About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- amichnov0 contributionsAlways in the pole position!it was absolutely extraordinary, fantastic!!! Shashi is our king of Safari!!! We saw almost everything what is possible to see and we have been always in the first row, the road crossing leopard, the elephant mother with a baby, the elephant family, the sleeping leopard… And not to forget the style of Shashi driving, once he has his next target. I guess it’s not everybody’s choice 😉, but we enjoyed this special entertainment supplement ! So completely exhausted, full of mud, with a huge amount of Great Pictures and memories We are very happy and lucky to have chosen you for this trip. Thank you very much!Written 11 October 2024
- dadjana19960 contributionsSigiriya Fort and Dambulla Rock temple tripHighly recommend trip to Sigiriya fort and Dambulla rock temple. We booked the trip from home via Bentota Travel Mart which included all entrance fees, guides and lunch. Ishan drove us safely to all the excursion and pointed out interesting things on the way. I would recommend to have a guide at Sigiriya fort as from just climbing up the fort by yourself you don't get the inside of the place. The guide was very knowledgeable and explained everything well. Just be aware there are lots of steps to climb. For the Dambulla rock temple we also had a guide so you could.understand the history behind the sculptures and various rooms. Highly recommend using Bentota Travel Mart for your excursions.Written 30 September 2024
- dadjana19960 contributionsGreat SafariHighly recommend trip for Udawalawe Safari. Everything is included in the price and we got picked up from our hotel with no issues. Lunch was included. We picked the afternoon Safari and were lucky to see lots of elephants close to the Safari jeep. They did not seem bothered by us watching us and gave us a lovely display of throwing mud over themselves. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and spotted the animals very easily. The water buffalo took a bath in the lake with quite a few alligators bathing in the sunshine. Overall a great Safari and highly recommend to book with Bentota Travel Mart which was an easy process and kept keeping us up to date throughout.Written 30 September 2024
- dadjana19960 contributionsBrilliant trip to EllaBrilliant tour even though it was an early start. Climbing up little Adam's peak before it got busy and too hot. Amazing views. Walking down the train tracks to the nine arch bridge and then taking the train to ride over it was a great experience. Overall the trip was very well planned and our driver kept looking after us making sure we got on and off the train safely with no issues. Lunch was also included Would highly recommend the trip and Bentota Travel Mart.Written 30 September 2024
- kimrW826YI0 contributionsWe loved it!What a great day! Our guide Harinda gave us a unique and wonderful experience! He was very friendly and courteous, knew a lot about the animals and plants and took great pictures! We were very lucky with him and saw big and small crocodiles, monkeys, frogs, shrimps, monitor lizards, kingfishers, flying dogs and small bats. We would recommend the tour in a heartbeat!Written 21 September 2024
- ShariWestSussex0 contributionsGreat fun; magical feeding the monkeys. We had a fantastic trip with Harinder; he is really invested in making the trip exciting. He is eagle eyed and pointed out things that we did not see. He was prepared and had brought mango and guava which he sliced and a family of black monkeys came down and took from our hands. That was magical. We also saw an adult crocodile and several baby ones, a monitor lizard( basking and swimming) , fruit bats and tiny little black bats, a sea eagle and other birds. We had a fresh pineapple and coconut drink prepared by Harinder too. His English is excellent and he knew a lot of interesting facts about the area. It was really good fun because he made it so.Written 12 September 2024
- Lovesummers0 contributionsYala from BeruwalaHad a great experience with BTM, contacted them via their web page, quick response and very helpful. Booked trip to Yala and from the booking to return to hotel everything was great. Clear details provided, name of driver , car details provided evening before, Driver to Yala was great, lunch was much better than expected, 3 courses with choices, i went for the Sri Lankan curry which was very good. Yala was amazing, our safari driver was very good and we were lucky enough to see a leopard, and the elephants having fun at the watering hole was a great experience. Would highly recommend.Written 9 September 2024
- Sburrow700 contributionsGreat day tripVery interesting and detailed tour. Our driver, Dinesh, was great. Really enjoyed the river safari. We were there early so were the only boat on the river. Our guide said it gets really busy. Only thing I didn’t like was when we asked if we wanted to hold a baby croc and a man appeared holding one, he wanted 500 slr. I prefer to see the animals in their habitat. The guide was fine when I said no. I was worried about visiting the turtle sanctuary but the guy seems to look after them really well and yes it would be nice if they were in bigger tanks but he does release them back into the wild. The temple was very interesting. The tsunami museum was thought provoking. We didn’t go to see the fishermen as it’s a really long day and it was hot!! Lunch was lovely. Take plenty of cash for ‘donations’Written 7 September 2024
