Zuria from Safari Soles was a delight to work with. We ended up canceling our trip because someone from our group ended up with health issues. They refunded our trip, hassle free, which was greatly appreciated in our situation.

Excellent Safari experience, Excellent Safari company
We had a wonderful Tanzanian safari with Safari Soles! Magreth customized our travel experience which made for an excellent private tour with our guide, Isaack, who was wonderful! The hotels and lodges were great as was the food and service. Our guide was able to find the big five, as well as lots of other animals. We also visited several different tribal villages, the Hadza - the last of the hunter gatherers, and a second tool making tribe. It was fascinating to learn about their customs and to see how they are still living today. WE also visited a Maasai village and learned about their customs. All very interesting. We loved Serengti, South Serengeti, & Tarangire National Parks. The night safari at Lake Manyara was a well worth it! The lodge, Escarpment Luxury Lodge, was a great! We could have stayed an extra day in Serengeti. The lodge, Kubu Kubu had views to die for! We also loved staying at Lions Paw in Ngorongoro, and suggest two nights there as well as two days in the crater. We loved seeing the great wildebeest and zebra migration as well as the endangered black rhinoceros! The water buffalo, hippopotamus, lions, leopards and cheetah were also amazing as were the warthogs, baboons, giraffes and gazelles. Did I forget to mention the hyenas? Unbelievable! It was a life changing, amazing adventure. The people in Tanzania were very friendly and kind. We had really good experiences with them. Bring lots of $1 bills and other small denominations for tips. Yes, they accept USD. We also went to Zanzibar. It was not as interesting as we had imagined. Although Stone Town is a UNESCO World Heritage site, it was in poor condition and not very interesting with many tourist shops all selling the same things. We did, however, go on an excellent tour of an organic spice farm. We also visited Chumbe Island where we saw coconut crabs. We snorkeled there, but the reef was not in good condition due to over fishing. Nevertheless, the island is worth staying on for one night for ecotourists. It is carbon neutral. The huts on the island were nicely done. The huts reminded me of the tree house from the movie Swiss Family Robinson! It was rustic, but quite nice. The weather in Zanzibar is extremely hot. Therefore, if you do not like very hot and humid climates, I would just stay on the mainland. Next time, I want to visit South Tanzania to see the chimpanzees! Safari Soles is a small tour company that caters to a personal experience. It is competitively priced and certainly less expensive than some of the larger companies. I highly recommend them of you Tanzanian safari. I will travel with them again!

          Great private Tanzanian safari experience
Our Safari Soles experience in Tanzania and Zanzibar was simply amazing, extraordinarily well organized with superb local guides. We designed a two-week trip combining the great migration with 5 days on Zanzibar. Magreth helped us design our own private tour and was extremely helpful and generous getting our trip organized before arriving and very responsive to our needs and questions once we were on safari. Our trip was a total immersion into Tanzania from seeing all the major birds and mammals you want to see in Tanzania, getting a personal perspective on life in Tanzania in conversations with the super Safari Soles guides, staying at some fabulous hotels and getting to see and interact with traditional tribal people from Masai villagers to hunter gatherer bushmen. Our local guides were truly special. Izaak, who was our main safari guide was just fabulous. Warm, kind, and a skilled and knowledgeable naturalist, he was a highlight of our trip. We also had an outstanding guide, Alex while visiting the tribal villages who was not only extremely well versed in the cultures we visited, but fluent in English, Swahili, and the unique tribal languages of the people we visited. We were generally disappointed with Zanzibar. We stayed two nights at the Cumbie Island Nature Preserve. It was a well-run carbon neutral island retreat, but the coral reefs were in bad shape and on their way out, so I wouldn't recommend it for snorkeling or diving. We had hoped to see a healthy Zanzibar reef, so were very disappointed. If we redesigned our trip, we would have stayed a single night on Cumbie and skipped the depressing reefs. We had a very enjoyable trip to a spice farm on Zanzibar that we would highly recommend. We also found Stonetown rather disappointing. It was rundown and overrun by tourist shops with little history or culture to compensate for the tourist shop exposure. Overall, I would enthusiastically recommend Safari Soles for a Tanzanian private safari. It is a very well-run small company that emphasizes quality over quantity with attention to detail. The staff and guides are exceptional and will help you design a perfect trip for your needs, rather than just a generic Tanzanian Safari. My wife and I are experienced travelers and potentially hard to please professionals, I am a retired marine ecologist with decades of tropical experience and my wife is a lawyer with a keen eye for organization and detail. So, we are potentially tough customers, but can't say enough about the quality and people running Safari Soles tours. If we return to Tanzania we will rely again on their experience, knowledge, attention to detail and kindness. They a simply a great group.

