- cinnamoontea0 contributionsEllaFirst and foremost we could change the date of our trip on a short notice which we were very thankful for. The day was closely planned for us to enjoy it as much as possible and our driver Chamika made sure everything worked smoothly.Written 21 January 2025
- 150peterm1500 contributionsFishing, wildlife and an experienced guideA really good mornings fishing, pick up from hotel on time 5.45am. We arrived at the beautiful illuminated Buddha and set off in the dark up river. The boat was well equipped and the skipper very knowledgeable, friendly and a great help. We managed to catch 5 trevally whilst taking in the lovely river. Kingfishers, giant bats, grey herons, eagles and a giant lizard swimming. Fantastic trip well worth the early morning startWritten 20 January 2025
- le-soff0 contributionsNice to go to both parks!Don’t miss out on seeing both parks!! And its actually teally nice to do both in one day, I can recomend this - we could sleep in the trasfer car and be fresh for the safaris. Yala is beautiful- just make sure to ask to go alone and not with other cars, and take off the main road excurtions. We saw many animals, but the leopards where sleeping the day we went. Bring: - warm sweather or little jacket for the morning. Its cold, even on a hot day. - bring a really good facask for the fumes from the cars, they run on diesel and you don’t wanna breath that in. - binoculars - sunscreen - hat (you can also buy cute safari hats on the udawale stop for 1500 rupees)Written 17 January 2025
- peterpD6635KV0 contributionsA good day out.Excellent day from start to finish. The restaurant we stopped at for lunch was very good with a good choice. Our guide for the safari was brilliant and we saw a large variety of animals with the group of elephants surrounding the jeep made the day. Wife did manage to catch the back end of a leopard as it disappeared into the bush.Written 17 January 2025
- Praveen D0 contributionsUnforgettable Spiritual Experience at the Sri Dalada MaligawaThe Sri Dalada Maligawa in Kandy is a mesmerizing blend of spirituality, history, and architecture. The serene ambiance of the temple complex coupled with the reverence of devotees creates an atmosphere of profound tranquility. The intricate carvings, vibrant murals, and ornate golden canopy surrounding the sacred tooth relic showcase the rich cultural heritage of Sri Lanka. Exploring the temple and witnessing the rituals performed by Buddhist monks offers a profound insight into the island’s religious traditions. A visit to Sri Dalada Maligawa is an unforgettable spiritual experience, leaving one with a deep sense of awe and reverence.Written 16 January 2025
- agatapC7144VU0 contributionsMixed feelings about it...It is definitely worth doing, and I would recommend it, but I would not do it again, you know sometimes you get to do stuff like that and feel like you could live them all over again, again and again, this time it wasn't that great. Maybe the fact we were quite unlucky with the weather? Cause it was spitting the whole day, maybe if it was hot and sunny it would be nicer. The drivers we got were AMAZING. Both, the car that picked us up from the hotel and then jeep guy - really nice, kind, professional, but easy going people. But apart from that, nothing really stood out for us. We managed to see some monkeys lots of birds, elephants (one was very close so that was cool to see him munching the grass away while we were passing by!), there was iguanas and deers and wild pigs and buffalos - all great! But then it came to the point where we were stood for 20 minutes in the line of cars (other jeeps) and we were moving, one by one, because apparently there was a leopard in the bush, and yea... I dont wanna sound like I'm ruining fun for everybody, but it didn't seem realistic, it's like it was staged, cause all these cars where there all of the sudden, drivers talking to each other in srilankan language, laughing, so.. If I was observing that from the distance I would think that somebody is making fool out of us (and 50 other people sitting in the other cars). Similar situation, on the way out from the park, the last stretch and little lake - a crocodile! Wow wow wow! But was it? I'm not making that up but it was still like a rock and did not seem real when we zoomed in. I dunno... And the last bit, probably the worst out of this all - lunch. Lunch was included, that's brilliant, but the options were very limited, I didn't fancy any of the options, so asked if I could do the buffet, I couldn't. So I have chosen "grilled fish and vegetables" my partner got tuna sandwich, he said chips it came with were good, sandwich itself edible. But mine? Fish overcooked as heck, no taste, veggies - random mix (1 bean, 1 okra, carrot looked like it has never been anywhere near water aka unwashed and hard, half of potato inedible cause undercooked, same piece of squash, and everything tasteless). If I knew I would opt out from lunch and make myself a sandwich at home or went elsewhere, cause I had maybe 3 bites from it all and couldn't force more, it was just really bad.Written 14 January 2025
- Ann-Sophie L0 contributionsWhen reality owercomes your wildest dreams!Super driver/guide! Had a two days trip, made after my wishes. The knowledge, and entusiasm from driver was fantastic! We were very lucky with our visit in Yala National Park, we got to see everything exept the bears……. Trip back home went along the southern coastline,a beautyful experiance.Written 14 January 2025
