Disappointed? Yes, but does what it says on the tin.
Our experience was very different from the reviews that I read. Not to our expectations considering the amount of money paid essentially for a taxi service. First, quite a fair bit of the tour is actually a car ride from Dubrovnik to the area and back (approx 45min to 60min one way). Our driver, whilst nice enough wasn't really a tour guide at all. He dropped us off at the places and each time said he'll come back to pick us up later... To set expectations for other people looking to do this tour: 1. Ston - driver will drop you off after a 45-60 minute drive, you're left to do your own thing for 45 minutes. Exploring the walls costs additional money. Town is quite small. 2. Oyster and mussels - The redeeming part of this tour. Driver drops you off at a small boat with a local oyster farmer who is the 4th generation in farming the waters. Oysters and mussels were great! 3. Winery - In our case, the winery were not even prepared for our visit. Had to wait a bit for anyone to greet us and they were not prepared for guests. Not really much of a tour, rather just a bit of wine tasting. No obligation to buy anything from this small family production but we decided to buy a bottle. 45-60 minute drive back Consider hiring your own driver and arranging a similar itinerary, the people we shared a boat with for the oyster and mussel boat trip did that and had a better result!

          Fantastic!
Absolutely fantastic opportunity! The driver was punctual, informative, and fun! The oyster experience was great. The family who runs the business gave us a delicious meal and lots of history of their family business. The vineyard had amazing wine and grapa. We were given a lot of information about their wine and what makes it unique. We left with multiple bottles of wine and grapa. This is a must do when in Dubrovnik!

If you like oysters you must do this trip! Croatian oysters are the best in the world. You get them right out of the sea and shucked before your eyes. Amazing!!

Amazing experience - best trip in Dubrovnik
Loved the tour! Went with our family of four and all had a great day. They picked us up from our Airbnb which made it much easier with the kids. First stop was a short break in Ston to explore. Second stop was the boat tour, definitely the highlight! The captain was really informative and answered all of our (mostly our kids) questions. Pulled and cleaned oysters for us fresh from the bay. Also included fresh cooked mussels and wine! Next stop was a winery tour which included a flight. Wine was great, but we particularly liked the sherry and bought a couple bottles to go. Azra was a great host, would definitely recommend this tour!

          Dream dinner
I don't know where to start from the very beginning everything was perfect from the ambient to the food. The restaurant is run by a wonderful family who welcomed us with a big smile. I must emphasize that the food was homemade, all praise to the hosts.

          A relaxing tour
Well-planned itinerary! Having freshly harvested oysters on the boat was a highlight, yet it was a bit rush (time on the boat was a bit too rush. It would be more pleasant if more time is allocated to enjoy the wine and seafood pairing). Detailed introduction at the winery. The drive was safe and comfy, the guide was highly responsive. Overall, it was a great trip!

If you are thinking BOOK IT
I had a wonderful time on the Ston & Pelješac tour! The oyster and mussel tasting in Hodilje was simply delicious. Buzara is incredible dish! The visit to the Škurla winery was equally enchanting, as we got to explore the fascinating world of winemaking and enjoy in some exquisite wines.Throughout the tour, the guides were knowledgeable and friendly, providing interesting insights into the history and culture of the region. The transportation arrangements were smooth and comfortable, making the entire experience hassle-free. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to savor the flavors of the Adriatic coast and experience the warm hospitality of the locals. It's a perfect blend of culinary delights, stunning scenery, and cultural immersion. Don't miss out on this exceptional adventure!

          FANTASTIC!
My husband and I booked this excursion during our stay in Dubrovnik. It's a hard call, but I think it might have been my absolute favorite day of our trip! Our guide and driver were both wonderful, and talked us through Croatian/Dubrovnik history and geography as we drove to the peninsula. We stopped for a coffee in Ston first, where we learned about the salt production. The boat ride through the oyster farm and eating the fresh oysters right out of the water was UNREAL. Our captain/oyster farmer was also lovely, and talked us through oyster farming, which was super interesting and makes you appreciate it that much more. We stopped at a local winery on the way back and tasted some wonderful wines, Rakija, and olive oil, which was also fantastic. I could not recommend this experience more - it was so special!

Best wine and fresh oysters and mussels. Book without thinking!!
This was one of the best experiences around Dubrovnik. The oysters are fresh and the mussels are incredibly tasty. After that, we visited a small home winery where we were wonderfully entertained and the amount of wine poured by the host was quite generous. We would recommend it to everyone if they want to get away from the crowds and relax by the sea with the best quality wine. Thank you very much

Oysters & mussels tasting with wine, Ston and Peljesac
Oysters and muscles lunch on the boat was great! The winery wasn’t so great, more like a home brew operation.

