- Freedom463958139300 contributions"TIK" this off your checklist of things to do in Phuket. This market stop/cooking class was the perfect cap to our 3-day visit to Phuket. We were picked up and dropped off from the Patong jetty and rode in an aircon van to Phuket City. Tik met us at the market and gathered the produce for our class, explaining their uses as she shopped. A short ride away, we entered a bright, airy space with a table pre-set with all the tools needed for our class. Tik explained which ingredients would be used in the 3 dishes on the menu and we set to work peeling, slicing, dicing and piling up vegetables, roots and herbs. Our classroom was scented with delicious aromatics as we busied ourselves with the prep work. In the kitchen separated by glass doors, we cooked our individual dishes after watching Tik's step-by-step demonstration. Throughout the class, the room was filled with chatter and Tik's no-nonsense approach and infectious humor. We only fell silent when we brought our dishes back to the table to taste what we had prepared, our faces and spoons focused on the delicious food in front of us. Even my husband, a picky eater, was admittedly impressed by the whole experience. Few of us could finish our plates because the portions were so generous and most of us carried away leftovers. This experience was unforgettable and we're hoping we'll be able to replicate some of these dishes when we return home.Written 10 February 2025
- JeannePienaar0 contributionsFun day Island hoppingFund day trip, staff were lovely and very caring tending to everybody’s needs all with great sense of humour. The day was not too busy rushing from one island to the other. James Bond Island is crazy busy, a bit of a shame but we were fortunate to see it.Written 9 February 2025
- RITA_OPINION0 contributionsJust Anazing!Unforgettable Loy Krathong & Kayak Cave Experience with John Gray’s Sea Canoe! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Our experience with John Gray’s Sea Canoe was nothing short of magical from start to finish! The evening began with a peaceful kayak journey into stunning limestone caves, where we learned about the history and significance of Loy Krathong, Thailand’s beautiful festival of gratitude. Creating our own krathongs from natural materials was a special touch, making the experience feel even more authentic and meaningful. As we floated our candlelit offerings onto the water, thanking the river for the life it sustains and making a wish, the atmosphere was simply breathtaking. The guides were exceptional—knowledgeable, friendly, and deeply respectful of the environment. The two meals served on this boat were exceptional! If you’re looking for an authentic, eco-friendly, and unforgettable way to experience Thailand’s natural beauty and traditions, John Gray’s Sea Canoe is an absolute must! Highly recommend!Written 9 February 2025
- 189maruskag0 contributionsAmazing snorkellingWe had absolutely amazing snorkelling in two different locations, and saw a wonderful array of colourful fish and corals. But sadly a visit into the emerald cave was not possible due to the presence of small but stingy jellyfish, which can’t be helped. However we could maybe have been offered another snorkelling or swimming stop, but instead spent an extra long time on the island where we had lunch. However here the waters were very shallow and full of tourist boats, making an after lunch swim less than enjoyable. Also, whilst we certainly don’t expect a perfect grasp of the English language, I do think anyone working as a guide needs a good enough grasp to enable basic communication.Written 8 February 2025

- burly5810 contributionsFun Experience! The show is very cute! I was in Phuket with my granddaughter on a vacation. We were late in catching the transportation and needed to find our own way to show. We were escorted to our seats when we arrived-even though we were late. We were able to use the transportation to return to our hotel. Everyone was very accommodating.Written 7 February 2025
- jennipZ5622HK0 contributionsMisleading titleI give only 3 stars because the title of the tour is misleading. I thought we'll find dolphins or at least really try to find them instead of saying that dolphins are on "a holiday". But when we get to the briefing the guide says this trip is all about snorkeling, snorkeling, snorkeling. So we were really disappointed that we didn't see any dolphins that we went to see. So I wouldn't sell this excursion as "dolphin quest" cause that part was like slowly sailing next to Maiton island for 10 minutes. If the tour title would've been for the example "snorkeling excursion" I would've gave the 5 stars. Cause the guides and crew of the boat was excellent! And snorkeling places were beautiful!Written 6 February 2025
- chrystallenic20190 contributionsMust do experience!!One of the best activities I’ve done in Phuket!! We visited beautiful places and had a great captain and guide. Ken explained as everything in pure english!! The only misleading description in this activity is the “crystal clear waters”. The sea is not even close to clear I couldn’t swim there.Written 6 February 2025
- Columbine750 contributionsAverage speed boat tripPro's: a lot to see; beautiful islands. Make sure you pack your water shoes, a towel and extra cash. Our pick up and drop was as expected as our resort was far from the marina. I appreciated that they offered water bottles and soda while on the boat. Con's: it was a very rushed trip, the boat was too crowded, surprised by the over tourism in Phuket. If you have back problems, not sure I would recommend this, as it was very bumpy. Maya Bay is beautiful but not sure what our park fee covers, as the bathrooms were of poor quality, and you are literally elbow to elbow walking on the path to the beach. The drop off at Maya beach is a floating dock, and I unfortunately fell getting off the boat.. so be careful. The last island was nothing but a money grab, it cost to use the bathroom, can't access the beach chairs unless you purchase drinks, there are people following you everywhere trying to sell you something. I would have preferred skipping the last island and either spent more time at the other islands or came back earlier. If you want to see some of the amazing islands, I guess this is the price for admission :-)Written 6 February 2025
- asangas20170 contributions1-hour ATV and Big Buddha tourWe booked the 1-hour ATV and Big Buddha tour, and to be honest, the experience exceeded my expectations. Our two expert ATV guides personalized the tour to match our individual appetite for adventure, and we had a blast riding the 200cc machines. They felt safe for novice riders yet still packed a punch, handling tough terrain with ease. Since the Big Buddha was closed, we quickly took a few photos of the beautiful views before heading back to the ATVs for a longer ride, which went through terrain which was a bit more challenging and a heck of a lot fun. If you want to save time, consider skipping the transfer and arranging your own transportation. The shared transfers can be time-consuming, especially during heavy traffic, as they make multiple stops to pick up other participants from different locations.Written 6 February 2025

