- evet6470 contributionsAmazing North Borneo Sightseeing TourThank you for the amazing sightseeing sunset train tour arranged by TYH Borneo Tours & Travel, special thanks to John and team for the effort and arrangement. We had a wonderful evening and enjoyed the north borneo railway during our train tour to Sungai Benoni. Everything was perfect as we managed to see a beautiful Sunset. Definitely worthwhile to join this North Borneo Sightseeing Sunset Train Tour.Written 27 January 2025
- 131mikaelac0 contributionsGreat company to book with!TYH were an exceptional company to work with to book tours and experiences. As a solo traveller in Kota Kinabalu, I was limited in tours I could do due to most being minimum two people however, the team at TYH worked with me to ensure I was able to do most tours and experiences that I wanted. Communication via WhatsApp was fast, polite and always super helpful. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone!Written 24 January 2025
- vivianz6070 contributionsFantastic, value for money tourGreat tour with Steven today! He covered thoroughly the canopy walk and kinabalu park. We learned a lot of plants and nature there, interesting stuff. Would recommend, especially to nature lovers or people who enjoy walks or being active. The canopy bridge seems high however once you're on, it is not too bad. Foliage heavily covers the ground so doesn't feel like you are high up. Also we saw the rafflesia keithil flower which was lucky as seeing the flower isn't guaranteed, blooms slow and finishes fast. It was a fantastic, worth our money day :))Written 7 January 2025
- torlisajeffrey0 contributionsAvoid if big tour groups aren’t your thingWas unclear from the details that the trip would be a huge tour group, we spent over an hour simply collecting people from pickup spots. Unfortunately the selection of activities also just felt like a cobbling together of various random activities for a big tour group. Lastly the tour guide, albeit the older uncle that he is, spent so much time rambling off topic that it made it difficult to get any sleep on the tour bus.Written 1 January 2025
- 363luw0 contributionsJust a great experience in Kota KinabaluWe booked the trip about one day before, only to the park and the hot spring. Our guide is old and experienced. He followed the itinerary and gave good advice on what to see and where to take photos. We were lucky with the weather as it only rained after we finished the trekking..The trails we went were only about 1-2km long each. Good for any one. There are so many flora to see along the way and our guide gave us as much introduction as he can. We really appreciate it.Written 30 December 2024
- Passport422864077020 contributionsExcellent tour. Recommended. Car, driver, guide and the tour all are good.Amazing. The tour was really good. Pick up from hotel, village visit, food and return back. Wendy and Rizal both are very good. Wendy was very caring. She helped a lot. While returning back, dropped us based on our request, took photos and shared. Hopefully everyone will like it. Thanks again.Written 28 December 2024

- WorldGlutton0 contributionsWorth recommending!!!!(4D3N KUNDASANG+KK 3 DEC - 8 DEC 2024 - ORGANISER MDM PHANG) Upon arrival , our Tour leader Francis Lim lead us to the Luxury Coach. We were driven to check in at Kinabalu Pine Resort in Kundasang. Room is comfortable ,views of Mount Kinabalu peak is amazing from our verandah. The down side is some of our senior members are allocated at higher ground, not an easy climb for them. Dinner is simple halal steam boat, breakfast is own choice local ala carte. Poring Tree Top Canopy Walk is a series of 5 suspended Rope Bridges. After a tiring walk, we soak our foot in the Hot Spring !!! Desa Dairy Farm has superb view of the Mount Kinabalu, a beautiful garden where lots of visitors are taking picture. Dinner was seafood at Welcome Restaurant. Nice ambience, good service and food is delicious. Breakfast at Fat Kee Restaurant is a total disappointment !. We were told not to order more than Rm30/-. This include a bowl of our choice noodles either soup of dry, and a plate of fry wanton. Too much noodles in soup , it tasted bland with chewy & tough seafood. The Lady Owner promoted side dish at our own payment. Rm68 for a small plate of braised fish lips. Lots to discover on the local 5 tribal houses in Mari Mari Cultural Village, with the rain & groups following one another, it was difficult to hear the explanations. Sunset Borneo Cruise was not very exciting, it was raining, we did not get to see the sunset. After 15 mins on the water, The Ship had to cruise back to the wharf. Buffet Dinner is average. However we did enjoy the entertainment. Frankie Lim took us to have Sang Yuk Mein for breakfast at Kedai Kopi Jia Siang. Noodle is springy, slice meat is tender, soup is tasty. Thumbs up for this!! On the last day, we tour around KK town, walk around the Sabah Foundation as well , walk into Pu Tuo Si Temple for photography sessions. Thereafter to Cocoa Kingdom & Fung Seng Frozen Seafood for shopping spree !! All in all, it was a memorable and enjoyable trip, especially with Frankie serenating us at the end of our Tour. A special thanks to Frankie Lim for being patience and thoughtful to accommodate us in a comfortable, cosy 46 seaters Coach for the 3 days tour. It is indeed worth having TYH Borneo Tours & Travel Sdn Bhd for the tour!!!Written 9 December 2024

