      Fantastic day!
We had an amazing day making gyoza. Ryo was an excellent teacher and great at explaining in English. We were laughing throughout the lesson and then ate really tasty gyoza at the end, that we made! My parents had meat and we had the vegi option.

      Lovely 2.5hrs.
We had a lovely time learning how to make gyoza and also gaining some knowledge about Japanese/Kyoto culture. There was only 3 people in our group - our own family. So there was plenty of time to ask questions. That said, looking at the setup there class numbers would probably never be very big anyway.

Fun and delicious gyoza making experience
This was really fun! It's near the subway station and several other attractions, so it’s super convenient! I think it would be fun to visit Nijo Castle, then come get to make gyoza for dinner. The setting is in a historic Kyoto townhouse, which has been restored. On the first floor, you don’t need to take off your shoes. I have to make gyoza and add any seasonings I wanted, then cooked and ate them! They tasted delicious, and it was fun making them The instruction was in English, so it was easy to understand and ask questions.

      Great time learning something new✨
We had a great time with my friend making gyoza 🥟🙂 the technique was explained carefully, so in case I want to make them back at home, I could without problems! The instructor can speak English and even Spanish, which is a great bonus. Would recommend it to people who enjoy gathering with friends to drink beer haha gyoza is way better than any snack!

      Great cooking workshop in Kyoto!
Great culinary workshop in central Kyoto! We learned how to make gyoza from scratch from our knowledgeable and hospitable teacher Ryo. He is fluent in English and Spanish so no worries about a language barrier! The gyoza were so delicious and the process of making them was really enjoyable. With the recipe I think I could make them at home too. It's a great memory during a trip to Kyoto!

Fun activity to do in Kyoto
Enjoyable experience! She knows a lot about the history of Gyoza and Kyoto. It was interesting to make gyoza by myself. I didn’t know there’s Kyoto original gyoza! They gave us a cool scarf to put on our head for free, love it!

A must do if in Kyoto!
What a fantastic experience! Two hours of Gyoza making, cooking and eating with some incredibly friendly and knowledgeable staff. They took lots of photos for us and even allowed us to take some photos in their samurai gear for no extra cost. A must do if you are in Kyoto!

My brother and I went ramen making yesterday. Great fun and would highly recommend. We had Nori to guide us who was great and spoke perfect English after living in Brighton a few years ago. She was a fantastic guide in terms of giving instructions but also allowing us to do most of the prep ourselves and feel as though we were in control! The ramen ended up tasting delicious and we left with a certificate and Ramen Factory headscarf. Price inclusive of what you get to eat yourself, highly recommend if you are in Kyoto

Fun time making ramen noodles from scratch, and then getting to eat them for lunch. Yum! Hosts have great energy and spirit, and have the process/instructions dialed-in. One of our favorite hands-on experiences during our trip! No cooking skills required; just go do it. “No ramen, no life”

My 2 teenagers and I did this class. It was fun (mostly from interacting with others taking the class) and the result was delicious. The people that work there are joyful - but I didn't feel like they were very engaging. I don't feel like this was a good value - $100/person and we were done in an hour and a half. I think I'd still recommend it, because you're in Japan and it's cool to make ramen in Japan, but I wasn't wowed.

The whole class was a hit for our entire family with a 17 year old teenager, 8 year old boy and 6 year old girl. The instructor, Fuku, was wonderful - each step was easy to understand and focused on fun. This is an activity for young kids to older adults, the pacing kept things interesting the entire time. Highly recommend!

We had such a great time. The main host was Fuku, who has a great sense of humor and is delightful. You may think that the cost is high, but you use so many utensils, plates, measuring cups, plus you get instruction and gifts at the end that I won’t spoil the fun by revealing. You also create an amazingly delicious bowl of Ramen. I’ve never made noodles before, I would consider getting the pasta making attachment for my KitchenAid so I can make Ramen noodles at home. Freshly made Ramen noodles and they taste so much better. Any kid can do this, younger kids will need help with some of the parts like cutting the chicken and giving it a char with a brûlée torch. Especially if you are looking for a multigenerational activity, this will make everybody happy. Do it!

Thank you for sharing your experience! We're delighted to hear you had such a great time with Fuku, who always brings joy and humor to our sessions. We're glad you found the cost worthwhile with all the utensils, instructions, and special gifts included. Making an amazingly delicious bowl of ramen from scratch is indeed a unique experience! It's wonderful that you're considering making ramen noodles at home too. We agree that freshly made ramen noodles taste much better. It's a fun activity for all ages, and we're thrilled it can bring joy to multiple generations. Thank you for recommending us, and we hope to see you again!

This class was a highlight of our visit to Kyoto! Starting with a lovely surprise--the walk from the train to the location. There's a river with adorable crossing stones in the shapes of birds and turtles which delighted us all! The class itself was perfect. There were about 6 other people in the class and she did a lovely job making sure we all had a great time. The instructions were easy to follow, the instructor was entertaining and helpful and knew just when to offer to take a photo, and the ramen was delicious. We got complimentary t shirt on the way out which are now my kids' favorite sleep shirts!

It sounds like you had an amazing time at the class! The walk to the location sounds delightful, and it's wonderful that the class itself was perfect. Having a small group and an entertaining instructor can really enhance the experience. And receiving complimentary t-shirts as souvenirs is such a nice touch! If you ever want to recreate the experience or try something new, don't hesitate to reach out for more culinary adventures.

Making the ramen noodles was so easy will do it at home. The bowl of ramen was delicious and the souvenir a nice bonus. She took lots of pictures making for a nice memory. I want to say that for most people this is probably a really fun experience. For me, since I am very passionate about cooking, this wasn’t a good fit. Also, the value of the class was low. I’ve done multiple tours and programs in Japan and this was $110 for one hour in a group session.
What I liked: the instructors were friendly and engaging. Making my own noodles.
What I wasn’t thrilled about: the broth was pre made and in my opinion the most important part of ramen. I didn’t find the broth to my liking and it truly impacted the end result. About the only thing we did was make the noodles. The rest was really just putting pre prepared stuff together. We were shown a quick video at the start and then given pre measured ingredients to put together, so for me it wasn’t really a learning experience.
I think if the class had been $30-$40 it would have been worthwhile.

Dear, jondabomb Thank you for your feedback regarding your recent experience with our cooking class. We sincerely apologize that the class did not meet your expectations and for any inconvenience caused. We appreciate your comments about the friendly and engaging instructors, as well as the opportunity to make your own noodles. However, we understand your disappointment with the pre-made broth and the overall value of the class. Your feedback is invaluable, and we take it seriously. We are continuously working to improve our services and ensure a more enriching and hands-on learning experience for all participants. Your suggestion regarding the pricing and the importance of making the broth from scratch will be considered as we review our program offerings. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts. We hope to have the opportunity to serve you better in the future. Sincerely, Ramen Factory Kyoto

Alisa made this such a fun and exciting experience! She encouraged us to take photos/videos to capture the moment and was open to questions. We cooked the chicken, made the noodles from scratch, and used the sauces and broth provided to make our own soup to our liking. She explained the recipe and method step by step and the final result was a delicious bowl of ramen. Thanks Alisa and the team at Ramen Factory!