from the transfer to the ATV location, everything went really smoothly. quads were in great condition and our guide was superb in finding out our abilities with the routes and quads. he took really good care of us, on and off the ATV.
the main location where you arrive at first has drinks, food and toilets and all the safety equipment you'll be given.
definitely recommend the tour as a great bit of fun.

Fantastic adventure, got picked up from hotel (additional charge did apply as our hotel was so far out) but other than that it was exactly as described.
Our guide was fab, he established quite quickly the slowest and less experienced of the group and out her up front which left the rest of us to play around like kids at the back.
The giant Buddha was breathtaking and we were given as long as we liked before heading back on the ATV's to base camp, our guide showed us loads of sightseeing parts along the way, let us stop and take photos and even took a video for us.
Honestly had the best time and would highly recommend this for beginners, right through to experienced riders 5*

We chose the 2-hour option for our family of eight, ranging in age from 13 to 52. The tour guides truly made the experience unforgettable—they were skilled, attentive, and effortlessly adapted the tracks to suit all ages and skill levels. We also tried the giant swing, which offered breathtaking views. It was an incredible adventure, and we all had an amazing time. Highly recommend!

Although the atv riding was a lot of fun, I was extremely disappointed that we did not see the Big Buddha temple. I was not communicated that the temple was closed until after we were picked up and driven 45 minutes to the meeting area. We were then told that even though the temple was closed, that we would still get to see the outside. That never happened. Didn’t see it at all. The entire reason I booked this trip was to see the Big Buddha Temple. This tour company did not provide the tour I paid for, and did not communicate clearly nor did they follow through on what they said they would do. I feel I am owed at least a partial refund.

This experience is worth every penny! Our tour guide Arm made the experience so wonderful for my friend and I. He gave my friend his own sunglasses when she forgot hers, and was very patient and attentive with us throughout the whole experience. He also took great photos/videos of us that we will cherish forever.
The great service provided by Arm was a bonus to what is already a tour worth every dollar spent. You get to see the big Buddha, ATV through the jungle, swing over a cliff (if you choose) and receive water/wet towels when you have a break.
A MUST DO in Phuket.
Thank you Arm for your wonderful service!

So much fun! My boyfriend & I had a private guide who was awesome. It was very well organised & we had someone pick us up from our hotel on time. It was my first time driving an ATV & I found it very easy & enjoyable. We got 40 minutes at the Big Buddha which was enough time to have a look around, buy ice-cream & buy souvenirs. I would highly recommend!

Wow! What excellent value for money. We paid for the 2 hour trip to Big Buddah expecting the 2 hours to include the visit time but it was on top of. So we had a full 2 hours of ATV driving plus 30 mins free time at Big Buddah. Included hotel pick up & drop off & quick transfer to the back of big Buddah so not much walking at all. They provided wipes, water & had toilets & ice creams snacks available to purchase at the base camp. Booked via trip advisor app. We had a 4 year old with us that was able to sit on with Dad & she loved it. 2 of us have never driven an ATV before & picked it up quickly - had 2 guides (front and back) at all times so we're friendly, helpful & took pics and videos for us. They also provided cover ups for ladies free of charge so we didn't need to cover up during the ATV driving.

Great fun!
The bike tour was a brilliant day out.
After staying mostly on road to get up the mountain to the Buddha and viewpoints it was off road through jungle.
Not high speed really, but very technical and different than other quad experiences I've had

This 2 hour ATV experience was fun however there were aspects that seemed lacking. First off the ATV’s were loads of fun and the staff were very catering our tour guide took the courtesy to record some of our trip for us which we really appreciated. However, the 2 hour riding and big Buddha tour was interesting. We had a 1 minute induction on how to ride the ATV and we were off, the guide took us to various parts of the property and repeated certain sections which felt like was wasting our riding time. We were then taken to big Buddha which on the way we saw elephant rides which ethically we cannot support. Big Buddha was great but we were confused as to why the tour guide didn’t come with us. Other than this, Big Buddha and the riding itself was a great experience and the staff were very friendly.
