About the operator
- krups7600Strongly recommend a walking tour with himWe did a heritage walking tour with Lalu. We recommend him very strongly as he is very knowledgeable and makes sure one has a good time with him. He does not rush through the walk. He is very proud of his culture and passionate about his work.
- X9587AEdanp00Amazing morning in JaisalmerWe were recommended this tour with Lalu and we were so glad that we booked with him as we had such a lovely morning learning about Jaisalmer and the fort. Lalu is very friendly, funny and welcoming. He explained the history of the fort extremely well and also answered lots of questions about local life and culture. Lalu was also very helpful with recommending local restaurants in the area and assisting with a lovely camel trip and sunset ride. We would really recommend Lalu as a guide in Jaisalmer - 10/10 :)
- danandrebecaa00FIRST CLASS Walking tour around the fort and local sightsWe were recommended to book with Lalu by friends and family who visited Jodhpur shortly before us and so we booked on. From our very first message Lalu was extremely helpful and excited to take us on a tour and also gave a helping hand to any questions we had about the area … even where to watch the football! We were picked up by Lalu at our hotel and he planned the route to beat the crowds, get the best lighting for all the photos and to stop off for lunch. Lalu has fantastic knowledge of the area, its history in the silk route and how the town evolved over time. Having a degree in english literature Lalu can speak english very well and his german is great too! He took us to all the sights and made sure we didn’t waste money on certain things which are currently tourist traps or still being restored and therefore not much to see. I seriously recommend Lalu as a tour guide in Jaisalmer and if you book with him he will treat you like a good friend and help you organise your stay and trip beyond as best as possible! Thanks lalu!!!!
- rahulraman500Jaisalmer trip and lalit ji as guideLalu ji or I can better say lalit ji is such a great man and a knowledgeable person that he will explain each and every details perfectly. He also lives in the Jaisalmer fort which quite exciting. I went there and meet Lalu ji as he was my guide but believe me it never felt like guide to me. It felt like he is my family member and he just want us to enjoy the trip as much as we can. We even did a lunch together. If you connect with him once you will never forget his personality and humbleness. I will always prefer him as my guide where ever I go.
- jjS7340JY00Educational/enjoyable walk tour with Lalit jiJain temples inside the fort. Lalu ji gave us all the background information which was very interesting. Walking around the city with all the tidbits and seeing him interact with the locals. He pointed us to places where we can buy or not buy souvenirs. He made the walk enjoyable and educational. I had my old parents (85yrs) with me and he managed the walk with stops and rest nicely. I would recommend hiring him as a guide to anyone interested in touring Jaisalmer city. You will save time and you will get lot more out of the time spent. We also had debates with him on God/religion etc while eating samosas and onion kachoris inside fort restaurant 🙂
- 780tusharc00Very informative and every traveller must do tour walk with Lalu!Lalu is one of best tour guide we have came across. He was very knowledgeable and gave us exceptional insights about the place. Lalu has a very good sense of humour and kept the entire walk very interesting. There was never a dull moment in the entire walk and we enjoyed it thoroughly. Strongly recommended!
- S6758QJjonathanj00Great honest local guide for JaisalmerWe booked a walking tour of Jaisalmer (including fort and havelis) during our visit in November of 2022. It was a great introduction to the city and the history behind one of the most interesting places in Rajasthan. As a guide, Lalu was very knowledgeable and his family has been living in the Jaisalmer fort for many generations so you'd be hard pressed to find a more authentic local guide. He has a good sense of humor and many excellent stories to tell. But most importantly, he is honest in recommending which places to visit, where to buy clothing and souvenirs, and which paid entry monuments are worth paying for. It can be hard as a foreign tourist in India to trust anyone (including tour guides) as often commission is paid by shops or there is some other scheme involved. Lalu is forthcoming about these practices but does not participate in or condone them -- he just wants to share his knowledge and experience and perhaps in return learn something himself. He also went beyond what we expected by giving us written breakfast street food recommendations for the next day and taking us by motorbike to Gadisar Lake hours after the formal tour had ended because the lighting for photos was better then. Overall, Lalu is a great guide and you'll have a great time seeing the best bits of Jaisalmer and learning some really cool bits of history. COVID has hit the tourism industry hard especially for foreign tourists, so if you're visiting Jaisalmer don't hesitate to book Lalu on TripAdvisor for a reliable local perspective.
- jmesri00Fantastic way to get to know an amazing cityLalu was a fantastic, knowledgeable, and entertaining guide. He is someone whose family lives in the fort and has an innate understanding od the city. Get ready for a great mix of architecture, history, cultural tidbits and also some excellent shopping recommendations all in the span of a couple hours! A wonderful way to get to know Jaisalmer and begin to appreciate this unique and beautiful city.
- Rajrn1100Great tour of JaisalmerWe had great experience walking around Jaisalmer fort and the various heritage places around. The guide is very friendly, knowledgeable and caring in nature. He explained all the historical facts with great zeal.
- 43satyajeetd00LaluLalu bhai is not only a superb guide to the city of Jaisalmer but an excellent person to know . He is full of information and knowledgeable.
- Bnnnb00Jaisalmer Trip 2019Lalu is an excellent tour guide. He is very knowledgeable, friendly & on time. Very trustworthy guy. Also he found good car driver for us. I would highly recommend him as a tour guide for Jaisalmer.
- Orinjus00TourAmazing guide in Jailsamir. Lots of knowledge about the town and great at handling guests. He gave me and my fam a tour of the town. Was honest and helpful
- 541julian00Great, flexible tour guideLalu was a great guide, and very accommodating given that we had four small children in tow! I can only recommend him highly!
- hellray00Lalu - a fabulous guide, raconteur and photographerI read every (I mean EVERY) review of Lalu before I emailed him. They're all great. Glowing. His guests loved him! So it seemed certain we'd have a fantastic experience. We did. Lalu is brilliant. He put up with my many emails sorting out details. He met and greeted us at the train station. Joined us for a bite to eat. Offered stellar advice about things to do. Oh - and of course he's a knowledgeable, savvy guide, who's completely fluent in English, happens to have some Masters Degrees and loves what he does. He knows the local area intimately and he sorted our driver and car for the next two days after we left Jaiselmer. Thanks Lalu - we appreciate everything and we look forward to confirming your hat size with you sometime soon. Cheers - Adrian
- leoGWHI00Best Guide in JaisalmerLalu was a fantastic guide! Authentic, knowledgeable, friendly, sharing stories from this city that no written guide can give you. It was one of our highlights during our whole trip in India. We would recommend his services to anyone who wishes to visit Jaisalmer the right way.

