A memorable tour of Udaipur region and Mt Abu
My wife and I did a tour of the Udaipur region and Mt Abu in the first two weeks of Nov 2024. I cannot praise the arrangements made by GeTs Holidays enough. Our contact was Mr Arijit Dhar, and, right from the research phase Arijit was available for consultation. He was very approachable and prompt in replying to our queries. He also recommended to us a different sequence of the itinerary so we avoid travelling back and forth. Good on you, Arijit ! We spent a night in Chittorgarh, 2 nights in Udaipur, a night each in Nathdwara and Kumbalgarh and rounded it off with 2 nights in Mt Abu. We stayed in the most lovely hotels everywhere most of them being former royal residences, the most stately of them being the Bikaner House at Mt Abu. It was wise of us to have opted to include breakfast and dinner in the package in most cities. We did well to opt for a Toyota Innova Cresta and were fortunate to get an excellent driver who knew the road network well, who stopped mostly at excellent eateries and coffee shops, and who was personally well-presented and punctual. We loved the Rajasthani cuisine, the chai (we even had 'tandoori chai' in Udaipur !) and the variety of food on offer at all the eating places as well as in the hotels where we stayed. A true treat for the taste buds, so typical of this part of India !! The tour guides provided by GeTs for Chittorgarh, Udaipur and Kumbalgarh were well-informed, not too talkative and sincere. The visit to the forts and the historic places up the mountain at Chittorgarh left us overawed at the valour and the spirit of sacrifice of the Maharanas and their Rajput women. The next halt was at Udaipur at the amazing Hotel Lake Pichola. The suite we had booked was beautiful and had a gorgeous view of the lake. We began the day with a sacred visit to the beautiful Jagadish Temple. The tour of the City Palace museum would need several days, actually, but we managed to soak up the historicity of the place in a couple of hours, followed by a boat cruise on lake Pichola, and a brief visit to the Jagmandir island. After lunch we could visit the Bharatiya Lok Kala Mandal which has exhibits on the crafs, dolls, masks, paintings of the region and offer a puppet show. I was very impressed that these ancient crafts are still alive and left the place feeling quite emotional. Due to the heat and the traffic, we couldn't find the energy to visit the Sajjangarh Palace (the 'Monsoon' palace) and the Vintage Car Museum but managed to cool off at the delightful gardens called Saheliyon Ki Badi -- beautiful trees and plants nicely landscaped with fountains of water providing the much-needed coolness. We rounded off the day by spending about half an hour at the Lok Dharohar show watching the elegant Rajasthani folk dances. On day 4, we began by looking at the gorgeous sculpture of the 'Sas Bahu' temple at Nagda -- this place is a little remote and not too touristy it seemed, but I cannot thank myself enough for having included it on our list, it was amazing. Then the much-awaited darshan at the historic Eklingji Siva temple, the ancestral deity of the Maharanas of Mewar, a visit that left me feeling deeply fulfilled, a memory that I shall carry for a very long time. After that we had a coffe-and-cake stop at the splendid Devigarh Palace Hotel, the location for the Hindi movie, "Ekalavya". It was a picturesque location and the hotel radiated 'class'. We then arrived at the popular Krishna temple town of Nathdwara, and, to avoid the crowds managed to pay our way in thru the fast-track queue to have a good but rushed darshan. The stay at the wonderful Radisson was fulfilling, with it's generous offerings for dinner and breakfast. On day 5, we had a quick darshan at the Dwarkadish temple at Kankroli, and, a quick view of Lake Rajasamand located just behind the temple. From here, the roads were atrocious due to a major upgrade and extension project, and we somehow managed to get to the Maharana Pratap museum at Haldighati, a gem of a place to visit. Very well-maintained dioramas and paintings, an enjoyable and impressive light and sound show highlighting the life and times of the great Rana, we were glad we could visit this attraction. After a quick lunch, weaving our way along the crater-filled roads, we managed to get to Kumbalgarh and after the hotel formalities rushed to tour the world-renowned Kumbalgarh Fort. The guide was excellent, and thanks to his narration, we could get some lovely photos and, despite the heat, take our time to soak up the incredible architectural marvel, including a darshan at the Siva temple located down the bottom of the Fort, where Maharana Kumbha used to offer prayers. It was a marvellous feeling. On day 6, we visited the incredible Jain temple complex at Ranakpur. The whole property emanated a sense of serenity. Beautiful sculpture and very well-maintained. Rest of day 6 and, days 7 and 8 were dedicated to Mt Abu, the delightful hill resort nestled in the majestic Aravali mountains. Guru Shikhar mountain, the highest point in Rajasthan, crowned by a quaint temple dedicated to Guru Dattatreya, the ancient sculpture-rich Jain temple at Dilwara, the Brahmakumari's peace haven called Shanti Van with it's interesting gardens and the presentation of the seven "Jyothirlinga", the sacred Achaleshwar Mahadev temple, the enjoyable boat ride in the evening on Nakki Lake , and, a sight of the setting sun from the Sunset Point, these were the delights we enjoyed. Despite the bustling crowds (mostly tourists from Gujarat), we thoroughly enjoyed Mt Abu, and looking back, I thank myself for having opted for Palace Hotel Bikaner House, an elegantly presented former residence of the Bikaner royal family, probably the best of the hotels we stayed at on our tour of Rajasthan -- the stately gardens, the spacious and renovated room, the lovely coffe lounge and the dining areas, wow !! Throughout our tour, the hotel staff at all the hotels we stayed at were welcoming, polite and hospitable, and the rooms were excellent, and the food was generous and delicious. To sum up, this is a tour package I would recommend to anyone without hesitation. Bravo, GeTs Holidays and thanks mate, Arijit !!

