Overview

Dubrovnik is known for its history and architecture, but appreciating its many sights can be difficult on a self-led tour. Forget the guidebook and learn from a local on a tour of Dubrovnik’s Old Town, exploring landmarks including the Franciscan Monastery, Stradun monument, Cathedral of the Assumption, and more. Enjoy the intimate perspective of a walking tour as you gain insight into the city’s far-reaching heritage and culture.

What to Expect
Dubrovnik never fails to awe the visitor; its streets paved with white limestone, its walls crowning the city, and its medieval sandstone-colored houses oozing with history.
This 1.5-hour guided walking tour takes you deep into the city’s 1,400-year history, recalling ancient tales when Dubrovnik was one of the world’s most prosperous port cites. It tells tales of war and lets the tour-goer in on the culture of the city.
After meeting at Pile Gate, begin the journey through history and through Old Town. Pass the Franciscan Monastery and admire Orlando’s Column, a monument on the Stradun inspired by the city’s long-standing freedom and sovereignty. See, too, Onofrio’s Fountain, built in 1438 at the end of a 8-mile (12-km) aqueduct that gave the city its water supply.
The walk also stops at the Rector’s Palace, Sponza Palace and the Cathedral of the Assumption, a baroque church built after the devastating earthquake of 1667.

The Old Town Discovery Tour became a “self- discovery tour”!

Sadly this was a wipe out for me. Meeting point was supposed to be at Pile Gate; hundreds of people off cruise ships milling about but not one person held a sign designating this tour. I waited 20 minutes but no-one appeared. For anyone interested...More

Dubrovnik Old Town Tour

Branko was outstanding explaining the history of Dubrovnik and making it interesting with his great sense of humour. He was very good at answering all my questions. He was very diligent about being sure everyone was with the group. I highly recommend this tour.

Hi, we didn't have a private guide in Dubrovnik but we did in Split. I would just email the company directly and tell them you'd like to arrange a private tour. I am guessing they would be happy to arrange that for your.

It covers the perimeter of the old city and just outside it so around one km by one km I would say. You should also walk on top of the city walls separately. That’s beautiful too around sunset time.

Not the way we were shown into the city, but it's always possible to take the main gate entrance which is perfectly suitable for wheelchair. Other than that no stairs were taken, so I don't see any problems. I recommend to... More