Mr. Tang our tour guide was helpful & took great pleasure explaining flora & faunas of Kinabalu park, canopy walk, hot springs & tasting of local fruits en route. I recently had an exceptional experience with TYH Borneo Tours and Travels. The entire process, from booking to the actual tour, was incredibly smooth. The team responded promptly, and their prices were reasonable. Our guide, Michelle, proved to be highly experienced, taking us to the most breathtaking places.
We opted for the Manukan and Sapi Islands package, which included a four-hour stay on Manukan and 2-3 hours on Sapi. The sea walking and paragliding activities on Manukan were unforgettable, and there are various other water activities to choose from, each with an additional charge.
What impressed me the most was that snorkeling, island entry fees, and meals were all inclusive. The meal provided was not only delicious but also maintained high hygiene standards. The convenience of pickup and drop-off at the hotel added to the overall positive experience. I highly recommend TYH Borneo Tours and Travels for their professionalism, variety of activities, and excellent service. It's a trip worth every penny.

A fantastic day! The tour was well organised from start to finish. Alfie, our tour guide, was simply perfect - providing information, looking after our things while we swam with a wide range of beautiful fish and keeping us informed about the timing of the day. Loved Manukan and Sapi and was so glad we chose this company who represented good value for money. Lunch and water provided too. I absolutely recommend this tour to anyone wanting to see the islands in an stress-free way. Thank you TYH Borneo and thank you Alfie!

I loved the personal guide that was with us from the start to the end! I decided to do island hopping with my friend and both girls doing island hopping won't be as safe. We had 2 islands included, with packed lunch.
Everything was smooth from the jetty, to the island hops, and the surprise was the lunch!
I assumed it was going to be a local takeaway pack but when we opened, it had a full set that came with side dishes, meat, fruits and desserts.
We only needed to walk and share where we wanted to go or do. There were water sport activities available. We loved Sapi the most as it had more swimming area.
The timing was also quite right, as 3pm came, the clouds began to gather.
From the man handling the boat, to the guide, it was a pleasant experience. I would explore their other offerings when I'm back to Kota Kinabalu.

I had a Disappointing experience. It was just me on the tour, no one else despite waiting for others to join.
Guide started off friendly then wasn't and was actually quite rude and didn't seem to have any idea about the itinerary and was relying on another person to tell him.
There was no tour - he bought my ticket, and that was about it. Then sent me off in a grab without even a goodbye at the end!Needs to work on his customer service and social skills. Lunch was cold and below average, would have preferred to have hot lunch and bought it on the day. The day itself was impacted by the guide and his attitude, and I left feeling like I paid a lot of money for a poor experience.

