The staff in the hotel are very friendly and helpful in generally. Unfortunately I can’t say the same for the restaurant, before you enter the restaurant you are presented with 2 menus options, you must confirm your order pay and then you can go into the restaurant. I am 70 years of age and have traveled all over the world this is the first time I’ve experience this. The management should understand that people need to have information about what’s on the menu. Tourist are not always aware of Gujrat cuisine. Going to a restaurant should be fun, discovering new things, learning to understand another culture this restaurant did not do that for me. SORRY.

It was a pleasant stay, the staff is very courteous and supportive , the food is very delicious,the surroundings are well maintained, provided a great ambience,the rooms are very spacious and well organised with all the necessary amenities……great experience!

HoMG is a beautiful boutique hotel. It’s like an oasis amidst the hustle of Ahmedabad. Check in was efficient but we discovered that there was a problem with their credit card machine and WiFi. For a 1 night stay for business this was a small issue as we needed to roam. There was no offer from the hotel or service recovery. The rooms are beautiful and large. Fans in the living room and bathroom. Great communal gardens and lots of areas to walk around to admire the heritage. I checked in late afternoon following a 4 hour car journey from Bhavnagar. I opted for a quick 30 min massage before they closed at 2000 and this was very good. Dinner was thali at Ayshigae. I think the flavours didn’t suit us 100% as a number of the dishes were on the sweeter side but understand this is a hallmark of cuisine in Gujarat. The setting was fantastic and waiters all very efficient and helped guide on the dinner. Breakfast was very good in the Green House. It was a quick one as we had an early flight up catch but the service was good and prompt. The credit card issue persisted the next day so they could not take payment for the taxi drop off to AMD airport. Asked me to do a bank transfer instead via roaming. Unfortunately it would take my bank 4 hours to see up a new beneficiary so that didn’t work. The young gent at reception did not seem particularly helpful but after persisting , managed to get the machine to work. I did an evening tour with Mr Ali the resident guide of HoMG. Very informative and got to see the other two properties owned by HoMG. In summary clearly a lovely and amazing property and if the service levels can be raised it has the real potential to be amazing.

I don't think I've ever stayed in a room so big. This was clearly some kind of suite. Not sure if they offer anything smaller, there wasn't many options on Agoda. That king sized bed, could probably sleep four. The mattress was very firm, very comfortable. There was even 2 A/C units, both working and very efficient at keeping my room nice and cool. And a fan! The room, including bathroom was spotlessly clean. The desk was appreciated, there lots of power points although the decision to have them all black in colour is odd and finding light switches in the dark wasn't easy. I stayed on the third floor, I'm not sure what they offer on the ground floor, but it might be worth enquiring if you have mobility issues. I didn't use their famous restaurant Agashiye, but I did have breakfast in the Green House area, it was fine, staff were friendly. Staff were helpful, especially reception. I needed attractions on a day tour swapping around a bit to make the most of time and someone did that for me. They also organised an airport transfer for me. I think House of MG was my favourite stay for this years trip to India.

The house of MG We asked many people in Ahmedabad about who serves the best authentic Gujarati food. Everyone said, “Agashiye” at the house of MG. We were awestruck to see such a beautiful haveli having so many restaurants. Everything at this place oozes history & generations of stories. Everything is so sustainable & delightful for eyes. We sat for our meals and couldn’t stop observing every dish coming with perfection. A splendid afternoon which filled our hearts more than it filled our tummies. Wish to stay at this place next time!

The original “Haveli” has been tastefully modified to house a boutique hotel, an eatery at the ground floor and a dining place at the roof top. The environment at the roof top in the late evening is mesmerising with live music. The food is essentially’Thali’ comprising multiple food items from the region and is essentially vegetarian. One needs to pay in advance for the food. Worth a visit definitely.

I had a fantastic stay in a house with large, comfortable rooms. The staff was very helpful. There is a fantastic gift shop located on the first floor. There is a beautiful indoor pool. The buffet breakfast was ok, but not great. The coffee was decent.

This is a beautiful heritage property right on the outskirts of the historic heritage city centre of Ahmedabad. The staff is very friendly. The property is supported by two wonderful restaurants, The green house which is open for 24 hours and Agashiae, which specialises in Gujarati food. The property was elderly friendly and allocated a ground floor room to my 80 year old father who had accompanied me. The courtyards, the swings, the antiquated decorations, all made it a very memorable experience.

Beautiful heritage hotel . The front office was most helpful and most patient with guests after 6 hours driving . Thank you Prakash and his team . Just in the heart of old Ahmedabad. Very good family food . Good experience on the roof top restaurant for delicious thali . The most appreciated is joyful , professionalism and a so pleasant atmosphere. The House of MG has excelled in all its glory. Having arrived from UK for our tour of Gujarat, We would like to thank Abhay Mangaldas & all the polite & courteous staff, They made us welcome as if it was our own place to stay. Having stayed in other branded 5 stars hotels during the two week visit in Ahmedabad this House of MG heritage hotel was above the rest as it made our holiday exceptional. The haveli reminded us of our own stay at my uncle's house in Sojitra Kheda Gujarat. The Gujarati thali dishes offered in Agashiye were excellent & flowing with variety of flavours of Gujarat & above all to finish with home made pan ice cream & pans for afters. The noise outside of hotel is expected & makes you feel you are part of this hustle and bustle, as we are right in the middle of this great old city of Ahmedabad & this is no different to any other crowded cities of the world. We would certainly recommend to & will be visiting again with friends & familles.

Pathetic Gujarati Thali at Agastya House of MG , poor quality food , too spicy, the taste is not what it used to be earlier, never go to Agastya House of MG . Earlier the food quality and taste was good, but this time it's below average food , cost of thali is more than 2000 , which is not even worth of Rs 500.

This hotel and the staff are wonderful – the rooms are spacious and comfortable, the laundry service is excellent and very reasonably priced, and the chef and staff at breakfast were top-notch. The hotel has plenty of private sitting spaces and courtyards where guests can while away their time reading or just relaxing. The spa services are excellent, and the rooftop restaurant serves wonderful, traditional Indian food. A great time all around.

Very interesting building historically being restored with great care and precision. The decor is very pleasing on the eye my room was huge! Roof top restaurant for traditional Thali meal is good - recommend it!
