Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- lizrW7166DA0 contributionsGreat servicePacific Art is situated next to the entrance of the Leela Palace, the artwork is beautiful. We purchased two intricate miniatures and they were framed and delivered to our hotel as promised. High quality work, great service. Liz, Manchester.Written 20 March 2025
- andreanG3760SN0 contributions10/10 Couldn’t be better!I highly recommend a visit to Paradise Art. The brothers Nareesh and Jeeth are amazing artists —fourth generation of artists in the family! I was amazes by their work and how honest and welcoming they were. They proudly showed me how all the miniature paintings are made from natural materials. Nateesh also took the time to kindly show me other gems in Udaipur off the tourist area. Definitely worth it 👌 PS. Do try their delicious home made chai!Written 1 March 2025

- MaryB71870 contributionsExcellent ExperienceWe visited Pacific Art after a friendly conversation with Naresh at Ambrai Ghat. We not only saw the beautiful miniatures but had a good explanation of the different pigments, precious metals and their preparation. A work was in process and 2 women were also enjoying a miniature painting class. Naresh described the different quality of the paintings and the meaning of the characters and context of the pictures. A really interesting visit and we were delighted to support this traditional industry and take home some beautiful miniatures. Many thanks to Naresh and Pacific artists 🙏Written 19 February 2025
- katekY7517VJ0 contributionsA warm welcome from master artistsNaresh and Jitu are incredibly skilled master artists - the fourth generation of miniature painters in their family - and also the friendliest and most hospitable people you will meet anywhere. Their shop is tucked away from the hassle of the market, just round the corner from Ambrai ghat; you'll find artists at work, and can look at their paintings and learn about the artistic heritage of Udaipur. And if you're interested in buying something, this is the place to come - the quality is the highest, and prices are excellent. Most of all, they have the kindest hearts and will make you feel so welcome. Meeting them is my most treasured experience from Udaipur.Written 2 February 2025
- V9797MFisabellec0 contributionsBrilliant business which also supports the local communityThis is a brilliant business with really friendly and helpful artist brothers (who speak good English) who are amazingly good at what they do. They are such nice people who have developed their shop selling miniature paintings into a school of sorts where you can go and have tuition in the art of painting the miniatures as well as browsing their extensive stock and buying items which have been made by them or by the local artisans they help to support. They even frame your pictures (overnight in our case) at a really good price. Udaipur was our second stop of our three week visit to India and I had a huge bag of framed pictures to carry round with me, but it was worth it. Go and see what they offer and I can guarantee you won't be disappointed.Written 16 December 2024
- Daydream100884920770 contributionsAnazing artVery friendly people and incredible artworks! Definately worth a visit altough it is a bit out of the touristic centre. Narish also explained a lot about the art and how it is made. Also Jeetu and Gourav were working and giving classes in the arts making it more authentic.Written 26 November 2024
- jeoffb4330 contributionsA truly unforgettable experience that you cannot miss if you are in UdaipurNaresh and Jitentra are incredibly friendly and genuine people with immense passion and deep knowledge of their craft. We were served delicious masala chai while being taken through the gallery’s collection of beautiful silk and resin pieces. It was so interesting to learn about the materials and techniques used to create them as well. A fantastic independent artists gallery which you must visit to see the intricate paintings and meet the fantastic people behind them.Written 22 November 2024
- D3585SGstephens0 contributionsCreativity and Inspiration for the AgesPacific Art Udaipur is our favorite art store in Rajasthan! Naresh and his brother Jeetu are both master 4th-generation artists in the Indian tradition, and their exacting skills can also be applied to modern subjects. Their store contains art from many superb artists and craftspeople from around the area, as well as works by traditional artists from generations gone by. Not only is their shop full and well organized, but they offer classes in traditional Indian painting - I was surprised at how well people learned to paint peacocks, for example! You can see how the pigments are meticulously ground and mixed, and they also have great masala chai! Their knowledge of Hindu and Indian history is superb. My partner was astounded at the draftsmanship as the painting was in progress outside the shop.Written 19 November 2024
- henrylf10 contributionsThe hidden gem of UdaipurWhat a fantastic gallery packed with the most wonderful s election of miniature art paintings on silk, resin, wood and more. A real treasure trove of super high quality art from a collective of local artists with no middlemen. Beautiful works, fair prices and run by a charming family who have long been talented artists themselves. My whole family was in awe of the paintings and we were delighted to have bought several items that will no doubt become valued family heirlooms in decades to come. Don’t miss a visit, this is a real gem and one the guides won’t take you to as they can’t earn commission.Written 30 October 2024
- Zachary P0 contributionsGreat family art galleryWe stumbled upon this art store right outside of our hotel! We went in and met Jeetu and he showed us all of his art work that him and his family had done! What a beautiful collection and straight forward pricing. They helped us with getting the piece we wanted and framed it overnight and packed it so we can travel with it back to the US! Would 100% recommend for anyone looking for art in Udaipur to check outWritten 28 October 2024
- 676alont0 contributionsBeautiful shop and painting by local artistsWe followed a worker from the shop that told us about the place. We were amazed at the art that they showcased. Everything was too notch. The showed us the painting process and we’re very polite along they way. We bought a beautiful piece for a really good price and we’re very pleased with our experience. Highly recommend store/museum.Written 23 October 2024

