We took this trip as a family of 4(two elderly parents above 60 years, and 2 adults in mid 30s). Selected the company based on TA reviews the previous night, and agreed payment terms as 50% advance in morning, and 50% payment on return. This was imp for us as we had heard plenty of stories about poorly executed trips. Also, we wanted veg lunch, and they said ok for that.
Driver picked us up from hotel in Ubud in morning and took us to Sanur harbour for speedboat. They have tied up with Semabu Hills fastboat for transit (many pvt companies do this, and all seemed similar). The boat is a large speedboat that can seat ~200 people, and takes 30-45 mins to cross the strait. On arrival at island, we had a driver waiting with our name on signboard and we did our trip with him. Driver acted as a guide and photographer too. He asked us if we had a preference on which places to do first and if we wanted to swap some places in itinerary. We didn’t take the options, but appreciated his asking. Driver came with us to each spot and walked with us throughout taking very good pics at our request (this involved climbing a tree once, and in one case, going down a long staircase to the beach). We were happy to tip him generously for his efforts in making our trip a success.
Lunch was at a restaurant that seemed quite busy (Nusa Penida isn’t too developed, so we weren’t expecting anything much), and had set lunch for tours (see menu screenshots). For veg, they had some options, but we took French fries and some drinks and paid for some of the stuff we bought outside set menu. At the end, took speedboat back (this involved wading through water higher than our knees as island doesn’t have a proper harbour for speedboats) and were dropped back by same driver as morning, Overall, very happy with our experience and would recommend the company and the drivers.

The entire day was hassle free from beginning to end. An incredible experience that we suggest to anyone interested in visiting Nusa Penida.
We had two adults and one teenager who all enjoyed every aspect of the day.
Our guide Ketut was amazing in every way possible. Very safe quality driver, comfortable van, he knew all the best locations, and was very friendly and helpful, even climbing a tree at one stage to get the best vantage point to capture a photo for us. Ketut also organised a lovely local and affordable restaurant for us for lunch which was delicious. We highly recommend that you book this day trip, and for increased enjoyment be sure to request Ketut as your guide. 5 stars!

We had a wonderful time with our driver Putu and the service was flexible with what we wanted to see - we adjusted the itinerary and price accordingly, and it was an affordable way to safely see the entire island. The views of the beaches and cliffs were breathtaking. Although we thoroughly enjoyed our time at Nusa Penida we were quite disappointed with the service provided. The tour description mentions that we would stop at 5 destinations Atuh Beach, Diamond Beach, Kelingking Beach, Angels Billabong and Pasih Uug Beach. It is not mentioned anywhere that the drive from each beach takes alot of time and it is physically impossible to visit all 5 beaches ( more than an hour drive from Toyapakeh harbour to Diamond Beach and then another hour from Diamond beach to Kelingking Beach) so a lot of time spent in the car. The drivers also never told us how long we had at each beach so we were confused as the when we should be headed back to the car etc. We only got to visit 2 out of the 5 destinations and this was very disappointing.
We were also very disappointed with how our drivers behaved towards the end of the trip. When we were at Kelingking Beach our driver informed us that we would not have enough time to go to Angels Billabong as we had to be back on time for the 4.30pm boat back, however, I showed him our ticket that said we had the choice of 4,30pm or 5pm boat. He then said he is scared that we would still miss the 5pm boat back and that he can bring us but he doesn't advise it as it is a 50-minute drive to the harbour. ( it was around 3pm at this stage ).We then decided as a group that we would head back to the harbour and relax at the beach there as we wanted to swim in the water. Once we arrived at the harbour the driver gave us our boarding passes and told us we had to go on the 4pm boat back as the 4.30pm and 5pm boats were overbooked. What would've happened if we decided to risk it and go to Angels Billabong and come back to the harbour for 5pm? Would we have been stuck on the island? We expected to be on the island till 5pm and to see at least 4 beaches ( I expected to maybe not be able to see all 5 because of a break for lunch etc but I didn't expect to only see 2 ) and instead, we saw 2 and weren't even able to stay at the harbour to enjoy the blue clear waters. The drivers failed to explain and seemed to just want to get rid of us as soon as possible. Although the views were spectacular it was an overall disappointing experience as the trip does not offer what it says it does.

This tour was worth every rupiah, Made was our tour guide and he expertly navigated us around the island. The tour was flexible and helpful in finding great photo ops right around the corner from where long queues of other tourists were waiting. We finished all our sightseeing early and he got us on an early departure back to Bali.