We decided to go on this tour as it was a small (still decent size) family vineyard which produced 4 types of wine: 2 white, 1 rose and 1 merlot.
We were picked up near to where we were staying and our guide/driver was great and we had lovely conversations to and from the vineyard and then to Cavtat where we stopped afterwards for an hour.
We enjoyed the company which was mixed, UK, Canada & US. The food platter and wine tasting was great and we were allowed to wander through the vineyard. Our host at the vineyard was very informative and I would recommend this trip rather than to a much bigger vineyard which were available.
Out of the 4 wines we tasted the second was our favourite and we purchased 2 bottles at €15 each and I wasn’t prepared to bargain the price down as we love to support locals anywhere.
        Definitely worth doing this trip.

This was an absolute fantastic 10 person wine tasting in a family run winery (Botaro). All my wife and I (plus the others) had to do was: learn about the 4 wines on offer; drink them; and eat the lovely meats, cheeses and salads - ALL, like the wines, home made and grown. We were all collected from our various hotel by the lovely Azra, taken to a collection point, and then driven in a comfy mini-bus by the charming Peter. The host speaker, Anthony was knowledgeable and poured very generous amounts of the different wines. There was no rushing us through the tastings and, after about the 3rd wine, we were all very happy and getting quite merry insomuch that we had an Internation sing-song amongst our lovely group consisting of: Irish; American; Australian and Japanese. The singing got even better when, to our surprise, we were taken to a different area to sample 7 different spirits of contrasting strengths. Afterwards and getting merrier, we were invited by 'Mother' to buy (absolutely no pressure) the wines and spirits that we tasted. We then boarded our mini-bus where the charming Peter, drove us back to our Hotels (more singing involved).
The whole experiance was fabulous, from the time we were picked up, to the time we were all returned. Thank you, City of Stone, for a memorable day, and thank you to the Botaro family for lovely wines and spirits and for making my wife and I so happy.

Fabulous 5 star experience at BOTARO vineyard. Very smooth pick up from old town and journey to the place. A fantastic family of 5 running this vineyard and has been for 100s of years (their ancestors). Very generous amount of tasting portions and the fresh cheese is out of this world! Would highly recommend this experience to everyone visiting Dubrovnik.

If you are looking for a true wine tasting experience you may want to look elsewhere. This winery is completely geared towards tourist visits. The young man did a great job of making us feel welcome although his spiel was too heavy on the kitschy remarks for my taste (for example, "this is our breakfast wine", etc. This winery does not sell wine outside the winery. Their business relies solely on tourist business. I was looking for a winery experience similar to Napa, New Zealand, Chile, etc. The food was good and pours were very generous. The chardonnay was good but I found better reds at the wine bar in Dubrovnik.

The wine tour at this vineyard was fabulous. The family that own this vineyard make everything from scratch, their own wines and cheeses and olive oil, all of which we got to taste. All of it was delicious including the liqueur tasting. The service was fantastic at the vineyard. And the portion sizes very generous. Would highly recommend this to anyone wanting to learn more about wines and anyone interested in tasting really good Croatian wines.

The Private Half Day Wine and Food Tasting is a must do in Dubrovnik. A nice break from Old City and the sea, the tasting is a peaceful getaway.

The wine and food are both spectacular. Everything is made on the farm by the amazing family, who's rich family history at the vineyard is truly something special.

This was a thoroughly enjoyable experience and I would highly recommend it. After a short drive through the countryside we came to the winery and spent a really fun afternoon hearing about the family's winemaking business. We had generous tastings (almost full glasses) of 4 delicious wines, paired with a generous platter of homemade prosciutto, dried beef and several different kinds of homemade cheese, including a smoked cheese that was scrumptious. A highlight was the stories and conversation with our host, as we shared a laugh around the table. I highly recommend this trip. It was a wonderful way to spend a cloudy day.

The winery is hundreds of years old, and still family owned and run, and you can feel the pride from the family members who guide the tasting. The wine obviously is produced here, but all of the food at the tasting (breads and meats and cheeses and liqueurs) is also from the winery (much of it made by grandma!), so the tasting is a completely family affair. This experience is a nice break from the crowds and hustle of Dubrovnik, a lovely afternoon of food, drink, and company in a beautiful valley on a beautiful farm.

Pickup was a 3-5 minute walk right outside the old town walls. Drive was quick and the driver was really nice. When we arrived to the winery, they had a charcuterie board with meats and cheeses that they make at the winery and it was beautiful! For the wine, we tried 4 and they were some very generous pours. Finally at the end, we tried some liquor that is also made at the winery. Would definitely recommend this half day event to anyone going to Dubrovnik and I would do it again next time I go!
