We had the pleasure of knowing about Jaisalmer through Mr Lalit. He has an impeccable knowledge about the city and its culture. His passion shows when he speaks. We were a fairly large group. But he managed it with ease and his characteristic wit. When you are in Jaisalmer, do yourself a favor. Meet him. You wont forget the experience :)

This was the trip of a lifetime! Lalu did an incredible job not only showing us the magic of Jaisalmer, but the rest of Rajasthan as well. He connected us with the best of the best in sites to see, tour guides in the other cities we visited, getting around each of the cities and made it the most incredible experience. I can’t wait to go back and will absolutely recommend you work with Lalu if you want to go anywhere in India, not just Rajasthan. He is well connected and well versed and will make sure you are connected with all the best people. I can’t wait to go back to India and will plan to use Lalu every time I do! I couldn’t recommend him enough.

Had a great tour of the fort with Lalu, his stories and the tour of the fort and New Town was wonderful! He was also full of useful tips for first time travellers to India!

Jasmin Home booked Lalu German for Jaisalmer fort and haveli tour. Lalu is knowledgeable, engaging and enthusiastic to share information about the fort, Jain temples and havelis. It was interesting to walk through narrow alleyways of the living fort. He also took us to Sunset Palace cafe which has an amazing view of the golden city. However, we didn’t buy anything at the cafe but they were ok to let us in and take pictures. Next, we went to havelis and finally a shop that sells cashmere/pashmina items which I felt wasted our time.

Excellent guide. Lalu came and met us at our hotel. He started with a really interesting history of the ups and downs of Jaisalmer over the last thousand years and then a fascinating relaxed and slow tour of the fort and non-fort parts of town. Good advice given (like “not worth 600 R to go in there to see some old knives). Nice chatting Re Indian ways. He is a proud Indian and was a very nice and kind man. He was interesting and interested. Really nice to spend time with

We had a very good experience with Laluji on our heritage walking tour in Jaisalmer. His walking tour covers all the major sightseeing attractions in Jaisalmer. We were a large group (15) and he was able to keep us all engaged. He was very knowledgeable and gave us very good recommendations for food, shopping, etc. I would highly recommend his walking tour if you’re in Jaisalmer.

Lalu is such a friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide. He’s the 43rd generation living in his house within the fort and I can’t imagine there’s anything he doesn’t know about Jaisalmer and the area all around. Needless to say the tour was both informative and fun and we saw all the key sites in the town and the fort. In the evening Lalu came to our hotel and showed us the way to a lovely rooftop restaurant that must be the highest point in the fort, the views were superb. I thoroughly recommend this tour.

We were recommended to book with Lalu by friends and family who visited Jodhpur shortly before us and so we booked on. From our very first message Lalu was extremely helpful and excited to take us on a tour and also gave a helping hand to any questions we had about the area … even where to watch the football! We were picked up by Lalu at our hotel and he planned the route to beat the crowds, get the best lighting for all the photos and to stop off for lunch. Lalu has fantastic knowledge of the area, its history in the silk route and how the town evolved over time. Having a degree in english literature Lalu can speak english very well and his german is great too! He took us to all the sights and made sure we didn’t waste money on certain things which are currently tourist traps or still being restored and therefore not much to see. I seriously recommend Lalu as a tour guide in Jaisalmer and if you book with him he will treat you like a good friend and help you organise your stay and trip beyond as best as possible! Lalu ji or I can better say lalit ji is such a great man and a knowledgeable person that he will explain each and every details perfectly. He also lives in the Jaisalmer fort which quite exciting. I went there and meet Lalu ji as he was my guide but believe me it never felt like guide to me. It felt like he is my family member and he just want us to enjoy the trip as much as we can. We even did a lunch together. If you connect with him once you will never forget his personality and humbleness. I will always prefer him as my guide where ever I go.