- Sarah M0 contributionsAmazingThe first part of our trip was the river Safari, our guide was awesome and so knowledge. He helped make this part of our day amazing. We saw monkeys , water monitors, crocodiles, kingfishers and loads of other types of native animals. We then continued with a visit to a jewellery museum. The next visit was a Buddhist temple, this was breathtaking and so interesting learning all about this super religion. The next part was a visit to the traditional mask museum which was interesting but some of the masks were quite scary. The next visit was the turtles conservation area where our guide told us about the five types of native species and how they help to maintain the current numbers. We then went for a delicious buffet lunch. The food was again awesome. We then visited the Tsunami museum which is still as heartbreaking today and it was 21 years ago, but to honour the lost and devastated survivors a must see. We stopped at Calle and visited the fort which was also fantastic to walk around. Our finally stop was the Stilt fishing which was brilliant . Overall this trip was worth every penny and great value for money. One last comment to our guide and driver Dinesh who was brilliantWritten 13 January 2025
- dianeoJ1123AB0 contributionsGreat day tripDriver was punctual and safely got us to each stop. He even took the time to make a few extra stops to allow us to experience a few extra things. The included lunch was also very enjoyable.Written 3 January 2025
- AWickramasingha0 contributionsBrilliant tour with knowledgeable guideHarinda was a brilliant tour guide - very knowledgeable and passionate about nature. We saw lots of different wildlife on the river and enjoyed a coconut drink courtesy of Harinda. Would recommendWritten 1 January 2025
- bandit2000 contributionsUdawalawe safari tripTrip was very well planned out by the Bentota Travel service team. The driver(ishan) who picked us up was on time to all destinations during the day long trip and very knowledgeable about the island. He drove us all day from destination to destination. The safari portion of the trip was good as well. We saw plenty of animals (birds, monkeys, crocs, buffalo, deer, elephants) and also plenty of other tourists. Very commercial park with a lot of human traffic. Buffet lunch was a true taste of Sri Lankan experience. Overall, thr trip was good, safari was not as "wild" as we hoped it would be. Trip was om Sunday, 29Dec.Written 30 December 2024
- 2023-20240 contributionsTrain Ride, Waterfall, Tea Plantation and LunchBoth myself and husband enjoyed this trip. Got picked up at 4am and returned around 4pm. The driver was experienced and you could see he wasn't nodding off like previous drivers we have had. He picked us both up on time and drove us to Ella, where we took a small tuk tuk ride to view Adams Peak. Stopping off at a waterfall on route where we were able to take a few photos. We then got on a train ride from Demdora to Huptula, which lasted about 1 1/2 hrs and stopped at nine arch bridges, again another photo shoot. The scenery and train ride was really lovely. After being collected at Huptula we went to the tea factory and saw the process of how tea leaves are plucked by both hand and machine. Then saw all the processes to make into tea and had a special tasting. Afterwards we travelled home through scenic Ella and had lunch. The lunch was nice and views stunning. A lovely day and would recommend this trip. It was a little more money than a lot of other trips but again just me and my husband in a toyota car with experienced driver. And you were not taken to other touristy places. Definitely recommend it!Written 30 December 2024
- pascal v0 contributionsReally value for money and outstanding serviceExcellent Service, even before starting the trip. Well informed about hotel, tour details timing etc. Very comfortable car and the great safari. Comfortable jeep and always concerned that we have the maximum enjoyment. Food was simple but very good. Hotel was quite basic but we booked last minute (1 day before) over Christmas day. The trip was really value for money and we did not need to worry about anything. Even Tuk Tuk's were arranged to take us to the bridge and to the starting point of little adams peak. Non- alcoholic drinks all included and the driver Raveen was outstanding. Normally we do not book full packages but this one was really worth while. Thank you and team for taking these memories back home.Written 28 December 2024

We only stayed in Sri Lanka for 8 days and wanted to spend more time in the coast and time in the beach . So we wanted to make maximum 2days trips with maximum experience. Wild safari was on of our key interests. We contacted Bentota Travel Mart after got recommended by one of friends who visited Sri Lanka early last year. We received a prompt reply to our request with few options with clear information. After few email conversations we selected Udawalawe & Galle 2days tour as there are lots of attractions and few activities in the same tour. Our driver Kapi was a super guy with very friendly service and also he knows all the nice spots and things. Fully paid package and we did not have to worry about anything . We stayed in very nice hotel and wild safari was amazing , saw heaps of elephants and many kind of birds. All in all , this was one if the best trips we had , highly thanks to Bentota Travel Mart for exceptional service and service of Kapi. Highly trustworthy and recommend if any one travel to Sri Lanka.
