    Eco Tourism at its best!
The Kadalundi Mangroves near Calicut, Kerala is a perfect example of how the Mangroves protect the river mouth from the sea attacks, at the same time, helping a flourishing self-sustaining ecosystem, where tourists can enjoy a leisurely boat ride with the neighbourhood people take us around in oar boats (no motor boats allowed), We had the good fortune of going on a guided boat tour of the Mangroves with Shri. Ayyappan, a retired forest guard, who planted the ‘pranthan kandal (Rhizophora Mucronate)’ in 1997, which is now a lush green ‘island’ where we can enjoy the chirping of birds and see a variety of fish etc.! The roots are so strong and the canopy is magical! Proud Ayyappan Chettan posed for us in front of his Kandal kadu (mangrove forest). Kadalundi is also a bird sanctuary with 53 varieties of migratory birds in season. Wish to thank Ayyappan Chettan and the likes, who in spite of many hurdles, have managed to save the river and the ecosystem around it! Hope many more such warriors of Sustainable development emerge in our country!

I recently embarked on my second outing with Tyndis Travels, a meticulously curated Nileswaram trip. Naveen, my key contact, skillfully crafted an itinerary focused on Theyyam performances and exploring heritage structures in Kasargod & Nileswaram. The schedule, collaboratively designed with local experts for Kaliyattam events, was flawless. Seamless networking for accommodation, transportation, and a knowledgeable guide familiar with temple schedules ensured a trip without a hitch. Tyndis Travels delivered a thoroughly enjoyable and well-coordinated experience. Highly recommended!

Temple visit, scenic walk, and guide's kindness throughout the tour.
Sreekanth, has been incredibly kind and attentive throughout our visit. He took us to visit several magnificent temples and showed us picturesque alleys that we would never have dared to explore on our own. His clarity in explanations and patience in answering all our questions made this experience even more enriching. We are grateful to have had the chance to benefit from his knowledge and company during this tour. Thank you, Sreekanth, for this unforgettable experience!

    Don't do it
Terrible experience after booking a mangrove tour for 2 using this TripAdvisor site almost 24hrs in advance! Despite information about the tour saying 'reserve now & pay later' I was required to provide credit card details to complete the booking and the payment was subsequently drawn from my linked account. I subsequently received an email from TripAdvisor confirming the booking but advising it was pending confirmation by the operator - which may take up to 3 days! There was no indication of this potential delay in the tour information - which may take up to 3 days! We duly arrived at the designated meeting point in Kadalundi Bird Sanctuary next morning in the hope that the tour would be delivered, only to be told by staff and other operators that they had NEVER heard of this tour operator! No-one answered the contact number for inquiries to the supposed operator that were provided in the TripAdvisor booking confirmation despite repeated calls over 30 minutes, including by concerned officials from the Sanctuary. The number came up as belonging to Jays Inn, not Tyndis as advertised. It seems this tour page may be a scam. Ultimately we took a great tour with another operator for a fraction of the price we had paid for the boat tour that was NEVER DELIVERED!

    The best planner hands down
Naveen was a dream to work with. He was responsive, proactive and planned the trip to perfection. He not only allowed changes but encouraged it so that we get the best experience for me and my fiance. All the hotels were top class and every stay was a picture perfect. Most of all, the staff and contractors he hired were very polite and courteous. Our driver Umesh is probably the highlight of the trip. He made it so special with his warm personality. He made extra effort to ensure we are taken care of EVERYWHERE we went. We have made a friend for life. I still text him even after 6 months. He's a great man. Naveen was the best thing that happened to us when my fiance and I were trying to spend some quality time together before we tie the knot. Now we are happily married and have a lot of great memories from our 7 day trip that Naveen planned to perfection. Thank you Naveen. I was sceptic when I first booked the trip reading the reviews thinking those are fake and all as I was flying in from Washington DC. But all the positive reviews are actually true. He is truly the best. I am so thankful for the time you spent in planning our trip. I'll be using your services again and again coz my wife wants us to make a trip to Kerala for our anniversary. I highly recommend Naveen and his company. Ask for Umesh as your driver if you wanna make your trip memorable. Make sure you ask him to play his music in the drive. He loves classical music and it really goes well with the trip in his gods own country Kerala. Cheers

A must-visit if you are in Calicut
Experiencing these mangroves was incredible, to say the least. The way the community is intertwined with sustainable practices over decades is nothing short of a miracle. And hearing first-hand stories of the planting and preserving of the mangroves is just a cherry on top. Ayyappan sir is a treasure trove of stories that will make it feel like you are in the documentary when it’s being shot! Thanks Naveen, Maria, and Neha and hats off to all the storytellers of Tyndis for helping us connect with the heritage of the Malabar region. No amount of pictures and videos can do justice to this place - so don’t Google, just go!