- Sburrow700 contributionsGreat day in yalaGreat safari. Our guide was brilliant. Saw lots- elephants, buffalo, loads of crocs and birds. Really lucky to see a leopard. The park was quiet only 5 jeeps around when the leopard was spotted. Our driver was fantastic at getting us the best spot to see the animals. The whole day from start to finish was brilliant. From the driver , Dinesh, to the lunch/coffee stop. Well worth the long drive and early (4.30!) start. 🐆🐆🐘🐘Written 7 September 2024
- d_ejnz0 contributionsGreat tourOur tour to Kandy started at 5am at our hotel in Induruwa. On our way to Kandy we visited Milennial elephant foundation - $ 15 per person, we could watch and feed the elephants, it was nice. Then we went to Kendy Botanical garden, it was great, but we only had an hour here. There were monkeys everywhere that were used to people. Visiting the temple was an amazing experience, our guide was great. After that, we were at gen museum and some woodcarving, we didn't know it was on the itinerary and it was quite boring. In the same building was lunch and that was good bufet. Highlight of the tour after that was visit of tea garden and factory, lady there learned us a lot and we also bought a lot of tea for a great price. Our driver was really good and we felt safe with him the whole day.Written 30 August 2024
- shuod20200 contributionsFantastic and Seamless Safari Tour! Highly Recommend!I scheduled a half day (afternoon/evening) safari with Bentota Travel Mart in August 2024 and had a wonderful time! I was staying at a hotel in Tangalle, and Bentota was able to organize a private car to pick me up at my hotel and take me to lunch. The safari car then met me at the lunch restaurant and drove me to and through Yala National Park (home of the leopard). My safari guide was wonderful and had a great eye for spotting animals, even far in the distance or camouflaged - we were able to see peacocks, elephants, deer, crocodiles, monkeys, wild boar, lizards, various birds, and a leopard far in the distance. The safari was super fun - there's a system where all of the guides call each other to notify if there is a sighting of a leopard, and all of the jeeps rush to try and spot one. Although we didn't get to see a leopard up close (I've heard it is very much dependent on luck), I had a very fun time driving through the park and trying to predict where the leopard would be. It's worth noting that I am a solo female traveler and felt completely safe and taken care of during the tour. I wound up choosing this company over others because they covered the cost of lunch, the national park tickets, and private transfer to and from my hotel so I would not have to worry about anything! Many of the other companies I looked at did not cover ticket cost or did not offer private transfers, so definitely look into these details carefully. I would 100% recommend this company if you are looking for a seamless and fun safari experience in Sri Lanka.Written 25 August 2024
- 394sumanaa0 contributionsThe best safari experience!Right from the pickup to the drop off everything was arranged so well and was perfectly executed by the team. We were picked up on time from our Airbnb and taken directly to the safari. Our guide was super helpful and could spot birds, lizards, elephants, crocodiles from far off and he made best of efforts to ensure we saw all of them up close. After that we were taken to the most cutest thing to watch - elephant milk feeding time at their rehabilitation centre! We also walked around the elephant museum and learnt a lot about the animal. Finally we ended the trip with a perfect Sri Lankan style lunch. 100% recommend!!Written 18 August 2024
- danielpM4420HR0 contributionsBeautiful animalsAmazing experience! It's a long day but totally worth it! We saw tonnes of animals, elephants, crocodiles, monkeys, even a glimpse of a leopard! The Elephant Transit stop wasn't for us but that didn't damper the experience at all! If you wanna see lots of animals in the wild, this is the trip for you.Written 16 August 2024
- V684OKroberts0 contributionsGalle day tripThis was our third and final excursion in Sri Lanka and arguably our favourite. We loved learning about the history and culture of Sri Lanka. The guide at the tea plantation was so knowledgable. We enjoyed the tea tasting and purchased a few packs of tea as gifts for friends back home. Visiting Galle Fort provided us with an insight into the history of Sri Lanka. Also, seeing the stilt fisherman was a fun and enjoyable experience. Finally, our favourite part of the trip was visiting the turtle sanctuary, where we got to release baby turtles into the sea, which was a truly remarkable experience! Thanks again to Sam for all his hard work organising this trip for us.Written 15 August 2024
- V684OKroberts0 contributionsElla day tripThank you for such a lovely experience on the Ella day trip! We booked this as part of our honeymoon trip to Sri Lanka. It was an incredible day trip, which we are so glad we booked. A particular highlight was visiting Little Adam’s Peak. Despite the 30 minute hike, getting to the top was so worth it - the views were spectacular and breathtaking! Thanks again to Sam for organising this amazing experience for us. It was so well prepared, from start to end.Written 15 August 2024

This was one of the best tours I’ve ever been on! Our driver Ishan was an expert and super friendly and helpful. They even got me a cake for my birthday! Every experience from the safari to the train ride was excellent. The communication and coordination of the tour agency was perfect. I can’t wait to come back to Sri Lanka, thank you so much!
