Unforgettable camel ride and 2 days hiking, living among the Bedouins
We spent 3 wonderful days in Wadi Rum, dense of breath-taking experiences and relaxing moments enjoying the peace and silence of the desert, all organized by Khaled, the manager, and made possible by multiple people from the staff working for us around the clock. On day one we rode the camel from the village to the camp sightseeing along the way (Al-Ramal red sand dunes, Khazali canyon, little rock bridge). Our guide Faisal was very kind and although his English was basic he could answer all our questions about the camels and local culture. The next 2 days we hiked the "Bedouin trails trek": our guide Youssef lead us through untouched canyons, dunes and rocks across the desert to see the stunning views over the wadis and Jabal Umm ad Dami. Youssef is a kind young man who told us all about the place and Bedouin life in fluent English, as well as playing with us the games of his childhood like rolling stones and sand sliding that made the experience unforgettable. Meals and camping were taken care by Suleiman, who was also very kind and willing to help. Lunch was stewed vegetables and legumes with feta cheese, while dinner was mutabal. Hard boiled eggs for breakfast. Bedouin thyme tea and flatbread were always ready. Suleiman also took care of transportation with his Isuzu pick-up truck. we spent the night under the stars by the fire (they provided sleeping bag, blankets and mattresses). We spent two nights at the camp in the tent, dinner and breakfast were included. Overall the commodities at the camp consist of the basic essential (shared toilets, sinks and showers), while the dining hall is beautiful and you get to eat a buffet mutabal dinner around the fireplace sharing the experience with Khaled and the other guests. This is not a luxurious resort, but a base camp for your adventures in the desert, and the price per night is extremely fair considered that is all inclusive of accommodation, meals and transportations. Don't be fooled by reviews that complain about the weather, broken cars or the kindness of staff: -the desert is a beautiful place that has something to offer in all conditions -the Bedouins know more than you about driving safely across the desert -Khaled is a kind and experienced manager and a true Bedouin from the local tribe who puts his heart into his job and doesn't let anyone disrespectful walk over him

          Overpriced and poor-quality tour
Our guide was a 27-year-old young man, didn’t speak good English, and was less than enthusiastic. At each point of interest, he would show us the way at the starting point, and returned to wait for us in the car. There’s no explanation about the history or geography of the sites we visited. Lunch on both days were stew tomatoes with local bread. We were a family of 4, and each tent is for 2 persons. The camping equipment was of poor quality, and there’s only two pieces of tent peg, one for each tent. At the beginning, Khaled suggested that we brought one tent only and the two men can sleep on the sand to watch the starry sky. That could be a good suggestion for the summer season, but definitely not a good one in the middle of winter. We requested to have a second tent, and we were pleased that we had insisted on having the second one before we started. It was very windy and cold at night, and the wind cover of one of the tents was blowed away by the strong wind, as there’s no tent pegs to pitch it more firmly to the ground. The guide is a Bedouin and a good cook. The Zarb chicken he cooked for dinner was considered by our children as the best and most memorable meal we had in our Jordan trip. We chose the sunrise-hike tour, but the guide had been saying the night before that in the morning it will rain, and there’s no point to go. In the morning of the second day, we woke the guide up at the agreed time, and he led us to the middle of a hill, not the top, to wait for the sunrise. That’s about 6:40am. After waiting for 30 minutes, he told us that the sun would only come out at 9am, there was too much cloud and we would not see the sun, there’s no point to wait, and we should go back. I knew the sunrise in Jordan was around 7:30am in that week, and I told him if we didn’t see the sun before 8am, then we go back. We saw a beautiful sunrise at 07:40. The truck which was a Toyota, was really old, and on the second day, it broke down almost every 30 minutes. Every time, we had to get off the truck, and the guide had to pump the tyre in order for the truck to move again. We had to find wood to make fire for cooking each meal, setting up the tents, and packed everything and put back onto the truck the next day. It’s a do-it-yourself tour, with one young man who functioned only as a driver and a cook, and that’s it. For about GBP600 for a family for this 2-day 1-night trip, with an average guide, a problematic car and the poor equipment provided, it was very pricy. If we ever visit Wadi Rum again, we would not go with the same agent for sure.

Well organized, fantastic 2 nights in the desert with sunrise hike
Very highly recommend! We really appreciated the well organized 2-day tour that Khaled organized. Communication and planning was smooth, and Khaled was very helpful with arranging logistics. The tour was very well organized, with delicious meals, good camping spots, and well timed for sunset and sunrise. We did the sunrise hike of Jabal umm ad Dami which was a very unique and special experience. We slept near the base and climbed up at 5am with the moonlight. Highly recommend - we were very well taken care of! The only suggestion is that it would have been nice to learn more about the history of the area and how the Bedoin people live in the environment.

