Explained alot of the architecture, history and dynasties of the Kalinga kingdom. And the temples were simply breathtaking. Would do this tour again if I could, there is so much to see!Written 16 February 2024
- GAP19650 contributionsGreat tour and experience in OdishaOur guide Hrudananda was with us all day long to visit the most important Temples in Bhubaneshwar and nearby. All were really interesting and Konark Sun Temple (UNESCO Heritage site) was marvelous. Also, cave temples were different from other temples visited in India. The detailed explanations of our preparared guide helped us to understand much more than If we were alone. The driver was very kind and waited for us with patience. We also got some nice pictures taken by the guide both from our and his phone. He was also really helpful in sharing his wifi access when we need ed it. In summary, a tour to be done If you are in Odisha and want to pick up the best of the area in just one full day.Written 9 November 2023

- drvanathisethupathi0 contributionsTop notch! My husband and 3 friends took a 2 day bespoke guided tour of Konark and Bhubaneswar through 5 senses. I handled the booking part and it was a pleasure dealing with them. Very prompt communication, accommodating our needs and perfect arrangements. - Passport210107389140 contributionsSeniors Still TravelingMy wife and I are both in our 80"s, have a few mobility issues, but still are committed world travelers. In order to do that requires many things, bit most mportantly working with a Tour Company that is reputable, knowledgeable, and flexible. We had several specific unique requirements and interests for our tour of Odisha. Working with 5 Senses Tours was absolutely great when it came to plan and execute our private tour. They assigned a Tour Guide who was both knowledgeable and sensitive to our special needs. I would highly recommend 5 Senses Tours and actually have another private tour arranged with then for the Tamil Nadu region.Written 15 October 2022
- Mukundan S0 contributionsOverall a great tour Organised by 5 Senses tour Group. Well done.Overall it was a nice trip. It went like a clock work. Both the guide Mr Surya Mani and Driver Ajim were very flexible. Ajim showed his causiouness and knows where he was going. Mr Surya Mani demonstrated his knowledge about history of Bhubaneswar very well. Konarak temple was amazing. Great achitecture. Well maintained. Konarak mueseum is well laid out and informative. Not to be missed. Best aspect of Bhubaneswar are the Tribal Mueseum and the Kalabhoomi. Both should not be missed. Worth spending one full day for both. The temples we visited are all amazing and the construction is beyond one's imagination. Better to avoid any Panda (in particular at Lingaraj temple. They are not giving ant value for money!).Written 31 August 2022
- MariaSanchez2310 contributions3 hours heritage walk of bhubaneswarThe heritage bhubaneswar walk was a wonderful experience. Our guide prabhat was enthusiasm and knowledge personified. We had a great time listening to the stories from a bygone era. The temples of Rajarani and Lingaraj had spectacular architecture. It was a great way to get an understanding of the city's heritage. I would very highly recommend this walk with Five Senses tours.Written 7 August 2022

Prabhat was a magnificent guide. He took us to the world heritage site of Konark temple and it was an awesome experience. The astronomical precision in the architecture was remarkable. It was easily the most magnificent monument i have ever seen. We also visited fascinating temples in the city of Bhabaneswar including the Raja rani temple with fascinating carvings. Another highlight was the Dhauli peace pagoda and the battlefield of Kalinga where an ancient battle was fought in 4th century BC which led to spread of Buddhism in India. Puri, a coastal city in the eastern Indian state of Odisha, is a gem that seamlessly blends spiritual richness with natural beauty. Known primarily for the iconic Jagannath Temple, Puri is a significant pilgrimage site for Hindus and attracts millions of devotees and tourists every year.
Spiritual and Cultural Significance
The Jagannath Temple, dedicated to Lord Jagannath, is a marvel of ancient Indian architecture and an epic centre of spiritual fervour. The annual Rath Yatra (Chariot Festival) is a grand spectacle, drawing visitors from around the world. The festival's vibrant colors, traditional music, and immense chariots being pulled through the streets create an atmosphere of divine celebration.
The temple's surroundings are bustling with activity, with countless shops selling religious artifacts, local handicrafts, and street food. The traditional art forms, such as Pattachitra (scroll painting) and applique work, reflect the rich cultural heritage of the region.
Natural Beauty
Puri's coastline is adorned with golden sandy beaches that stretch endlessly, offering breathtaking views of the Bay of Bengal. The Puri Beach is a perfect spot for leisurely walks, sunbathing, and enjoying the rhythmic waves. The beach also hosts the annual Puri Beach Festival, showcasing sand art, cultural performances, and delicious seafood.
Chilika Lake, Asia's largest brackish water lagoon, is a short drive from Puri. A boat ride on this serene lake, home to a variety of migratory birds, is an enchanting experience. The lake's picturesque islands, such as Kalijai and Nalabana, add to its allure.
Cuisine
Puri's culinary scene is a delightful blend of traditional Odia cuisine and coastal flavors. The Mahaprasad (holy food) served at the Jagannath Temple is a must-try, offering a taste of divinity with dishes like Khechudi (rice and lentils), Dalma (lentils with vegetables), and various sweets.
Seafood lovers will find Puri to be a paradise, with an array of fresh fish, prawns, and crabs cooked in aromatic spices. The local street food, including Pakhala Bhata (fermented rice), Chhena Poda (baked cheese dessert), and the famous Puri Khaja (flaky sweet pastry), is sure to tantalize your taste buds.
Hospitality and Accommodation
Puri offers a wide range of accommodation options, from budget-friendly guesthouses to luxury resorts. The hospitality of the locals is heartwarming, ensuring that visitors feel welcome and comfortable. Many hotels and resorts provide stunning views of the sea, adding to the overall experience.
Connectivity and Accessibility
Puri is well-connected by road, rail, and air. The nearest airport is Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar, about 60 kilometers away. Regular trains and buses make commuting to Puri convenient. Within the city, auto-rickshaws and cycle-rickshaws are readily available for local transport.
Puri is a destination that offers a perfect blend of spirituality, culture, and natural beauty. Whether you are seeking divine blessings, cultural enrichment, or a peaceful beach holiday, Puri has something to offer. Its timeless charm and warm hospitality make it a destination worth visiting and cherishing.

Odisa is very beautful
Gopalpur: Amazing Beach, resort stayed Mayfair Palm & must say very very good. 1 Day or max 2 day vist.
Konark: beautiful Ancient temple, Jambeshwar Panda (9777397643) was used as Guide, he had amazing knowledge & explained in detail all things & very friendly with Kids. I would recommend him everyday.
Puri: Temple complex is amazing, would recommend visiting in evenings as a bit less crowded during evenings, try staying away from guides or people saying easy darshan. stayed in Sterling resort, its ok. Blue beach is really good.
My whole visit was road trip with kids from Bhuwaneshwer & roads are good and views are nice. Chilka lake is good but activites were less.
