About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- BenceC340 contributionsAn unforgettable journey. From the beginning the correspondence with the company was fast and straightforward. Everything was as we agreed. Accomodations was sometimes rather luxurious, than mid-range. I really want to thank my guide, "Rasta Man", to show us as many animals as possible, and waiting with patience for our photoshooting. Not to mention the vast amount of interesting information he shared with us about animals, plants, and national parks in general. And last but not least I want to say thank you for chef James. He made sure we had plenty delicious lunch every day. I'm completely satisfied with the whole experience.Written 13 February 2025
- S2794WQenriquea0 contributions7 day Kilimanjaro - 10/10We were a group of 3 with Fred and Mike as guides + a cook and 9 porters. The trek is relatively easy until the summit day which is very challenging even if you are in very good shape due to altitude. All 3 of us summited and thanks to Mike‘s management of the pace we did it before the big crowds got to Uhuru peak which added a lot to the magical moment of the summit. Our guides adapted the pace perfectly to the group, kept checking on everyone and helped us in every possible way, always being very friendly and making the experience so much fun. The food provided was very good and the portions huge. The porters were very efficient and as we got to the camp everyday we only had to wait a few minutes to get into our already built tents with all out stuff still dry inside - which is not to be underrated during 6 rainy days. I would 100% recommend Suricata for this route to anyone interested!Written 12 February 2025
- S2794WQenriquea0 contributions10/10 Experience - thanks to our guide RockyWe did a 5 day safari visiting Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Lake Manyara and it was a 10/10. Our guide Rocky was bringing the best mood from early in the morning, would go above and beyond to get us to see all possible animals and was so knowledgable, we learnt a lot and had so so much fun. I would totally recommend to get Rocky as your guide if possible!Written 12 February 2025
- W6694VSsaraho0 contributionsUnreal experience!Everything about this trip was extraordinary, the views unreal, the lodges we stayed so nice and comfortable in the middle of the bush The safari it self saw big 5 the guide “Max” was so helpful and informative to us. Highly recommendWritten 12 February 2025
- chriswL3324FX0 contributionsIt was ok overall, but could be better.5D Safari Tour. The group and issues were a bit missy. One got missed for a proper briefing, one booked 2N Serengeti but wasnt considered in the schedule, last minute change of schedule to fit in two people who booked 4 Days. Than the Guide was a bit annoyed and overall weird vibes. 2 Nights of 4 are in a weird backyard. No nature feeling at all. Otherwise the tents and sleeping backs were good. Great food! Overall Good Safari. Still just ok-ish overall.Written 12 February 2025
- khalidaX7306BR0 contributionsGreat trip with the best in ArushaWe booked a 4 day trip including hot air balloon, massai village visit and everything went smooth and great First from the airport we got to our stay by Dennis who had a quick introduction about the trip and took us to the big gallery. Thanks to suricata and our driver Bariq (i think that's how you spell it) we had great time, and enjoyed the trip Bariq is a great driver with huge knowledge about nature, he is funny and talkative. He made the trip so much easier since he knows the area very well, we don't see too many safari jeeps due to our timing and the path that we follow. We were also fortunate enough to have a fun family from Spain, Peru, and Germany which made the experience more rich since we talked about our cultures and got to know eachother alot more Suricata is well committed to improve their trips and they sent Daniel to do a quick review about out trip when it finished, they ask what did you like and what are the things that you didn't like and how can they improve. Thank you Suricata for organizing such a great trip.Written 12 February 2025
- Y802JMemada0 contributionsBest experience of wild life!It was amazing experience with suricata company we really enjoyed the route we took. The accommodation was so nice and interesting experience especially with lion sounds at NGORONGORO and would recommend it to others. Moreover, the staff are all nice and friendly. Also, I would like to thank the driver bariq so much for his help and support along the trip!Written 12 February 2025
- mutasimf20250 contributionsAN U FORGETABLE SAFARI EXPERIENCE!!!The tour was absolutely amazing! Everything was well-organized and on time, exceeding all my expectations. Seeing animals in the wild was truly breathtaking! Experiencing nature up close was incredible—I felt completely immersed in it. And the balloon ride—for anyone going on a safari, DON’T MISS IT! It was an unforgettable experience that added a whole new perspective to the journey. Our driver, Bareq, played a huge role in making this trip special. He was incredibly knowledgeable, answering all our questions and knowing exactly when and where to stop for the best photos and videos—I took so many! On top of that, he was funny and made the journey even more enjoyable. The accommodation was excellent! From the warm welcome to the outstanding hospitality, everything was perfect. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. The food was also exceptional, and they were very attentive to any dietary restrictions. I also want to express my gratitude to Denis and Danial, who welcomed us before and after the trip. They explained everything clearly and ensured a smooth experience from start to finish. Lastly, a special mention to the wonderful family we travelled with—we truly enjoyed our time together! A huge thank you to the company for organizing such an incredible trip. I would absolutely do this again, and I highly recommend it to everyone—couples, friends, families, and even solo travellers.Written 12 February 2025
