Beautiful experience 👌👌Must visit the local villages to know the real India
We travelled with ChotaRam Prajapat and learnt about the local arts and crafts pottery, indigo dyeing, Dabu prints, block printing, and specially interlock Durrie weaving. This was followed by dinner at their home in a very family environment. Food was cooked on the wood fired Chulha. It’s an amazing experience! Choraram ji discussed in detail how the local artisans are benefitted by the interest shown by travellers in their art. Durrie making is an art which is on the brink of dying and needs to be encouraged We bought (Dabu block printed) bed sheets and Durrie from local craftsmen Enjoyed the local Rajasthani food KairSangari, Rabodi and Bajri roti with lasun chutney under a starlit sky 👌👌👌 We also saw Neel Gai and flocks of Peacocks and peahens on our way

I went on the village safari with Ashok together with my two sisters, it was a really nice experience! Ashok is so kind and can tell you all about the local traditions and culture. We had an amazing time visiting different families and spotting wild animals in the nature around the village. Would really recommend!

          The best village safari
Ashok took us on a village safari whish was very nice. We went to see a family that made pottery of clay all by hand. It was really cool to see them do it and they sold some nice craft for a small price. Then we went to a family that showed us how they prepare opium and some other typical food of the region. All the while Ashok told us a lot about the cast system here and other stories of the region. We then went on a safari, ate desert berries from the trees, saw lots of wildlife and went to a natural water well. It was a lovely tour that then ended at a fabric recycling factory where they had the most beautiful scarfs table rugs, bed sheets etc.

          An authentic and unique experience!
A fantastic way to connect with the locals and discover their traditions, culture, knowledge-how in an authentic, respectful and fun way. My family absolutely loved every parts of it, from the Jeep Safari, ceremony, pottery experience, rug making and all the interactions in between. Ashok, our guide was very welcoming, warm and friendly. His entire family run the operation in such a beautiful and honest way. They have a Homestay you can stay at a few days and really get a sense of what it is to live in a village in India. I’ve traveled quite a bit in India and this was definitely a highlight! Definitely recommended!

          Experience village life in Jodhpur
Great tour, this is a must do activity in Jodhpur. Our guide Ashok was extremely knowledgeable about local customs. We went on a short safari and saw some peacocks and gazelles, but the real highlight was going to the village and seeing how people live there. He explained in detail about the caste system and the different roles the castes play in the area. We participated in an opium ceremony, yes you get to consume opium but it’s a very small quantity so you won’t feel much if anything. The pottery studio was also fascinating, and we got to see the potter throw on his giant manually powered wheel. Finally we went to Ashok’s family home where they also have a rug weaving business and traditional mud huts. We saw his parents meticulously weaving a huge rug on the loom. His wife made us delicious Rajasthani food, very simple but the best meal I had in Jodhpur. There are opportunities to buy pottery and rugs if you want, but they’re not pushy about it.

Fantastic journey! Absolute incredibly informative, some of the nicest food served by some beautiful women, and overall fantastic experience, got to see a lot of the local wildlife, and the fact that they maintain the business in the family made it feel even more real and exciting.

Amazing one of a kind tour!
Amazing tour guides and very beautiful views ! We saw all kinds of wildlife on our tour, tons of birds, gazelles, and even wild dogs. The guides were very friendly and did a great Job at showing us every detail. We even stopped to find wild berries to eat! Then we stopped at many little villages each with their own mastered profession! Also to finish it all off you get to experience an authentic home cooked meal which was incredibly delicious!

Truly authentic camel safari. If you can’t make it to Jaisalmer make this your desert experience
Highly recommend! Especially if you can’t make it to Jaisalmer. Chhotoram’s service and company were excellent. He has a relaxed manor and is engaging to chat with on your drive to the desert (about an hour from Johdpur). The camel safari was a once in a lifetime experience. The camels and the guide were fabulous. It is something we will never forget. We visited a small village which was welcoming and so beautiful. It felt like a once in a lifetime experience.

Lovely cultural experience in rural india
Chottaram was an excellent host and I really enjoyed the tour. It was a great way to experience rural India and learn about local crafts which each family has been doing for many years. I loved being able to prticipate in the crafts and interact with the people. Chottaram’s family was lovely and provided a delicious home-cooked meal. I definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Jodhpur!

          Awesome village with rural experience
I had and extremely pleasant experience with Ashok Prajapati who belong to the Weaver community in Jodhpur. I have enjoyed a lot. In future I love to have your services again. I was fortunate to have had the first hand experience with pot making in one of the village and also I saw many rare animals also I have seen one rare black antilope. Also had an amazing food experience at Ashoks place which was all home made freshly cooked on open fire. I highly recommend anyone who is keenly interested in exploring a village life experience at first hand with Ashok who will make you feel at home. Once again thank you Ashok, his family and your team for making this experience possible. I will definitely come back next time for the home stay experience with Ashoks family.

