followed by coffee and lunch breaks, and ending in Hiroshima, visiting the Peace Memorial museum and some notable places around the area (Bomb Dome, various memorials, and more). We started at 10:30am and finished between 6 and 7pm, so it was basically an entire day. This all said, Miyu is open to crafting the tour however you’d like. Miyu was very friendly and knowledgeable. Being from Hiroshima originally, she knows a lot about the history of the city and what it has to offer in terms of food and culture in addition to her extensive knowledge of WWII and what Hiroshima went through during that time. She was very open to answering questions and engaging in conversation. Given it’s a private tour, there’s lots of room to chat with her, which may be different from a group tour which is often much more listening rather than conversing. We would definitely recommend you use her for this tour or others!

      Great Accessible tour!
Lily was an amazing guide, with excellent English to make up for our extremely limited Japanese. Lily planned out an accessible tour for us. We started out by picking up a wheelchair at the Kyobashi station and then using taxi’s and train stations (with elevators and ramps pre-planned out by Lily). We visited Ueno Gardena for the Cherry Blossoms, Hanaka Ginza, and Shibuya. Thank you so much Lily!

      Fantastic tour
Takako was a fantastic guide! She took us to several wonderful places based on our preferences but also suggested a few things she thought we would enjoy and she was right. She showed us how to get around on the subway and took us to a little gem for lunch for shabu shabu. She is very knowledgeable about the history and culture of Japan and we were so thrilled to learn from her

Great day exploring Tokyo with Kei. He was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. We hit all the sights that I wanted to see as Kei was super accommodating to my desires. I felt like I was traveling with a friend because Kei was so fun and friendly. I would highly recommend this tour.

      Great tour!
Loved this tour. Our guide Izumi was great! Knowledgeable, polite, and contacted me well in advance to coordinate and select locations to visit during our tour. We got great pictures and learn a lot about the history of the areas we visited.

Authentic Cultural & Historical Experience with Fun.
We had an amazing historical tour with our guide, Lily. She tailored the itinerary perfectly to our interests and even suggested a wonderful hidden gem—an authentic area filled with traditional shops and restaurants. It was a fantastic experience, as it wasn’t crowded with tourists, allowing us to truly immerse ourselves in the local culture. Lily is not only professional and knowledgeable but also fun and kind, making the tour both engaging and enjoyable. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for a unique and personalized experience!

Best tour ever! Andy picked us up from our hotel and took us back to our hotel. We are both active 80 years young.
Andy picked us up from the hotel and took us on a private tour at the best price ever. We are both 80 years active. He talked us through tour options and we came up with our plan. Andy picked us up at our hotel and delivered us back. He filled us in with Japanese culture, historic information, and food (lunch was delicious and we invited him to join us). We took the trains and buses, mixed with the locals (much better than a car tour). We now have a new friend in Andy.

Our tour guide was Kazo and he was very knowledgeable about the gion area. He came prepared and had pictures to show us of the geiko and maiko in case we didn't see any (but lucky we did see one!). You get to see lots for only an hour including Yasaka shrine, gion entire area, gion corner, Yasaka temple etc. Highly recommend.

When you have a great (English speaking) guide such as Suga Kyozo the time just flies. He was full of interesting and fun stories of the Kyoto area (Geisha area, temples etc) and detail on its history. Throughly recommend.

To the customers I guided in Gion, I'm very happy to hear that you enjoyed the Gion Walk Tour with me. Your compliments are an honor greater than I deserve. "Ochaya" where "geisha" entertain guests have the rule that they don't accept the first- time customers easily. They had been an unknown world to me, too, until my husband held a big international conference of medicine in Kyoto and asked "Ichiriki " Geisha House to send maiko and geisha to entertain our VIP guests. Since that time, we are not the first-time customers any more. They welcome us whenever we go. This way I came to know the special world of Gion. What I told the customers of my Gion Tour was all what got in geisha houses and from talks with maiko and geisha. I`m very pleased if the Gion Tour long remains in your memory of Kyoto. Thank you very much to you all !! Guide Etsuko Hirasawa

I was inspired by the earlier reviews to take up this tour. We were a group of 2 families with Koji san.

Koji san was kind enough to respond on emails about locations ,etc. He is a retired history teacher and also gave us a good insight into Japanese history.

Nothing great in the tour that one can right about, I feel he could make the trip more interesting with insights and stories as has been expressed by others in their review with different guides.

Kaeko gave us an excellent tour through the Gion neighborhood. We got so much more out of the experience and learned many things we would not have on our own. Kaeko was accommodating and knowledgeable. She even ended adjusted the tour so we would finish at the doorstep of the restaurant where we had dinner reservations. Special bonus we were lucky enough to see Maiko and Geiko on the tour.

Very personal insight into life in Gion and Japanese culture.

From the Giesha and the temples you see both side of the tracks.

    Suga is a great conversationalist.

Arrived early in the rain, didn’t wait long and our guide arrived “Yasuko”. A wealth of knowledge about the area, the history, knew all the back lanes, explained all the markers over the doors, the differences between the tea house, the boarding house the school and the theatre.
During the tour we saw about ten Miako and a couple of Giako as we weaved our way around the narrow streets and temples.

An absolutely brilliant way to end out time in Japan, thank you Yasuko for a great time.

We were fortunate to have Kaeko-san as our guide. Apart from being knowledgeable, she was extremely patient and attentive to our needs. As we had a young child and a pram with us, Kaeko-san was always quick to ensure that our pram would be able to move along smoothly along the paths of Gion. An informative tour that was made even more enjoyable was the presence of a good guide who not only shared with us her knowledge but also ensured that we were well taken care of in the one hour tour.

When I booked the tour, i didn't know it was a personal tour just for our family of 3. That proved to be great value for money.
K Suga, our guide was waiting for us with my name board at the meeting point. His English was excellent and the fact that he was born and raised in Gion was great as he knew all about the the place and could answer all the questions that we had. The 1 hour tour was very informative about the history and the quirks of Gion and got good recommendations on the shops to buy the things we were looking for. There is a bit of walking involved, but nothing most people can't handle. We had our 6 year old daughter with us, she never once complained.
I highly recommend taking this tour before going out and exploring the place on your own armed with the knowledge of what you are seeking.
