    Great Food Tour
Great food tour, trying a wide variety of dishes, don’t eat before there is plenty of it. The only thing I didn’t like was the guide asked us to introduce ourselves to the rest of the tour why, it’s not work, we can all do that if we want to.

The wonderful tale of Dubai and its start
Truly wonderful experience with Arva who gave us great history of the area as well as a background on different cultures and religions that all live simultaneously together. The small alleys with incredible culture and amazing food spots were truly impressive and Arva knew exactly which places to hit up. It’s a lovely walk and each alley gives u a totally diff feel and experience.

We had an amazing experience at the Dubai souks food tour! Ketki, our guide, was wonderful and not only gave us historical context to all the foods but kept us entertained throughout. All the food was delicious and this was as one of the best experiences we had during our Dubai trip. Highly recommend !!

Fifteen ladies were part of an Abu Dhabi public art and street food tour guided by Arva and Soumia. Their enthusiasm, knowledge of hidden gems, laughs, tips for trying tasty street food were wonderful and appreciated Thank you for a great time, we sure will be back to some of the authentic cuisines

    Behind the Souk
We had a great group and guide. Lots of fun. I have been to the Spice Souk many times, but saw and ate our way through areas I had either never seen or never stopped to notice. At the final Emirati dinner nobody wanted to leave.

Art, Culture and Flavors Unite! A Must Do In Anu Dhabi’
As a self-proclaimed Frying Pan Adventures groupie, the Abu Dhabi Art & Food tour has hands down become my absolute favorite experience (with the slight exception of the phenomenal corporate event they hosted for my regional team—truly unforgettable). This tour was nothing short of spectacular, and a huge part of that was thanks to Reem, our fantastic guide! Reem’s passion, knowledge, and warmth shone through every moment of the tour. Her love for the city she grew up in was downright contagious, as she narrated its history and culture with such energy and charm. She made the city feel alive with her stories, and I felt more connected not just to Abu Dhabi but to its art and cuisine as well. The food? Oh, where do I even begin! Every bite was a revelation. The dishes were not only incredibly delicious but represented a gorgeous tapestry of flavors from different countries and cultures. Each stop along the way felt like a mini globe-trotting adventure on my plate. It was a truly remarkable experience to explore such a diverse culinary spread without leaving the inner city. Pair that with the thoughtfully-curated exploration of art—you get a perfect blend of history, culture, and food that will leave you delighted in every way. Mixing art and food was such a fun and clever idea—it gave the tour a unique twist I haven’t seen anywhere else in the UAE. It’s not just a tour; it’s a sensory experience that celebrates both creativity and flavor.

An Appetizing Adventure: Discovering Delicious Eats & Touches of Public Art in Abu Dhabi
When every person on a food tour thinks every dish/snack deserves to be a favorite you know you have a winner. The tour is well curated - you walk a neighborhood but also a world of cuisines (Palestinian, Syrian, Afghani, Pakistani, Chinese, Indian...may have missed one). As our guide, Reem, led us through the streets, she not only ensured we were well fed with food but also with details about each stop, each dish, and stories which truly brought Abu Dhabi to life. Her enthusiasm was infectious and we all ate way, way too much. We couldn't help ourselves as every dish, snack, drink was stand out. But as always it's beyond the dish itself, it's the places selected themselves that are unique. The short art stops on the way were a nice add on to the experience, and helped us digest to make space for the next stop. I don't want to give too much away on what we ate, but will say come with lots of space in your stomach. I would never have found the places we ate on my own, and will definitely go back to many of them again if in Abu Dhabi. It is a great way to explore the city whether you live in the UAE or a tourist, and I hope this tour stays on the Frying Pan schedule once the Public Art Biennal finishes in April.

More than just a food tour
Worth the money. Between food stops, our guide Ketki weaved us through the souks giving us a rundown of history, culture and influences over time. Local knowledge was evident through Ketki’s childhood stories, and her easygoing personality and humour was appreciated. Good ratio of walking:eating:abra riding. And of course great food discoveries!

    EAT, WALK, LEARN
Great walk through the Deira and Fahidi Souks with plenty of snacks culminating in a fine dinner at Al Fanar. Interesting historical and anecdotal insights by our intrepid guide and Ketki. The spice shop experience was the highlight for me. Thank you, Frying Pan; and thank you co-walkers in this culinary expedition. .

