About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 944RicardoP0 contributionsExcellent ExperienceOur trip to Kosovo was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. Helen, our driver, was not only highly skilled behind the wheel but also incredibly knowledgeable about the region’s history and culture. She provided us with fascinating insights into Kosovo’s past and present, making the journey much more enriching than we had anticipated. Throughout the trip, she ensured that we were comfortable and well taken care of, always attentive to our needs and happy to answer any questions we had. Her friendly and professional demeanor made her a real pleasure to deal with, and we felt like we were in excellent hands the entire time. Thanks to Helen’s expertise and engaging storytelling, we left with a much deeper appreciation of Kosovo and its heritage. We highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for a well-organized and informative journey!Written 9 January 2025
- wun0 contributionsWonderful driver & guideWe did a sightseeing transfer from Sofia to Skopje with Rila Monastery stop on Dec 22. Our driver Igor came on time to pick us and the luggages. He is easy to communicate. He drives within speed limit. We can enjoy the scenic landscape and take many photos along the route. We had one hour stop at Rila Monastery and ample time to see the whole monastery. Igor bring us to a traditional restaurant for lunch. The food is good. He then dropped us safely at the apartment we booked. We had a great experience with Igor. He is always accommodating to our request and smiles all the time. We are happy to have him as our driver. We also booked a full day Best of Skopje with Skopje Daily tours on Dec 23. When we see Igor again as our driver, we happily greeted him. This time he bring a guide Oliver to join us. Oliver speaks perfect English and she is passionate and give us the best of Skopje. She never stop giving us details of history and culture on the sights along the route. We do appreciate her enthusiasm in ensuring we know and understand the sights. After visiting Matka Canyon and St Panteleimon monastery, we wanna get a closer glimpse of the Millenium cross. Igor drove us to a viewpoint. However the cross was covered by clouds and startled to snow. After a traditional lunch, Oliver started walking tour in new and old part of the city. We covered Makedonija Square, Old Bazaar, Stone bridge, Mother Theresa Memorial & end tour in Old Train Station around 5pm. During the walk, we understand deeply on the history and culture that carved Skopje as it is today. Specially thank Oliver for giving us her best.Written 5 January 2025
- Medusa12960 contributionsExcellentWe thoroughly enjoyed the tour with Mr Zarko. We greatly appreciate his intellect and knowledge, learning a lot about the geopolitics of the region which we like having an understanding of. Of course we also enjoyed the sight-seeing. We also shared literary interests which made the trip so much more enjoyable. Thanks My Zarko, you really made our day. We highly recommend the tour.Written 25 December 2024
- DominicRemax0 contributionsMatka canyonAwesome tour. Transportation was on time and great. The tour guide lady was very knowledgeable, friendly and shared many great recommendations. The tour included the transportation, nice hike along the river, we paid extra for the boat ride to the canyon, visited a beautiful church on the way, went up to the cross. Great conversations during the tour. The price was way cheaper through tripadvisor versus the advertised prices at the bazaar. Highly recommend! Thank youWritten 22 December 2024

- Karen F0 contributionsA wonderful dayDefinitely recommend this tour. Our guide (and guide in training) were knowledgeable, and generous of spirit- answering our questions and sharing their own experiences. We were lucky to have a beautiful sunny day in the off-season. The visit to the archeological site was very interesting, and we both appreciated the winery lunch/tasting. The food was traditional and delicious and each course had a wine pairing.Written 19 November 2024

- Relax7634160 contributionsA good experienceA very professional and pleasant outfit with which to do business; did two private tours and a transfer from Skopje to Ohrid. Used the services of two guides, Vangel and Tony, and more knowledgeable and likeable ambassadors for their country, you would be hard-pressed to find - and ask Tony to tell you one or two jokes from his extensive repertoire! So, in sum, thoroughly recommend, without reservation. Nicky and PaulWritten 25 September 2024

The guide (Wladimir) was very well informed about every station on the route and was able to give satisfactory answers to intermediate questions. His English was also very easy to understand.
The routes were covered with a small, new bus.
The price of 25 € is optionally increased by the additional entrance fee to the monastery (2 €) or the fee for visiting the cave (6 or 7 €). It is definitely worth the money and I can just recommend this tour.
Personal advice: take some food with you. So you can focus on the sights at the stops and use the travel times to eat.