Organisator will look after you and try to make everthing perfect
The tour was organized by Khaled, who accommodated all our wishes. Lunches were cooked in the desert, and dinner was particularly spectacular (our request for vegetarian options was met, and he even checked the soup powder ingredients). Khaled stayed with us as long as we were awake, entertaining us with his stories. We chose the Desert Eyes Explorer package, which included attractions in Wadi Rum on the first day and a hike up a mountain on the Saudi Arabian border on the second day. Everything was amazing!

Incredible Night Under The Stars & Excellent Tours
Our time in Wadi Rum with Desert Eyes was incredible! We had booked onto the combined Sunset Tour and Under The Stars package, which saw us picked up in Rum village, taken to various historical, cultural, and geological sites, before stopping at a natural (tiny) gorge where our guides set up a camp for the evening, whilst we enjoyed an utterly beautiful sunset over the desert. The sunset tour itself was great, and our main guide, Mohammed, did a fantastic job of telling us about each site and answering our (many) questions. It's a fascinating area, with a frankly ridiculous amount of visible history, particularly with the centuries of petroglyphs on display. Having watched the sun dip below the horizon, we went back to our little camp, now with a fire roaring and our traditional Zarb barbecue already cooking away. The enclosed walls of the cut-in completely shelter you from any wind, but the lack of a roof means that the smoke simply wafts away, and once we'd turned in for the night, we could look up and enjoy the Milky Way overhead. Completely magical! We were joined by Achmed (our excellent cook for the evening) and Khaled (the owner) for our meal, and got to hear all sorts of stories about local life within the Bedouin community and immediate area whilst enjoying some delicious salads, chicken, roast vegetables, and baklava. Camping out was very easy, as they provide padded mats (extremely comfortable on the sand, even for someone with a bad back like myself), thick sleeping bags, and even thicker woollen blankets -- we ended up much too warm in the end! In fact, we enjoyed our tour and evening so much that we extended our time and went on another tour the next morning with them. If you are spending the night out, I'd recommend this, as because we were starting an hour or so away from the village (and most of the rest of the accommodation sites in Wadi Rum), we were able to travel out much further into the reserve, to the White Desert. We hiked up a small dune to see some incredible views out towards the mountains and the Saudi border, and then met our guide's family at their Bedouin homestead, where we shared some excellent tea and heard more about their way of living. It was a really interesting morning, and felt like a much wilder side of Wadi Rum -- we even saw a Blanford's fox on the way back!

          Amazing tour, but stay sharp.
Every part of my actual tour was amazing. The guide was great and the whole two day experience was excellent. However, when I arrived to start the tour, the trip organisers informed me that I must leave my car keys with him as it was not possible to leave the car in the agreed meeting area and they would move the car to a different location while I started my tour. After two days, when I returned to collect the vehicle, around a third of the tank was missing. Obviously this was a stupid choice on my part, I just didn’t expect this kind of scam from such a well reviewed company.

          Great experience in the desert
This was a beautiful experience and highly recommend it. The camels are well looked after by the Bedouins and are gorgeous animals. The dessert sun on your back as you take a slow ride is a wonderful feeling

          Wow & Wow!!
We had an amazing day with Ali as a guide!! Both relaxed and informative and now, a day after, still impressed by the sheer size, rest and beauty of the Wadi Rum. The desert camp was very nice - basic, though clean and cosy. Great choice for a night the desert!

          Amazing Place to Visit
We went with our family of four (two teenage children) and all had the best day. By far the best place we visited on our trip to Israel and Jordan. Beautiful views and our driver was super friendly. They let us stay later to watch the stars as we drank our tea. We felt well taken care of from start to finish. Such a memorable experience!

          Standout agency for Wadi Rum!
Absolutely 5* experience organising with Desert Eyes - so easy and professional to communicate with. From immediate WhatsApp responses to thoughtful guides (snacks and teas brought up to us even on cliff top when we were sitting by ourselves). They were very patient to answer all sorts of questions I had in host to customise the experience, which was much appreciated. Could’ve have imagined doing wadi rum without them. One slight recommendation is if the guide could’ve volunteered more facts and trivia about the culture and sites, that would be fab.

          Gorgeous!
Spectacular tour! I wish we’d had more time to see the rest of this place. I also wish we had booked to spend the night in the park. Our guide was wonderful, took lots of photos for us, made us a fire and warmed up traditional tea while we watched the sunset together. He had a great eye for photography.

Wadi Rum to Aqaba Camel Trek - 3 days/2 nights
We put ourselves totally in the hands of Desert Eyes and had an amazing experience! Our camels were clearly well cared-for and healthy. The camel guide was Bedouin/English-speaking and extremely competent, our Bedouin chef was amazing, producing beautiful traditional food for us. The Desert Eyes owner checked each day that everything was in order. We had wonderful Bedouin evenings with fantastic food, and a lot of fun. The desert was amazing, in the daytime and also at night. This trip totally overdelivered. Our hosts really took great care and we felt humble and honoured to be their guests. In the desert there is no WC, so we were very discrete and left no litter; it was no problem. A Bedouin shower (water bottle with punctured holes in the lid) was a great solution. My husband and I both developed sore bottoms from skin-on-skin chafing (no fault of the camels/equipment). Next time we would use something to prevent this!