          Go Safari with Safari Soles!
It's been an amazing trip for the family. Elderly parents and brother gathering for the Lunar New Year. Thank you to the amazing Safari Soles team - Innocent, Chief, Frankie, and our wonderful guide, Raymond, who showed us the amazing wonders of Tanzania! We got to see the beauty that Tanzania has to offer - the people, the animals, the culture, and food. Thank you!

          10/10
Definitely recommend Safari Soles and especially our guide Estomih! He was amazing and answered all our strange questions about the animals (hehe) so knowledgable and we had a total blast with him. He really did his best for us to see the big 5 and the ugly 5 which we did thanks to Estomih. We also really appreciated his patience at every stop so we could get good pictures. Furthermore the entire trip was very well planned, everything from pick-up at the hotel to flying to serengeti. And we had 3 days full of game drives and nice dinners and the beautiful hotels. 10/10 would definitely go again if I got the chance

          5* experience
We've just returned from a 4 day / 3 night safari with Safari Soles and it was perfect from start to finish. Initially we had reservations about booking with a company in Tanzania direct, particularly when payment was requested in USD and communication was via WhatsApp. We needn't have worried. Communication prior to our trip was excellent and this continued right through to the very end of our trip. Our guide, Isaac, was fantastic. He was extremely knowledgeable and nothing we asked for was too much trouble. He went the extra mile every day to ensure we saw as much wildlife as possible. We saw the big six close up and so much more. Would highly recommend Ngorongoro - its an experience not to be missed. We stayed at Serengeti sSafari Lodge, Sero Tented Camp and Serena Lodge. All the accommodation was excellent and food was tasty and plentiful throughout. All in all, we can't fault Safari Soles and if you have any worries about booking direct, don't. This really was the trip of a lifetime. A huge thank you to everyone who made our trip such an amazing experience.

          Trip of a Lifetime!
I sent enquiries to 3 tour operators who offered the package i wanted and had good ratings on safaribookings.com, Zuria at Safari Soles took the lead in replying and follow up and i was finalized with her before the other quotes came in as i was making a last minute booking and liked her honest and matter of fact approach with no hard selling! I customized our tour and extended it to 7 days, upgraded 4 of the 6 nights to luxury category with domestic airtickets both ways Ex- Zanzibar and included the optional Hot Air Baloon and Night Safari and all of the additions cost me about $2125/- extra per person which i feel was very reasonable! We had a good condition Landcruiser for the two of us and our tour guide and driver was Estomih, Estomih turned out a great companion and Safari Guide, he is a very likeable person who is very networked within the guide community hence if there was a good sighting happening anywhere in the park Estomih would be amongst the first people to hear of it and get us there to be amongst the earliest arrivals be it a pride of lions feeding or a Cheetah settling down in a large tree or a Rhino in the Ngorongoro, he is a cautious and does not take unnecessary risks while driving. We saw all of the Big 5 to our hearts content. On the accomodation The Serengeti Serena Lodge was great but fell short on the food and need to sort it out, Lake Ndutu Luxury tented accomodation and Lake Masek Tented Lodge were extraordinary on all counts especially the latter! Ang'ata Ngorogoro was great on account of location as was the food however the lack of running hot water was a problem, Suricata Boma does not give you a Safari vibe it is more of a good resort in an inhabitated area which could do with better airconditiong and water pressure. Our game viewing was incredible being the Migration season the herds we saw of Zebra and Wildebeast were huge and in the 10's of thousands, we had to search for Lions harder for Cheetah's and hardest for Leopords, Rhino's but we saw them all. What could have been done better, well we felt the ideal place to do the Ballon Safari was in the Ndutu area instead of Central Serengeti in February i.e Migration time which should have been suggested to us, the night safari was avoidable.