- C667YJemmaa0 contributionsAdventure of a lifetimeI had such an amazing time with Suricata Safaris! My sister and I did a 3-day camping experience at the Serengeti National Park and the Ngorogoro Crater. The views were breathtaking, the animals could clearly be observed from the vehicle, and I learned so many new things from our guide Godliest - who was so welcoming and knowledgeable. Godliest helped us find larger animals such as the cheetahs, lions and elephants while also pointing out the smaller wildlife such as the dung beetle and spurfowl. Our chef Dennis also did a great job making sure when we’re always fed with cozy breakfasts, travel lunches and multi-course dinners. Highly recommend this trip for anyone looking for an adventure of a lifetime!Written 11 February 2025
- elyssaa2470 contributionsOnce In a Lifetime Safari Experience! My sister and I had the best time on this Safari! Suricata Safari handled all the logistics from the airport so we didn’t have to worry. Our guide, Godliest, was excellent and knew exactly where the find the best animal sightings. And our Chef Dennis kept us well fed. I loved the camping experience as well, truly once in a lifetime. I would recommend this to anyone!Written 11 February 2025
- S2822ECmaxl0 contributionsAwesome safari experienceWith friends, we visited the main National Parks around Arusha during five days. First day was Tarangire, then two days in Serengeti, followed by Ngorongoro crater, and ending at lake Manyara. All inclusive. Pick-up from and to airport, nights in arusha before and after the trip, camping accomodations and meals in between. The food prepared by Tito and his team was awesome and varied. From breakfast to diner all was excellent, I now need to learn how to replicate at home. The camping accomodations were in outmost conditions, very clean for how remote this places where. Tents were spacious and all equipment provided (mattresses, duvet, and pillows), also the support team in charge of loading and installing everything were the kindest people ever, as well as very helpful. Our guide, Golden, gave his outmost to show us everything we could during our stay. He also answered all the questions we had about, the animals, the people, the languages, the geology, the history, and the culture of Tanzania. Game drives were an awesome experience and we saw almost all the animals that there was to see (damn cunning leopards that don't want to be seen). I'd recommend a thousand times going with Suricata and will go again with them if I have the opportunity.Written 11 February 2025
- Z5179ZLgiovannim0 contributionsBeautiful experiencePerfect organization, with a competent and pleasant guide ( Asante sana, Mr Golden) that lead us in all four national parks/conservation areas; campings were well provided and all the staff were kind and super efficient. Food were delicious (Asante sana, Chef Tito) and the jeep was comfortable, nothing to complain, recommended.Written 11 February 2025
- Aleksmomiji0 contributionsLate replies, comfortable car, nice food but not proper arrangements for solo travelers.Minus points: Considering their reply speed on e-mail/WhatsApp, it seems like Suricata Safari business is doing extremely great, so they don't need additional customers and customers' money. 😅 I sent them an enquiry and even after a few days they didn't reply. I resent reminder and had to wait for a few days for reply. Since my departure day was coming closer, I added WhatsApp but even there their reply was really slow and late. The same impression had another members of my group. I was really unsatisfied and angry on 4th day when we visited Manyara lake - they put me in other group which was rushed to Arusha at the same day. The guide picked me up at around 11:00 at camp site and dropped already at 14:00 - we just briefly browsed at Manyara lake area. While other Suricata groups left the camp at 9:30-10:00 and came back around the sunset. That was completely unfair and illogical which negatively impacted on the whole experience. Frankly speaking I might ask for compensation - I feedbacked to Danny, who apparently is local manager at Arusha, but he replied that he would transfer my feedback to the company. 😑 ------------------------- Good points: The car was really comfortable for sitting the whole day, our guide Elias is a really skilled driver but I wish he did more explanation about the things we saw around. The chef did a great job preparing different cuisines every day. Asante Sana!Written 10 February 2025
- L7839VJanat0 contributionsExperience for life!!I wouldn’t change a single thing about this amazing safari. Starting with the warm welcome at our arrival in Arusha by Mr. T, he gave us all the information we needed, very precise and with patience. Then we met Fredy, our guide, a beautiful person. He was an excellent driver, he knew exactly where to go and what we needed at all times through the parks but also how to find us and how to contact us no matter where we were, solve any doubts or issues along the way. He was very respectful and calm, he transmitted us safety at all times, and his knowledge about wildlife, about all species and their behavior, was absolutely outstanding. Beside him in the 4x4 we had our super chef Pius, verything he cooked was yummy! Always local dishes, proper hot meals and not boxes like other safari companies. The Lodges and Camping Sites were absolute fabulous, in memorable emplacements, and the employees always made us feel like we were at home. Finally we met Daniel at our hotel in Arusha, for the debrief, he received us with his Tanzanian smile, and still with tears in my eyes, we thanked them all for this amazing and unforgettable experience!! Thanks Tanzania, thanks Tanzanians and thanks Suricata Safaris for making this possible! Asante sana, hakuna matata!!!!!Written 10 February 2025