I had a fabulous half day trip with Chotu .
We started by driving through the nature and observing the unique wildlife of the area .
Then we visited the Farmers house where we witness the beautiful Opium ceremony . A beautiful family in a cow dung traditional house.

Chotu explained in details how they lived and the struggles of keeping tradition in the modern time .
I could also ask the family questions via our guide and understand better the details of their life .⁸

We went on to the Pottery makers , which are near by but of totaly different cast (& religion). It is beautiful to witness the co existing & respect of the different traditional tribes & casts in rural Rajhastan and to see how they invite each other to their big wedding ceremones.

The Pottery family was fantastic. We witnessed the Making of the pots and even tried to make one by ourselves. Incredible skill of generations of craft people.
Again our Guide explained in details where the materials come from and where the family sells the potterie.

We then went to visit the Weaving family. Another Incredible craftsman cast of their own .
We witnessed the Unique (to all of India) style of weaving and again got detailed explanations regarding the origin of this disappearing technique and the Incredible amount of time used to manufacture then.

We where invited for lunch at the family house and could try the local Millet bread and local wild vegetables. The food was excellent.

We ended back in Jodhpur by the afternoon.

I hace visited Rajhastan few times already and I am was only interested in the real experiences that are not touristic or made for tourists.

The day was exactly that and the meetings and knowledge where genuine.

Highly recommend to those who wish to see and interact with the real traditional crafts and people of Rajhastan.

Thank you Chotu for a beautiful day

If one wants to truly have an immersive Marwar experience, then this tour is a must. Led by Chottaramji and his brother Ashokji, we were picked up from our hotel, and were guided throughout the different activities and culture of Bishnoi community. From spotting blackbucks, peacocks, camels, birds while crusing through the mesmerizing terrain of the countryside, Ashokji had us hooked with different stories about the community and culture of Rajasthan.
My favourite part was watching the demonstration of Durry weaving at Salavas village by Chottaramji himself. And also not to mention the lovely home-cooked rajasthani meal of Baajri roti, Ker sangli and kadhi by the lovely women of the household.
A beautiful experience and a must to do if you are visiting Jodhpur!

Picked up at 8 sharp after a confirmation on whatsapp and prompt communication of numbers and rates. Om , Mr.Chottarans brother drove the jeep and took us on a safari for almost an hour and we were able to spot Black Bucks , Antlers, the Bluebull, Peacocks and other birds. Did a stop at the block printers, potters and the Bishnoi village to witness the opium ceremony. Thereafter headed out to the Prajapat home where we were given a demonstration on dhurrie weaving and treated to a great home made lunch. They even obliged by taking us to a sweet shop not on the way to the hotel as we wanted to taste the famed mawa kachori. Surely one of the highlights of my Jodhpur trip and their hospitality was most heartwarming. If you are looking to savour an authentic experience this is surely the one.

It was a wonderful experience at Bishnoi village. The Jeep safari is unforgettable as we got to see the Demoiselle cranes which migrate mostly from Mongolia during winter, saw some Blackbucks, preparation of opium, pottery making and woodblock printing. We too tried making pottery and enjoyed it a lot. Thanks to Chotaram ji as he had arranged home made food at his house in the Bishnoi village. It's worth going for a Jeep safari at this village especially with Chotaram ji. I recommend this safari if someone plans for a trip to Jodhpur as it's within few KMs from Jodhpur city.

This half-day village tour was excellent. My guide Chhotu lives in the village and was extremely knowledgeable about the people and their livelihoods and how people work together in a community. We visited a Bishnoi home and saw pottery making and dhurrie rugs being woven by Chhotu's parents. His wife prepared a wonderful meal. I can honestly say the trip was a highlight of my visit to Jodhpur. Such warm hospitality and a chance to see village life.

This was cute but very overpriced at 2500 rupees for a 1.5 hour trip with a mediocre guide. The crafts I think you could see in downtown Jodhpur and everywhere they take you has a Disney/tourist trap feel to it. The five minutes looking at wildlife was cool

We were hosted by Chhotaramji for this tour and this tour was the highlight of our trip . Right from the pick up , to all the Knowledge shared in our journey , the spotting of the black buck family and every possible animal we could see in that area , the visit to the potters house and the demonstration and experience of doing it hands on by ourselves , the durry weaving experience and the most delicious meal that we ate on the trip - everything was just spot on. The experience helped us root back to the different Indian cultures of different states . If you are in Jodhpur , this activity / trip is a MUST do . You will take back only happy memories and lasting experiences .