Frying Pan Adventures have come to Abu Dhabi - a Food and Art Tour
A new tour combining food and art. At last Frying Pan Adventures have come to Abu Dhabi! What a great way to spend a few hours on a Friday evening. The tour was well organised and it was a great experience to wander the streets in the heart of Abu Dhabi sampling the fantastic food on offer. We ate sandwiches with unexpected fillings from a Palestinian bakery and discovered a Chinese restaurant with a hidden interior and ate boiled beef (much more exciting then it sounds!). We enjoyed India street food, kulfi, a strange chai, hot stuffed bread fresh from the oven, and there were sweet endings! Walking between venues there was time to discover the artists' work on show at various locations. Highly recommended - I would say go before it gets fully booked!

The food tour you are looking for!
This food tour was exactly what we were hoping for. Ketki was an amazing guide and took us off the beaten path to some truly delicious and authentic local places. I just wish we had done this on the day we arrived instead of the day we were leaving because I would have gone back to some of the places for more! We also got to learn about the area and culture from a local. This is the food tour you are looking for!!!

See and try things you otherwise wouldn't
Not only did we sample foods from several regions, but we got interesting insights into how immigrants from different cultures have impacted the development of Dubai. We saw areas of the city we never would have otherwise.

    Brilliant Snack Tour
We had a lovely experience with Frying Pan Adventure doing the Snack tour through the Souks. We were with a big group of colleagues (29 pax) but Ketki did manage this very well and she was very enthusiastic and knows and love the area which made our experience really special. We can highly recommend this company!

This was a very well thought out and organised street food tour with five stops in restaurants in Deira, Dubai, off the usual tourist route. Our guide was Camila, who has lived in Dubai for nine years. She was very knowledgeable about middle eastern history as well as about the food. There were 12 of us in the group; we all had earphones (either our own or provided), so could hear very clearly and could also communicate with the rest of the group. Wet wipes, sanitising gel, hair nets, a map and bamboo cutlery were also provided in cotton bags for each guest. Water was included and there was also a soft drink option available. We started at a Felafel shop (the best I have tasted!) for a snack and were shown how to make a felafel 'sandwich'. A table was laid for us and ingredients provided for us to make our own. Then we donned hairnets and went inside to watch Jordanian kunafa being made, before sampling it back outside (a candle and birthday sign was thoughtfully added for one of the group celebrating her birthday). There was a quick Schwarma stop before our main course in an Iraqi restaurant where we sampled the national dish of Masgouf (a large fish) that had been cooked on an open fire. Finally, the tour ended in a Lebanese sweet shop sampling baklava and gahwa (spicy coffee). Camila kept us engaged throughout with her knowledge and quiz questions. I would highly recommend!

My husband and I were on our honeymoon, and it was our first time in Dubai. The food tour was our favorite part of our trip. Farida was able to convey her passion for the city and food culture through her stories. She shared the history of Dubai in a way that was easy to understand and the food stops were amazing. I recommend this to anyone who enjoys trying new foods and learning about a different culture. My husband and I didn’t know what to expect but we were happily surprised by the tour. I’d recommend coming to the tour with hunger so you can enjoy all the delicious food. Once again, thank you so much Farida for making this tour one of our favorite moments of our honeymoon!

Nada was our food tour guide through what I would call “delicious history.” She was there ahead of time to greet us. We purchased our tour through a third party and, upon arriving, discovered some of the coverage offered through our package was, in fact, not offered. This was important because the language indicated we would be given headphones and communication devices needed to listen to Nada as she shared information throughout the tour. Without hesitation, she said she would sort it out, and at no additional cost, she could provide us with the equipment needed to participate in the tour.

From the start, she was very personable and had a welcoming demeanor. She had great knowledge and history of the food she was sharing with us, combined with a light-hearted sense of humor that kept us all entertained throughout the tour. In addition to the food knowledge she shared, she also shared historical information about the areas we were walking through, so as we went from stop to stop, she was always engaging us and keeping us entertained.

Excellent staff welcomed us at each stop and took the time to show us how they made the food we were sampling. We were also allowed to make our first meal. All the food was brought out to us and spread across a table, and they let us build our first course. For the second course, we were taken into the kitchen restaurant for a close-up look at how the dessert we were served was made. We had four stops in total and all of them included their own fun, history and delicious food.