We just finished a 4-day group safari with Suricata Safaris. The tour included Tarangire National Park, 2 game drives in Serengeti, and Ngorongoro conservation area. We were excited for safari, but it exceeded our expectations!
We had both Rocky & Amir as our tour guides, and they were so welcoming and knowledgeable. Chef Luca prepared our delicious and hearty meals. We opted for mid-range accommodations, and the staff at these sites were all so kind and attentive. The tented lodges we stayed in were cushier than camping, but still provided a unique experience of sleeping close to the wildlife and under a full sky of stars.
Being end of August, it was relatively easy to see animals, even from the first few minutes we entered the parks. It was so cool seeing them in person, and closer than we could have imagined.
We were pleasantly surprised at every step by the care that the staff took to anticipate our needs. We thought we’d be “roughing it” for a few days, but it was much easier and more comfortable than we expected. The company provided food & water on the day trips, comfortable accommodation during safari, and even provided airport pickup/dropoff and hotel stays the nights before and after safari. It made it so much easier to commit to booking knowing that our local contacts were coordinating the trip end to end. Be mindful that the specific accommodation may change from what’s listed in your itinerary, but the team puts you in an equivalent lodging based on availability.
We had so much fun, and highly recommend doing a safari with this company!

We (3 adults and 1 child 10) had booked a 4-day safari through Suricata. Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongo. Everything was perfect. The accommodation, the food, the parks, the car and the guide. We had an unforgettable adventure, it was a great experience. We saw THE BIG FIVE.
The safari tour is very well organized. Everything worked out perfectly.
Our guide BRAYSON was the very best. He fulfilled all our wishes, for example setting off at 6:00 a.m. .....he was very considerate, helpful, respectful, friendly. He knew a lot about the parks and the animals. He knew exactly where the animals were. We saw a cheetah up close. He made a lot of effort to ensure that we saw all the animals up close.
Food preferences are taken into account. Breakfast and dinner are always served at the campsite, and a hot lunch in the parks. The chef Tito is a great cook, for breakfast there were always pancakes, eggs, sweets...
Lunch was always something vegetarian, something with meat, vegetables and a side dish and fruit. Dinner was the same as lunch, but of course different dishes. The food was very clean and delicious.
On the first day we were picked up from the airport, the next morning we left the hotel at 7:30 a.m. for Tarangire. On the third and fourth day we went to Serengeti and on the fifth day to Ngorongo. On the sixth day we were driven back to the airport from the hotel.
We will definitely do another safari tour and of course again with SURICATA.
Please note that children up to 15 years of age pay the reduced price for admission. Please note this when booking.

