I can’t say enough good things!
This tour was the best! We almost bailed because of the 630am start time and I am sooooo happy we didn’t because the tour and our guide Bhawani was the highlight of our trip! A truly once in a lifetime experience for such a fare price, it’s worth 3x as much! Bhawani is a history major getting his masters and had so many amazing stories to share. The food and rooftop where our favorite part. I singed up for trip advisor just to write this review that’s how great it was!

First class walking tours that are worth every rupee!
I could go on and on with a long list of reasons why I love this little company and its fantastic walking tours. My wife and I did both Laxmi's city walking tour and the food tour on two separate nights (both in small groups). Laxmi is so interesting, informative and knowledgeable that the hours just fly by. You'll meet so many characters along the way and you'll get 'under the skin' of Jodhpur like you never could if you spent your time here as just a tourist. You get to visit Laxmi's spacious, cosy home and enjoy tea and snacks on the roof with a fantastic view of the city. But there is ONE major reason we would love you to do these tours and get as much pleasure from them as we did. Laxmi is just one young Indian lady who has worked hard to get where she is and fought to overcome all the obstacles she has faced in what is a male-dominated profession. She has not come from a privileged background. Sheer determination has got her this far. Her story is a remarkable one and she deserves our support because people like Laxmi make the world a much brighter place!

Excellent Intro to Jodhpur and Nice memories created.
When we started the trip we have kept our expectations to bare minimum as most of the times such trips contains a lot of irrelevant information and very few hidden gems. Besides although I enjoy such nuggets of knowledge my wife and kids are more or less bored by it. However this time it delighted everyone. Laxmi took us along all 4 of us very well , disseminating information from Flora and Fauna to , all over ' exclusive parts' of Mehrangarh fort. We equally enjoyed trip to blue heritage section with a delightful ending with home cooked very tasty snacks and tea and beautiful sunset red sky over the fort from a 350 year Old house Deck. N an asset as my wife and daughters did freely chit chat with her. I want to Thanks Dimpy ( an upcoming guide ) and her Master chef Mom Too. A must Do in Jodhpur trip.

    Great introduction to Jodphur
We did the morning 6.30am walk with Bhawani and colleague (whose name we can’t remember -sorry) The walk through the park was gave us an insight into the plant life and rocks. It was really pretty coming out at the fort where Bhawani explained more about the fort and history of Jodphur. We were shown beautiful havelis which we would not find ourselves. Breakfast was lovely and we really enjoyed chatting to them both about their own lives and aspirations. All our questions were answered with enthusiasm and ideas and tips for other parts of Jodphur we were planning on visiting. Highly recommend this tour. Thanks.

    Fantastic tour!
We had a fantastic early morning walk through the blue city with Laxmi! The walk through the Rao Jodha park was a great, peaceful way to start the day. The views on the fort were wonderful. The subsequent walk through the blue city was also lovely and very informative, and we absolutely loved the breakfast. Overall, we highly recommend Laxmi as a guide. All the best, Ernst & Anoek

    Hidden and true Jodhpur
I highly recommand this tour, and highly recommand that you ask for Lakshmi in particular for a guide. Not only she is the only female guide in Jodhpur, but her knowledge of the city, temples, markets and so on is tremendous. She also is a specialist in botanics and local fauna, and knows history of every stone in Jodhpur. Really a tour you shouldn’t miss !

    Morning walk
We started morning walk at 6:30AM at Rao Jodha Vistor Center and from there we walked through the park and all the way down to little gully’s of Old blue city. My fiancé and I were lucky to have the guide to ourselves. The guide took his time explaining every questions we had about the city and it’s history. We highly recommend to ask for Bhawani when booking the trip, he had immense knowledge about the rich history. He’s a history student working towards getting his masters so if you have any questions about rest of Rajasthan, he will be able to answer them.