- Departure268992265240 contributionsWonderful miniature art journey in UdaipurThere is a highly recommended miniature art shop to visit in Udaipur, an interesting place filled with artistic creations. The store has many great works, and the owner is incredibly patient. Not only does he explain the process of making the artworks and the sources of the pigments, but he also describes the unique characteristics of each piece. There are many artworks in the shop, so it's a good idea to take your time, ask questions, and explore. Since each piece is priced differently, don't hesitate to discuss with the owner to find a price you're comfortable with—he's very friendly, so don't be shy about negotiating!

Set aside in a quiet bylane in the old city portion of Udaipur, sits this small but classy artist run shop that teaches students the ancient tradition of Rajasthani miniature paintings.
My wife and daughter paid a small fee of $25 each for a patient 2+ hours of instruction, and I can only begin to appreciate the time and effort that it takes to create a masterpiece in the craft. You get to take home your creation 🤩
Buy from here if you’re interested in getting yourself something special for yourself or a friend. They’re representing the artists or are the artists for the works in the shop themselves, so no commissions or price gouging.
Sincerely recommended!!

As a travel advisor, I’m always looking for the best experiences to share with my clients. I was approached by Naresh while watching the sunset and was interested in taking the class.
I took a friend and we enjoyed learning about the natural paints and how much skill is involved in this type of painting from Naresh’s brother, Jitu. It’s definitely the kind of class you want to take while traveling in India. The skills of the artists are apparent and it was very fun.
What I didn’t like is how pushy Naresh was about taking the class, buying additional art, making reviews, and generally his attempt to extract additional money from you. I understand that artists need to make money, but I believe that the art should speak for itself and shouldn’t need sob stories, putting down other talented artists, and forceful convincing in order to buy. People are more reluctant to buy when it’s being pushed down their throat.
At the end of the class, Naresh tried to tell me we would need to pay more because our class took longer than usual (2.5 hrs instead of 1.5 hrs) but I can’t see how that would have been our wrong-doing, so I’m glad he didn’t actually charge us for the extra time. When we didn’t want to buy additional art, you could see how visibly annoyed Naresh was. He didn’t give up easily.
So while I did enjoy the class itself very much and would casually recommend people to go, I’m not sure yet this is the establishment I would professionally recommend to my clients as I would never want to put them in an uncomfortable position.
TLDR; take the class, buy the art if you love it (you might!), but be sure to get the cost of the class upfront (or book online) and prepare for the hard-sell.