Overall, the experience was rather disappointing. For one of the more expensive tour we signed on, both the planning and execution of the programme was not well done. We were not brief on the itinerary clearly and was just following our guide around aimlessly. To further mention, our guide (shall not name names) was rather inexperienced and unaware of flow of events. Whenever we have a question for her, she would end up going to other guides to ask them instead. Furthermore, the guide just casually inform us that snorkelling equipments are not available (which we paid to include in the tour package). It was not till we demanded a refund then did they bother to transport it to the island…While we have to admit that we did paid to sign on for extra water activities, it was pretty regretful to inform you guys that no advice was given to us that by doing so, we will have no time to snorkel (like we reached the second island at 1.51pm after parasailing and have to leave at 2pm). What was worse is that we have no time to consume our lunches and have no choice but to consume it on the boat back on our way to the main jetty as hunger kicks in. In conclusion, we would like to say it is wiser to visit jesselton point/ jetty to purchase your own tickets and then rent your own equipments on the island as it is definitely more affordable and anyway our guide may have bought the tickets on the day itself LOL (you can also buy on your first day of visit if you are afraid that it runs out). Have fun in Kota Kinabalu!

Hi there ,
I understand your frustration. Our guide already brief all the itinerary , before depart to another island we already provide the lunch at first island. Due to peak session, the guide actually ask the boat man when will get the snorkelling set for you and departure time to the next island as the boat schedule may vary from time to time. Futhermore, I am very sorry to learn that your tour to Island Hopping didn't met your expectation. Regarding your constructive feedback, we shall definitely look into them, we appreciate the review as these helps us to improve better in our services in meeting to exceed our guests' experiences when touring with us. Thank you.

As a solo traveller I like to book group tours to meet people, however it was just me.
It wasn't even a speed boat, it was a passenger ferry. It transports island guests to different destinations so you are on the ferry for longer than necessary which cuts into your time on the islands.
There was no buffet lunch what so ever, I got cold beans, egg and rice!! It was carried around by the lady for who knows how long. It was inedible. Absolutely tasteless and I was concerned about the length of time between cooking and receiving it. It was given to me in the last hour and a half. I was really looking forward to the buffet lunch, so I only had a piece of fruit for breakfast. I was absolutely starving. I expressed my frustrations and disappointment and was told that they did not book me in for the island buffet lunch. This is one main inclusion of this expensive tour.
It wasn't a tour as such. She literally bought my ticket then I met her 3.5hrs later when we transferred to Sapi island. I could have done this myself, and actually eaten delicious, fresh food at one of the restaurants.
Extremely expensive for what you actually get. It only costs one quarter of this tour price for the tickets. Other parts of Malaysia - Perhentian, Langkawi, Redang Islands only charge 55RM for the same day out, but so much more fun and enjoyable.
The beaches were lovely, nice snorkeling.
Save your cash, don't book this tour. You can do it so easily independently. It was the worst tour I have done in the last six weeks of exploring Malaysia.
I have requested a 75% refund as I was so let down.

As we have only a few hours time before we want to drive to Kundasang, the company was able to specially arranged the tour for just the 2 of us to one island which is the Manukan as we wanted.
Our young tour guide, Zack showed us around the beautiful island and brought us to an area that’s away from the crowd which is very nice and helped to take very nice photos for us as he knows where and what to capture. He also shared some information on Kundasang with us because we were going there in the afternoon. We are happy with his service and really enjoyed the trip.

The tour was very good with the beautiful scenery in Manukan Island and Sapi Island. The lunch boxes were prepared nicely which surprised us.
The tour guide Nilven took very good care of us, helped us to safekeep our belongings and was very patient with us. He knows when to take photos for us and catching the sunshine. The driver Khairul was very professional as well. Overall, I would recommend this tour. Definitely worthwhile to join.

The views on the island and on the boat between the islands were amazing! This is a must do activity for anybody in Sabah. My guide E-man was very personable and friendly, telling me about life on Borneo and showing me where to find the best wildlife. My highlight was seeing four Komodo Dragons on one of the islands!
