About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- sales6300 contributionsGreat guide , lovely tourAkhil was our tour guide and how lucky were we to have him . A university lecturer who knew so much about Allepey. He listened to what we needed from the tour and helped us get the best experience. We can only reccomend the tour as value for money with some unforgettable photos .Written 17 October 2024
- Fun_Bobby770 contributionsJewtown Tour is really cool!Very interesting tour and history of the Jewish quarter. Satish was a great guide and very knowledgeable providing us important facts about the wonderful district but shared the right balance of information. Well worth doing!Written 12 August 2024
- ozkiwis0 contributionsGreat Tour, Great Value.Had a fabulous morning with Akhil, tasting our way around Alleppey & would highly recommend this tour to anyone who loves good food & good company. Akhil happily changed our starting time to suit our schedule, and he also modified the tour on the day due to the very hot weather which we really appreciated. We tried so much local food & went into places we would have never found on our own. Akhil always asked our preferences & offered options at each stop. Being Vishu Day, a special festival in Kerala, we also got to partake in an incredible feast on banana leaf to celebrate the day. Don’t hesitate to book this tour if you want to really experience local food & daily life.Written 30 April 2024
- dianecW1643ZQ0 contributionsGreat tour with Satish as a guide.Excellent tour with Satish, part food and history tour, all enjoyable. A really nice stroll through different areas, eating well and tasting fruits and stopping for refreshments. Definitely have a lassi drink if you’re visiting, very refreshing. l saw quite a few things out the ordinary and visited some of the shops, where was everyone polite in showing their wares. Totally recommend this tour especially if Satish is your guide, pickup and drop off was very welcomed.Written 22 March 2024

- alexanderc3510 contributionsEngaging walk through Jewish TownSatish gave us a thoughtful and engaging tour starting from the Dutch Palace and going through Jew Town, where we were able to spend a lot of time at the beautiful synagogue. We also saw a range of shops including a women’s collective where you can get clothing and tea and spices. Satish was incredibly responsive to our interests and cared that we made the most of every place we visited. He was very funny and we loved talking with him throughout the tour!Written 2 February 2024
- katelyncX9285DL0 contributionsTour content could be greatly improvedThree stars for this because the tour was not good (especially for the price) but the tour guide was awesome (extremely helpful with giving us transit and food recs, also friendly). However, the guide was not very knowledgeable/did not offer much information besides just leading us around to the major museum and some churches in Alleppey that we could have done ourselves.Written 8 January 2024

- prarthanah20230 contributionsLoved it!It was great to know the history behind the place. The place was beautiful. I absolutely was very happy with the tour. My guide, Mr. Satish is an excellent guide and answered every question I had. Thank you for the amazing experience.Written 27 November 2023
- Andree E0 contributionsGod experience. Good food. Good conversation. We had a wonderful experience with our tour guide Abhilash. 5/5 He knows the area well, even introduced us to other locals and learned a lot not only about the food but about Alleppy , it’s history, and culture.Written 24 November 2023
- Hlm030 contributionsExcellent tour, recommended3 of us booked onto the food walking tour of Alleppey, my father, husband, and I. Our guide, Akhil, was fabulous. He told us about the food, the cuisine, and about the different drinks and the meaning behind them (love tea). Honestly, we would not have even seen some of the places we went to on the tour and certainly would not have tried some of the best food Alleppey has to offer without Akhil. We stopped for a few snacks before having some heavier meals, then sweet treats, which we had boxed to take away with us as we were well untruely full! The split between veg and non veg was very good and enough to fill all 3 of us!Written 8 November 2023
- Wanderwright0 contributionsNo better introduction to Alleppey and to food in KeralaWe had a really memorable evening today with our fantastic guide Akhil. Let's start with the walk - we moved at a really steady pace with our guide repeatedly checking in to see if we were happy to walk a little further and whether we wanted additional rest points in between. We walked between 2 and 15 minutes between food venues, with each short journey filled with anecdotes, stories and endless good humour as we asked lots of questions about India and Kerala! Next, the food: I loved the variety. At different stops we tried fried snacks, light bites, Indian breads, curries , Indian sweets and different types of tea. For the amount we ate, this was incredible value for money and we definitely didn't need to eat beforehand or afterwards - make sure you keep your stomachs empty for the tour! Akhil was great at checking in with us though, asking whether we wanted smaller portions, larger portions, repeat portions or if we wanted to share, so the tour felt really personalised to our tastes and our appetites! Lastly, the guide - because what is a tour without a good guide? And Akhil was amazing! So knowledgeable about the local area but also, so easy to connect with. He shared stories from his life, spoke honestly and openly and made us feel like we'd all been friends for life. All in all, this was an incredible introduction to Alleppey and to food in Kerala and I would strongly recommend it !Written 1 November 2023