Original concept/Perfect combination of nature & culture!
We had a wonderful time visiting the Rao Jodha Park (Nature Park) with a spectacular view on the fort! Afterwards you get straight into the old city center, where you get to know more about the historical town, you also learn about contemporary hospitality at one of the lovely homes at the heart of town - learn how to cook a local dish and fill your tummies before going home! Guides are young, dynamic and super hospitable. They know A LOT about many different topics, really impressive. They also adjust to your capabilities, which we really appreciated in the case of our trip in which our dad couldnt walk the entire trip. 🙏🏻 Bravo to the team who came up with this original concept! 🙏🏻

Fantastic way to learn so much about a city in three hours
My wife and I enjoyed a three hour walk with Bhawani, who is a mine of information about Jodhpur, its plants, rocks and its history and culture. He weaved stories all along our walk and each stop came alive as we stood and re-lived how things would have been in the past. We managed to go along routes where we were all by ourselves which made the tour even more enjoyable. The detailed explanations about the buildings and its architecture led us to marvel at the planning ability of its architects. The explanations were to the point and the culture and history of each place were made vivid by Bhawani and his enthusiasm and deep knowledge. Stopped at a home for some tea and savouries while we enjoyed a great view of the Mehrangarh fort. The roof top location also gave us a sweeping view of the city as well as families preparing lights for prayers on the eve of the Festival of Lights. Bhawani also gave us excellent tips for things to see and do the next morning as well as helping s with arrangements to visit the Rao Jodha park to trek up a hill to take photographs of the fort with the cenotaphs in the foreground. This was an excellent walk and it was due to Bhawani’s strong and genuine interest in his subject and his great pride in his beautiful city. Easily a 5 out of 5!!

    Fantastic walk
A must do walk in Jodhpur. We did the the walk with Bhawani and Dimple. He was knowledgeable and was able to answer all of our questions. The pace of the walk is good, and covers both the natural part of the jodhpur in Rao Jodha park as well as the old city. The stories make the city come alive and I would recommend this walk to anyone coming to the city for the first time. We took a break at a home with a good view of the Mehrangarh fort and some tasty snacks and chai. This was a well spent 3hrs for sure.

    A must do activity
We went on this walk as a group of 2 adults and 2 young children. Laxmi and matsyagandha were our guides. They were super informative, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The trivia and stories covered a large expanse including flora rocks, history, mythology, cultural nuances and life in the city both past and present. It is great to see these young women pioneering in a filed dominated by men. We later were able to appreciate this even more in the context of the local culture which is not as supportive to women. Would strongly recommend going on this walk. Keep it up girls!!

Great guided walk by a knowledgeable and affable host
Bhawani was very knowledgeable, friendly and truly passionate about the history and nature of Jodhpur. The city needs more such enthusiasts to bring back public interest in history and culture.

    Bluecity walk in Jodhpur
It wasn't easy convincing the travel desk at our hotel that we wanted a guided walk through the blue city area of Jodhpur! But our perseverance paid off and we had a wonderful walk through the small lanes that give Jodhpur it's colour!

Our time with guide Laxmi, was memorable! The walk through Rao Jodha Park was so interesting and Laxmi’s knowledge base is impressive. She made the trek so interesting and the views were simply spectacular. The Blue City section of Jodhpur has such a varied history and Laxmi’s stories made it come alive in our minds. The dinner we prepared together in a heritage home was a perfect ending to a great day. Thank you Laxmi for sharing your love of your great city with us. I highly recommend Bluecity Walks!

We went on an early morning walking tour of Jodhpur with our guide Bhawani. Starting from the Rao Jodha Desert Rock Park where we got introduced to the geology of the region, the flora and fauna and also the construction of Jodhpur's landmark Mehrangarh fort, we then did a small hike leading to the water source for the village and the royal family. Following that we entered the old city - Brahmpuri (the actual blue city) and walked through the small alleys of blue. All through our walk Bhawani engaged us in fascinating facts and tales from the land. We were then hosted for breakfast at one of these blue houses which is about 350 years old. We enjoyed some amazing views of the "Blue city" from the rooftop of this house and delicious breakfast that was served was a cherry on the cake. Our "walk expert" Bhawani was indeed an expert and also a fun company. All in all we had a completely immersive experience and great memories for a lifetime. If I could recommend only one thing in Jodhpur I would recommend you to take this walk!!