We had our tour in the evening . The Jain temples had closed by the time we arrived but the tour guide Lalu offered to do this bit of the tour the next day morning which we appreciated.
Lalu is from Jaisalmer and this helps a lot since the man loves his city and makes you appreciate the beauty of the city , the history , architecture involved and the way of life of the local folk.
He is extremely knowledgeable and also very funny which makes for a fun and info filled tour .
Highly recommended.

Lalit ji (Lalu) is an exceptional tour guide and our visit to Jaisalmer has become exceptional thanks to him. I had briefed him about what I wanted to see (me being an architect and wife being a fashion designer). He curated the whole tour and the walk for us from this perspective. I had never expected to listen to such in depth insights to the history of Jaisalmer, the kings, the traders, the people. The way Lalit ji explained the concept of architecture and design of the fort, I could compare his knowledge to the best of history and architecture professors !
He is witty, smiling and full of humor which will keep you entertained throughout the trip. He lives inside the fort with his family & he makes you feel at home (i.e. the Jaisalmer fort). Lalit ji is a foody and knows the best places in Jaisalmer to get local snacks. He recommended some kachori and Daal Pakwan which we tried the next day. At the end of the trip he took me to show some amazing under construction havelis in Jaisalmer town (because I had mentioned to him that i was an architect and wanted to see buildings). All of his recommendations were top notch !
I believe those who work hard and love their work should be given due credit and recognition. I would recommend to connect with Lalit ji to every person visiting Jaisalmer and reading this review. I really wish that every city should have one lalu !!

