About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- angelalB7952BH0 contributionsExceptional service from Kazu AkiyamaOur tour guide, Kazu, made our tour of Kyoto superb! He was an exceptional tour guide - on time, managed time well, engaging storyteller, positive demeanor, considerate, and got us to the places we wanted to visit with ease. He also took great photos and videos! We very much appreciated Kazu’s customer service excellence - going the extra mile to make customer’s experience truly memorable!Written 27 March 2025
- cindy_cls0 contributionsExcellent Tokyo Tour by TakaTaka gave us an excellent tour of Tokyo! He did exactly what we wanted and answered all our questions. We never could have taken the various subways to visit the locations that we wanted to see. We visited the National Park, had sushi and saki at the Tsukiji fish market, saw the Imperial Palace, had a Japanese tea ceremony and bought our favorite saki. He is professional and knowledgeable. The best guide!Written 27 March 2025
- DMP14010 contributionsExceeded expectationsWe arranged a guide for Hiroshima and Aya contacted us to discuss requirements and customised a schedule ahead of our tour, which was shared and agreed. Unfortunately the disembarkation process from our ship was a shambles which meant we were very late off but Aya communicated with us and waited. She was so helpful and obliging in adapting the plan. She was knowledgeable and great company. An excellent guide and we were very lucky to have her. Highly recommended. Thank you Aya.Written 27 March 2025
- U7109HLkathleenw0 contributionsA Wonderful Day Touring Osaka with YamaMy husband and I traveled to Japan for our honeymoon, and decided to take a tour of Osaka on our first full day to get a feel for the area and some of the local culture and customs. What we did not know when we booked this tour is that it would be one of the highlights of the trip! Yama, our tour guide, did a terrific job and we have absolutely zero complaints, but rather lots of praise! Yama clearly has gone the extra mile to know both the ins and outs of the area as well as the history of the places you can choose on your tour. Additionally, as a complete bonus Yama is hilarious and keeps the atmosphere fun and light-hearted making our tour experience even better. Yama was not shy in answering any of our questions and was sure to show us the best ways to respectfully enjoy the awe-inspiring sites of Osaka. Yama also was sure to take the time to take lots of pictures and was kind enough to be in some of our photos, both candid and posed of us throughout our experience, these photos are some of my favorites from the whole trip and now serve as priceless keepsakes of our wonderful time! If you lucky enough to stumble upon an opportunity to go on a tour with this company, it is definitely worth it based on my experience!Written 27 March 2025

They were on contact with me every day until it was fixed. 5 stars all the way. Yuki showed up and gave us the best day in Kyoto. Great English and very attentive to our needs. I was traveling with a 3 and 5 year old as well as a 72 year old grandpa. Everyone was stoked afterwards. Great conversation and easy to follow. And a great photographer! My family of four really enjoyed this tour. Our guide, Nori, was great-very knowledgeable, answered all of our questions thoughtfully, and the itinerary he set up for us was perfect. We saw everything we wanted to and did not feel rushed at all. We appreciated not having to figure out how to get to all the sights ourselves - we just followed Nori and got to where we needed to go. The Peace Museum was pretty crowded and it was difficult to read everything in all of the exhibits, so it was helpful to have our own guide who was able to answer our questions after we exited. Nori’s lunch recommendation was also great - we loved trying out “Hiroshima style” okonomiyaki. Overall, the tour was very educational, the Peace Park and Museum were interesting, and Miyajima Island was beautiful. It was a very worthwhile tour and I appreciated the fact that I could leave all the planning to someone else - I highly recommend it!

We were taken on a private guided tour of Miyajima island and Hiroshima by our lovely tour guide Nobuyuki (Nob). This was the most amazing tour and we would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Japan.
Nob met us at the train station at 9am and had planned out a detailed itinerary for the day to ensure we saw everything we needed to see. We began by getting the ferry to Miyajima island where we visited shrines and temples. Nob constantly provided information about everything we were seeing and told us interesting facts about the island that we would not have otherwise known about, making the trip all the more worthwhile.
Nob also took us for a delicious lunch at a local spot which he had booked in advance.
We then headed to Hiroshima which was an incredible experience and something everyone should do at least once. Particularly the museum which showcased the tragedies of nuclear weapons. Nob made this experience even more valuable by providing personal stories and explaining the history of Hiroshima so that we left with a much deeper understanding of the city and its history.
This was a 10/10 experience and we left at the end of the day having had an incredible time. We want to say a special thank you to Nob who was a fantastic tour guide with exceptional English!