Absolutely Phenomenal tour of Mumbai, Hyderabad and Goa
This was a phenomenal trip. Anu from Gets Holiday was very attentive and detailed in planning this trip. It our first time using a tour company outside the US and although I was skeptical it was fabulous. She answered all questions and concerns and responded very quickly. She put together a great trip. We did Mumbai, Hyderabad and Goa All the guides and drivers was fantastic, very knowledgeable and safe and great suggestions for food. We were so much at home that we were eating in all the local spots. . I will definitely be planning more trips with Anu. Also, the cost was beyond great. All hotels were 4 or 5 star. Anu kept in touch with us everyday during our trip to make sure that all was going well. In 32 years of traveling , 103 countries and this is our third trip to India. This was the best trip. GREAT JOB Anu.

      Extraordinary trip. Unbeatable service
We hired the 10-day tour from Spain with the idea of visiting Delhi and Rajasthan. From the beginning and by WhatsApp we contacted Deepak, and everything has been perfect. He designed the trip to suit us, they did all the procedures, with local guides who spoke perfect Spanish. He provided a driver for us who could not have been more friendly , serious, willing to do everything possible to make the trip unforgettable, Ravinka. I definitely recommend them, and we will do more trips around India with this extraordinary team

Lovely day out, but a little rushed
Was a lovely day trip, they had great communication before the excursion and kept us informed. The driver was prompt and generally nice, but he got annoyed my 3 year old son for stepping on the car seat, which felt unnecessary. The tour guide Harpreet was really nice and knowledge and the Golden temple was Amazing! However, the visit did feel quite rushed and would have liked a little bit more time there and felt we could have spent more time there as once we finished lunch he said we had a hour before we could go to the border, and therefore we went to a textile shop. We made it with plenty of time to the border itself, and the parade itself was amazing!

GeTS Holidays created a fantastic tour of India
This company helped to organise a tour to my liking. My point of contact was Anu who advised variations and suggested visits to many palaces, temples and sights. We added on a further tour of Kerala which was no problem for her. She was excellent. The final tour that was tailor made for us was superb. The drivers and guides that GeTS organised were very good, punctual and efficient. They set up a Whatsapp group to include contact 24hrs a day. They supplied contact details of each driver and guide. Nothing was too much trouble. I thank all the staff at GeTS for making a fantastic and very memorable holiday. I hoghly recommend GeTS Holidays

Feedback about customised tour - Golden Triangle / Varanasi.
Deepak set-up our customised tour that took us from Delhi - Jaipur - Agra - Lucknow - Varanasi - Delhi. He was very response to our requests and quick at customising the tour and providing the quotation. Mahipal was our driver for most of the tour. He was an outstanding driver and we really enjoyed our time with him. In addition to being highly skilled, he was always ready at the agreed times, extremely well presented, friendly, and happy to support us with our needs. We felt the tour guides Jabbar (Delhi), Nadeem (Jaipur), and Nash (Agra) were all very good. Various trips to & from the airport in Delhi were facilitated by Vinit who was always friendly, helpful, interesting to talk to & who guided us through the check-in process both at the hotel & the airport. Gets Holidays were very competitive in price. We really enjoyed our stay in this amazing country. 🙏

      Amazing!
We had selected GeTs Holidays after a lot of research and we are glad we chose them. Santosh Nayak and Md. Azhar were very prompt in their responses and went above and beyond to assist us when we had a major issue with the vehicle. The tour guides, Aamir, Nishant and Jawan were very knowledgeable and patient answering our questions. All in all, we had a fantastic trip and would recommend GeTs Holidays for anybody planning a trip in India.