We did the afternoon tour on a sunny day in September. We had limited time in Skopje so this tour interested us as we wouldn't have had the time to do both on our own. The tour guide, Kate, was so lovely and friendly- she was sure to talk to every participant during the tour.
Matka canyon was so beautiful. We opted for the cruise to the cave, like most of the group. The boat vendor accepted euros (thankfully as we hadn't had time to get MKD out before the tour). The cave was smaller than what I expected, so we felt the cruise to the cave was worth it for the cruise alone.
We enjoyed the stop at the small church, as there were cats and dogs hanging around. We had about 15 minutes at the top of Millennium Cross. As there is limited things to see at the top, it was enough time.
Overall, we were so glad we booked this tour

I was so pleased to find Skopje Daily Tours offered group tours to several sights in Macedonia! As a solo traveler, I wanted to make the best use of my time while also not blowing my budget so this was perfect! I was relying on Google Maps to find the meeting spot and had some trouble finding it. The parking lot where the tour meets is at the top of the Kale Fortress. The entrance to the parking lot is across the street from International Balkan University. Matka Canyon is actually really lovely! I really enjoyed the boat tour and the cave was interesting as well. I would advise bringing bug spray if you are at all susceptible to mosquitoes. Those Matka Canyon mosquitoes are no joke! All in all, a good value in terms of both time and money.

Great affordable tour from Skopje city center to Matka and Vodno. There was no way to reach the Millenium Cross as the cable car 🚠 is closed due to COVID. The price of the tour and amount of time is definitely worth it but our guide talked the entire 4-hrs. Felt obligated to continue turning towards him to show I was engaged and listening but I would have preferred some silence so I could enjoy the sights and beauty of Matka. Definitely book but maybe let the guide know upfront that they don’t need to squeeze in everything from Bc to present

A great tour guide was on time at the pick up point and made everyone feel welcome. We had time at the cross which is very big cable car was fun and place to get a coffee at the top. Guide gave us a lot of info before every stop
The canon is amazing along with the boat the the scenery is amazing
Boat ride was cheap and we got to see the caves it was like a river in Africa and took you away from the city my only comments about the trip is the minibus was full with not much room and on a hot day the aircon did not seem strong.
There some walking and getting to the caves is hard for anyone with walking problems but there guide was always there to help and the trip was made better by some fantastic American ladies
Would book it again

Vladimir is the best guide we could have! He was punctual, spoke very good English and he is knowledgeable about Macedonia history, culture and current affairs. The millennium cross is worth a visit as you can see not only Skopje beneath you but also the mountains bordering Kosovo and Macedonia. Then we drove to the Matka Canyon where we went on a boat ride to see a cave and appreciate the beauty and tranquility of the place. Vladimir joined us too and he was explaining every corner we saw. We enjoyed the trip so much, that afterwards, all the group had dinner together. The tour took longer than expected because of traffic, around 5hrs but Vladimir didn't complain a tiny bit and entertained us with his facts till the last minute. Thanks for this memorable day!!

Our guide Lydia was very friendly and knowledgeable. At this time of year I would recommend wrapping up warm. It would be ideal to give a guide of the price for the extras, as entry to the monastery was 120mkd and 500mkd for the boat ride to the Vrelo cave. I would recommend doing both, but they require cash payment. Also a morning trip to see the canyon would have been better. That said I had a great afternoon, took many pictures and would definitely recommend this trip.

The views are beautiful but this tour isn’t it. DO NOT recommend.
To set the scene for how this tour went…our guide drove off with the passenger door wide open for at least a mile.
Overall learned nothing on this trip, it was chaotic and poorly organized.
Arrival: Guide was 10 mins late, then took another 10 mins to figure out who was on the tour. Spoiler, there was only 4 on the tour, and only 4 of us waiting.
Millenium Cross: He told us to go into line without tickets and disappeared without telling us anything else, but the tickets were included in the price. He returned 10 mins after ready to buy our tickets mumbling about parking. He also never told us a time to be back until my husband and I being to walk away.
Matka Canyon: Pure chaos, but some of that was due to the two other individuals on the tour. We all went on the boat but our guide made the boat driver detour to a patch of land on the way to the cave…we also stopped to pick him up again…after he finished his sunbathing.

The tour guide was prepared, knowledgeable and very friendly. The attractions were interesting and the canyon was beautiful. Note that the boat ride to the cave is not included in the price and is 500mkd/ person paid on the spot, but is absolutely worth it. The tour lasted a bit longer than adverstied, so prepare for that.
