Itinerary
- Agra, Uttar Pradesh, IndiaPlease arrange a taxi or let me know if you need me to arrange one for you (at an extra cost). Our meeting point will be a landmark in Agra from where we will drive together in your taxi to the river point and back (130KM return trip from Agra).
- 1You will need to organize a taxi for this tour and I will ride with you. It is 130Km roundtrip from Agra. Minimum number of bookings for the tour is 2, if you are just one traveler, please purchase two tickets. Most travelers visiting Agra go to the Taj Mahal and head back not knowing that there is so much more to do in and around this city than just that. On your next trip to Agra, consider going on a state government licensed and operated river safari on the Chambal River. The Chambal River Safari is no ordinary safari, you're going on a safari (motor boats with life jackets) on a river which was once the badlands full of bandits. The bandits are long gone leaving behind a pristine, wild and 'alive' river eco-system. During the safari you get to see gharials (critically endangered), Indian marsh crocodile, 7 species of turtles, rare and migratory birds, hyena, jackal, jungle cat and the Indian River Dolphin (if you're really lucky).
About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Jack L0 contributionsJim Jungle Retreat visitWe had an amazing time at Jim’s Jungle Retreat. The place itself is stunning - beautiful rooms with amazing service and nature on your doorstep. Narendran was an incredible guide for our safaris as well - we saw a jackal, elephants and even a tiger. We went in monsoon and it was still great. Will definitely be going againWritten 1 September 2024
- Velistanonpercaso0 contributions12 days Tour in LadhakKunal just organized greatly everything. He was proposing the itinerary but then also considered our needs and requests.. The level of services ( driver, guide, accomodation) was excellent . Many tour operators organize tours in Ladhak , but our feeling is that we were in the highest quality range. Thanks Kunal : unforgettable experience.Written 8 August 2024
- adamtV9201GW0 contributionsAmazing trip to KanhaWe had a great trip to Kanha organised by Kunal. He provided great, honest advice on when to go and on which zones to organise our safaris. It paid off: we had three incredible sightings in two days despite the early monsoon, which created an amazing atmosphere in the forest. He arranged for us to stay in a beautiful and friendly lodge close to the safari entrances. This was my fourth trip with Kunal and I'll definitely be returning to him for more safaris next season.Written 30 June 2024
- Global124514973270 contributionsWonderful TripWe had amazing trip to Panna and Bandhawgarh Tiger Reserve.Very well organised by Kunal. He has incredible knowledge of wildlife. We were lucky enough to see tigers in each and every safari , not only tigers we saw leopards ,many species of birds , elephant, bear , jackals lizards etc all possible because of his efforts and the best part was night safari first time I did .Written 18 June 2024
- larahG6389SX0 contributionsWe’ll be back to Ranthambore!A great trip to Ranthambore, brilliantly organised by Kunal. Fateh’s retreat was a fantastic base with a pool which we enjoyed and delicious food (both at the separate cafe and for breakfasts). While we didn’t see tigers, the safaris were really good, across various zones. This was a nice and easy weekend trip from Delhi so we’ll definitely be back for more!Written 13 May 2024
- dsupriya780 contributionsWildlife Adventure with luck on our sideThere was an extended holiday and the itinerary to Gir Sasar fell on my friends lap and we three moms with kids decided to say yes. To be very honest I was bit sceptical of safaris as I never had luck to see animals beyond deers. But ventured into adventure for a weekend break. The whole trip was well arranged including transportation from Airport to Anil FArm Resort which was again well thought out suggestion, given we needed 3 rooms. The three safaris though with some hiccup in first one proved to be exciting with kids enjoying the open jeep. The first safari proved lucky where we all were excited to see 16 lions. The stay at the resort was pleasant and comfortable with me learning quite a bit on Mango plantation and us enjoying the view of river from balcony. Overall though it was eventful it was a welcoming break and fun. So thanks for arranging this for us.Written 7 April 2024
- Roam081687448960 contributionsAmazing stay and safari at the Corbett National Park, Uttarakhand, IndiaI can only warmly recommend booking your stay with Kunal !! We had never been to India before - nor on a safari - so were quite nervous just by the thought of it although Vikings ! But for no reason- Kunal took good care of everything - from the pick up in New Delhi (in a nice air-conditioned car and good driver!) to hotel and safaris and he would check up on us every day to ensure everything was okay! And it was !!! Even more than OK - the resort was just awesome (Jim’s Jungle Retreat - colonial style - like in the movies💕- little piece of heaven- with fantastic food - full board). The guides and the drivers for the safaris (we ended up doing 3!!) were fantastic - so dedicated and taught us so much about wildlife and nature. Had never thought a safari could be relaxing too !! We came back to Europe with peace of mind. Thanks, Kunal - It was such an amazing experience 💕 Will definitely contact you next time in India !!!Written 5 April 2024
- Traveler638176477860 contributionsAwesome trip to Lucknow, Kishnanpur& DudhwaAnother wonderful trip with Kunal. The entire details from stay to safari was wonderfully planned and executed. Kunal acted as our tour guide and naturalist - he rattled out the bird's name so easily and explained about each of them. Thank you Kunal for another amazing trip.Written 4 April 2024
- banerjeePb0 contributionsHistory & Wildlife - a trip to rememberThis was our fourth trip with Kunal and like the others, it too was a great experience. All arrangements, including the 4 safaris, were well taken care of, we had nothing to worry about. Location of Tiger Lily Camp was fantastic, the rooms big, with all mod cons, the food simple yet tasty and wholesome. Keep it up, Kunal!Written 4 April 2024
- _W9761UP0 contributionsExcellent trip to Kaziranga National ParkIt has already become a good tradition for our family to go on tours organized by Travel With once or twice a year. In mid-February we went to Kaziranga National Park. We were very interested in Indian rhinoceroses. We were originally planning to go to Kaziranga last year, but we started thinking about it too late, and then we couldn’t find good places for accommodation. There are not many property offers in that area. This time we started planning our trip a few months in advance and asked Kunal at Travel With. He organized our holiday completely and very well. He found a hotel, booked four safaris, found a good naturalist guide, as well as transportation and a driver. As always - everything was organized perfectly - we did not encounter any problems. The hotel was excellent, very decent conditions. My wife is a very demanding client, but she was satisfied)). When everything is good, there is nothing special to write about. And of course the safaris were great. Especially in the morning. The rhinoceroses came very close, as did the wild elephants. There are a lot of beautiful birds, very exotic for us. This time we didn't manage to catch a tiger, but we weren't too worried, we've seen a lot of tigers on other safaris in previous times. Kaziranga also has impressive scenery - the vast width of the sacred Brahmaputra River. Thanks to Kunal and Travel With.Written 2 March 2024
- adamtV9201GW0 contributionsLeopards in JawaiKunal organised an incredible trip to Jawai to see leopards. This is the third trip Kunal has organised for me. His advice on where to stay was spot-on as always, and he arranged for the hotel to lend me a camera as well as sorting everything out when there was a mix-up with the safari guides. Thanks for a really memorable weekend.Written 1 March 2024
- Aaazzz580 contributionsGreat time in Rathambore National Park, RajastanWe have spent 2 nights in Rathambore National Park. It has been a great escape from Delhi that I strongly suggest. It is feasible on weekends so you can easily escape the pollution and the crowd. Kunal took care of the organization, many months before, which is needed because it easily get full booked on weekends. I really enjoyed the place he suggested to stay, a home stay in a beautiful location (Fateshretreat) , great place with very good service. Rooms were comfortable, breakfast excellent, view spectacular. . There is also a pool. Organization was perfect , the gipsy picked us up at the hotel on time for the safari . Hotel provided water and blankets as it was cold in the early morning We did 3 safaris in zone 10, 6,7. At the end we spotted a tiger but was a long search that makes it even more rewarding . But even without tiger we would have enjoyed the nature and many animals and birds. Nature is quite different from zone to zone. The guide was very committed not to end the safari without seeing the tiger. But even without tiger we would have enjoyed the nature and many animals and birds. Road to get there is very good from Delhi or Jaipur and also if you come other side from Udaipur .Written 20 February 2024