Best workation trip involving scenic beauty ,beaches, river views motivated for the maximum productivity and joy
Me and my husband had a wonderful experience with Kerala workation package. Naveen was very kind and based on the requirements was able to quickly suggest the best places and even kept in touch with us throughout to ensure the best experience. started our trip with: 1) A hidden gem in the midst of marari arakal heritage , walkable distance from the beach is a must visit once in a life time. Tasty Indian cuisines, authentic heritage kerala food and hospitality from the host Abi Arakal , wifi speed was good and then 2) we moved to a beach front place in neela backwaters allepy though it was raining we had an amazing view from the room and wifi speed was good and never had power issues. 3) We ended the workation in kumarakom mango Kerala homes with moments to cherish for with house boat cruise, river view room stay and authentic Kerala home food. it was a week long workation trip getting away from the hum drum of the city life and best place for IT people irrespective of positions as the wifi speed everywhere was very good! Definitely we will visit soon and thanks so much for hosting us and suggesting these amazing places. I suggest this to everyone who is looking for a workation, intimate time with family/significant other guys just trust and go ahead with the tyndis, tree monk workation!! they will plan the best deal for you .🎉🤞

The best workation experience arranged by Tyndis
After 2 years of “home arrest”, we wanted to just get out and get lost in nature, yet, ensuring that we are safe and not exposed to the risk of Covid. We opted for a workation at Lake Song resort, Kumarakom. The workation was arranged by Mr. Naveen Mathew from Tyndis Workations. This was the best workation I ever had. No internet issue, No room service related issue, nothing. Everything went super smooth, as promised. Mr. Naveen from Tyndis and Mr. Arun from the resort even went the extra mile during several occassions to ensure that our stay at the resort and the workation experience was hassle free. I was accompanied by my wife, and my entire family. Needless to say, all of us had the best time eating, chilling by the pool, getting into a Shikara boat ride on the lake, getting rejuvenating massages, kayaking our way through the backwaters, sitting in the middle of nature and relaxing + working, and clicking a zillion pictures. If you are looking for a relaxed, smooth workation - service by Tyndis Workation is definitely recommended!!

Thank you for introducing the Malabar way of life to me. I witness how hospitable and peace-loving people you all are. In the age of stage culture, Tyndis heritage is striving to give authentic experiences and giving more reasons to visit the Malabar region.
I loved the market experience and halwa tasting experience the best and beaches are to die for. Very very very underrated!
Hope to visit Calicut again soon.

This was not like a normal tour, it was the story of a city that you'll never experience or read about on Wikipedia. The storyteller Sreekant took me through the streets of Calicut, revealing the stories that made up the streets and buildings in a way that made everything come alive. The meandering nature of the walk felt like I was back in time and here in 2023 at the same time. He answered all my questions, introduced us to local vendors. It amazed me at how ancient the international trade in Calicut is and how old and instrinsic the multicultural harmony is to its identity. I am so glad I found this company and I look forward to other experiences in the future.

The Zamorin's tales walking tour with Rajeesh (Tyndis travel) was quite enjoyable and informative! The history of Kozhikode, the Zamorins, and the interplay of various cultures and communities from across the world over centuries in this part of Kerala was fascinating. A unique history not known to many.

Really interesting, informative and enjoyable tour. We combined it with the punting tour of the mangroves at the Kandalundi bird sanctuary. Calming after the heat and bustle of Calicut. Easy to combine if you have a car and driver. Try and start the walking tour of Calicut as early as possible due to the heat.

The experience was wonderful. It exceeded all our expectations. Our guide Sreekanth was so knowledgeable, patient and enthusiastic.

We discovered places we wouldn't even have known about if we walked around on our own - a halwa making kitchen, a coconut oil making facility etc!

Thanks for a good morning sharing your knowledge of your home city. We visited markets, storage shops of all sorts of produce, mosques, and back alleys to understand how locals live. Binusha took some great photos of us too so we can remember our trip! Friendly and willing to answer questions.

I was was googling for historical sights to see while at Calicut and was fortunate to land up on the Tyndis website. Read through and booked a Heritage walk; and I am more than happy I did that.

The Tyndis team contacted me the previous day and briefed me on what to expect on the program I had selected, and also gave me an outline of what more they can offer in and around Calicut. This ice breaker was quite a welcome one; though I'm not a stranger at all to such impromptu trips and travels all around the world.

Binusha, story teller assigned for my Heritage Walk arrived at the meeting point on time and we set off on what was a thoroughly informative and enjoyable walk through the back alleys of Calicut. Binusha knew what she was talking of, and this easy paced walk around Gujarati Street, Valiyangadi, Silk Street etc was a very enriching experience.

I wish I had a bit more time on this trip. I'm very sure I'll land up in North Kerala again and do more of what Tyndis has to offer. My sincere thanks to the Tyndis team and a very special 'Thank You' to Binusha; I had a fantastic time.

A wonderful live introduction to the rich history and people of Kozhikode, to me and my daughter – better than any history text book! We came to know how and why Kozhikode became a melting pot of cultures, and how different communities have lived here peacefully over the years. We met with the unique Muslim community in Kuttichira, where the gorgeous Mishkal mosque and Juma Masjid stand. The majestic structure of the Mishkal mosque and its history left us in awe and respect of how secularism was/is actually practiced quietly in this part of the country. It was Diwali and the markets were closed, but our energetic story teller Binusha took us into the little by-lanes full of old shops, where ancient businesses of this region came alive in our imagination. We also caught a glimpse of how the famous Calicut halwa was being made. She was so committed, she took us again to the market the next day when it was open, and to the beautiful Matri Dei cathedral, also built in the time of the Zamorin. Walking the streets has its own charm but if you want to cover more places in the given time, you might want to opt for a vehicle, at least in parts. And to complete this dose of history, we enlightened our taste buds with the best chicken biryani and seafood at Paragon, and the most delectable pathiri, ela-ada,chicken pav, kalumakkaya (mussels) and all sorts of mouth-watering snacks found only in north Malabar, at this charming joint called Zains :)

I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the city, which felt like home with the Tyndis touch.
