- SalutCanuck00Flexible & Supportive Customer Service & Lovely Tour to Enjoy the Real BengaluruI had an extremely long (19.5 hours) layover, so I booked this tour in advance in order to enjoy a break from the airport. With bad luck, my inbound flight was very delayed by several hours and I would have missed the start of the tour. Ajith from Unventured was very flexible and helpful in aiding me to organise getting to my hotel and then to downtown Bangalore via taxi (Bengaluru is the preferred name by locals, Bangalore is the British name). They even rearranged my tour timing so I could still enjoy it, so I’m very grateful. When I finally made it (Bengaluru traffic is an experience in itself), I met up with my lovely tour guide Sandra and our Tuk Tuk driver for the day. I really enjoyed the tour, as it didn’t feel like a “tour”. By that I mean I felt more like a family member visiting with a local for the day, rather than a tourist hoping on and off the bus, if that makes sense. Sandra was really informative, and the Tuk Tuk is a lot of fun. Being jet lagged and tired, I appreciated the hop on and hop off options from the Tuk Tuk as I could walk around a site, learn the history, stretch my legs a bit then get back into the Tuk Tuk for a short distance for a seated break and new perspective. I particularly enjoyed the silk weaving machines, and even bought a sari made on site (you have to request this option, the store is not normally open to the public). How they make the beautiful patterns is so fascinating. As someone who has to eat a gluten free diet, I particularly appreciated the masala dosa brunch/lunch. Try the hot tea - warning it is super hot!!! I had fun in the markets, but be warned they can get super crowded. If you are someone who struggles with crowds and heat, make sure to talk to your guide in advance. For me it was so worth it, especially the gorgeous intricate flowers and strands at the flower market. I particularly appreciate Sandra’s extra effort at the end of the day to help me to get back to my hotel and my later flight. Catching a taxi during the rush is complicated. I definitely recommend doing this tour if you really want to experience Bengaluru. Tip: even if you come from a country with a lot of traffic - plan for 5 times the amount of traffic you are used to. Travel for even short distances takes a while, and taxis are likely to cancel even if you have a booking. Tip 2: wear shoes that can handle a bit of water, like puddles in the streets, especially the markets. Pretty high heeled sandals or flip flops won’t be much fun, even though everything is reasonably clean - you can’t plan for weather or broken water pipes.
- LondonTraveller081400Great way to get out of Bengaluru for a dayA really enjoyable day. My guide Midhu was fun, energetic and knowledgeable (thank you for the 101 on Hinduism). The ride is easy if you are in Ok shape. Interesting places and nature to see along the way. Good food served in a resort.

- ramanmehta197900Nice way to roam and see the cityNice way to roam and see the city, i found this to be a tad expensive though. Since auto is plying 2 people hence the journey fair could be shared among the visitors/clients.
- Departure1278687730700Safe trip solo female travelerThe team kindly arranged pick up and drop off at my hotel and the tour was fantastic I felt safe and saw a part of Bangalore that I wouldn’t have experienced without a guide. I think I said thank you a hundred times ! Wonderful communications before the trip - if you don’t go you will never experience the same yourself. Choose this tour company as you get to see more of the real life Bangalore and see how it is for real people to live and work in the city - it goes beyond the traditional sites and leaves lasting memories. I couldn’t recommend them more !
- Etya A00excellentAbhishek was sweet and knowledgeable. it was a great way to spend a few hours in a new city. The communication was excellent, professional and thorough
- Samuel G00Being “no-tourist” in BangaloreALL Excellent, Gladys the best guide in town, you must try this tour to get the taste of Bangalore. I enjoyed the places, explanations, food as well as tuk tuk
- BoyZeus00Sensory overload at its bestWhat an awesome experience getting to see all the major sights by Tuk Tuk. The visit to the markets was a sensory overload - loved it. Gladys was a very knowledgeable guide and made the trip educational yet at the same time relaxed. Must do if your in BLR for a short visit like I was.

- Garland R00Informative and Fun VisitI had just a few hours to tour Bengaluru, and I am so glad I took this tour! I learned quite a bit about the areas history and had a fantastic time visiting the sites. I really enjoyed the vibrant markets. Sandra was an excellent tour guide!
- Z1571KZivant00Stress Free Bengaluru TourFabulous day out. Sandra had an extensive knowledge of all sites visited and the food stop was excellent. Would recommend to any visitors to Bengaluru, especially those new to the various Indian cultures. The drivers took all the stress out of negotiating transport and Sandra just made the day fun. Optional cemetery visit was an eye-opener.
- arvinegar00Amazing tourIt was truly a nice and memorable experience to go around Bengaluru. Midhu, my tour guide, was very engaging and helpful. We got to talk about our own cultures and it was very fun. Would definitely try the other tours if I ever get the chance to go back to Bengaluru!