FRIDAY NIGHTOUT AT PANJIM WITH FAMILY – A REMARKABLE EPISODE!!
At 4:30 pm on Friday, my younger brother Prateek suddenly decided out of the blues to drive us to Panjim - the capital city of Goa to enjoy the night!! So, at first he parked his new car in front of Caculo Mall in Panjim! Then, we entered the huge mall and at first, me, Dad and Mom – the three of us had some lovely Cappucino and Prateek preferred to sip Café – Mocha!! To go with that we had a plate of Onion Bhajjis and even a plate of Chicken Chilly Garlic Momos!! We chatted for a while but, soon we ventured to indulge in shopping at the mall! Although, we tried to select some clothing at some of the cotton clothing stores over there, but finally we decided not to purchase them and instead we thought we will drive down to “Soul Curry” a fabulous joint suggested by Prateek to revel in Goan food!!! Once we entered Soul Curry a family restaurant we found the ambience was very cozy. The hotel furnishings had glass fitted tables and lilac cushioned chairs and over there we even clicked some fascinating photographs. At first, Prateek ordered us Cream of Sweet Corn Vegetable soup which was a rich creamy broth with French beans, Carrots and Sweet Corn. For appetizers he ordered a plate of Dragon Chicken, Rava Fry Chicken slices and Chicken Manchurian and with this we also had some Fresh Lime Soda. Besides, we ordered some seafood as well such as a large Kingfish Fry which we all shared and truly relished. So the nightout on Friday was spent together at this inviting hotel where indulging in every Goan dish was a feast indeed!! Well, I realized food is not just fuel it’s an experience with all the spices infused in the preparation! I was very keen to click some pics of all the items we savoured which I would highly recommend even my close pals to try them out. Finally, it was a long way back home by car from the Atal Setu Bridge which is a Cable-stayed bridge that exists between Panjim and Povorim. This bridge - a marvel of modern engineering, which connects Goa's vibrant landscapes and fosters seamless travel across the Mandovi River, at nightfall, is all lit up in magnificent illumination of Turquoise, Sea Blue, Yellow, Bright Red hues to watch over to unwind on a long drive over the Bridge!! While on the drive I was truly ecstatic. The evening unfolded to be zestful and I was so keen to capture the essence of these priceless moments spent together. This invoked me to pen down a few lines about the night out which in turn will bring new strength and liveliness every time I look back fondly at these incidents to keep me in a buoyant spree!!.

After breakfast we started from Thiruvantapuram. Poovar island enroute is about 50 to 60 minutes drive away with picturesque scenery and lush green countryside. A boating trip for two hours will take you to the backwaters, which would remind you o the movie Anaconda with narrow channels and dense overhanging vegetations. The boating trip through
Neyyar river also takes you to the picture perfect island in between this river and the sea with fine and very clear sand, very clear water and a place where you can't resist to take pictures. To help you keep memories of this perfect place, there are professional photographers who charge just Rs 50 and within couple of minutes give you a perfect photo showing date and place to remember such a beautiful place. Then you continue further through lush green countryside and serpiginious roads to Kanyakumari.
In Kanyakumari tourist office is very helpful and gives you a brochure with map showing places to see. The main tourist spots are the Vivekanand Rock, big statue of the great poet Thiruvalluvar, exhibition of Vivekanand, Bhagavathy Amman temple, Triveni sangam of tri oceans and the sunset point. The different colours of waters of the three oceans, namely the Arabian sea, Indian ocean and bay of Bengal can be appreciated at the sangam point at mid noon when the sun is vertically about that point. The Vivekanand Rock and the statue of the great poet Thiruvalluvar are situated on the islands in the sea and you have to take ferry boat to go there. Important point is that the tickets for ferry boat close sharp at 4pm and return from there has to be done by 5.30pm. So don't miss the timings otherwise you'll have to just see them from the distance from the mainland. The statue of the great poet Thiruvalluvar is 95 feet tall and placed on a pedestal 38 feet high. All these figures stand for 38 chapters in his books and further 95 chapters of his messages. Together they are made of 7000 tonnes of granite. Similarly the Vivekanand smarak is also made of large amount of granite on a 4 acre big island and contains Pada Mandapam containing footprints of Goddess Parwati, then Meditation hall and statue of Vivekanand on a rock where he is said to have meditated in Dec 1892 and got the insight and the knowledge of how to help other people in his country and the world. The Vivekanand smarak situated on the mainland is very informative about his life and thoughts.
The Bhagavathy Amman temple is dedicated to the Goddess Parwati and its timings are from 4.30 am to 12.30 in the afternoon and 4pm to 8.30 pm. Gents are allowed in this temple only if they remove clothes from the upper part of their body.
The sunset point gives a picture perfect view of the sun setting on the sea.
There are few churches also which can also be seen.
It takes about 3 hours to travel back to Thiruvantapuram.

This was much anticipated trip. Overall it was good. The tip is a beautiful place to be, where you get to see the different colours of the oceans meeting. Wonderful huge expanse of water. Also from here you can see the Vivekananda's rock & poet's statue. Unluckily we could do the ferry trip, due to a huge queue, as previous 2 days it was closed due to VIP movements. So always do the homework to find situation before making the trip. Also sunset point is a beautiful must visit. Could not do sunrise point visit as we did a day visit.
