Really interesting walk through historical part of Bangalore. Learnt a lot about Bangalore and his rich history. Poornima is a great guide with passion to history of India and Bangalore. Really to recommend in case you have only a few hours or a day while staying in Bangalore.

Purnima is great and we really appreciated that the tour was, indeed, unhurried. It gave us time to really take in Bengaluru culture, understand the history and development of an interesting city, and explore a few important landmarks and temples. I'd highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to get a flavor of Bengaluru's history.

Bengaluru or Bangalore, it's one city and one great trip through its colonial past. I am ashamed to say that despite calling this city my home between 2003 and 2010, much of this tour was charting new ground for me. That I didn't make more effort at the time was compensated by my excellent guide, Reha, who took us through Cubbon Park, via St Mark's Cathedral and then into Fraser Town. A super day out, and recommended. Cubbon Park is a joy, particularly early in the morning when the crowds are still asleep.

From booking to tour completion, Unhurried was exceptional! Highly recommend for first time visitors to take the Bangalore Day Tour - gain insights into the history, culture, architecture and food that makes this city special! It was a feast for all of the senses and gave me the confidence to continue to explore my new home solo! The tour was flexible- see something interesting along the way- they will explore it with you! Waking up Runab and myself early on a Saturday morning was totally worth it… we became tourists in our own city and the most wonderful time with Vidya of @unhurried… all the nuggets of info shared by Vidya were absolute gems and very enlightening… would highly recommend them to anyone who wants to learn about Bangalore and Mysore

Vidya was a great guide! She probably knows everything there is to know about the area - both historical and current developments. With her open-minded and friendly manner, she shares her knowledge with you, showing you the temples and other interesting buildings and streets, including a snack break. At the end, you feel like you've learnt a lot while chatting with a friend. Definitely recommended!

We had an exciting & wonderful morning walk at Lalbagh botanical Garden guided by Ms Vidya Nilakantan our heritage & nature guide based at Bangalore. Thank to my classmate Dr Prathima Radhakrishnan as she arranged this lovely morning walk. We were accompanied by our another classmate Ms Kumud Singh and we all have enjoyed this walk very much as Vidya could explain so nicely the historical and the background of this botanical Garden right from its early days to the present one. The knowledge she had was superb and we could partly pick up from her and were memerised with the information she gave about this Garden and other vital information about Bangalore and Karnataka. We highly recommend all the nature lovers to take up this lovely walk as you reach Bengaluru or you plan to be in Bengaluru next time. A very insightful Heritage Walk in Bangalore, full of historical references and anecdotes, which ends on a delicious note. I highly recommend!

We were promptly greeted by Vidya Neel and were educated on Indian temple design, the various facets of Hinduism and the history of Bangalore. I particularly relish the experience of sipping a cup of filter coffee (piping hot) amongst the locals. My colleagues and I discussed various topics (philosophy, politics, progress in India, life) with Vidya and learnt more about the Indian psyche - delightful company. Highly recommend.

I did. the Pete Tour with Poornima and it was one of the best guided tours I have done in India. Poornima is full of knowledge, she create the walking tour such that it was informative but still fun and interactive. After having a lot of guides in India that spoke hard to understand English, sounded as if they read of a programme, and could not answer any questions, this walking tour was pure bliss! I would strongly recommend unhurried tours.

Our guide Vidya made a stroll through the old town of Bengaluru fascinating. Interesting to hear the full history of the city right from the beginning. We strolled through the old market roads, visited temples and stopped for a great coffee and Dosas. On a tour of India , where we have had the pleasure of seeing many wonderful sights, this was something just a bit different and we both enjoyed it all the more for that.

Super two-day trip with Poornima who certainly knows her stuff and has a seemingly encyclopaedic knowledge of the places we visited. The highlight for me was Srirangapatna and the chance to walk around the fort ruins and look out across the Cauvery river from where Wellington's troops had attacked Tipu Sultan's defences in 1799. That scene has barely changed in over 200 years and it was certainly untroubled by pasty European tourists like me when I was there. I would never have known to visit these sites, or even known they existed, had it not been for Poornima, and I am grateful to her for digging out these gems for me. During my time in Mysore we visited Chamundi Hills and I also purchased, on impulse, some beautiful parquetry from local craftsmen. My trip was tailor-made and it fitted like a glove. After a couple of weeks in India on business it was really nice to have an unhurried journey from Bangalore to Srirangapatna/Mysore which also took in a silk farm, silk auction and a factory where silk saris were crafted on machinery which looked as if dated to the mid-twentieth century (or earlier). A really great experience, and I can't wait to book onto another unhurried trip the next time I am in this part of India. Thank you Poornima!