What an amazing day. A fellow guest at the hotel where I was staying in Osaka suggested that I visit Hiroshima and so I booked a tour with a government licensed tour guide.
As with most of my itinerary in Japan, all I knew was that I was visiting Hiroshima and conducted no research whatsoever, besides what is already commonly known about the place.
The evening before the tour, Kurotobi called me over the telephone to confirm my train arrival time and to describe what she would be wearing.
I arrived at Hiroshima at the appointed time and she was there waiting for me at the ticket entrance. She greeted me with such warmth that I automatically relaxed and knew I was in for a great time. She asked me how I would like the trip planned and I told her she was in charge and that I’d follow her lead and boy am I glad. We went first to the island by train and ferry where I was educated by her on everything concerning the island. She took pictures of me in view of nori gate and after the tour she recommended an okonomiyaki restaurant off the beaten track that served the best I’ve ever had. I also felt really honoured that we ate together. During lunch we had lovely and personal conversations about life. We proceeded to the atomic bomb site and museum by tram and on the way, she taught me how to make my first ever origami crane which we left in commemoration of sadaki. The visit to the museum itself was quite emotional. We walked along the axis of peace with our last stop at the hypo centre. From there, she went with me back to Hiroshima station and ensured that I boarded my train back to Osaka before she left for home.
She is such a kind soul who made my trip even more special and I cannot recommend her and the tour highly enough.

I felt I was honored to have an opportunity to spend a day with you. You were always kind and thoughtful. When I heard your way of thinking about life, I could relax and relieve myself. I feel grateful for that. I could have a wonderful time with you.

My daughter and I booked a private tour of Hiroshima just for the two of us to make sure we could learn as much as possible about its history and culture. Our tour guide reached out to us the evening before noting our meetup location at the Shin-Hiroshima Station. When we got there, we couldn't find her despite following the instructions she provided. I reached out via text and provided photos for our location. After about 20 minutes of back and forth, she came up to me and somewhat scolded me for not being at the "right" location. She then proceeded to rush us to another train to get to a ferry for the island Miyajima. During the 30 minute or so train ride, she sat behind us and chatted with another commuter for most of the time. Departing the train, it seemed like we were chasing our guide to the ferry. Once on the ferry, our guide sat behind us again and I had to ask her what body of water we were on, what island we were going to, what its significance was -- it seemed I had to do a lot of prompting to get basic information that I'd expected her to provide unprovoked. When we got to the island, she mentioned we would be eating lunch at a location she already selected and having Hiroshima Okonomiyaka and we needed to get through the shrine in time for the 11:30 am lunch. At no point did she ask us what we would like to do during the tour, what our interests were or food preferences. It seemed that we needed to rush through the tour to accommodate a rigid schedule. She also was insistent that she pay for the entrance fees and other costs and would collect from us at the end of the tour which I objected to as I didn’t want to spend the time keeping a mental tab of what that cost would be at the end of the day. After some back and forth, I told her we would be paying for our own fees as we went and as explained on the Trip Advisor site for this booking. A couple of times, I was given a map of the island with its points of interest, and it appeared the intent was for me to read the information rather than her provide it. I wanted to take a picture of the Shinto Gate that is submerged in the water and there was a line. The guide did not want to wait for the line for me to do so and gave a location to the side that had obstructed views. This was very frustrating. It seemed she was not interested in accommodating our taking pictures. My daughter and I ended up huddling to figure out what to do and we decided to let the guide know we would continue without her services as the rushing around, absence of pertinent details on what we were seeing, general lack of meaningful answers to questions, and not being allowed to provide input on the day’s itinerary was becoming increasingly frustrating. My assumption was that, like other private tours, we would be able to provide our expectations or desires on what we wanted to see, do, eat, etc. Unfortunately, the tour was a wash at $351 USD. We ended up visiting the rest of the island on our own, taking the ferry back, and navigating ourselves to the Hiroshima Peace Museum which was a great, sobering experience. Takeaway from this: Make sure to set expectations with the tour company before booking so that you get a guide who can accommodate. (Note that my daughter is fluent in Japanese so none of this was due to a language barrier. Our guide simply seemed to be fixed on a rigid itinerary and rushing us through it.)