Fresh of the plane and my first time in the country :) first agenda was to do this tour and boy i was not disappointed, First of, Pooja my lovely tour guide was amazing, soo much stories and enthusiasm in showing here city to me, really made my day. As for the tour itself, it was fun, and energetic, the sights and sounds were incredible, from the hundred year old palace, to forts, to the first smiley :) , the market scene was nice, the fruits are fresh and delicious, i actually took home alot which Pooja was nice kind to help me carry all of it, and the flower market was also great. It really showed alot of the city. The city itself is incredible, with tress everywhere, makes everyone relax and take a time to reflect. I love the temples, the rituals and the food. Plus getting see sari factory, and dyeing factory. If i find myself back in the city, would definitely do it again.

My daughter and I really enjoyed our time with Pallavi and learned a lot about the history of Bangalore. The markets were colorful and chaotic and we would have been overwhelmed without our guide. She was very knowledgeable, fun and helped us negotiate some good bargains with vendors! This will be one of our favorite memories of Bangalore!

We had an amazing time today with our lovely guide, Medhu. Her kindness and smile, the clarity of her explanations, her enthusiasm in telling stories were very much appreciated!
The Pete walk is the perfect tour to discover old Bangalore, very authentic (ideal for tourists but also for people who, like me, have been living in Bangalore for few years but are not familiar with this area).
We will definitely highly recommend our friends and visitors to book a tour with you guys!

Pooja, our tour guide is friendly and nice. She's on time, already there when I arrived at Tipu Sultan's Palace. She brought us around while explaining stuff about places we visited. Destinations are typical for walking tours in India, the highlights were the palace, the dosa meal we had and the silk factory.

Tour guide was lovely, but nothing we were told wasn't written on the wall. Anticipated a clean tourist market and was taken to the dirtiest market where beggars kept grabbing me and asking for money. Was very uncomfortable, and was not cheap. Actually stopped tour early. Definitely wouldn't recommend nor worth rhe cost.

Dear Travel975kk,
It saddens us to hear that you did not enjoy the tour. Unventured is an experiential travel company the focus is on curating experiences that bring out the true flavour of the region. As locals in the region our goal is to bring you closer to the region through local experiences but ensure it’s a softer landing.
The markets are at the epicenter of the hustle and bustle of the city. Bengaluru’s markets are also the story of its origins. We’ve been offering this tour to several hundreds of travellers for the last 8 years and take pride in this being our BEST TOUR.
We’ve noted that you were unhappy with the tour on 3 counts and here are our responses.
1. “nothing we were told wasn't written on the wall”
Many of the sites we visited are truly LOCAL and AUTHENTIC and are living ecosystems by themselves. Also at Unventured we pride in being storytellers and not mere historians sharing facts. Most heritage sites only confine themselves to the facts but we focus on sharing interesting stories of local legends that give flavour to the region as we paint a picture of the region's history. We even make the effort of differentiating between legend and historical facts so there is no misinterpretation. The markets are active and exist not for touristy appeal but an ecosystem that exists by itself to serve the locals, it is less of a museum. As a result a lot of its history is not also documented like that of a historic site that has past events.
2. “Anticipated a clean tourist market and was taken to the dirtiest market where beggars kept grabbing me and asking for money”
The Pete walk as described in the tour description is a market for locals to trade and not a tourist market. As a matter of fact, there is very less for a tourist to buy in these markets but a lot more to experience that is local, authentic and real. Across India the local markets are always bustling with energy and they exist in the midst of poverty and the chaos of street hawkers.
We agree that this is not your ideal market in the west and everyone expects something different. But being in a country like India the local culture revolves around such markets and exists in this state of organised chaos. Beggars on streets are a result of the poverty that some sections of the people face. They do come by and ask for money, but rest assured they DON'T hassle people and particularly in the presence of a tour leader. Our tour leaders are trained to deal with such situations and we haven't had a single issue of harassment from hawkers or beggers in the markets that has resulted in them being under physical threat or harm in any way. You had encountered beggars on 2 occasions and in neither cases did anyone physically harass you. It was recorded that a child had approached you and was much closer than comfortable for a brief moment. While we cannot stop beggars on the streets we will take feedback in ensuring greater safety but we assure you that they mean no harm.
3. “Was very uncomfortable, and was not cheap”
Our tour leaders take utmost care of guests and ensure they are responsible for the guest all along. This is the "adventure with a softer landing" we refer to as the Unventured experiences. On this occasion we assume this may have happened when the team visited the temple and you had insisted on staying outside since you had to take your shoes off to enter the temple and it is a regulation we cannot break rules. Unfortunately the price of the tour and the resulting value is relative to the value travellers draw from it. We’ve hosted this tour for many travellers and have never been told that the price was high. But we will take this feedback and try to rework on the pricing of the tour. But rest assured that we are priced based on the value we add on the tour and that WE DO NOT HAVE ANY HIDDEN costs when on the tour and you DO NOT HAVE TO SPEND on anything once you are on the tour (entry tickets, food - as much as you wish to eat) etc… At Unventured we’re a tour company that does not compromise on the quality of the experience.
We hope these responses have given some clarity albeit not convinced you about our tour or service. We wish you safe travels and request you to not loose trust in exploring local places when travelling in India, it is the pulse of this country and truly INCREDIBLE INDIA!
Best Regards,
Team Unventured!