Even better than expected! Loved it!
5/5
We did the budget (camping) 4 day tour and absolutely loved it. We were very happy with our tour guide 'Melita'. He was very knowledgable and we loved his fun facts. He knows how to read the animals and explained that he will not approach animals if he deems them unsafe (e.g. if elephants are in Musth). We found the tents durable, very clean and good quality. The pillows and sleeping bags provided were clean and comfortable.
Food provided by the chef James was amazing and he catered to my partner who has a gluten intolerance! Made him separate pancakes, soups etc. Delish food.
On one of the days, because it's rainy season with a lot of mud, our car got stuck in the mud for a while. Let me tell you, it was a fun experience. It's all about your mindset and attitude! You can be grumpy or enjoy the adventure. We made the most of it and enjoyed sunset in the Serengeti, and got to see a crocodile, lions and a hippo when driving back to the campsite.
We managed to see the big 5 and we were so grateful for the whole experience!
HELPFUL TIPS: 1) Just politely tell your guide when you are all ready to move on from one animal 'stop' to another. It would be easy to feel bored and complacent, OR your group can agree to say when they're content to move on together and let the driver know.
2) Pack warm clothes for staying in Ngorongoro National Park. 3) If camping, rent/buy a headtorch for showers and hanging from the roof of your tent etc as there isn't always good lighting. 4) I can't stress this enough- it is 100% WORTH hiring/buying binoculars for each person or you will miss out. 4) Consider a battery pack for your phones as campsites power points are often used by others 5) Be forward with your guide and chef and advocate your needs or curiosities 6) If you opt to visit the Maasai Village (it is brilliant), be prepared to tip them separately or be asked to buy jewellery etc to support the women. 7) Be prepared to rough it when you're camping. Like anywhere in the world, campsite showers etc may have bugs. 8) Take snacks for your car rides. 9) Just do your best to have a good attitude. 10) The drives are long- take a book, headphones, crossword.
We had the time of our lives and may do this tour again, even. Take the plunge!

We chose Suricata Safaris after careful research among the various tour operators offering Safaris in Arusha. They immediately impressed us with their availability, flexibility and promptness in answering our questions.
During the Safari our driver/guide Lewis, driver/guide Mandela and cook Tito were super professional, always on time and always very organised. Above all, we noticed and appreciated the passion that all of them and all the staff transmit during the days.
We absolutely recommend relying on them!

We chose the 4-day mid-range group safari tour to Serengeti, Terengire and Ngorongoro with Suricata, and we couldn't have been more pleased with our decision. We worked with Glory to make our reservations and it was seamless, she answered all our questions diligently and helped us arrive at a decision quickly. Daniel was there in Arusha to receive us and provide a quick briefing (detailed daily briefings were provided by the guide each day).
Our guide was Damien, his expertise and professionalism were unparalleled. He was not only knowledgeable about the local wildlife and ecosystems but also passionate about conservation. He was a great spotter and his intimate understanding of animal behaviour led to incredible sightings like a pride of 11 lions trying to hunt buffaloes or early morning playfulness of the elephants, making each game drive an exhilarating experience.
The accommodations for mid-range package were mostly tented lodges. These were meticulously maintained and offered the perfect blend of comfort and immersion in the natural surroundings. We had breakfast and dinner at the lodges. Lunches were prepared by our group's chef Musa, which we mostly had at picnic areas inside the parks.
There were last minute changes to the itinerary and accommodations in Arusha and one of the lodges. The changes to the hotel in Arusha was communicated to us on the day of arrival to Arusha. Our only feedback to Suricata was to communicate any updates to the bookings as early as possible. Daniel received the feedback positively, expressing appreciation for the insights shared and demonstrating a willingness to incorporate suggestions for further improvement.
For this reason and everything else mentioned above, I'm very impressed with Suricata. I wholeheartedly recommend them for anyone seeking an unforgettable safari experience in Tanzania!

It is easy to see that Suricata Safaris pride themselves in providing an effortless service and experience for their clients, from Hilary organising our booking and Damien our superb safari guide and Saleem who prepared us the most delicious meals each day.
The team could not do enough for myself and my 75 year old mother. Nothing was too much trouble.
Damien worked tirelessly driving, playing tour guide, keeping us entertained, and most importantly keeping us all safe.
I must admit it was quite the anti-climax leaving safari and we didn’t want it to end.
I would not hesitate to pick Suricata Safaris and safari guide Damien, they will be the only safari company I will recommend to friends ans family.
Thx

Definitely, this safari exceeded my expectations.
All the people at Suricata were extremely kind and helpful since the beginning.
The pickup at Kilimanjaro Airport was on time and the driver was very friendly and started to explain me a lot of information about Tanzania in our road to Arusha. The staff at the hotel was already waiting for me and a person from Suricata arrived on time to give me the briefing about the safari.
During the safari the drivers were always kind and did care that all the group was happy, safe, and having a good time. Both Damian and Elias were friendly and respectful. They always did their best to explain us everything about the parks and the animal life.
I highly recommend going for the medium range safari instead of the budget option: the lodges are really nice, the tents are truly comfortable, and the staff at the lodges is also very kind and efficient. The truth is that paying that extra money is totally worth, you won’t regret it.
At the end of the safari a driver took me back to Kilimanjaro on time, as scheduled.
An unforgettable experience.
Thanks Suricata! Thank you Damian and Elias!