          Unforgettable Safari Experience
Our Safari was booked by my travel agent back home so I do not know if our package matches exactly what is described in terms of the lodging portion of our experience, but we did spend 4 days between 3 areas, 2 within serengeti and Ngorongoro crater. It was just my wife and I, accompanied by our guide. Safari Soles were very organized, on time for our pickup at the airport with great service from our friendly driver Chiff. We met our guide, Innocent, on the morning we were to set out on our trip. He was to spend every day with us as our experienced guide. Innocent was always forthcoming with information and seemed at ease answering all of our questions, he was always patient and would confirm with us if we wanted to move along before moving on to some other animal or view. He would always let us know what to expect during the coming days activities and was always ready to start on time every time. We had great luck during our safari, as we got to see every single one of the most sought after species, but it definitely made a huge difference in that we had a knowledgeable guide that knew where to go and maintains good communication with other guides who shared info on game locations. The 3 properties where we spent the night were to our complete liking. One was a tented camp in southern serengeti which was awesome. Comfortable and had everything needed, considering it was in the middle of the bush, it was top notch. The other two nights we spent in lodges, both surpassed our expectations. We did go in february and the temperature everywhere was very nice, probably not so during the dry season. Food was always good, both at the lodges/camp and the pick nick lunches we had while on the road. The only exception i´d make to that was the packed lunch on the last day which was not up to the standards of the rest of the meals we had every single other time. The vehicle itself had definitely seen a lot of adventures in its day, but that said it never failed us and was always comfortable.

          Perfect ,expérience
Hello, we are from Quebec, we have had a safari planned for several months with the company Safarisoles which had been highly recommended to us, Zuria from the agency in Africa took charge of our project the big 5 in the Serengeti and then relaxation in Zanzibar over two weeks. After several attempts and adjustments, this type of trip requires pressure and timing to give the go and its parts. one of our big requests is a French-speaking guide!!. 6 months later still in contact with Zuria, jumped on the plane and went to Tanzania. I recommend this team 100% for the quality of the service received by our agent, by our superb Franco safari guide Jonathan, courteous and patient, I am a private photographer!!! , he was always attentive to my special requests thank you Raffiki we already miss you Asante, all the people near and far for the hot air balloon, hotel transfers airports excursions, an all inclusive very well organized the most beautiful trip that we have thank you. real Experts!!!!!

Magical trip to Serengeti & Ngorongoro with local experts
My husband and I did a 4-day fly-in / fly-out safari from Zanzibar which included 2 nights in Serengeti and 1 night in Ngorongoro for our honeymoon. This was our first time in Africa and it was our first safari experience and we could not have asked for a better intro to both! Our guide, Estommy, was deeply knowledgeable and created an incredible experience for us. We so enjoyed spending time with him not only seeing and learning about the animals but also the culture and history of Tanzania. Really cannot say enough positive things about our trip and spending 4 days with Estommy! There are a lot of tour companies you can choose to work with for your safari experience. What we loved about safari soles in particular: - It is a small company locally owned unlike many of the other tour companies that have foreign ownership - The team was incredibly responsive and the logistics of our trip were flawlessly communicated and executed - We were able to craft our own trip and had an experienced guide to ourselves for the whole trip

          Far exceeded expectations
Tomorrow we will finish a seven day Safari, which has been absolutely amazing. Thanks to Renatus who was extremely helpful and quick to respond to any inquiries that we had. This trip would not have been so amazing without Freddie our extraordinary safari guide. Freddie was so knowledgable and so eager to please that we couldn’t have asked for a better Safari guide and we realize that the success of a trip really hinges on this person and how attentive they are to your needs. Freddie is the best! We can’t believe the amazing animals that we saw every day. There was a variety of hotel experiences that made the trip interesting. We also feel that we got good value for the price that we paid and we would highly recommend Safari Soles to any of our friends. Asante sana!