          Unbelievable Experience in Wadi Rum
I stayed with the Wadi Rum Desert Eyes group for a full day tour and overnight at their camp in Wadi Rum. The guides are very knowledgeable and helpful in traversing the many sights and scenes across Wadi Rum. They are the most helpful people you will ever meet. Water was provided throughout with breaks when needed. The lunch and dinner given by the team in a traditional bedouin tent tasted great. It's an excellent touch to spend the evening after dinner surrounding a campfire, drinking traditional bedouin tea under the stars. It is an amazing experience to see Wadi Rum and to spend time with the bedouin people, and Khaled, Salameh my guideand all the rest of the team make this an even better experience. I highly recommend booking a tour and staying overnight with the Wadi Rum Desert Eye Company. Its the best experience ever, with the best people possible.

An absolutely amazing 24 hours in the desert. Khaled is was very responsive prior to our visit and accommodated our transfer from the bus at the visitors centre to the village where the tour began! The hike was fantastic with insane view sand our guide Mohammed was friendly and helpful/ knowledgeable. We had a delicious Bedouin tea and lunch before heading back to the camp to sleep! Feb 2023
At the end of February 2023, we did the "Bedouin Steps Tour" offered by Wadi Rum Desert Eyes.

The booking process was very easy and quick.
Similarly, the taxi pickup from our hotel in Aqaba South beach at 9 am was smooth and easy as was the quick 60 min ride to Wadi Rum.

Upon arrival at Wadi Rum village around 10 am, Khaled gave us a warm and calming welcome while we had a chat along a coffee to discuss the day.

Next, we started our trip on the back of a Toyota pickup to the more remote and less visited parts of the Wadi Rum national park. During our tour, we barely saw any other visitors even though it is a busy time for visiting the park. Hence, the "Bedouin Steps Tour" is absolutely recommended from us for those who want to escape the crowds and enjoy the tranquility, calmness and relaxing atmosphere of the magnificent desert.

End of February was a great time to visit as many desert flowers were blooming and turned the sand dunes into a sea of wealth and life from insects, reptiles and birds to goats and sheep brought by shepherds as well as several groups of dromedary strolling around the valleys. For nature lovers, we would recommend that time of visit.

During our tour, we visited 6 sites but without and rush or hassle. There was always enough time and we never felt some kind of rush mood.

Our guide spoke good English and was very kind and friendly. He prepared tasty vegetarian lunch, there was always enough water and we had great tea.

After watching the sunset, we returned to Wadi Rum village, said goodbye and were immediately transferred back to Aqaba in a short 60 min taxi ride.

All in all, we highly recommend the "Bedouin Steps Tour" and enjoyed it very much.

Thank you for a great time!

An amazing experience. Khaled and his team were super friendly and professional. He organised our Hotel pickup and we met him in the Village of Wadi Rum. He was very welcoming. The tour was done by his son Ali who was a great driver and tour guide and also a great cook! He showed us all the best spots and even stayed with us a little bit after sunset so we could enjoy the stars coming up!

Just returned from my wonderful 7 day 100km trek in Jordan. I can honestly say this has been one of the best experiences I’ve ever had.

The Bedouin guides were friendly, helpful and supported my group over the 7 days and made us feel at home each night at the desert camps. The meals were very tasty and wholesome, sleeping arrangements were vast and the 7 day trip was very well organised.

Khalid looked after us very well and goes above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction and treated us with utmost respect.

Definitely will be going again with this wonderful group.

We (30 and 31 years old, from Switzerland) booked the "Rakhabat Canyon Day Hike" with a taxi transfer from the Mövenpick Resort Tala Bay in Aquaba. Everything was perfect for us and everything went smoothly. From the taxi transfer, ATM stop, hike, lunch, jeep tour, sightseeing to sunset! Great value for money! Friendly guide, good driver and cook! The tour requires some skill, surefootedness and a head for heights. Very satisfied, impressed but also tired, we were driven back to the hotel by the taxi driver!

The whole organization was perfect and clear - from the reservation to the end. Khalid was super supportive in giving tips and assisting us before we arrived. The transportation was on time to take us from Aqaba to the Wadi Rum desert. Our guide was amazing and gave us a lot of information about the desert. The overnight stay in the desert provided everything we wanted.
Definitely recommend Desert Eyes for a trip to Wadi Rum!

This was our highlight of our trip to Jordan. From the moment we arrived we were treated with amazing hospitality. We did the Sunset Camel Ride tour from Aqaba, the Desert Eyes team took care of our transfer to Petra after the tour. Very well organised, when we arrived to Wadi Rum the camels were ready for us. Riding the camels was a fun experience, and the camels were well looked after. When we stopped to watch the sunset, we were offered tea made on the fire by our guide. This was a very special experience.

We would highly recommend Desert Eyes for your travels in Wadi Rum. Thank you again Khaled.