Went very recently in mid June. The trip was flawless. We met at Sanur harbor at 7 am and paid with cash for our tickets which I had arranged via whatsapp prior to going. Getting into the boat was an experience because there is no dock so you had to get wet at least up to your knees to get in.
Boat arrived on time and after retrieving our things, we met Yan Mus who was standing there with a sign with our name on it.
His English is great and he knew everything about the island as well as where to go at what time to avoid the rush and the tourists in the photos.
The Instagram pictures you want is what youll get when you go with Yan Mus.
Later in the day he asked when we wanted to eat lunch and he took us to a beautiful location where there food was the best we ever had in our entire trip to Bali. Sadly I do not remember the name of the restaurant but it was close to the Dinosaur rock beach (Kelingking beach).
Naturally as you might have read from other reviews, the driving does take some time because it is an undeveloped island, however we did not mind it too much as we were able to take some naps in the car seeing as we had to wake up at 5-6 am to get ready and get to the harbor by 7.
When booking from here, ask for Yan Mus as your driver.
I never ever leave reviews, however Yan Mus was such an amazing guide and asked personally if we would leave a review for him because it will help him get more jobs in order to provide for his wife and 2 kids.
Overall the experience was fantastic and 10/10 would go again with Yan Mus if it came to it. Book him for your next trip!

It was a good tour, well organised and our driver on Nusa Penida was a nice guy. He explained how much time it takes to get everywhere and how much time we could spend on every beach. We saw every stop, becasue we made the choice to allocate more time to beaches that were more important to us and less time to stops that didn't seem to take to much time. We expecially enjoyed Kelingking Beach and Diamond Beach and we recommend going down but it is best to wear proper shoes and definitely take your time hiking back up. I would not book the tour again though, because it still felt rushed and I would opt for the manta snorkeling tour or snorkeling + Nusa Penida West.

The tour guide/driver is very nice. We enjoyed the tour with truly beautiful scenery. One minus thing is that the uneven roads made us dizzy and tired. Although we went there on rainning season but luckily the tour day is completely sunny 😇 (I believe it’s important to you all, I actually didn’t face with rainning during my 3 day trip though the weather app predited 80-100% rainning all 3 days, so lucky me). With the west and east island tour, you won’t miss any famous checking points. If you choose snorkeling tour, you only can visit either east or west (I prefer visiting and taking photo rather than snorkeling). You can skip any places in the tour if you have other plan to fit the time, just tell the driver. Wish you have a wonderful experience as mine!

It was a great trip! We did change the route to switch Crystal Beach to the Angel's Billabong & Broken Beach but in the end we had time for both. Changing the itinerary will cost more because all these places have some entry fee which was 100,000 IDR (~7 USD) for these. Our driver Komang was great and helped with photos as well!
The crowd was not as bad but still a lot of people. Expect it to be HOT on the island (even hotter than Bali) and the roads are indeed bumpy and steep. The speedboat ride isn't comfy especially when you have to sit there in the heat waiting for them to leave. As many suggested before, wear shorts because you will be above knee-high water when you get into the boat. Before getting in the water, put your shoes in your bag because if you give it to the people on the boat, it will end up under 20 other pairs of shoes and it will be all wet and dirty by the time you get it back on the other side.
On the way back, you can pick between two boats and take either the one at 3pm or 5pm. We took the earlier one because did not climb down at any of the beaches (lots of stairs!) so you can easily do all these in 6ish hours, but you will need more if you want to go down to one of them (wouldn't do more than one due to the time limit)

We took the earlier one because did not climb down at any of the beaches (lots of stairs!) so you can easily do all these in 6ish hours, but you will need more if you want to go down to one of them (wouldn't do more than one due to the time limit)

After reading many reviews, I decided to book a 2 day 1 night trip to Nusa Penida with Surya Nusa Penida Tours.
Everything about dealing with this tour company exceeded my expectations from exchanging of emails, answering my questions, trip confirmation, pick up at my hotel and transfers, helping me with my luggage and my tour guide Dede who was amazing!
Unlike other tour guides, Dede accompanied me on every steep climb, helped me with my luggage and ensured I was saw everything safely. Navigating the roads on Nusa Penida can be quite dangerous and I was pleased that Dede was an excellent driver.
To sum up my experience with Surya Nusa Penida Tours - 100% trustworthy to deal with, value for money and the team will look after you to ensure you have an amazing time.

How do you get into and off the boat in Sanur and Nusa Penida
Do you have to enter the water and climb into the boat OR is the boat mored at a Jetty so you do not need to enter the water at Sanur or Nusa Penida