          Unforgettable trip
We went on this safari with Estomih. Wow. What a trip. Estomih was an extraordinary guide, the lodging was excellent, we saw more animals than we could have imagined, including all of the Big Five. We could hear lions roaring in the morning the first day! Would strongly recommend this company — ask for Estomih to be your guide!!!

          Phenomenal 4-day Tour with Estommy!
We did a 4-day fly-in / fly-out safari from Zanzibar which included 2 nights in Serengeti and 1 night in Ngorongoro. This was our first time in Africa and it was our first safari experience. Here are some notes on our experience… - Our guide, Estommy, was incredible!! He was the X-factor in our experience that took it to the next level. The depth of his knowledge was mind-blowing. His positivity and upbeat nature was so fun to have on our trip. Given the amount of time that you spend with your guide, it’s a big deal. And for us, Estommy made our trip so special. He went above and beyond to make sure that we had an excellent trip. It was a true pleasure to have him join us during dinners as well. I can’t say enough great things about Estommy!! - The length of the trip was perfect for us. Any longer probably would have been too grueling for us. But, it was enough to see the things we wanted to see and each day was important in doing so. I would highly recommend the Ngorongoro Crater. Not only was it rich with wildlife, but it was arguably the most beautiful view that I’ve ever had. My wife and I enjoyed it thoroughly - The communication and logistics were impressive. Renatus communicated early & proactively and was very responsive. The process of getting paperwork signed was seamless. Pick-ups and flights were arranged perfectly. Jessica gave us all of the information we needed leading up to the trip. And, Suleman and Estommy made sure that we got through security properly. Generally speaking, it can be unsettling to travel in a foreign country, but the full support of the team made us feel comfortable and aware of the game plan Our experience with Safari Soles Tours far exceeded our expectations! We are so glad we chose them!

We were picked up on time in a very clean and good car. The driver was also our guide (Jackson) and he went above and beyond our expectations. He was very knowledgable and patient with us. It was only myself and my husband and boy this was the best christmas gift i could have given him, he loved it all, which double made my day.
The waterfalls were breath taking, the coffee hosts had me dancing with joy watching them sing as they did their thing, the springs was fun (i only was it was hotter). Jackson did not rush us, he left us to explore within our time and fully experience everything. His english was perfect. He bought us passion fruit along the way..how sweet of him! If i could give it more stars than 5 i would. The above and beyond did include a surprise of a great red wine and a local fav beer for my hubby! I cannot say enough about this awesome company. Ps: Even the owner of the company was awesome, polite and helpful. We have done many safaris and experiences but i can honestly say this is one of my tops for the experience and the guiding company!! I FULLY RECOMMEND!! For sure i will be looking for more things they offer when i go back!

Had an amazing day yesterday. Big shoutout to guides Daniel and Justin who were very friendly and had a great sense of humour. Make sure to wear decent shoes because the hike to the waterfall is around 40 mins. They were very accommodating with pickup and I would recommend this for families, couples or solo travelers.

        Thank you!

This was an OUTSTANDING experience and is excellent value for the cost. The company is extremely organized, confirmed when they would be picking us up days in advance, and called our AirBnB host to make sure they knew how to find us ahead of time. Our guide, Joel, was the kindest and most helpful person we’ve met on our trip. He started by giving us an orientation of what the day would be like, and then gave us lots of interesting information throughout the day. He also does lots of things to make sure you’re having a great experience like stopping to point out animals, getting a chameleon for you to hold, etc. We had lost our baggage when we flew to Tanzania, and he even helped us find some basics that we needed for the rest of our trip. He went over and above to make sure we had a great time and was also just a genuinely kind person.
The experience itself is also a great, action packed day. The hike to the waterfall is active but not too strenuous, and the waterfall is beautiful. The coffee experience and lunch in the village are really special and extremely fun. You should book this!

