Ol Doinyo Lengai is such a beautiful and special mountain. We didn't have very nice and clear weather on the mountain, at the beginning there was even some rain and it was cloudy. But it was still very beautiful, a little mystical. We were with two guides on mountain: the Maasai guide Issaya and mountain guide Emanuel / PMA Adventure Safari, who also organized everything from Arusha to Arusha. Before climbing, we had a walk to Lake Natron, where pink flamingos gather. We also went on a fantastic canyon walk through the river canyon to beautiful waterfalls. Swimming in the waterfalls was wonderful and fun. We started the hike at midnight and reached the summit before sunrise. We were quite fast, so we had to wait about an hour and a half to go to the top. Reading the reports on the website, you would think that this climb is only for professional climbers. If you are fit, you will climb in 4 hours, spend an hour on the summit and descend in 2 hours. Be positive mentally, listen to your guides and you will have an unforgettable experience. I advise you to go there with a good car and an experienced driver, as the road can be rough. We can barely get through some parts, there were some floods on the road and without a good driver/car I don't know what it would be like. Our team were professional and responsive and helped plan every detail. The knowledgeable and friendly guides made sure the adventure was safe and enjoyable. Getting to the Tanzanite mines, is an Indiana Jones experience. The mines were an educational and one of my highlights of Tanzania. The guides were helpful and provided a great African homemade meal. My only glitch was the paperwork required to get entry, was inadequate, and we had to get additional entry documentation. If you like something different, and adventurous, I highly recommend this experience.

Goooooo!!!!!! We took this trip one month befors we travelled. 4 Friends. The organising team is just Reeally friendly! I loved the experience! Take some warm clothes for Ngoro ngoro, a power bank would be needed as well. Guide answered all my queries promptly (one of the reasons we chose Africa Outland over other Safari companies). Our guide is very experienced and made sure to see all that we were supposed to see, big 5, lots of very cute baby animals, the kill by Cheetah, mating lions and unforgettable sights of migrations and many more Big up, I’m coming again this summer 🤩