This was my first ever river safari ever. To be frank I did not know what to expect. Even the Internet does not have much information on the same. However, considering I love exploring the outdoors I decided to go ahead. When we reached for the river safari, the river was covered in a thick blanket. It was even hard to spot where the river was, but as the veil of fog lifted, the vast expanse of the Chambal was right in front of us. The Chambal river is truly one of most pristine and pollution free rivers in India. As you go on the river, on the safari, you are literally transported back in time. The area once home to dacoits gives you an idea why this was their preferred area of operation. Infact the ravines cut by the Chambal River add a certain amount of romanticism to entire ambience. The best thing about the river safari is however, the varied wildlife that you witness, that too from close quarters, that this ecosystem supports. The pearls of wisdom provided by Mr Kunal Jain only makes the experience all the more memorable. Truly this is one river safari, in India, not to be missed.

This tour was for sure a "once in a lifetime tour".
The Chambal river is an almost untouched ecosystem as it just opened up for tourism.
We went there late October with my parents (78-80 years) and kids (7-11) and were not disappointed. Getting into the boat was a bit challenging for my parents as both of them are not so mobile anymore but the team assisted us perfectly. The tour itself was easy peasy and we saw much more than we expected. The area was so full of wildlife, that we didn’t know where to look as the wildlife was all around us. Peacocks greeted us when we got off the car, once at the boat there was a little crocodile already.. One the boat tour we saw Gharials, Dolphins, jumping fish, all kind of turtles and birds and at the end an amazing sunset. Unbelievable, and truly a lifetime experience. Glad Kunal made good pictures so we will always remember this great day!
Thanks Kunal & Team

The "Agra Beyond the Taj trip" covering the Holipura Havelis, temples at Morena, Chambal river safari and lesser known aspects of Agra was wonderful. We saw lots of wildlife on the Chambal and it was fascinating to learn about the lesser known parts of Agra city and the surrounding region. Kunal is friendly, knowledgeable and hospitable which made the trip very enjoyable. Shantanu, who took us on a guided tour of the lesser known aspects of Agra, is a fountain of historical knowledge and enthusiasm.
We had enough time to visit the Taj during the day and night, as well as the "Baby Taj" ourselves which was wonderful. It would be nice if a couple of the traditionally popular Agra monuments can be added as they are always a treat to visit and explore more in-depth and learn more about their history, even if you have seen them before.