The walk was phenomenally spectacular and awe-inspiring. It exceeded our high expectations. The experience was incredibly organic and immersive with stories, interesting facts, details, light-hearted conversations, and cultural heritage and history. We would absolutely be returning for the exact same walk and other walks and a Jodhpur city guided tour (if available... Though we have seen most sights already) with Bluecity Walks.

One may prefer to avoid places with a lot of walking, which is usually the case with grand forts and trails. However, we loved every second of this walk and wished for it to go on.

Bhawani Singh, our guide, was such wonderful company to have. It truly felt like we came to meet a friend in Jodhpur and he took us for a walk in his city to show us around. He has deep and composite knowledge and he is humble and a wonderful conversationalist. It is heartwarming to see a youngster so grounded in his roots.

The charm and magnifiscence of the rock walls and hills of the Roa Jodha Desert Rock Park and the interweaving lanes of the old city would have been lost on us if not for this delicacy from Bluecity Walks. The warm hospitality and generous view from the roof top of the host's home were a delight. Do not close the tour without a visit to Lord Krishna's temple and without pausing to savour some gulab jamuns :)

Thank you, Sharon and Govind, for the vision your team and you had when curating these walks. We are intoxicated... This walk will be a cherished memory not only from our Jodhpur travels, but from all our travels in life.

If you are in Jodhpur, then you must experience this!! Me and my husband booked the blue city walk’s heritage walk package in the evening and we were accompanied by the Lakshmi. The walk through the rock garden and then through the canal leading to a mesmerising view of the fort and the water bodies were just awesome. You would love the entire path through the backside of the fort which I would lead u into the old city and awesome view of the blue city. The walk shall end with the best view of the city and sunset along with home made masala chai and pakoras.
Experience of a lifetime ✌️

The walk was well curated by Sharon and Laxmi. Sharon did a great job in accommodating us in a very short span of time.
Laxmi was our guide, she took us through Roa Jodha Rock Garden explaining all details of flora and fauna along with the history of Park. Then she took us through water bodies of Fort and Finally the blue city tour. It ended with Snacks and Tea at a Brahmin's house.
Laxmi was excellent in detailing, patience in explaining and answering our queries.
I would highly recommend the walking tour and Laxmi as Guide.

An amazing walk - one of the few that starts at the Rao Jodha desert park and takes you through the park before landing in the middle of the chaotic, blue city. The breakfast at the local's house is a treat and the views from here capture Jodhpur in one frame.
The tour was conducted by Lakshmi, who was just amazing in her knowledge of local customs and history all brought together with a passion of conducting these off beat walks.

So glad I decided to see Jodhpur through the morning tour of BlueCity Walks. It is truly such a lovely, rare and authentic experiences to understand the culture and heritage of a city. It started with a private tour of the Rao Jodha Rock park; went onto the blue streets, and we even got a lovely home style breakfast in a resident home.

A completely non - touristy way of experiencing a gem of a city like Jodhpur.

Blue City makes you discover Jodhpur's hidden gems like no other. It takes you to off-the-beaten-track shops, homes and alleys — things other tours would overlook. One gets to meet local people, who have a deep passion for their food, history and culture. If you want to understand the culture, history and continuity of Jodhpur, Blue City walks is a must do.

We had a beautiful morning walk with Lakshimi!
She took us off the beaten path, and she guided through nature, history and architectural gems of Jodhpur with an enchanting way of speaking. We also loved that we could both talk about historical stuff as about lifestyle in india.
Do it! And if you can, do it with Lakshimi, girls power! :)

Italiano: bellissima passeggiata in posti dove non andreste mai senza una guida, se non l'avessimo fatta non avremmo apprezzato la città!

My most memorable experience - blue city walk. This was organised by Sharon and our guide for the day was Laxmi. This guided walk takes you through the desert park, outskirts of the fort and into the blue city houses. The history that you learn throughout is unimaginable and Laxmi did a fabulous job! Ends with tea/coffee and snacks at a local's house terrace - and the view from there was to die for!
Every minute of this 2 hour experience was worth it! Must try!!