We are sorry that you felt that your were pressured. Unlike many other businesses we make a point of not employing "hard-sell" tactics, because we know that is not what visitors want. When you arrive in Udaipur, it is not easy to choose a miniature painting course from all the offers on offer. By choosing Pacific Art, you can be sure to meet real artists who warmly welcome you to their shop (and if they don't teach, they'll probably be painting).
Located away from the bustle of the city center, the workshop offers an ideal setting to find calm and concentration, essential to this practice. I took 5 lessons with Jeetu and would have liked to take more if time allowed! He is a talented artist who puts his know-how at the service of those wishing to discover an ancestral Indian art.
In their shop, they also sell works by artists from all over Rajasthan, carefully selected for their finesse and quality. The right redistribution of sales to artists’ families is an important detail, as it can make a difference if you want to acquire miniatures.
I highly recommend getting off the tourist trails of Udaipur to discover Pacific Art and, if you feel like it, take lessons with Jeetu, an artist as patient as rigorous!

We attended the painting class with Yeetu today. Attending a class is definitely recommended to try out miniature painting for yourself and to understand the precise, passionate and detailed work that goes into it. It takes a lot of practice! Yeetu, who runs the business with his brother, comes from a family of artists with currently 26 members. They have been painting for generations. We found the studio easy and it is about 2km from the City Palace. We walked a distance from the hotel (about 30 minutes), but you can also take a tuktuk and drive to Amrai Ghat, where you just have to turn the corner. The studio is small but cozy and we felt at home straight away. It is in a quiet, sunny place, a little away from the loud street noise, so we were able to concentrate well. Every single step was explained to us and we were able to practice the brush strokes before moving on to the original. You don't have to be an experienced painter, we were able to follow Yeetu easily. Yeetu and his brother work hard to cut out the middlemen and guides who demand high commissions when they bring tourists into the business. The two brothers can easily be contacted directly via the website and will respond promptly. We really enjoyed the class and learned a lot about the materials, brushes, history and painting. The painting is done with original minerals, pigments and original brushes! The atmosphere was very familiar and friendly and we also learned a lot about social life in India. The two also have an art collection with brilliant copies of the paintings from the palace and pictures of other styles, which they are very happy to show. We each painted a peacock and were very happy with the beautiful pictures that emerged. We also bought pictures, paints and brushes. You should allow 2 to 3 hours for the class and to look at the collection. For anyone interested in art, a visit to Yeetu and his brother is a must! Our visit and the painting class were wonderful, unique! Thank you very much!

Absolutely amazing experience. This little art shop is run by two brothers who are truly passionate about their work. They are some of the friendliest people I have encountered whilst I have been in India and they produce absolutely stunning artwork to match. There is no pressure at all to buy anything and would definitely recommend going just to learn about the artistic process.

We booked an art class at Pacific Art where we learnt about the traditional methods of miniature painting by Naresh and Jeetu. We enjoyed our session very much and came away with our own unique hand painted souvenirs and a painting that Jeetu had created. Two very lovely brothers who welcomed us and made us feel comfortable. Completely different experience to main market art traders who often pressure you into decisions! Highly recommend :) thank you Naresh and Jeetu!

I am an artist and an art teacher - living in India. I can attest that the two brothers who run this artists cooperative are the real deal. Their family has been creating miniatures in the traditional methods for generations. Do come to this shop to try the miniature techniques and create an original artwork. They also offer beautiful high quality miniature paintings for a very reasonable price.

We visited Pacific Art for a miniature painting session. It was an amazing experience. The owners, Jeetu Sir and Naresh Sir are 4th generation artists. Jeetu Sir patiently taught us the basics of the art and guided us through the whole session where we created our own miniature painting. There is also a lot of art work available for purchase. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend trying this out if you’re visiting Udaipur.

This little store tucked away only 100 meters from the Leela hotel offers authentic local art and classes from the actual artists. The two brother have generously offered their time to teach the various art forms through painting.
We had known about Pacific Art through a posting on youtube but only found them after three days. Best way is through google maps as our hotel took us to where they got commission. It’s better to see reviews than ask the hotels it’s all a scam while Pacific Art was authentic.
My son enjoyed his almost two hour class for only 25$. He was extremely patient and generous with his time.
I was able to buy gifts for a reasonable price.
Tip: if you go elsewhere and they say its camel bone for what the picture is painted on which is a lie and illegal it’s actually resin.
Please support this small family business which is right next to the gate of Leela hotel.