We had been waiting to do this safari for many years and finally we made it to the river. The stretch of water where most of the reptiles are visible is about 2 kms. It's amazing to see ghariyals and crocodiles in their natural habitat. Majestic animals just waiting to photographed. Rare turtles and migratory birds make this a must do safari. It's a must do without any doubt. The icing on the cake is doing the safari with my (now) friend kunal. He is passionate and knowledge able about the area and absolutely makes the safari that much more exciting and fun. We were lucky to have him with us. Would recommend to all travelers you must have a good and professional naturalist with you to do this safari. And Kunal fits the bill. Also whatever we can contribute to the conservation of this river eco system through awareness and word of mouth would go a long way to preserve this stretch of fragile eco system before we lose it forever. Keep up the good work Kunal and team.

I loved getting outside the busy cities and tourist attractions to see unique animals, vegetation, and landscapes. It was astonishingly quiet and peaceful on the river. We saw many crocodiles, turtles, a desert fox, a dolphin, and many different kinds of birds throughout the entire trip. Kunal was a great guide with a strong passion for wildlife and a keen eye. The provided binoculars were a great touch and allowed you to get see just how amazing the animals in their natural habitat are. Would highly recommend this tour for anyone who loves to immerse themselves in nature.

We got a chance to cruise around the Cursed Chambal River with none other than Kunal Jain from Travel With! It was a mesmerising experience and we were elated to find so many species of birds along with a few of the reptiles like the Gharials as well even on a Foggy Day with almost 0 chances of viewing. Thanks to Kunal and his third eye, we could see so much of life inside the Chambal. He was so informative and a perfect story teller! We listened and enjoyed the beautiful ride over his amazing and knowledgable tales. I truly recommend going on a safari with him. His knowledge is Par Excellence.

I was a bit sceptical about taking this safari but went along. Soon realised I was very glad I took the Safari. Kunal was very knowledgable and it was quite apparent this work was very close to his heart. He explained the details of the wild life we expected to see on our journey to the starting point of safari. The Safari was in the boat which was in prime condition and safe for the nine of us to go together. Saw many Ghariyals and crocodiles along with various types of turtles in their natural habitat. We also saw many type of birds and were given detailed information for each by our very keen and knowledgeable guide Kunal. The Safari time just flew away and we came back much wiser after a very enjoyable trip.
I would strongly recommend it for all.

My Family & I just returned from a fabulous Chambal River Safari experience with Naturalist Kunal Jain. What a refreshing little trip. Much needed R & R with the incredibly passionate Kunal about the river creatures and the area in general. Pleasant hour drive through lush mustard fields from central Agra to the serene Chambal with its breathtaking topography of ravines and fields. Throughout the drive, Kunal passionately gave us information on why he does what he does with keen sense of the connect to the history behind the river.
The river safari was definitely above our expectations and the abundant life in it and around it was a pleasant experience.
Thank You Kunal for a worthwhile trip and looking forward to more such across India.

My family & I have done many Jungle Safari in the past, though this was our first river safari and we were looking forward to it. It took about an hour and a half from Agra to reach the safari spot. The river was sparkling clean. Safari was upriver for an hour following the river bank on one side and followed the other while returning.
Amazing experience! Came across highly diverse and rich fauna... Gharial, Crocodile, Turtle, Dessert Fox, Owlet and Birds (Ruddy Shelducks, Bar Headed Geese, Indian Skimmer, Purple Heron). We were extremely lucky to have multiple sightings of 2 Indian River Dolphins.
Kunal@totravelwith was knowledgeable, patient and ensured that we thoroughly enjoy the unspolit nature. Worth spending a day more in Agra just for this safari. Highly recommended.

My wife, daughter (13) and I had a wonderful excursion on the Chambal River Safari with Kunal this past weekend. It was a fun and educational diversion from the typical sightseeing in Agra. Kunal is an excellent guide and shared some really interesting facts and stories about the river, wildlife and region as a whole. We were able to spot (and photograph) some unusual species. In addition to his work as a guide, Kunal takes excellent photos as well, so you can sit back and enjoy if you prefer! He also helped arrange for our transport from Delhi and our excellent guide to the Taj Mahal and other sites in Agra. Overall a great experience, and we look forward to touring with him and his company soon.

Sorry, it may be too late for an answer. I rarely come here. A large boat is used for safari. I think 7 people can enter. There were 5 of us plus guide and ĐĽotorist and there were still places left, but it's better to ask the guide.
