Over the centuries, Mandore served as the capital of many Jodhpur kings, and even witnessed several invasions from different dynasties, including the Muslim rulers of Gujarat and Malwa. So, in order to protect Mandore further from invasions, the capital was shifted to the hilltop Mehrangarh Fort, as it offers better safety and protection to the royal kingdom. This ancient town was left in ruins following the abandonment. All that’s left today is the Mandore Gardens that have survived the wear and tear of time, and reminds visitors of the town’s glorious past. The Mandore Gardens houses ancient temples, memorials and high-rock terraces that are quite magnificent.

      Excellent First Day's Tour
A great way to spend a first afternoon in the city, and get a feel and context of its history and culture. Rishi Jodha is an excellent guide who speaks fluent English and is able to explain the nuances of his city well. The easy walk lasted over three hours and included ghanta ghar, the surrounding market, blue city, historical waterbodies, fort outskirts, and old community residences and shops with their historical architecture. Rishi gave very useful suggestions on local eateries and shops. Excellent and memorable introduction to Jodhpur.

      A unique experience in Jodhpur
Jodhpur heritage walk was a unique and enriching experience. Guide Mr.Prabhat Singh was very enthusiastic, courteous and knowledgable. At the end of the trip he took us to the terrace of an old city house, from where the view of Mehrangarh Fort was amazing. Of course, we paid extra for that experience. But it was worth it. He took us to the famous Namkeen and Sweet shops. Over all an excellent experience. I strongly recommend it.

A memorable heritage walk with Prabhat, an excellent guide
The Jodhpur heritage walk was highly enjoyable, and Mr. Prabhat made for an excellent guide. His way of explaining the different cultural and historical aspects of the old city ensured that it was a memorable experience, and the snacks and sweets en route, as well as the tea at a quaint blue house, only added to what was a great walk! Highly recommended.

Amazing time in the Blue City!
We had an amazing walking tour with our guide Prabhat. I was expecting only to walk around the 'Blue City' streets but surprised how in depth the tour was and how many attractions we visited along the way. Mr Prabhat was so knowledgeable and able to answer our many questions! We visited stepwells (he let us fetch water from a real well!), had authentic masala chai at a local woman's home, had delicious samosas, and made the climb up the city in time for the beautiful sunset. I definitely recommend this company when you are in Jodhpur and ask for Prabhat. You will not be disappointed =) Jon & Jenn - Toronto, Canada

      Perfect tour of Jodhpur Town
The guided tour by them was nicely done. We had asked for customised plan with photography + history + food of the city. The guide Tarun explained us everything and took us to some less crowded places. We also added Fort in our itinerary and Tarun guided us there as well. They even recommend you places which only locals know. Will recommend them if you want to have a true taste of the city.

Walking tour of jodhpur- a memorable experience
Thanks to jodhpur Heritage walk for organising such a nicely planned guided walk. Shoutout to our guide prabhat who enthralled us with stories of the fort town and it's history, the people, culture, traditions etc while showing us around the old city. He is really knowledgeable and his passion and love for the city is admirable. While standing at the fort gate and listening to him, It seemed as if we had travelled back in time and witnessing history turning it's pages. Some of the food joints he recommended were hidden gems and can't be looked up online easily and only a local will know. It was indeed a memorable walk and made one fall in love with the city. Thanks again to jodhpur Heritage walk for organising such off the beaten track tours . Surely, the best way to get to know a city is walking its lanes and bylanes, looking around and listening to a learned local.

      Highly Recommend Jodhpur Heritage Walk!!!
I highly recommend Jodhpur Heritage Walk. During my visit to Jodhpur around Diwali 2023, I received an amazing full day guided tour of the city and surrounding area. From the morning two-hour guided walking tour of much of the Old City to the visit to Mehrangarh Fort, the Jaswant Thada, and Umaid Bhawan Palace, Jodhpur Heritage Walk’s made the visit all the more memorable! My guide Brapat was both knowledgeable and personable throughout the day. He explained the history of the places we visited with the skill of a seasoned professional. My visit to the Blue City—and Jodhpur Heritage Walk’s role in facilitating it—has been one of the genuine highlights of my time in India. I cannot recommend this tour company enough!

      Rajasthan.. in a different light..
Me and my wife had a wonderful time in this heritage walk experience in Jodhpur. The guide was so knowledgeable and shared so much intricate details of the place and its history. He knows the history of the place as the back of his hand. This was such an enriching experience which I will remember for the rest of my life. I would highly recommend this experience for anyone who wants to enjoy the real flavour and grandeur of Jodhpur, Rajasthan. Narrow gullies, blue houses and a setting sun will always be etched in my heart.

      Guided City Walk of Jodhpur
I had reached out to Jodhpur Heritage Walks requesting a half day city tour. Response was prompt. My guide Mr. Prabhat was very informative and took a keen interest in sharing stories and anecdotes that only locals are aware of. He showed me some key vantage points offering sweeping views of the city and the fort. In fact, upon hearing of my interest regarding a certain view point (which was not part of the scheduled walk) he went out of his way to drop me and arranged for the guide/tickets for the same. Recommended for any one interested in the culture and heritage of Jodhpur.

Walking in Jodhpur with Jodhpur Heritage Walk
I spent 2 days with Jodhpur Heritage Walk. First day we went to the Fort and to the Blue City. I was very pleased to go there with the guide Umed. He told me so much about the history of the place, showed me the most interesting spots in the Fort (on my own I would not know what to pay attention to) and helped me to find my way in the streets of the blue city. As I am interested in photography, next day I asked Umed to bring me to the best spots to watch the sunrise and the sunset. He showed me places with no tourists with great views on the Fort. It was a great experience.

      Would recommend
My guide Prabhat was great. He really knew the city well as he'd lived in the old part his whole life. Very knowledgeable and friendly. He took me to some of his favourite street food places from his childhood. Most importantly, unlike most guides in Rajasthan, he did not try to take me shopping! Would recommend.

Not a “Photography” Tour Per Se
Walk was very informative provided by a guide who knew the history explicitly. However, since the walk was entitled. “Jodhpur Photography Tour”, I expected it to be the hidden photography gems of Jodhpur? It was more like a historical tour of the Fort. Interesting enough but again not what I expected. Maybe a suggestion for the tour that the name be more related to the title. Thank you. Otherwise, pleasant enough.