The Heritage walk with Mr. Lalu was an absolute delight. Well versed with the history of the city, he took us through the history of the magnificent city, entertained us with interesting anecdotes and lead us through the many labyrinths of the jaisalmer fort. His recommendations for restaurants and shopping were excellent. I would recommend his walking tour as a must if you really want to get the feel of the city!!

On our recent trip to Jaisalmer, we met Lalit ji, who is fondly called Lalu ji by the locals. He walked us around the streets of Jaisalmer while narrating the tales and stories from the past in a way that only he could've done. You can feel his emotional connection to the city and its history when he speaks.
His warm demeanour and sense of humour ensured that there was never a dull moment while we were with him. If you ever visit Jaisalmer, I would highly recommend you tour the city with him, as without adding this to your itinerary, you're surely missing out on something remarkable. :)
Thank you, Lalu ji, for making us feel so welcome! May you continue to spread positivity and warmth around you. :)

Lalu was an amazing tour guide, he left our family with a very memorable and lovely experience! My family did a six hour city tour with him. Not only did he have fascinating information and stories to share, he had so much enthusiasm and feeling, he is very passionate about his culture and city.
He grew up in the old fort of Jaisalmer, he talked to us about the customs and culture of present day and in the past.
Overall an amazing tour, highly recommend- great for family’s too! He is kind, funny, smart and full of feeling. Thank you Lalu!

Lalu arrived promptly at our hotel to give us a background briefing on the historical and cultural context of this amazing place. He quickly judged our level of interest and pitched his presentation appropriately. We were soon caught up by his immense knowledge of and enthusiasm for his home town. During the tour he managed to fit in a spot of shopping for spinach and get his shoes polished, as well as getting his mobile phone dried out after dropping it in a drain, all without losing his focus. What a professional! And we also had very interesting discussion about cricket. I unhesitatingly recommend him for your walking tour of Jaisalmer.

Lalu was someone who you would describe as an ideal guide for any trip . He takes immense pride in his city’s heritage and this is clearly reflected in his passion for his tour walks . His charisma and knowledge will see that there is never a dull moment in your entire experience. Something which stood out for me from the whole experience was how genuine the whole experience felt , like a friend who wanted me to experience everything in his city , and Lalu did exactly that by going out of his way for us to experience the city’s culture and vibe to its fullest.
If anyone is looking for something memorable and fun to experience in Jaisalmer, look no further , Lalu is the man . Kudos to him for making me appreciate every fine detail this beautiful city had to offer .

What a fantastic walking tour, we thoroughly enjoyed Lalu’s company as a guide. He met us early at our hotel and chatted to us before setting off to give some background historical information and setting the scene for the tour. We visited some beautiful Havelis and Lalu explained the architecture and cultural significance of the buildings. He advised us whether to go inside or just to view from outside. As we walked he chatted informatively with knowledge and humour. Our tour of the Fort, fort village and temples was brilliant with Interesting explanations throughout. He really helped us to feel the emotions of the place and we were never rushed as we appreciated everything we saw. Lalu is an experienced and sensitive guide who treated us as friends and gave us good advice and suggestions for the rest of our stay . Thank you Lalu. Your tour really enhanced our stay. We have no hesitation in recommending you.

If there's one person who will make your visit to Jaisalmer memorable, it's got to be Mr. Lalit. We spent half a day with him in the bylanes of Jaisalmer fort & city, and he made the heritage walk a really memorable & enjoyable experience. His knowledge of the place and its history is truly remarkable, but his sense of humor was what impressed us the most. He has a wonderful knack for telling you random facts mixed with humor that leaves you spellbound and in splits. A true master of his trade!
I would highly recommend Mr. Lalit for this heritage tour and also for the mouthwatering local snacks that he treated us to. It was a day very well spent with him.
