About the operator
- 168drishtig00Harassing and horrendous booking experienceDreadful experience with the tour operator- Yo Tours (Mr. Puneet). Firstly, our cab arrived an hour late. We were promised a private SUV which turned out to be a normal OLA sedan cab. Thirdly, there was no guide in the cab which was included in our package of ₹6000. Next, the guide made us wait at random point on the road and we finally reached our first point of sightseeing at City Palace where the guide asked us to buy a ticket for him too(not mentioned previously while booking). At this point, we checked with him if he’s a registered Udaipur Tourism guide, to which he affirmed- yes! But later on when questioned by the authorities, it was proved that he was fooling us. When confronted, we asked for a full refund on the ticket price, after arguing and continuous calls to the tour operator and guide, we just received half payment and are still waiting for the rest of the refund. Harassing experience for us. Beware of this scam!

- UdayKiranS00Disappointing experienceMy wife and I headed to Udaipur for an extended weekend getaway couple of weeks ago. The rich history of this place certainly deserves a guided tour, and based on positive reviews on Tripadvisor, we booked a private guided city tour with storytelling about the history of this place with Yo Tours. But what we got was completely disappointing- graduation student interns, with little or no knowledge about directions to places- let alone the history- were deployed by the operations team as "storytellers". I wouldn't want to nag and nitpick here, but it suffices to say that the entire "experience" that was promised and much anticipated was ruined. We wouldn't blame the "guide" (aka student intern) as he did his best to keep up the spirit by "google searching" on the fly as we went from place to place to give us tidbits of information. We've had numerous guided tours in the past within India and Europe, and never faced such as a bad experience. In retrospect, we are fairly confident that the so called "Free Walking Tours" would have been much more engaging than this private guided storytelling tour with a premium pricing that we had booked. Although the Operations lead followed-up with us and apologized for our bad experience, it still remains a rue for us Advice to future patrons of their services: It is quite possible that we are among the unlucky few to be dealt with a bad deal. Nevertheless, please ensure you insist upon good quality story-tellers to be deployed by the operations team.
- clairewallin00Tour guide recommendations made our trip!Last week we did the the Yo Tour walking tour of Udaipur. We had the pleasure of having Harry as our tour guide. He was knowledgeable about the city, full of energy and enthusiasm and to top it off gave us great recommendations of things to do and places to eat! All of his suggestions were wonderful! I would thoroughly recommend doing the tour as soon as you arrive into the city.
- kezzagirl201500Cost effective tourThis is a nice way to orientate yourself to this amazing city. Our tour guide, Jaydeep, was on his first tour and really wanted to please! Find out more about the history of the city and the tucked away places in the laneways. Good value for money and fun.
- Hannah M00Helpful guideWe took a walking tour with Harry during our stay in Udaipur. Harry was very helpful, in particular answering our practical questions, such as where to find sunscreen (he even took us to a store where we could buy some!). The tour itself, however, lacked originality and a good sense of storytelling. We were a little disappointed that we didn't learn much more than we had already learnt from reading our guidebook in advance. It is also worth noting that a walking tour is not the most pleasant when there are no sidewalks and the streets are filled with cars and tuktuks sounding their horns - had we not been the only people on the tour, we would certainly have struggled to hear anything.

We received a message from the Yo Tour company tour guide Gaurav that this walk only will happen at 6.15 pm though we had booked for the 1 pm slot. We called up the contact number of Yo tours requesting for 5 pm. We asked them for a postponement to 18 th Nov and they refused. We then tried negotiating for a rescheduling for 5 pm to be which the company person agreed.
We reached meeting place mentioned on the booking at 4.45 pm and waited till 5.45 pm. Several calls were made to the guide Gaurav and the company but they were not attended. A person ( not in the company T shirt) approached us and we finally started our walk at 6 pm. We were just two people- myself and my partner.
Having done similar walks abroad and then in India,we were not prepared for such a bad experience.
We were in for a unprofessional experience. Mr Gaurav made us stop at 4 street food places and provided almost negligible information on the origin of the food, it’s history and evolution. It was a stroll across one lane in the old city of Udaipur and he only told us about the old market and a bit of history about the clock tower, which was not of much relevance to the street food tour.
We had to ask him for information about the foods and he appeared quite clueless.
The tour was ended on our request at 7 pm as we had made plans based on our prior communication with the company.
It is a tour best avoided. As the booking was done through a third party website, we were not sure as to how to request for a refund.
We woutd strongly recommend that Trip Advisor coordinates and updates the timings of the tours locally and verifies the false information provided by the Yo Tour company.

Wish there was ZERO rating. Aimlessly walk the streets of old Udaipur city and there is no conversation on anything about street food. One reaches a stall and given the stuff to eat. The write up mentions kachori, ghevar etc but there is nothing of that sort to taste. We were taken to a BHEL, aloo chat place which we had. A Pani Puri street place that we refused as it did not look good, a mithai shop which had flies on the sweets. The final destination was an ice-cream joint which was nice.
If there is nothing to offer please remove this walk. The 2 hour walk ended in less than 90 minutes as there was nothing to offer. Wasted a precious evening.
