I've been a journalist for 11 years and am a 3rd generation citizen here. I spend 24 years of my life living in Corbus’s public social housing, studied in Piere’s designed schools & went to Maxwell Fry’s designed offices – so I live, breathe, and exist as Chandigarh. Later, I utilized my journalism skills to dig into how the government utilizes public funds. I hope you love stories because that’s how I got so many to share! Personally, I’ve travelled to several countries and a backpacked my way across India in my 20’s a lot. I love to cook, & my cat thinks I’m quite funny. I live a non-traditional lifestyle. My guests range from architects, urban planners, Diplomats, foreign dignitaries, students, senior citizens, kids, couples or hippies – I cater to all. This is a CUSTOM tour – we will plan the day’s itinerary according to your personal interests! Caring for the individual needs of my guests is a responsibility I cherish.

Wow. What an experience. As a family of 5 with 3 architects on board we were probably tough clients as we wanted to see a lot. Rusty was awesome. He picked us up from the airport and dropped us off at Pierre Jeanneret's house where he had organised for us to stay for the 3 nights. We wouldn't have known about it otherwise. A real gem. The following morning he took us to the Capitol Complex and then proceeded to take us to the most amazing cafe and then the many architecturally designed museums around Chandigarh. We had another fabulous dinner and the next day we were off again, covering the Rock Garden, Memorial Park and University buildings. Another awesome meal and a sneak peak at the Neelam Theatre. What a treat. The final morning he kindly took us back to the Capitol Complex as the weather was much better and he managed to get into the interior of the Assembly building which was my architectural highlight. He then dropped us back to the airport. Rusty is very kind, very funny and his discussions about Chandigarh and India in general are so engaging. We all learnt so much. We talked about it afterwards how we would have only skimmed the surface of Chandigarh had we decided to go it alone. I'm so glad we used him - as normally we just go it alone. Do it! You won't regret it. The complete Chandigarh experience!

I needed a break from the city smog and escape the pollution of Chandigarh in this winder, and the Lower Shivalik Mountain ranges seemed like the perfect getaway. I have lived here for over ten years but Rusty took me to the outskirts of the city where honestly I didn't even know existed.
Rusty is a friendly guide with a deep love for the area, and we headed to Forests just outside Chandigarh.

As soon as we reached the forest, I could feel the difference. The air was cooler, fresher, and smelled of pine and earth. It was a relief to leave the city noise behind. We started walking through the area, surrounded by tall trees—oaks, pines, and deodars—creating a peaceful, almost magical vibe.

Rusty was full of info, pointing out plants, animals, and even sharing stories about the place. He talked about the leopards that roam the forest and how the area is home to some rare birds like parakeets and hornbills. He also explained how the locals use certain plants for medicine.

To make the day even better, Rusty had packed some delicious snacks—perfect for a little forest picnic. Between the cool air, the greenery, and the snacks, it felt like a perfect escape from the smog and stress of the city.

It was a fun, relaxing day, and definitely a reminder of how refreshing nature can be. If you're looking at low commitment escape from the city, I can't recommend him enough :)

We were a group of 18 (7 adults and 11 kids), and Rusty did a fantastic job of engaging all ages. We covered the rock gardens, lake and the capital complex. He was very informative about the city and the sites. He also made excellent suggestions for local food. I would highly recommend him as a guide.
As a bonus (included) service, he had a friend that took amazing pictures of our tour.

Rusty was an excellent host! It was great to see the city through the eyes of someone who has lived there their whole life. I was mostly interested in architecture and Rusty was able to customise the tour to what I was most interested in and how much energy I had each day. He always had a few options to present for activities or snacks which was great for us,
I traveled with a friend but also had Rusty show me around solo for another 2 days. I was a little intimidated as a solo female traveller but having Rusty around helped ease any fears I might have had.
We ate some really amazing food - some of the best I’ve had in India. He was also happy to provide options for some white person food when my tummy needed a break!
I think one of the best aspects is Rustys background as a journalist - it was great to have conversations about politics and society that provided different insight to the rest of our time in India!
        Thanks Rusty! Legend!

Had an amazing day exploring a lesser-known side of Chandigarh on this guided tour! We started with a trek into a nearby forest area—perfect for anyone who loves nature and a bit of adventure. The hike was pretty easygoing, making it great for all fitness levels, and the scenery was just beautiful.

But what really set this tour apart was our guide, Rusty. He’s not just your average guide; he knows the area inside and out. Rusty surprised us by taking us to this hidden gem of a spot deep in the forest. It’s one of those places that even the locals don’t know about, and it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. The views were incredible, and the sense of peace was just what I needed.

Throughout the hike, Rusty shared tons of interesting facts about the local flora and fauna. I left feeling like I’d not only had a great time but also learned a lot about the natural world around Chandigarh.

Highly recommend for a weekend of alternative adventure

Rusty is a knowledgeable, kind, organized and fun guide. I was able to see so much more of the city than I ever would on my own (or on any other tour). Rusty will happily adjust the tour to your interests and desired pace saving time for coffee, juice or treat stops along the way! Truly the best way for me to have experienced this architectural pilgrimage.

Thanks, Rusty for a wonderful sightseeing tour and the arrangements you made for our family in Chandigarh. He went out of his way to arrange tickets and also took extra care of my children's needs. Rusty was accommodating in the heat and provided pick & drop from the hotel for my family. Extremely friendly, highly recommend him!

Scam. Those are the things that are mostly free except a couple of things like going inside collectors office. Why pay 4000-11000 rupee for it. The guide was impolite and had lost his temper a couple of times