We just returned from an unforgettable 4-day safari with Suricata Safaris, and it exceeded all expectations! From the start, Johnny warmly welcomed us at the airport, setting the tone for an amazing trip.
Our guide and driver, Elias, was exceptional—his knowledge of the wildlife and landscapes was incredible, and he made sure we spotted the Big Five (and more!). His skillful driving and storytelling kept every moment exciting.
James, the camp cook, was a culinary genius! Every meal he prepared in the wilderness was fresh, delicious, and beyond what we expected. After long days exploring, his meals were a highlight.
Musa and Daniel ensured the trip began and ended seamlessly, providing a detailed briefing to kick things off and a thoughtful debrief to wrap it up. They even treated us to a brief but insightful tour of Arusha before our transfer to the airport. Their meticulous attention to detail made the entire experience smooth, stress-free, and thoroughly enjoyable from start to finish.
We can’t recommend Suricata Safaris enough. The whole team—Johnny, Elias, James, Musa, and Daniel—made this a truly once-in-a-lifetime adventure. Thank you for memories we’ll cherish forever!

The safari leading to Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro was by far the highlight of this African family trip. Choosing the highly rated Surikata Safari was an excellent choice.
The company managed the schedule in an organized and systematic manner and ensured that the safari was run smoothly with professional staff.
Our guide Freddy was calm, professional and trustworthy. It rained a lot and the roads were bad in some places, but I was reassured that I was always driving safely. Although I was in the car almost all day, the ride was good. We were able to see all of the Big Five by guiding the safari with expert knowledge about animals. Our chef, James, was friendly and prepared each meal with care and deliciousness. I don't think I'll forget the moment when I was waiting for dinner after taking a shower and being served warm popcorn inside the tent. The day after returning from safari, my two children said they wanted to see Fredy and James. We became attached after being together for 4 days. It was the most comfortable four days of my 40-day trip to Africa. For camping safaris, I would recommend a season without rain, but I would recommend Surikata safaris any time.

As a solo female traveler visiting Tanzania for the first time, this organization made my trip truly unforgettable. Everything was perfectly organized from start to finish. They are available 24/7 to guide you, providing all the information you need before booking and ensuring a seamless departure from Arusha. You can ask them anything, and they will make it happen.
Upon arriving at the hotel, I was briefed by my guide, Daniel, who was fantastic. He took care of everything during my stay and arranged my departure from Arusha. I went on a 4-day mid-range safari, and our guide, Lewis, was amazing. He was funny, kind, and went above and beyond to give us the best views of the animals. He shared so much information about the wildlife and the parks, making the experience even more special.
The food arrangements were excellent; every day we had freshly prepared meals by the cook, even for lunch. The entire team was incredibly welcoming and made the safari experience the best I could ever have imagined.
I 100% recommend this company for anyone looking to do a safari in Tanzania!

Hi there
Can you confirm if you fly into Kilimanjaro airport can you collect from there and drop off there.
Thank you
Written 14 December 2024
You can definitely fly in and out of Kilimanjaro International Airport. Suricata will work out your transfers to Arusha (takes approximately 40 minutes). We did this on a recent trip to climb Kilimanjaro followed by safari. You can fly direct from Amsterdam to KIA and there may be other direct flights from London as well.

Hello, I am planning to visit Arusha in September. I would like to go on a safari, but I would like to have more information about it. Is it including accommodation? If so, where will we be staying? And will we be picked up from Arusha and, for example, dropped off at the airport? Thank you!
Written 13 August 2024
Yes you will be picked up from your hotel in Arusha and you can choose to be dropped off at your hotel or airport depending on your flight timing and what time the tour ends. Accomodation depends on what is available at the location because some areas you are literally in the wild and will be sleeping in tents. If you are in a town or city area then it’s a lodge or hotel.

The hotel pick up is it at Dar Es Salaam or Arusha. How to get into Arusha from Dar Es Salaam.
Written 30 June 2024
The pick up is at Arusha. You can take a flight from Dar Es Salaam, takes about 1hr.

Yes, the staying is included in the safari but the type depends on the company you will book for. There are different types of accommodations like luxury camp or tents. You can ask for to the company, the budget you pay makes a huge difference.

No, inglese. Forse se in agenzia prova a richiedere una guida parlante italiano possono provare a procurargliela ma non saprei. Erano tutte persone locali quindi l’unico modo per parlare era l’inglese