If you are in the area and choose Frying Pan, ask for Nada’s tour! She made this one of those unforgettable experiences where “time flies when you’re having fun!”

Hi Chintan and Emma, thank you profoundly for taking the time to share your experience with Nada's tour! It's heartening to hear that Nada turned an initial hiccup into a smooth start for your adventure. We're glad that the measures taken ensured you could fully enjoy the tour. Nada's passion for sharing her knowledge and love for food and history clearly resonated with you, and that's exactly what we hope for. Your mention of the welcoming staff and the hands-on experiences at each stop is much appreciated — it's these moments that we believe truly bring our tours to life. We're touched by your recommendation and thrilled that your time with Nada was memorable. Should you find yourselves in Dubai again, we look forward to the opportunity to explore more delicious adventures together. Scrumptiously yours, Arva

We did this food tour in May 2022. Throughout the year and even until today, I think back on this trip and the many wonderful experiences we had. Taking this tour was one of them.
Our guide Nada made the evening a terrific event for us and the group.
Nada patiently guided us through the neighborhoods and provided us with a wonderful history of the area and all the tasty morsels we got to try.
The four-hour tour went by quickly and I recommend not having lunch when you do the evening tour as you will need room so you can try everything.
This company was very professional from the beginning. We will definitely try the other tours the next time we pass through Dubai. Thanks to Flying Pan Adventures and Nada for making our visit their last year memorable.

Instead of choosing the usual fancy restaurant for a team celebration i chose to do a walking tour taking in lots of different foods from the region in an area of Dubai where few of us venture.
It was a great experience learning along the way whilst eating in local restaurants.
I would highly recommend this even if you are a resident here. So many highlights of the evening but the falafel was a revelation - i usually don't like falafel but this was so light and tasty i will be sure to return to Sultan Falafel!

Wow, last night my friend and I embarked on a Middle Eastern Food Pilgrimage with Frying Pan Adventures in Dubai, and it was absolutely amazing! Even though I've lived here for 20 years, I discovered hidden gems that were completely new to me. Farida's expertise and enthusiasm added an extra layer of enjoyment to the delicious dishes we savored at every stop. Just when I thought I couldn't take another bite, I was presented with yet another mouthwatering creation that I simply couldn't resist. Unlike previous food tours where I often left hungry, Frying Pan Adventures left me completely satisfied and enlightened with local trivia. I can't thank them enough for such a memorable evening!

Camila was amazing and so informative on food and everything Dubai. The tour was the perfect size, 6 of us and 3 hours was enough time to digest a few spots and enjoy making friends. The ear buds allow you to hear the commentary. Overall if you like a curated VIP experience on what it's like to eat thru a neighborhood in Dubai, then don't hesitate to book it!

My first food tour was in in Xi’an, China, where we sampled local delicacies that we’d never have dreamt of stopping to taste. Food tours, led by locals, offer intimate insights into the character of a city. You are guided through a neighbourhood while listening to anecdotes and learning about the city’s history and culture and experiencing the best local cuisine. And so it was during our Middle Eastern Food Pilgrimage with @fryingpandventures. We left the immaculate, sanitised streets of new Dubai and ventured to Al Rigga, one of the first neighbourhoods to be urbanized, and sampled treats from Palestine, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria and Iraq. A really lovely experience that provided context to Dubai.

Hi TheCornerPlot, this is such a beautiful affirmation of food tours -- they are indeed such an insightful and unique way of experiencing parts of a city that one often wouldn't see when visiting on their own! The one in Xi'an China sounds incredible, and it's an honor to have served a food tour 'veteran' like yourself and lived up to your expectations! Thank you for your wonderful words and for giving us the opportunity to share our favourite Middle Eastern spots and stories around Deira.

Farida was outstanding. Her list of restaurants to taste authentic middle eastern food has been very well curated. The delicacies we consumed have been well thought out and represented a wide cross section of Middle Eastern cuisine.

Farida also helped us gauge our food intake so we didn’t over consume and didn’t feel bloated at the end of tour. Highly recommended if you want to indulge in exquisite hidden gems of Dubai!

Great job.. Farida!