We had an excellent time with an amazing guide, Andrew, because he was super friendly, informative about the culture plus environment and accommodating to all our needs; even going above and beyond taking care of our muddy shoes without us knowing, plus drinks upon picking us up and more. Now I say, don’t expect this level of accommodations because we didn’t and it just so happen we were blessed with exceeding expectations!

While navigating us through the hiking route, we learned about the many different plants and he took several photos plus videos without us even prompting a request. The coffee tour presented by Andrew and hosted by Justin was my first coffee tour experience because I don’t actually drink coffee, but it was so well curated from the songs they sang to us and engaging for us to prepare the coffee beans!

Great time at the hot springs…and I’ll save the rest for you to discover! Definitely a 5 star experience!

Kikuletwa Hotsprings was true paradise on Earth, I would highly recommend a visit! We had a lovely day with our private driver Geoffrey who was very friendly and accommodating. He also provided a great sound track to our journey as well as a tasty lunch! The hot springs were serene and not at all overcrowded - we could have stayed there all day! Bryson was great for organising the trip through and was very quick at replying to messages. Thank you for a great trip Safari Soles tours!

This tour is perfect for those who hike Kilimanjaro and want to explore Moshi. The guide is knowledgeable and has a great driving skill, especially in muddy road on the way to Materuni. Definitely recommend the tour.

The trip was amazing. Our guide Baltazary(papali) was great. He was very informative helpful and friendly, made our trip very enjoyable. He even managed to find out information about the train from arusha to Dar a Salam which was a mystery for us until then. This shows he was not just limited to the trip itinerary. Because Of us being with this tour operator (being guided by Papali) we got to know more about the Tanzanian history, about flag colors , about the culture ,flora and fauna around the place. The coffee tour was amazing, the spring was a bit crowded but we were told this was due to being weekend a lot of locals go there as well. So if you want a bit quieter, maybe avoid weekends.

Five starts for the guide and the service altogether. Highly recommend to use this tour operator who wants to do this trip.

A 35 min walk to the astonishing waterfall and Andrew the guide became master of photography. He was animated, knowledgeable and friendly. On the return walk was the coffee experience: from bean to cup village style. One reviewer said this was touristy: I guess they may not do all the singing and dancing when they want a coffee but, as a tourist visiting for an hour, I enjoyed the experience and the coffee. As this was a Sunday morning many of the village were at church so we drove to the hot springs for a simple lunch. Amazing to swim in the warm clear water surrounded by lush vegetation. Stayed as long as I wanted them returned to the hotel.
These three experience in one day made an excellent activity. Would certainly recommend.

Great experience! Pick up and drop off we’re seamless, driver Abouh was funny and very informational. He was very accommodating for my needs and helpful when I was struggling during the hike. The waterfall was beautiful, the hot springs were warm and fun. Would highly recommend!

Baltazary is an exceptional guide and driver and may be the best I’ve ever had. He guided my friend and I through Materuni Village and set us up with the waterfall hike, delicious lunch (including a special herbal remedy he asked to be made for me to soothe my sore throat) and a coffee tour. He then drove us to the Chemka hot springs and generously offered to take many pictures of us doing the activities, watch our items while we swam and never made us feel rushed. Above all, Baltazary really shined with his expert driving. He not only safely navigated us through the usual rough terrain of getting to Materuni Village and Chemka, but he also safely drove us during a heavy rain storm as we were heading back from Chemka. During the rain storm, a fallen tree had blocked the main path back home for us and many cars behind us. Baltazary was the only driver around who knew the alternative, albeit more rough, route. He kindly drove up to every car to let them know to follow us to the alternative route. There was even an especially deep pool of water from the rain on the alternative route which he safely navigated us through, even while other drivers did not feel confident enough to cross. Even then, he got out to assist other drivers the best he could. I am glad we trusted Baltazary because he went above and beyond to get us through a potentially disastrous situation, all while remaining calm and thinking of others. Highly recommend Baltazary for your guide and driving needs around Tanzania :) Asante sana Baltazary!
