Nozomi was a friendly and very knowledgeable guide who spoke excellent English. The artisans we visited were masters of their trade and demonstrated their finely honed skills. And there was no pressure selling!

Happy with the tour and a knowledgeable tour guide. The Samurai city has an interesting history. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Can't speak highly enough of our experience. Communication from Kanazawa Tours was concise and specific, confirmed details in advance so that we were confident that all was in order. Our driver/guide Tetsuro was exceptional; courteous, efficient, helpful, and friendly. He was always happy to lengthen/shorten elements of our tour to ensure that we got what WE wanted, not just a standard tour. We highly recommend this service.

Our guide Kumiko was wonderful, very helpful, charming, and funny (we loved the little hand puppet panda and the little jumping paper frogs she folded for us sur place). She was also flexible in meeting our wishes and organising an impromptu lunch in a nice small restaurant on the road from Shirakawa-go to Kanazawa, and accompanied us right to the hotel reception to drop us off there. We can only recommend her!

Sachiko was an absolutely wonderful tour guide. Very friendly and insightful. We had a wonderful time. We felt like we saw all of the major attractions in Kanazawa and would highly recommend this tour! We were a little rushed to get all three areas done in the half-day: if you have slower party members or a big group the full day tour may be more appropriate.

We had a great trip to Shirakawago. Our guide Tetsuro picked us up at our hotel. We had a quiet drive out. As the ladies slept, Tetsuro told me a bit about the region and Japan. The name means village by the white river, it takes a month of courses to get your driver's license in Japan, interesting tidbits like that. We were fortunate it was a sunny day and Tetsuro remarked that he had never seen the parking lot so empty. His quiet demeanor and knowledge really made our trip memorable. Would definitely recommend this trip with Tetsuro.

Sachiko was a great pleasure to be with. Very knowledgeable, professional, polite, always smiling. A pleasure to be with.

Tetsuro was very attentive and asked us what we wanted to see. He explained what we were passing and took us to the key sites in Kanazawa. He was able to answer the majority of our questions. The tour included a visit to an artisan‘s house who was designing kimonos, which was very interesting. The items the artisan was selling were very, very beautiful but also very expensive. We had a very enjoyable morning with Tetsuro and would highly recommend.

Our guide Nozima was fantastic. Knowledgable, engaging, excellent English. We visited two artisanal homes - both hugely interesting and informative. The time, and lovely lunch, also allowed for some detailed questions, and answers on Japanese culture, history and way of life. Altogether a very enjoyable day which is highly recommended. Nozomi is a star!

Nozomi Kondo (Kanazawa Tours - acting on behalf of Firebird Tours) was a joy to spend the day with! She met us early at the hotel...just the way we like. Also, very professional and knowledgeable about Japan. She made us feel comfortable right away and we felt like family by the end of our tour. We laughed, learned and can consider her a friend.

Ai was our tour guide and she was not only extremely knowledgeable about Kanazawa’s culture and history, but she was welcoming, warm and friendly as well. The tour was a highlight of our Japan trip. We most highly recommend it!

This was such a lovely day! Tetsuro took us to Shirakawago and Takayama (it was too snowy to go to Hida Furukawa) and we had a blast. He was very informative and patient with us. We truly appreciated that he took notice of our speed and was ready to change things up when we asked. If you are going in the winter months, make sure you dress appropriately - there were 3-4 meters of snow when we went and it was beautiful! It was an amazing day and I hope we can do it again.

Two very beautiful towns to visit and learn their history. It’s amazing to think people have lived here for hundreds of years. Tetsuro was a delightful guide with interesting history facts and information on the areas. Well worth the trip.

Our Tour Guide was Ai san. I can highly recommend her as a guide. She has a great know-how. And she is so passionate about Kanazawa, it is such a fun to listen to her and ask her questions. Her spark springs over to the group. Really loved it. 🤩

Our guide Sachiko and our driver Ian were great. They were very patient with us and showed us all the important things. They have a lot of knowledge about the place. We got to know the place in Inami and the art of woodcutting. Afterwards, we had lunch together. Simply a fantastic day. The place in Inami is very idyllic and absolutely worth a visit. We can only recommend it.
