The tagine class was enjoyable and I would feel confident to cook a vegetarian tagine now. The teacher was a little immature. He was so keen to impress the two young Belgian woman (there were 3 of us in the class) and not at all interested in interacting with me - an older woman. I had hoped for some cultural insights but few were forthcoming. The teacher's companion had more depth and insight. The tagine tasted great.

We had such a great time. The host brought a friend and they where both amazing.

They first took us to the market where we could choose local products to make our tajine. They explaned everything about the products and how we where going to use them.

Arrived at his home we began to Cook. They also had some thee and cookies for us.

We had a nice chat and they sang a song and played local music on their instruments.

The tajine in the end was delicious. We would certanly reccomend this host!

    Kind regards Robine and Steve.

I booked together with a friend. Abdou sent us a location to meet at 6 pm close to the market. There we were joined by a couple who had booked for the same night. Abdou and Faisal would buy meat, fish, vegetables and spices with us and then take a taxi to Abdou's place. There we prepared the tajines together, cooked them and then ate them together. As we were 4 people, we would prepare two tajines. The food was delicious and the experience very authentic. I can really recommend it if you want to spend a very relaxed evening with good food and learn more about the local population.

Abul was a terrific host who taught how to make a preserved lemon chicken tagine. He took us shopping, there for a minute I thought we were going to have to pluck our own chicken, but alas no we didn’t! He taught us about local music and gave us a glimpse into his life. He went out of his way to welcome us into his home and look after us.

We made a delicious vegetarian tagine with Abdou. He is a kind and helpful person. He walked us through the whole process of buying and preparing the tagine. It was wonderful. He also turned us on to the great Gnaoua music and played a song for us. Very cool. His English was very good and he was an easygoing person to be with. Thanks! Jose and Jim

A great experience from start to end. Great communication with Abdou, well organised, good chat with the others who attended and even live music in Abdou's apartment. Good information regarding the spices and cooking of the produce, very tasty too!!!

Our family including a 12 year old daughter had a wonderful evening with Abdou. We met at a Medina gate, went to the food market where Abdou purchased vegetables and lamb. We took a quick taxi ride to Abdou's apartment where Abdou then walked us through building our lamb tagine and veggie tagine. He was chilled, positive and pleasant which put our daughter at ease. He was so kind that he used a brand new tagine for the veggie dish; knowing that our daughter is a vegetarian. Abdou introduced us to Gnawa music and while the tagines were cooking away, we talked about life in Morocco. He also served tea and delicious cookies homebaked by his sister. We have done cooking classes in Bejing, Tehran, Alicante and Barcelona; and find it to be a pleasant and down to earth mode to get to know a local and talk openly about local life and culture. We can whole heartedly recommend spending an evening with this genuine and kind man and yes, the tagines were delicious. We will try to replicate the dish at home.

Wonderful authentic cooking experience. Interesting visit to local sellers for the meat and the vegetables. Great to learn about the tea making (as we were doing it wrong!) and sampling local cakes.
The knowledge and skills do Abdou was superb - had great fun as we were a group of 3 female friends - all got involved in the preparation. Tasting the final dishes was divine and then time spent finding out about local culture from our wonderful host! Highly recommend you do this! Abdou also gave us top tips on where to buy souvenirs like Saffron in local non-tourist areas.

The experience with Abdou was great from start to finish. I and my 15 and 12 year old met him near the medina before going to the local food market to select our chicken (live) and vegetables. At his apartment he taught us how to prepare a chicken tagine whilst fielding our numerous questions on Moroccan culture. After eating our delicious tagine we went to buy spices and a tagine pot in his local shops - so much better doing it this way than the usual tourist traps!
Abdou is friendly, extremely helpful (he’s answered my cuisine enquiries now I’m back home) and with fluent English it’s a fantastic experience to delve a little deeper into Moroccan life.