I had an incredible day trip to Hiroshima with my amazing tour guide Yuko. We covered so much ground and she went at the pace I wanted to and customized the day based on my preferences. Yuko was knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about sharing Hiroshima’s history and culture and she communicated well in advance of the day. I highly recommend this tour—it’s a meaningful and well-paced way to experience this historic city and I learned much more than if I had explored on my own.

I can't recommend this tour highly enough - we had an absolutely fantastic day. Yoko, our guide, obviously has a real love for her home city and has an encyclopedic knowledge of Hiroshima and the, surrounding areas. The visit to the Peace Gardens and museum were particularly moving and Yuko gave us plenty of time to try to take it all in and was always there to help answer our questions. We asked Yoko to recommend some local food and she booked an excellent restaurant over looking Miyajima - the Okonomiyaki she suggested was the best we had tasted during our stay in Japan. We finished the day on Miyajima with stunning views of the iconic landmarks that are there, Yuko provided great information on the area and was an expert on where to go to get the best pictures.
If you do book this tour I hope you're lucky enough to get Yuko as your guide I can guarantee you'll have a great time.

We very much enjoyed our experience on this tour with our guide, Miyu.
The first half of the tour (or maybe a little more) was exploring the island Miyajima, followed by coffee and lunch breaks, and ending in Hiroshima, visiting the Peace Memorial museum and some notable places around the area (Bomb Dome, various memorials, and more). We started at 10:30am and finished between 6 and 7pm, so it was basically an entire day. This all said, Miyu is open to crafting the tour however you’d like.
Miyu was very friendly and knowledgeable. Being from Hiroshima originally, she knows a lot about the history of the city and what it has to offer in terms of food and culture in addition to her extensive knowledge of WWII and what Hiroshima went through during that time. She was very open to answering questions and engaging in conversation. Given it’s a private tour, there’s lots of room to chat with her, which may be different from a group tour which is often much more listening rather than conversing.
We would definitely recommend you use her for this tour or others!

We had an incredible day with our guide Noriko. Noriko was the best guide ever! She communicated with us in advance, understood our preferences, prepared a customized itinerary, modified it a few times on our request, helped us book the right train to Hiroshima, received us at the platform at the station, and gave us a tour of both Miyajima and Hiroshima in 7 hours that would have taken us several days in our own. Noriko made sure we covered most of the major tourist attractions and took us to some local spots that only true locals would know. We got to see some amazing cherry blossoms in bloom at spots that didn’t have any tourists while all the touristy spots were very crowded. She made sure we got to use our time optimally and had made reservations for us at some amazing restaurants well in advance so we got a nice culinary tour as well! In Hiroshima we had an emotional and education experience and we were very grateful that Noriko shared personal stories and the historical record with us. She finished the tour by teaching us all how to fold origami paper cranes. Truly, Noriko is the best guide we’ve had the good fortune to connect with. I highly recommend her and her tour. Thank you so much Noriko!

Thank you so much for writing such a lovely review for me.
It was a busy day and so crowded as it was the time when cherry blossoms started to bloom.
So we had a quite tight schedule on that day.
Without your cooperation and help, we would not have been able to complete our itinerary on that day in a completely efficient manner.
Thank you again for your help.
I was happy you enjoyed beautiful scenery with cherry blossoms especially on Miyajima island.
I hope you will come back to Miyajima in autumn when you will see beautiful autumn leaves next time.
Enjoy your trip in Japan.
Best regards,
Noriko

Our tour to Miyajima and Hiroshima was wonderful. Our guide, Yuji, made this experience very memorable. Yuji met us on the train platform when we arrived and was extremely accommodating of my husband’s limited mobility.
We took a train and then a ferry to Miyajima. We were fortunate to have wonderful weather on the day of our tour and the scenery on the ferry ride was breathtaking. We enjoyed seeing all of the Sika deer on Miyajima. The Itsukushima Shrine torii gate is also a must see while visiting Miyajima. At points in the tour (while we were traveling and at lunch) Yuji gave us reading materials in advance of where we were visiting, to help explain Japanese history and culture. While visiting Miyajima, Yuji prayed for my husband’s healing and for our family’s health. He also performed beautiful music for us on his traditional Japanese flute.
Our visit to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum was a very moving experience. Our last stop at Hiroshima was the dome. It was sobering experience to see this reminder of the past. After the dome, Yuji took us back to the train station.
This tour was excellent and Yuji made it even more so with his attention to detail and personalizing the tour for us.
I have gone on many tours over the years and this was superior to any other. If you are able to get Yuji as your tour guide, I highly recommend him and this particular tour.

I was touched by the husband's attitude, who made an effort to see as many things as possible in Hiroshima, even though he was not feeling well. I am also very happy that you enjoyed the flute performance. Please come to Hiroshima again.

Our day in Hiroshima was a day of contrasts. Hide, a native of Hiroshima, provided a very unique glimpse into the background of this historical city. Meeting us at the cruise terminal, Hide led us to the sights, statues, and museum which were the focus of the first half of our day. Hide provided in depth commentary about the history of Hiroshima both before and after August 6, 1945 as we walked from the Atomic Bomb Dome through the Peace Memorial Park and finally to the Memorial Museum. We were given time to explore the museum which was a very sobering experience. The second half of the day began with lunch where we were introduced to okonomiyaki, a delicious savory Japanese pancake.
A short ferry ride to Miyanjima led us the Itsukushima Shrine and the Floating Torii Gate. Back in Hiroshima, we checked out the castle. We ended our experience with Hide providing guidance in our quest for baseball souvenirs for our grandson. An extra benefit to Hide’s tour was his excellent suggestions for the best places and angles for photographs. After a very full and memorable day, we were so honored to have Hide as our guide. He provided the personal experiences that we had hoped for and we would highly recommend him.

Hi, is this tour that only includes government licensed guide for a day for £155 really the best there is in Hiroshima? I must say I’m taken back by the cost, which would mean that two of us are paying in excess of £300 for a one day guided tour? Am I missing something?

We were staying in Osaka and caught the shinkasen from osaka to hiroshima
We reserved seats so we gave the tour guide our arrival time and platform and he met us at the platform

Why is the listed price one value, then more than double after I check availability for one person.

We took guides in a number of cities. None of the guides had cars to pick us up. Depending on the city, they met us at hotels and took subways, trains, public buses or walked. I suspect that you can arrange for the guide to take you by taxi to the train station and help you with the lockers. In Hiroshima we walked to some sites, took public buses to other sites, took a ferry to Miyajima Island. You need to use a tour company that can adjust o your needs and schedule. For every city, the guide emailed us long before the tour. In Hiroshima we changed the sequence because we wanted to end up on Miyajima and stay longer there than the tour duration. The guides are all very accommodating as long as they know ahead of time. All of our guides were independent and got their assignments from the tour companies from online listings. Just be clear what you want and need.

do we need to go to all the places mentioned in the itinerary, or can we choose specific places in the list?
we would like to maximize our 6 hr tour with the following places in mind
1. Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum (does this include the Atomic Bomb Dome?)
2. Itsukushima Shrine (Miyajima)
3. Onomichi
4. Hiroshima Castle

Hello
You can definitely do that, just make sure you tell the tour guide what would you like to do and they can help you

Good day! I would just like to ask if there is a possibility of the start times to be adjusted from 9 AM to a later time? My family's flight will be arriving at 8:45 AM at the Kansai International Airport and from the information we've received, it takes about 2-3 hours to go to Hiroshima via JR. We really hope to go to Hiroshima on that day as that is the only free day with have for our trip. Thanks.

My trip is confirmed and I asked the supplier to collect me from my hotel. However the TripAdvisor site displays an error when I tried to review my booking. So I can not verify that the supplier will collect me.
